Trump withdrawing from the race because of a coarse, vulgar tape which could have been the play-by-play for any Bill Clinton Saturday night? I totally understand that after his debate effort Mike Pence looks a lot more Presidential and a switcheroo would be tantalizing, but if Republican leaders think they can steer this ship back to Port Sanity at this late date, forget it.
Bullshit. If ever we need a guy like Trump. Wishful thinking.

The decision to most Americans is undeniable. Hillary takes a walk and our host learns to live with a Trump administration.

And if Trump were to withdraw, then what, you bleeding idiots? People have already been voting, the ballots are all printed, and just who in hell do you think will be voting for your tomato can replacement? The Deplorables will desert you en masse, costing you the House and the Senate, and any lukewarm independents who were wobbly on Trump will switch over to Hillary. You think the globalists will then include you in their ruling clique when you have zero power left with which to bargain for a seat at the table?
Personally, I am going to withdraw myself from the Republican Party because it is just too embarrassing to be associated with such mind-boggling idiots.

Old Lurker (from last thread):
”I think I am past anger and past fear. I feel in an out-of-body way that we are floating above it all but that there are only two doors leading out of the box in which we find ourselves.”
Yes. That's where I go when I can't take the gut wrenching anger any more.
Anger at everybody. Anger at where the Dems have/are taking us. Anger at what amounts to GOPe collusion. Anger at our side too, for taking the pussy bait -- and I don't just mean the usual chorus of detractors either.
It doesn't matter what kind of dirt Trump can fling back. All the Dems have to do is keep us away from the real, existantial, issues and Clinton wins. And that strategy is working. What are we up in arms about today? We are playing their game one muck-raking, sexist, red herring at a time. It's going to take more than deflecting such attacks. If Clinton can keep us fighting in the sewer, we lose. If we can't CHANGE THE SUBJECT to the things that really matter, we lose.

Also, GOP lawyers are currently meeting to see if there is a legal way to force him off the ballot.
Man, the internal polls must have been showing Trump winning in a landslide. Otherwise they could have just stood back and let the Dems/media sling their mud and count on that and the margin of fraud to give Hillary the victory. They must really be desperate to try to pull off this coup so openly. Also they are sacrificing their own party and throwing their current office holders under the bus, because whatever happens from here on out, Trump's army of Deplorables are lost to them.

Very strange this. I mean 10 year old remarks on a hot mic conversation and our betters are well coordinated enough they are willing to burn down the party. We need to band together and drag our own candidate across the finish line.
I think we can, maryrose, but something this big has been in the planning stages for a long time. It was all triggered by the polls showing a Trump 'surge', if you will. He was/is behind by only 2 points nationally which means nothing, but he was/is ahead of Hillary Clinton in EVERY category.
Early voting was ramping up. The time to pull the trigger was now.
GOP is sending local party units generic sample ballots. Plan would be in key areas, not to include Trump.
Posted by: Barbara | October 08, 2016 at 05:01 PM

Not only are they willing to burn down the party, they are willing to burn down the country.

Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | October 08, 2016 at 05:02 PM
I think the two parties at some point merged behind he scenes, Rich. They continued with the charade of a two party system because that gave us all the illusion that we live in democratic republic, and have a voice in our own governance. Jeb Bush was supposed to have been the GOP candidate, and I don't think it was supposed to matter as to who actually won between another Bush and another Clinton.
Then Trump came along, and when they failed to get rid of him during the primary, they just assumed Clinton would beat him easily and so they saw no problem in just letting it all play out. Trying to take him out now in a last minute open coup smacks of desperation. Like this is the only card they have left to play.
Posted by: derwill, yet another adorable, irredeemable deplorable | October 08, 2016 at 05:02 PM
My guess is that the Congress is going to decide this election no matter how we vote.
Likely candidates: Ryan, Pence, Cruz, maybe whats-his-name from New Jersey. Not Jeb! though. That would be too obvious.

Here is a more recent Trump quote. If only THIS was played on an endless loop & printed in newspapers across America. ~
"Together, we will lead our party back to the White House, and we will lead our country back to safety, prosperity, and peace. We will be a country of generosity and warmth. But we will also be a country of law and order.
The most important difference between our plan and that of our opponents, is that our plan will put America First. Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo.
We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities.
The American People will come first once again. My plan will begin with safety at home – which means safe neighborhoods, secure borders, and protection from terrorism.
Big business, elite media and major donors are lining up behind the campaign of my opponent because they know she will keep our rigged system in place. They are throwing money at her because they have total control over everything she does. She is their puppet, and they pull the strings.
This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction terrorism and weakness.
To all Americans tonight, in all our cities and towns, I make this promise: We Will Make America Strong Again.
We Will Make America Proud Again.
We Will Make America Safe Again.
And We Will Make America Great Again."

Evan Bayh is not getting my vote. I will not vote for any down ticket races if Trump is not on the ticket.
Let the chips fall where they may. Todd Young (GOP candidate opposite Bayh) is an ex Marine officer. If he can't speak out and defend trump, he can go down in flames as far asI am concerned. I am really, really angry, especially because there is no way this happened without the Bush family being involved.
I intend to desert the GOP and register as an independent. I will no longer support these quiclings who only care about their cushy jobs and zero for the American people.
I have looked into the faces of men and women laid off due to globalization at the food pantry. I have seen fear and despair in their eyes. I care about those people. Obviously, the GOP in DC do not.
So, I am done with them. I will support whatever resistance to this forms, whether it be a 3rd party headed by one of the Trump kids, Pat Buchanan, Lou Dobbs, or whoever.
If things go from bad to worse, I will cook for the insurgent army. I am that mad.
I will no longer associate with these awful people. They are snakes.

A part of me is actually relieved that this is all out in the open now. The sides have been drawn, we know where we stand, and the true nature of those who stand against us. We've found our hill to die on (although hopefully not literally.) It is kind of strange that of all the people in the country to lead the charge, it would be Donald Trump. The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways.
He's got guts, though. I'll give him that. I have to admit I was afraid last night and this morning he would bail on us, because the pressure to do must have been other wordly.

“The crude comments made by Donald J. Trump more than 11 years ago cannot be defended. But the godless progressive agenda of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton likewise cannot be defended. I am not endorsing any candidates in this election. I have said it throughout this presidential campaign, and I will say it again—both candidates are flawed.
The only hope for the United States is God. Our nation’s many sins have permeated our society, leading us to where we are today. But as Christians we can’t back down from our responsibility to remain engaged in the politics of our nation.
On November 8th we will all have a choice to make. The two candidates have very different visions for the future of America. The most important issue of this election is the Supreme Court. That impacts everything.
There’s no question, Trump and Clinton scandals might be news for the moment, but who they appoint to the Supreme Court will remake the fabric of our society for our children and our grandchildren, for generations to come.“

I’ve had it with this crappy liberal progressive media. And here’s a warning, since you don’t want to report what’s actually happening in the world, there will be a consequence. Many across this great Nation know of your blatant and obvious collusion with the Obama administration and the Hillary Clinton campaign, like CNN’s Wolf Blitzer dancing and singing at the DNC convention. A solid contingent of folks are going to ensure you are not dancing and singing the evening of November 8th.
As for Donald Trump and this audio tape from 11 years ago, “what difference at this point does it make”…seems that rant worked for a corrupt liar who did not answer the 3am call and had an Ambassador and three other Americans killed on her watch.
