Oh boy, we're getting hit with a barrage of ads from "lifelong Republicans who fought in Iraq" who worry about what their little girls will think with somebody who talks about women like Trump does in the White House. Do you worry about them getting raped by Slick or one of the Islamic vermin that you claim you fought against that Curb Dive is opening the doors to? And one uses the Zippy term of ISIL, sign of the Jew haters. These assholes are just further evidence of why the GOP has been such trash ever since Reagan and needs to be burned to the ground. Enjoy your vote for a treasonous drunk, Repukes.
Went to bed without our little Lady the Beagle. She was still out there following her nose. This morning I got up went downstairs to feed the other two and opened the door to let them out back and who came waltzing in but Lady:)
She found her way back (natch) because she is 1) a beagle and 2) she is hungry, tired and cold. Slept on one of our cushioned chairs on the back porch between two pillows.
Here is a web site put together by a private citizen of the 100 most damaging things from the Wikileaks Podesta emails.
Each item includes links to the emails plus explanation of why it is damaging, for people who don't have the whole story. Pretty useful if you either need to look something up or show an undecided why Hillary is not acceptable.
We voted mid-afternoon yesterday. In and out, no waiting. I voted straight R, except for my U.S. House Rep who was running unopposed and didn't deserve my vote. My state rep/senator, both Rs, were also unopposed. Only about 1/3 of the offices on the ballot had both an R and a D, and all the Rs were incumbents. At least I left satisfied I'd voted and that in our NW GA district Dems aren't elected to any office and, other than for a few lower level exceptions, don't even bother running.
Had dinner last night with 6 Trump supporters (including 2, 80 year old lesbians) and 2 Hillary supporters. The Hillary supporter told me the only fair news on the planet is on PBS. (I was trying very hard to not talk politics so I didn't ask him what pBS was reporting on project Veritas.) Most interesting part was his comment on how much he hated the Tea Party because they are all religious zealots.
I told him I started the Tea Party in my town and I'm not religious. His reply was "yes you are".
Several times this year I've posted the group picture on the official U.S. House GOP site showing (long gone) Eric Cantor clapping happily in the foreground, (long gone) Speaker Boehner smiling in the middle, a bemused Paul Ryan in the background, and my GOPe guy smiling on the left next to then Speaker in Waiting Kevin McCarthy.
Just checked and there's a new official House GOP pic and it's even worse. Other than the dour looking Ryan off to the side, who are these people? Who is that woman front and center, and why does she seem to be in pain? Who are those unhappy men surrounding her? Is there anything about that pic that inspires confidence or hope? No imo.
It's biased (and that headline). But it's also a look inside the Trump operation that is more complete than I have seen. I wonder what people who post here will think of it.
Take a look at this clip from special report via GAteway Pundit, further validates RG's thesis.
"Brunell is an attorney and former Democratic Lt. Gov. Candidate for the state of Illinois."
Brunell Donald-Kyei:: “We want tougher immigration. To make sure that our borders are safe! That we are not fighting illegal aliens and refugees for jobs! Americans are tired of fighting other people for jobs! That frustration is real. That hurt is real. And for the pols and different people to dismiss that? It’s not right!”
“The most important issue to me is economics. Because the last eight years – the economy – the poor people of this nation have suffered. The middle class has suffered. And let me tell you something: The American people don’t want to be dealing with a President going into office with all the baggage, with all the investigations that are going to be on top of Hillary Clinton.
Our nation needs to heal. We want to heal. We want peace between the races. We want to make sure that our youth, whether they’re white, black, Hispanic – have jobs! We want to make sure that the Constitution is protected! Those are American issues! that has absolutely nothing to do with your race. That’s to protect this nation! And we want tougher immigration. To make sure that our borders are safe! That we are not fighting illegal aliens and refugees for jobs! Americans are tired of fighting other people for jobs! That frustration is real. That hurt is real. And for the pols and different people to dismiss that? It’s not right!”

