the deplorable buccaneer morgan

I'll admit the vitriol runs both ways, for ill sadly, because it keeps us from focusing on the main target, the red queen dreadnought,

the progressives understand that the maintenance of political power, is not an end in itself, but the
key to a fundamental transformation of society, too many on our side, seem to miss that,

Miss Marple 2, Deplorable and Proud of it

I resent the idea that I am anti-gay. My nephew is gay and in a long-time partnership with a wonderful guy. Because they realize there are Catholics in the family they were considerate enough to be married in California, and then had a reception here, which I attended.

My granddaughter, whom I took in at her mother's request, is gay, which was the cause of friction with her mother.

I rarely talk about this personal stuff, but I am posting this to demonstrate that the judgements people make about Trump supporters is without merit.

Beasts of England

The vitriol runs both ways, but it sure as [redacted] wasn't the Trump voters who started it. There's a damned big difference between an action and a reaction.

The anti Trump was so loud and noxious that I, who was originally on board the Cruz Missile, and who flipped to Trump when I voted, came out only to Beasts that I voted Trump in the spring; because, I dared not disclose it here.

Ponder that.

Miss Marple 2, Deplorable and Proud of it

Stephanie,

I sympathize. I caught a lot of flack for saying I supported Trump.

I am over it, because I think I made the right decision.

I think he will win this thing. He's smarter than the NRO people give him credit for, and he truly loves this country.

His policies for the most part I can support, and the few I am iffy about are not deal-breakers.

If he loses, it will be because the GOP didn't present a united front. I am hopeful that the Reagan democrats help us out.

DebinNC

The family quarrel here got ugly quick. I understand not liking Trump, and not trusting Trump. He is putting out reasonable policies for all but reining in government (welfare stuff, the child care entitlement is a big problem here), provided we believe he'll follow through instead of negotiating who knows where. Hillary is a corrupt disaster on steroids. Never Trump means Hillary-- simple math in our two party system. I don't get the personal insults flying around about it.

Deplorable Momto2

I have put the NeverTrumpers into categories, moving from least to most *deplorable!*

1 - Those who for some reason will not vote at all or will vote 3rd party but don't talk politics.
2 - Those who will quietly vote for Clinton but don't tell anyone.
3 - Those who are average, everyday citizens who spout off on SM posting disparaging stories, lies about Trump, etc. and will vote 3rd party or for HRC.
4 - Elected GOP officials who don't say anything publically but do not support Trump. (I had Bush 41 in this category - I don't think he expected Kathleen Kennedy to make headlines for him)
5 - Elected GOP officials who are publically stating they won't vote for Trump, making statements which are used in HRC's campaign ads, who use any real or imagined circumstance to rush to a microphone to denounce Trump.
BUT THE WORST BY FAR:
6 - The GOP presidential candidates who took $ from the GOP and signed a pledge to support the nominee and now have broken that pledge and publically made a spectacle of themselves which the MSM gleefully reports ad nauseum.

Those are my .02 about the whole gang of them!

Miss Marple 2, Deplorable and Proud of it

DebinNC,

Wrong link.

Now it's not able to be played.

I wonder if it was not supposed to break yet. Poster was from a group which supports Trump but isn't the Trump campaign site.

Deplorable Momto2

Please re-post if you find it MM. I really like to see the Trump ads. I don't watch TV so I only see them if someone posts a link. Thanks!

In response to where Omar Mateen's wife is now:Lisa Schiffren "She was last in Jordan, or the part of the West Bank under the control of the Palestinians. When you see this happen, you know for sure that Mateen and/or his wife were FBI or CIA assets gone wrong."

Might explain why Lynch won't answer.

DebinNC

Wow, Stephanie. I don't remember a climate of fear re supporting Trump here in the Spring. Maybe it was because I was dodging so much incoming at the time for pointing out red flags I saw with Cruz that imo spelled defeat in Nov. Apparently, there was a National Review kerfuffle here that didn't even register with me.

