I think The Hill realizes she is not physically up to four years of the POTUSey, and she is determined to be sworn in as POTUS and function in the job as long as she can. That something is a campaign talking point doesn't preclude the possibility that the candidate really believes the point. Hillary wants to go down in history as being sworn in as the first female POTUS, thus breaking that glass ceiling (having already broken the major party POTUS nominee glass ceiling). I think her insiders, including her personal physician, have bought into this. I now don't think there is any plan to bring in someone at the last minute. The plan is just to get her through to inauguration day.

Until the last couple of days, HC's official campaign site had an "Events" button a visitor could push and see her scheduled events listed by date. Most of "her" events showed proxies like Kaine, Warren, Bernie, etc. As her site schedule showed before it went "poof", she did speak at a House Hispanic Caucus event last Thurs. or Friday and she made a short, shaky appearance at the House Black Caucus event Saturday night. Her site event schedule also showed she was to speak to a group in Orlando today, but she now isn't due to "debate prep". ... Now though, her campaign site has dropped the events section entirely, or at least the part showing appearances w/time and place, except for a search feature where you can enter your zipcode and get feedback, which I didn't try.

Maybe her schedule is still posted and my bad eyes are missing it. If not, if they've jettisoned her schedule because at this point she may or might not be able to make scheduled events, that would be huge imo.

James-I went to college just north of charlotte up I-77 and I am just stunned by last night's events. The former mayor and now bo's transportation secretary is also an alum. I was watching Foxx on the news last night and thinking about what I have now learned from just finishing From Civil Rights to Human Rights on MLK's true agenda. It was written by a UNC-Greensboro history prof--Thomas F Jackson.

There is great danger in what blacks have been told they are entitled to, including the right to use political power to radically restructure American society and what whites have been led to believe was the king legacy. The book proudly describes the subterfuge that went into gaining the national holiday, especially from coretta scott king. It also says reagan said he wondered what the archives sealed until 2027 would show about king's real communist activities. Given what is in the book I suspect we will be appalled and that those records will either remain sealed or that national security advisor of clinton's will simply swipe more troubling records.

Very early up here (6 AM), but this morning we have, according to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Force Winds, screaming up the Turnagain Fiord and slamming into our cul de sac in South Anchorage:

Parts of Southcentral Alaska could see hurricane-force wind gusts of up to 100 mph and heavy rain starting Tuesday night from a Bering Sea storm system, the National Weather Service reported Monday.

It happens every year or so so we are used to it, but we've lost power a few times already , and the wind gusts are hollering so fierce that every few minutes the entire house rocks back and forth and the "whooshing sound is deafening.

Here's a weather depiction from the National Weather Service showing what we're experiencing. The wind from the Prince William Sound (in purple) comes racing westward across the thinnest mountain stretch (in red), and then speeds due west up the Fiord we sit on top of. I've seen worse in the past so my guess is we're not topping 80 MPH gusts, but it does get your attention:) Momma and dogs doing fine!
