The NY Times laments the lack of attention paid to climate change during the current Presidential "campaign". In a pathetic bid for clicks they troll us with this:
“When nobody talks about the issue, the clear signal is that this isn’t very important,” Dr. Leiserowitz said. “Ultimately, it comes down to one of the most precious resources on the planet, human attention.”
He also said that when public figures such as President Obama, Pope Francis and Leonardo DiCaprio talked about climate change, it could influence how much the public says they care about climate change...
Uhh, one of those things is not like the others (and no, the eye-catching divergence is not on skin tone, except for racially-obsessed progressive bean-counters).
But, and you can only imagine my surprise, those names weren't picked form a hat - Leo has a documentary coming out which includes, some big names:
Friends in high places: Trailer for jet-setting Leo's new environmental documentary 'Before The Flood' stars Obama, Pope Francis and of course DiCaprio himself
So droll of them to note that climate change is not quite enough of a crisis for Leo to forego the private jets. And I am old enough to remember talk of "limousine liberals".
ERRATA: I will never find a link to verify this but burned in my memory is an old Normal Lear ("All In The Family" anecdote. His car pulled up in front of some pollution/climate conference or other and he hopped out of his very fancy BMW. Asked whether he understood the contrast between his message and his mode of transportation, his reply was something like "I get it, its a polluting gas-guzzler and we can't go on like this - but have you felt the ride?"
Whatever. Maybe Hillary should tell Leo to get a life.
COMPLETING THE LIST: Back in a famous 1998 article describing young Leo's night-clubbing antics with, well, the Pussy Posse, we complete the circle:
When he goes to a club, people start screaming and jumping over the security guards and elbowing and pushing to get near him."
And that's not just the civilians. "The models are all over him," says Jeffrey Jah, director of the club Life. "He's got rock stars, Puff Daddy, Donald Trump, going over to his table to sit with him. Leo just comes in to hang out with his friends."
Oy.

WSJ lead editorial criticizes Trump for his "rigged" language. Anyone with half a brain understands that by "rigged" he doesn't mean "fixed," but rather that it's not an even playing field with the media, including debate "moderators," 99.9% against him.
Just for reminder, here are various headlines from 2 months back:
Debbie Wasserman Schultz Resigns From DNC In Wake Of WikiLeaks Email Dump
---DNC Chairwoman Caught Red-Handed, Rigging Electoral Process for Clinton
---DNC chair Schultz resigns following WikiLeaks revelations
---Bernie Supporters: Debbie Wasserman Schultz Resignation Not Enough
And here's the WaPo with a bit of why she had to resign:
Washington Post: DNC Chairwoman Caught Red-Handed, Rigging Electoral Process for Clinton
"Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida was forced aside by the release of thousands of embarrassing emails among party officials that appeared to show coordinated efforts to help Clinton at the expense of her rivals in the Democratic primaries"
Trump ought to bring up Debbie Wasserman Schultz and recommend the Media interview her as Exhibit A for "rigged elections."
Amazing that DWS has no problem pulling every dirty trick in the book in order to steal an Election from Bernie and his supporters, and those were her DEM allies, and everybody in DC knows and admits it happened, yet for some inexplicable reason the WSJ, WaPo, etc, seem to think that the DEM's would only "rig elections" against their Democrat allies, yet would not "rig elections" against their political opponents that they really truly do hate.
Does that make any sense to anyone older than a kindergartner? They only steal from their friends, not from their enemies?

Miss M,
Looking for the WaPo original story yesterday on asking for citizens to join in to read Sarah Palin's e-Mails, I could hit the link for the WaPo story, and it will come up, but only for the period of about 1 second total, too quick for me to be able to get a paste of the URL address. It immediately switches right over to the current WaPo front page, thereby denying us the ability to read what the WaPo wrote and any comments about it. I had to get what the WaPo wrote from 3rd sources at the time.
You can see for yourself how the WaPo stymies the reader.
Go to this 2009 Politico story I link here,
This will pop up.
WaPo, NYT to crowdsource Palin emails
A massive trove of nearly 25,000 pages of Sarah Palin’s emails from her time as governor of Alaska will be released tomorrow, and the Washington Post has come up with a novel way of dealing with them – ask readers to pitch in.
Scroll down and click on the words "ask readers" that I have bolded in the 3rd sentence, and you will see the WaPo story pop up, but only for a second---you will then be immediately redirected to todays WaPo, and you cannot get to that original story---they buried it. Sneaky bastards.

Video #2 *should* be used to show the voter fraud that has been committed by the leftists/'progressives' - for every election for at least the next 20 years.
Even George Will, of all people, recognized it yesterday when he described the left's voter fraud efforts.
He said that if the courts do not consider the requirement to show ID to fly on a plane a material obstacle to our right to travel, then a requirement to show ID to vote *CANNOT* be a material obstacle to our right to vote.
The GOP needs to hang "Voter Fraud" around the neck of the donks like the harnesses on the Budweiser Clydesdales.

-- Bush may very well have proven a formidable opponent for Clinton in November, his candidacy failed to resonate with the Republican base.--
In the real world, it is absolutely vital that your candidacy resonate with the base, if you want to have any hope of winning the election. That's why they call it a "base." Duh!
Bet the article also doesn't mention Mrs. Bush's little episode with the jewelry either. But corporate media would never have reported on that, right?

Gov. Jeb Bush's wife, Columba, was fined by customs officials in Atlanta for failing to declare $19,000 in clothing and jewelry she bought in a trip to Paris this week.