Headed to Toledo today for the 4pm Trump Rally. He's got three rallies in Ohio today and is visiting New Hampshire, Maine, and Iowa tomorrow.
Appalled, it took three paragraphs to see that the Bloomberg article was crap on toast.
When I got to "Trump's frustrated demeanor" I quit reading. Has the jackass who wrote the article watched a single one of Trump's rallies or listened to a single one of his speeches?
He and everyone at Bloomberg can die in that beautiful, yuge cleansing fire.
Right on cue the pollster begin to find "movement" as they migrate their polls back to closer to reality. In that vein, we have as exhibit one ABC/WaPo saying today the lead is 6 points down from 12 last week. It was never 12 and they know that they are going to be judged on the accuracy of their last poll, so they have to claim movement. Without looking, I will proclaim quite confidently that most or all of the change is the butcher taking his thumb off the scale.
You dig in further, you get an interesting description of his political operation. This is not an article about Trump's rallies, or what he says in them. It's how his political folks operate, and how they are building for the long haul.
I'll take your word for it, Appalled. It's not worth my time to keep reading once the author tips his hand with a line like "frustrated demeanor." If he wants to communicate to people outside of his poisonous little MSM bubble, he can make the effort to open his mind first.
I made it farther than James did. I was encouraged that Trump and his team, no matter what happens, intends on continuing to remake the GOP which is badly overdue as Romney's whining to his dipshit supporters illustrates.
Where I stopped reading was when they said Trump was damaging the GOP's outreach to minorities and women, which is a complete load of shit.
Deb-third in from left to the back appears to me to be Tom Price, the congress critter from part of north metro. I think he may have saved me from being represented by the not such a hero anymore john lewis.
Shared an elevator with price when he was speaking at georgian club at the galleria by where the new braves stadium is going in.
James D., I suggest you read to the end of the article. The article details an impressive voter outreach and voter suppression operation Trump has developed in a short period of time without support of the political establishment. It also indicates that Trump's people know whom they need to reach to win. On that point, the slant of the article is that Trump won't reach enough of the truly persuadables to pull it off. People can disagree reasonably about that. If thoughtful friends such as Sue and CT take that view, it is certainly a reasonable view.
And now I will repeat my plea for friends such as Appalled and TM and Theo to vote for Trump. You really don't want to be a part of putting into the POTUSey the most corrupt, compromised and demonstrably incompetent individual ever to have held that office. If there ever was a question about that, Wikileaks, what has come out about the FBI investigation from the FBI itself, the NY Post article on the comments of the FBI investigators, and what has come out from FOIA requests should put it to rest.
Nice future coming from TSA. Note they take multiple biomarkers for ID... giving them a file of all possible biometric security triggers to open you phones etc. I'm sure they will keep this infor as secure as they do CMS files on our military people.
"Hillary Clinton appears on the cusp of a potentially commanding victory over Donald Trump, fueled by solid Democratic turnout in early voting, massive operational advantages and increasing enthusiasm among her supporters."
The guy with the grey mustache looks like David McKinley from West Virginny. The woman with two thirds of her face cut off might be Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
The guy with the white mustache is Tom Price, rse? None of them look like Tom Price to me. The one to the right of the lone woman looks like Barry Loudermilk, another of the new good guys like Tom Price. Loudermilk represents Bartow Co. next to me, which iirc includes Cartersville. He's not smiling either, which seems appropriate given what the House under Ryan has managed not to achieve.
The Wonder Women, Gods of war, remake really shouldn't go the lost, unknown special genetic trait route. This has already been done by many SciFi movies, usually involving ancient space alien technology access and creation of life forms, like perfected human machines. Boring. Its not a state of mind that has them made in creation and perfected. Its physiology, hence 'give me those special genetics.' Commercial genetics just found another mystery genetic sequence in pacific islanders anyway. I doubt they'll be devils and rapture the humans into another dimension or whatever. It would also freakout too many GAD and PTSD triggers if Wonder Womens, Gods of War, went around searching for selective genetics harvests to keep their special powers and life spans. Anyway, as pepe knows 'there can be only one.'
