So we are getting the Cubs-Native Americans World Series the world wanted, and the longest Series drought in one league or the other will come to an end.
For myself, I normally back the American League entrant. This year has a special plot twist - while watching a Yankees game with a fellow Yankees fan who is a Cleveland native, I suggested that since the Yankees were dead and nearly buried, we should switch loyalties.
And now here we are, poised to guide our adopted team to victory!
But enoiugh about me. Hillary is on record as being a Cubs fan, so even though Ohio is a swing state she probably has to ride that pony.
As to Trump, he is a Yankees fan who also likes the Mets so his league loyalty is unclear. However! Trump and former Yankee owner, The Boss, General George S. Steinbrenner (late) have a lot of overlap in terms of deportment. And The Boss was originally from Ohio, so there you go - Trump gets Cleveland.
Go Cubs!

So buckeye, that was one heck of a game, huh? I cannot help that waking up to day to discover Ohio had been utterly humiliated by Penn State made my morning. Watched the highlights on ESPN.
I've had to try to overcome my complete and total hatred of The Ohio State as it is the site that accepted a good friend who failed bone marrow transplant as treatment of her lymphoma for a cutting edge study where her T cells were harvested and treated in a lab to attack her B cell lymphoma, but it's not been easy.

I don't know why BOzo has made Anchorage a dumping ground for unwanted, unvetted foreign hoards, other than AK having comparatively few people available to raise a ruckus.
DebinNC,
As we saw during "L'affair Ted Stevens" which enabled the election of DEM Mark Begich, (the Deciding Vote for ObamaCare), Alaska is a small population and easy to flip. All you have to do is:
---Make sure all print and television News media is totally Left wing (Check)
--- kill all the decent jobs (Check)
---thereby pushing people into having to accept being on some form of government welfare (Check)
---decrease the size of the Military up here to squelch the Conservative vote (Check)
--- and import tons of new voters beholden to big Government paychecks (Check)
If I was them and that was my goal I'd be doing the very same thing.

Beasts and any other ferrari lovers--Red and I were at phipps late this afternoon to pick up something she needed while it was on sale. Being practical and decided to go out the front and cross peachtree to make a grocery store run. We see a silver new ferrari that I had never seen before and pull behind it. Marvelous engine sounds and I remember the old 911's. For some reason it still had the dealer plates but the dealer was beverly hills ferrari. (Why would someone flatbed it to atlanta?)
Looking at it as we were at light red found it as a 458 spyder. Driver had on backwards facing baseball cap of some sort. I asked red if it was tyler perry but she said not he would not fit well. Whatever.
My goodness. Tigers do not purr like that car did.

Buckeye, she had initial chemo about five years ago. She relapsed last spring; had the bone marrow transplant last summer. This June, she found another node, so joined up with another mamadoc, hit the Google, and found this program under study. Harvest T cells, treat them with some virus that causes them to attack the B cells that are the lymphoma in her.
Do I recall correctly that your son is heme/onc? Her doc there is a gal.
Very cool stuff. Won't be happening if Hillary has her way--we'll all just die in a tiemly fashion.

I think they're pushing her certainty in winning because they have nothing left to report. They can't cover Wiki, they can't cover her - as she's in hiding again - the Trump 'scandals' aren't moving the needle; so it's all they have.
I'm actually encouraged. Last night during garbage time on the thread, I stopped over at the SMH (Sydney Morning Herald) front page and saw their smug take. The top 3 stories were an SNL skit mocking trump, Salma Hayak saying Trump planted gossip about her since she wouldn't kiss him, and some Pron Starlet saying Trump asked her for sexual relations. I had seen none of that in our media, so I think Beasts is right that they realize the Trump 'scandals' aren't moving the needle."
Now today when I look at the SMH front page, the Pron Star story has completely vanished. (Is it possible even the SMH can catch a clue?) On the home SMH web page there are still 11 Anti-Trump stories (just counted them). No stories on Hillary BTW, and the big Pron Starlet story is nowhere to be seen.
Not a single SMH story mentioning Wikileaks, Assange, Project Veritas, or anything at all having to do with Hillary's negatives of DEM corruption. Their opinion is valueless since it is based on nothing. They're like the AP on
steroidsquaaludes.Posted by: daddy | October 23, 2016 at 06:55 PM
TRUMP once tried to purchase the Indians.
If that letter was to Gabe Paul, that was when Steve O'Neill or his estate (he died in 1983) owned the team and he was adamant that anybody who bought the team had to guarantee they wouldn't move it from Cleveland. His family lost a LOT of money from the continued ownership of a financial sponge which they offset slightly by selling some of the farm teams. O'Neill isn't remembered as fondly by fans as I think he deserved unlike Dick Jacobs who is unjustly lionized imo.
George Steinbrenner tried to buy the Indians and was turned down for an unknown reason (maybe he wouldn't pledge to never move them despite being originally from Bay Village iirc) before he bought the Yankees.

The doc is a hematologist. He has encouraged Jr. to go the same route as he thinks he has the right skill set to run a lab, etc. Grooming him.
Jr. decided to do a stint as hospitalists for a year and think about whether he really wants to do the lab thing or just do heme/onc fellowship with objective to be clinician.