Jeb's wife smuggling and his daughter's drug problem were the big obstacles. One thing you can say about Mitch Daniels, and that is that he didn't want to put his wife through the democrat meat-grinder. Jeb had no such compunctions, and their lives would have been a living hell.

O'Keefe's work is brilliant. But wait! there's more!
Wikileaks, if it can get out there, may help to restore our institutions.
The Left has gone all in and exposed themselves finally. They will print any lie, slander or propaganda willingly and enthusiastically in favor of their crazy ass agenda. We know who they are now. We can find out where they live. And we can counterprotest.
Remember the day the Tea Party marched on Washington? We may think the Bernie supporters may be off the deep end, but they have viewed this mess through a purposely distorted lens. Maybe they can be reached after the travesty that the DNC pulled on Sanders.
The rocks have been turned over and the cronies and crooks and their tactics are writhing like the worms they are. What we need now is a magnifying lens to fry their asses into oblivion.
Say it: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore".

hrt-jeb's role as chair of the PEPG at the kennedy school of governemnt and what he advocates for there makes him a corrupt technocrat. His role as chair of the Aspen Institute Task Force "Students at the Center of a Networked World" makes him a toady in service of using American schools to further the long time unesco dream of implementing a science of consciousness to further their global UN Marxist Humanist agenda. That's not an accusation. Bush writes using the precise nesco terms over and over again.
Maybe he sees it as furthering poppy's agenda too while lining his own pockets so Columba can shop. Please quit being his cheerleader. The media that refuses to cover the clintons' mass corruption would have had a lot to work with in jeb and they would have covered it until the typical voter found him as repugnant as I do since I have to deal with his shenanigans.

jib-I made a chuck roast sunday that I had marinaded overnight in a bourbon, soy sauce etc mixture. Slow cooked it for about four hours at 300 and then pulled apart with a fork. Meanwhile I chopped several shallots and sauteed them. Added the marinade mixture and let it cook down. Added dijon with whole mustard seeds to cut sweetness and then cream.
Then added the pulled apart meat to the cream sauce and served over pappardalle noodles. It was like a beef stroganoff but with me not trying to do individual pieces of meet. Had it for lunch last two days and hubby ate for dinner last night as I still get tired easily.
Bet I am a better cook than Columba.

Scott Foval's (former) boss is Brad Woodhouse, head of Correct The Record, Brock's multimillion dollar campaign to spread disinfo on social media (and downvote/crush good info on sites like Reddit).

All this crap goes right to Brock. These are all branches of his conglomerate. How delicious would it be if he got taken down?

How scary is it for us all to now know that our government is willing to frame someone for espionage and pedophilia? It's basically acknowledging that there is nothing it will not do. And nothing it won't stoop to doing to any of us at anytime.

maryrose, I'm not sure what you mean, but Texas is solid red. :)

Drudge is doing what he can to get the truth out. It's amazing the evildoers haven't found a plausible way to take him out and/or take down his site.
Well they got pretty close with Instapundit Glenn Reynolds 2 weeks back, (Politico: USA Today suspends columnist Glenn Reynolds for one month),
and they are trying like crazy to shut up Sheriff Clarke of Milwaukee like they are trying to shut up Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, so give them time.

Remember, Assange's lawyer mysteriously fell in front of a train a few weeks back.
It's weird having your tinfoil hat conspiracies confirmed.

Cookbook is from the late 80s and recipes from the ravinia Festival outside the windy city. (Hi Mel!). Same source for my brisket and cioppino recipe.
jib--i used a dutch oven.
5 oz. soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup bourbon
1 TBS lemon juice
1 TSP worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups water
3.5 to 5.5 pounds pot roast
After first hour baste every 30 to 45 minutes.
I am not the most traditional mom but all my kids love to come home to me cooking. It is as big a component of who I am to them as teaching them all to read. I never understood all the things I altered when I did that.

rse,
I taught my kids to read, too. In those days it was easy because there was Bill Cosby's PBS show after Sesame Street, so I used phonics and the old Richard Scarry books (before they got PC'd in the later editions).
Best thing I ever did.

Trump: End the corruption and drain the swamp!

Fox News Election map has Georgia and Texas leaning Republican and Florida leaning Dem.

I want Brock taken down in the worst way.

What can I say? They're wrong. :)

maryrose,
Don't believe anything Fox News is telling us. Murdoch has the fix in. Believe me. It is truly on the side of the Clinton corporate kleptomatic society.

Trump covered the DNC hiring protesters. Said it wasn't covered in media.
Audience boos media.

maryrose, it would be glorious.
In my more un-Christian moments, which are abundant, I often wonder why the bad guys never seem to be taken out by health problems or car accidents. Their guys always seem to live forever, but we have to lose Lee Atwater at age 40.

I can't keep up on The_Donald but apparently Fox people (Cavuto, Regan, others) are playing bits of O'Keefe #2 video this afternoon and Bret Baier is going to play the whole thing.
Big difference from yesterday when Hannity was the only one who would touch video #1. Very heartening.

maryrose, I'm not sure what you mean, but Texas is solid red. :)
Cavuto showed a map today that had Texas and
Georgia leaning red now.

Reuters has Trump +17 in Texas. Washington Post has him +2. Obviously they both can't be right. So use your own judgement.

Thanks maryrose and lurkersusie. I love Cavuto, but Georgia and Texas are nothing but red.