And, of course, what aboug the stolen offspring of the WW, GoW, program. All female.
Anyway, cia already does this. Then the harvested are made sterile.😜
SBW...whatever the outcome, there are going to be a LOT of surprised people. More, and more deliciously, if Trump wins and that will be an immediate reaction. If the communist bitch wins, then the shock will come more slowly when all the useful idiots and precious snowflakes come to realize that they killed the golden goose and ate it.
Well, that seems to point to the only fellow wearing glasses. He certainly looks excited to be there, doesn't he? .... NOT!
I'll trump your almost ending up with John Lewis with the Supreme Court finally stepping in after several torturous yrs. to remove us from Cynthia McKinney's "land bridge stretching along I-75 from South Atlanta to North Macon" Dem gerrymandered district.
Take a look at TC's comment, re article. The guy who wrote did a lot of good reporting. Somebody (not sure if it was the reporter or the editor) felt the need to decorate it with a lot of commentary.
I spend more time than I should reading this sort of thing, both left and right, because, frankly, I feel it is the ideological types who have the energy to get past the acres of lazy reporting that we are afflicted with these days. Bias isn't that hard to filter, really.
Never heard of her, so it makes sense the GOPe would choose her to be front and center in the pic meant to represent them all. I guess all the GOP women capable of smiling or at least looking pleasant were away that day.
If the communist bitch wins, then the shock will come more slowly when all the useful idiots and precious snowflakes come to realize that they killed the golden goose and ate it.
I'm still wondering if the herd of RINOs who say Curb Dive has secretly promised to work with them are so dumb they believe that or if they mean will quickly pass amnesty with them and pursue other donor class faves.
Many of my Dem friends are hot to vote early this year. 100% of them are reliable D voters and were going to vote anyway. The only metric that matters is whether a given population is going to vote, not when.
Reports from news and friends say lines are long at all the early voting stations....except the huge urban supermarket whose customers are overwhelmingly Mexican. Apparently there's very little activity there.
Yes, deb, he is looking away from camera. I actually got a phone call from mackinney at my office years ago when I was treasurer of a healthcare pac. Her dad billy was a foul character too.
Lewis was my rep for years except I voted in florida. This is my first pres election voting in Ga since bush-gore.
"What is clear from reading them is that Hillary Clinton was not running the State Department"
To say she's Marie Antoinette would be an insult to the French Queen. She was just the figurehead presiding over a branch of Clinton Crime, Inc. this is what we are in for if, God forbid, she is elected.
FL early voting update. Repubs still leading in total of early-vote-in-person + mail-in. 10+ Republican counties have not started voting in person yet. Much more at link.
Hillary was, is, and will be nothing more than a figurehead for the CCF and it's evil twin, the horde of open border globalists who want one world which they rule. The amazing thing is, they don't even care that they are just running her as the cutout ham sandwich because they need a name on the ballot.
This is why Bush's failure yo respond to the ginned up ambassador Munchausen-Plame crapola was such a disaster for America. A fine man (GW) with no street smarts.
And she is just the extreme version of what most politicians devolve to. Apparatchiks surrounded by sycophants who do their bidding, the sole purpose of which is to maintain themselves in power and to bring in more cash.
Paul Ryan, as annoying as he is, is not that (yet). He's the naive idealist who actually imagines government can be something more. Unfortunately, given what government actually is, the only solution is for it be something much less. That's what Ryan doesn't get.
That is Kathy McMorris Rogers in front. Steve Scalise is bottom front left.
If you go into the leadership photos you can identify the rest. Doing it I learned that Jim Jordan, that hound dog on a ham bone inquisitor, was once the most accomplished high school wrestler in Ahia. From Urban country to the west of Cowlumbus. Went to Wisconsin to rassle.
If thoughtful friends such as Sue and CT take that view, it is certainly a reasonable view
Since I seem to miss everytime that this feeling is reciprocated, regarding other's reasonable views, I am unable to fully agree on the "thoughtful friends" assessment.
Hillary and MOzo rally today in BOzo's beloved Research Triangle area of NC. Tomorrow Hillary has 2 small get out the vote events in Iowa and then she's in hiding until election day in NY.