Beasts of England

You're a fair and wise person, henry - are the people defending against the NeverTrump insults directed at them wrong? Or do you think there weren't said insults?

(feel free to not be put on the spot...)

Matt - deplore me if you must

One must remember that the Bushes are good friends with the Clintons. Bill is everyone in DC's favorite party boy.

Donald Trump Seizes Control of Ohio Ground Game from John Kasich - Breitbart

Iggy, those are good points. Maybe I'm too hung up about it.

But here's how I see it. Trump is Jack Aubrey, and those who wish he was Stephen Maturin are missing a great deal. Aubrey has his faults, but his virtues are not limited to those he shares with Maturin, and vice versa.

After all, Stephen was a down and out failed revolutionary until Jack found him and put him to work defeating Napoleon. Absent the Jacks of the world, there is no victory. Absent the Stephens of the world, there is still a chance of it.

Lamenting the unStephenness of Jack doesn't get us very far. Decius gets this, but he really would have a greater understanding if he would open his eyes and heart to Jack in full.

Jack is Deplorable! (And Irredeemable)

Hillary/s latest TV ads are devastating for Trump. It could turn a lot of people off. She needs to get sicker and more immobile, quickly. Or Trump needs to start spending money. Her numbers are going up not down.

DebinNC

Or is Kasich angling for a Clinton victory so he can position himself for another run in 2020, during which he would presumably rally the Republican Establishment against the memory of Trump?

Even I don't think Pearly Gates is that deranged.

Deplorable Momto2

One must remember that the Bushes are good friends with the Clintons. Bill is everyone in DC's favorite party boy.

Yes, Matt, I realize that and I also understand Bush's feelings about his Jeb!'s dismal showing. Those feelings are hard for any parent to overcome. I think he was squarely a 2 on my scale until he was "outed" by a Kennedy.

What an embarrassment that Haiti effort must be to the Bushes! I do not put them in the category of the Clintons by any means. I do not believe he would willingly participate in a scam that took advantage of the Haitian people.

I wonder if he has ever privately commented on Obama's presidency? If so, those remarks aren't likely to be trumpeted by a Kennedy or any other D.

As per Stephanie there were periods here when Trump bashing was the norm and other periods when they were outnumbered by defenders.

Nobody was "attacking" Jeff, or Cecil, or Rick.

If they found the eventual shift pro-Trump unpleasant maybe it seemed like expressing their opinion was drawing Trump defendings.

Like Stephanie and others here I was for Cruz/Fiorina but the Trump defenders always made more sense than the bashers.

Porchlight

Hillary started obscene ad spending very early. Where has it gotten her? The swing staters are already tuning her out, and that doesn't even account for the inexplicable spending in blue states. When Trump begins his full ad assault it will be new to voters' eyes and much closer to the election when it really counts.

"The Clinton event was billed as “lunch with Hillary Rodham Clinton” and had four donation levels to attend. Those contribution levels were described as $100,000, which featured “chair reception with Hillary,” $33,000, which included a “host reception with Hillary,” $5,000, which included “preferred seating” and $2,700. ... No reason was given for postponement of the Clinton event, which was planned to take place at the home of Betty Craven and Michael Warner."

Regarding that Washington Post article on ad spending, this is all you really need to know:

Over the past month -- the first month that Donald Trump has run any ads at all -- Hillary Clinton and PACs supporting her have run 70 percent of the ads that ran in the most popular markets. Trump, and groups supporting him, have run 30 percent.

And what's happened over the past month in polling? Trump has gained ground in the polls.

Yeah, funny how that works. Trump wins the GOP nomination despite raising and spending 1/10 of what his competitors do (and being outspent 2-1 or more by several of them individually), and he's right there with Hillary despite have no spent a it y fraction of what she's spent.

Isn't that precisely what the progs have been demanding? Yet they're silent on this for some odd reason. It's almost as if they're utterly dishonest, amoral hypocrites or something. But that's unpossible, isn't it?