Stephanopolous (sp?) is reduced to quoting People magazine.
That was "the tell" Janet.
Surprised Georgie didn't bring up the Pron star.
What I really notice from George Stephie interviews is that he is completely uninterested in any of the answers that come from his political opponents if those answers do not make those political opponents look bad. He never has a moment where he actually accepts the sensible comments as a point for learning that then provokes in George a bit of thoughtfulness and follow up to where an unexpected thoughtful answer might led. He is absolutely uninterested in learning anything from his political opponents. If the answers are firm and intelligent and make his political opponents case, as in Eric Trump's case above, then he immediately moves on as rapidly as possible to another inquisitorial question to try to trip up his "guest."
But if the "guest" is of his political persuasion, then the interview is a completely different animal. In that case it becomes George refraining from his rapid fire inquisition, and trying instead to buttress his "fellow Travelers" opinions or help them get out of trouble. The ultimate example:
Obama: You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim Faith, and you're absolutely right that that is not something that...
George Stephanapoulos: "You're Christian Faith!!"
Obama: "Uhhh, My Christian Faith, and uhhh...
My Muslim Faith.

In that way, Stephanopoulos is the exact opposite of my fav Dennis Prager. Dennis wants to know what someone thinks and why they think it. He is looking for clarity. He is not out to attack anyone, but instead is out to learn from them and to honestly understand their position. That is Dennis's motive---he can handle disagreement without any problem, and without any animus or aggression or condescension. He values honesty and clarity.
Stephanopoulos is exactly the opposite. He gives not one damn what anyone thinks if they don't already publicly agree with whatever opinion he is told to hold during the interview. His intent is to find fault, to criticize, and to diminish, just as 97% of the rest of the TV Media are trying to do. If the guest is on his side it's a cakewalk. If the guest is an enemy it's an inquisition.
That is why, for those of you who don't get Dennis Prager reruns on your dog walks, I am such a fan of Dennis Prager.
Speaking of dog walks...

I know ... no different at all, alas.
There can be no meaningful change unless and until some semblence of ideological balance is restored, or created, in the major institutions that create and shape "public opinion" and "conventional wisdom". Namely, the MSM, academia, Hollywood/entertainment, unions, and government bureaucracies.
Until then, conservatism will continue to fight a losing battle for "hearts and minds" and we will continue our Leftward slide into oblivion .... or until the rest of us do what's necessary to prevent ourselves from going over the cliff with the other lemmings.

Indeed, these institutions may be damaging their credibility in the minds of those paying attention. But so many of the electorate have already been dumbed down, misinformed, maleducated, brainwashed and indoctrinated, and are now so myopic, apathetic and dependent on government for so much that they can't make good decisions at the ballot box.
I worry that although this loss of credibility may force the Leftists in these institutions to tone down their blatant partisanship somewhat, and will force them to make better pretenses at "objectivity" and "farness", it won't lead to any real change in the ideological composition of their employees or principals, unless some other external force compels them to bring better balance.
It won't happen through retirements or normal attrition. Leftists will simply continue to hire Leftists.

Per WSJ, McAwful gave half a million to the campaign of the wife of the deputy director of the FBI, who oversaw the Clintoon investigation. Coincidence.

Kia Soul, 666 XUK. Car has bumper sticker that says BABY ON BOARD.
Nice. Heading into the hood from SHERMAN BLVD and GOOD HOPE heading South. Quite near the RIOT scene from 2 months ago.

back when the spectator was perhaps my only window out of the cave, john corry, who was a former tv critic at the times, handled the media criticism at that publication, back then they were doctrinaire leftists, but they still had saffire and abe rosenthal, providing some kind of balance, the notion of gay marriage was just beginning to percolate back in that era, but it was an eccentricity, they were one of the few publications who were adamant against the intervention in kosovo,

I agree with Iggy. I think Conway was able to focus Trump and she speaks from a woman's perspective and brings years of experience. Overall, I think she has benefitted Trump. However, I dislike hearing any member of the Trump campaign say that he is behind!!

At the time, I supported the US actions in the Balkans mainly because I had studied enough history to know that trouble there always seemed to spread to the rest of Europe, and I was appalled that the Europeans had let those wars fester for so long in the 90's without doing something about it themselves.
I also believed the stories put out by the MSM about the Serb atrocities against the Muslims and the dangers of the rising "nationalism" of Milosevic, Karadzic, Tudman, et al.
Now, I think we were lied to, and I wonder if maybe the Serbs and the other Christian forces were just on the front lines of the Islamist jihad that we're all now fighting, and maybe they were simply responding to the Muslim atrocities committed against them by foreign jihadis who had trained in AQ camps in Afghanistan during Clinton's Holiday from History.

Porch is correct, Ig.
I think she is doing well. Others think differently.
I was drawing a conclusion based on what I am reading from negative-land.

At this stage in the race, you NEVER talk about the possibility of losing.
What can be going on in her mind to give such a wimpy interview?

You obviously have not seen the interviews.
We are reaching Cheerleader territory here.

I know this is cynical, but I believe that Conway is more interested in what she is doing after this election is over than she is interested in getting Donald Trump elected. She's a pollster. It seems that she's trying to maintain her creds with the media. Big mistake, IMHO

this seems increasingly clear, fd, the sauds ran camps in the stans, and used the balkans and the caucasuses as their field of fire, some of the hijacker were in one or both theatres, hence the willingness for consulates around the world to look the other way,