when her image is put into the incompetent hands of Speaker "Bubble Boy" Ryan.
It's a terrible picture in almost all cases, like something I would trash immediately off my iPhone because most of the members are out of focus in addition to having unflattering looks on their mugs. It's pretty representative of the piss poor marketing efforts of a party that claims to be really really concerned about that.
I don't need reciprocation to think another's views are reasonable, TK. It's fine if someone thinks I'm a nut. I'll apply my own standards of reasonableness in evaluating their views.
But I never have that issue with you, TK, because I think your views are reasonable, even when I disagree with them, and I don't recall you calling me a nut.
On the other hand, perhaps you are restraining yourself in not calling me a nut. :-)

I read it all the way to the end. The last sentence was kinda of a cheap shot ... the RNC wouldn't be the first to go into business with Trump and end up poorer for it.
meh ... the picture with the 300ish pound Asian guy with the diet coke was a nice touch too.
The LATimes tried to help us understand the Trump phenomenon ...
He said he was a Ted Cruz supporter. “Out of 17 Republican candidates we started with, I can’t believe it’s Trump.”
Part of him thinks Trump’s candidacy is a conspiracy by the media to help Clinton win. He’s voting for him anyway. He’s tired of the Democrats, entitlement programs and the way things have drifted.
“People are running out of money. They’re getting squeezed,” he said. “It’s more expensive to fix newer cars. The parts are technological. I’m working on a lot of older and older cars.” He paused. He talked about how things once were, the sky alight and humming with the making of steel. Big, steamy magic that rose along the shoals and, like a net, spread in all directions, giving a boy a sense of fear and wonder.
“A good part of Youngstown is a welfare state now,” he said. He bought a house a while back but he’s noticed that other owners are renting their homes to people who see the world differently. “I’ve got houses full of idiots around me,” he said. “No one goes to work. But they never run out of money for dope or malt liquor. That kind of irks me.”
Trump is a populist candidate who is realigning the electorate. He'll win if the realignment is big enough. Those Axiom state polls, if true, that show him getting 20-24% of the black vote in states like Florida indicate it might be. As does stories like this :
These are lifelong Dems who are voting for Trump because what he says is resonating with them. They aren't viewing this election through a Democrat/Republican prism, but rather through a government vs. the people or globalism vs. nationalism prism (even though those are probably not the words they would use).
My gut feeling (based on the Axiom state polls and the way he's been campaigning) is that he's close to getting the electoral votes that he needs. He's nailing down Florida and Ohio and NC this week. If we see him camping out in PA next week, then I think he has a shot.
If you are going to find one objectionable Item, find leading figures in your party who oppose you, and base your electoral choices on that, you are welcome to do that. Thing is, sometimes you have to look at what people are able to accomplish, and maybe temper your vote.
Both Will and CK recognize that the 2nd Amendment cannot be wished and penumbra-ed out of the Constitution. They want to change things the old fashioned way -- through the states. Does that make them peddlers of darkness? Or just someone with a different view?
>>>I'm still wondering if the herd of RINOs who say Curb Dive has secretly promised to work with them are so dumb they believe that or if they mean will quickly pass amnesty with them and pursue other donor class faves.

Its not called the stupid party for nothing. They will believe it and pass the donor dem agenda, then be surprised that they then get targeted in re-election. Comstock in VA-10 is a good example among a long list.
One wonders did Rove stay silent because norquist told him so, and that was what alamoudi told saffuri to say, consider their social circle, and conspiracy is less likely then consensus.

What do our poll crunchers think of this AP poll?
"Hillary Clinton appears on the cusp of a potentially commanding victory over Donald Trump, fueled by solid Democratic turnout in early voting, massive operational advantages and increasing enthusiasm among her supporters."

I spend more time than I should reading this sort of thing, both left and right, because, frankly, I feel it is the ideological types who have the energy to get past the acres of lazy reporting that we are afflicted with these days. Bias isn't that hard to filter, really.

henry,
Many of my Dem friends are hot to vote early this year.

Paul Ryan, as annoying as he is, is not that (yet). He's the naive idealist who actually imagines government can be something more. Unfortunately, given what government actually is, the only solution is for it be something much less. That's what Ryan doesn't get.

In it he quotes George Will and Chuckie Krauthammer as both desiring the disarming of Americans.
Why would I want to be in a party whose leading lights deny and would repeal the one right the Founders correctly saw as the major and most reliable bulwark against government tyranny?

It's a terrible picture in almost all cases, like something I would trash immediately off my iPhone because most of the members are out of focus in addition to having unflattering looks on their mugs. It's pretty representative of the piss poor marketing efforts of a party that claims to be really really concerned about that.

As does stories like this :
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/10/27/signs-of-monster-voters-appear-in-minnesota-cd8-trump-beating-clinton-by-12-points/
Posted by: derwill, yet another adorable, irredeemable deplorable | October 27, 2016 at 10:42 AM
Iggy:
If you are going to find one objectionable Item, find leading figures in your party who oppose you, and base your electoral choices on that, you are welcome to do that. Thing is, sometimes you have to look at what people are able to accomplish, and maybe temper your vote.
Both Will and CK recognize that the 2nd Amendment cannot be wished and penumbra-ed out of the Constitution. They want to change things the old fashioned way -- through the states. Does that make them peddlers of darkness? Or just someone with a different view?
