The new NY Times stuns us with a surprisingly upbeat depiction of Trump adviser Steve Bannon. They find a few straws in the wind but essentially give up on the "Bannon as racist, anti-Semitic bigot" meme - apparently he has two many black friends, Jewish friends and liberal friends who just haven't seen that.
On the other hand:
Where some perceive racism and nativism, others see a different -ism: opportunism. Whatever may be in his heart, they say, Mr. Bannon was happy to draw a white nationalist following to Breitbart, while denying that was his intent.
Ben Shapiro, a former Breitbart editor who has been sharply critical of Mr. Bannon, called him “a manipulator” who had “mainstreamed” far-right extremists for cynical political purposes.
Ms. Jones, Mr. Bannon’s former film collaborator, who describes herself as very liberal, said, “Steve’s not a racist.”
But, she added, “he’s using the alt-right — using them for power.”
Obviously Trump has played along, and mainstreaming these people is simply not acceptable.
Ann Althouse has more.
"Is that not also prejudice?"
El Capitan is hittin fungoes today as he does everyday.
In Leftworld "all prejudice" is "bad." "Tolerance" is "good."
The Tardz forget however that prejudice is merely a prejudgement. Also, and this next assertion is more about their ignorance than forgetfulness: a prejudice may be either positive or negative.
I taught my kids when they were small a prejudice that kept them safe: Do not take candy from strangers.
My parents taught me: Do not accept blankets from Jesuits.
In Leftworld the prejudgements of their "political opposition" abound. (We aren't fellow Americans mind you.)
Members of a religion which sets forth its code of religious laws which assert the highest calling is to bring infidels to Allah via conquest, the tax, or the sword.... those are not people I will intuitively trust, or give the benefit of the doubt.
It doesn't mean I will kill them. Just like I didn't tell my kids to slaughter the strange man offering them a snickers bar from inside his van. (That was my job.)

Well, I will find it easy to booycott Kellogg's and their affiliated products. Post cereals also makes a raisin bran, which is about the only cereal I buy. I am more of a rye toast person for breakfast.
Most large grocers sell their own brand of similar products (corn flakes, rice krispies, etc.) I know Kroger does.
Cheez-Its is hard, but I will sacrifice for the cause.
The reason is that Kellogg's needs to see that giving into the social justice warriors costs them MORE money than ignoring them.
Folks, it's the only way we can stop this stuff. Please consider doing so, and sending a note to Kellogg's customer relations.

Most large grocers sell their own brand of similar products (corn flakes, rice krispies, etc.) I know Kroger does.
Made by the Kellogg's and Pillsbury etc. They just package them in non brand boxes with no advertising costs and voila they cost less.
I did the asset inventory overhaul for Pillsbury at their pie crust facility in Covington and depending on the day of the week, the stuff rolling off the line was just repackaged in differing boxes. I do't think they even made any changes to the recipes... just 2 pallets boxed like this and 4 pallets boxed like that etc.
Which is one reason why I usually buy store brands... you don't pay for the advert and merchandising costs.

Posted by: henry - drunk on prog tears | November 29, 2016 at 06:54 PM
Stephanie,
Yes, I know. But it cuts into their bottom line if you absolutely HAVE to have the rice krispies.
Plus, it denigrates their brand.
I don't use much cereal, and the big sacrifice for me would be Cheez-its.
But I will do it.
The SJW's will drive any conservative site into penury with these boycotts or threats of such.
It needs to stop. They are a loud mouthed minority.

Heard from an "alternative foods" manufacturer who recently cashed in her "mixed up crackers" brand for millions.
She was telling stories, credibly, that Big Food is concerned about their ongoing losses of market share to "healthy" (lotsa BS passing as healthy though) smaller company foods alternatives.
So this political boycott will be adding to the downside momentum caused by the political onslaught of the whole food movement.
Once my health profile was completely compromised by a lifetime of eating cheezits and cheetos and all that great tasting stuff, I'd say 57 years of it, eliminating every single snack food, cooked restaurant food, and every kind of dessert imaginable was the only play or face remaining years of bankruptcy by co-pay and surgerical procedures.
But the austere isn't necessary to derail these food giants and their overt persecutorial again-duhz against "the opposition", we deplorables. (Ironic how we are the stupid cheetohs eaters in front of alphabet network tv in the trailer parks who fund the Mighty Kellogg and Tides (Terayza Heinz Kerry) foundation).
Reducing consumption of crap food by 50% (one day ya do one day ya don't) would bring amazing health benefits to anybody who has a willingness to strike a blow for freedom and their own liberty by regaining peak health through better eaating.
Not proselityzing about how everybody needs to eat to be healthy. But let's face facts--- crap food puts profits in Big Food pockets and Big Food philanthropy trickles down into Clinton Foundation and Big Machine politics worldwide.
Without the Kellogg Foundation and others the Leftworld racket of 501 c 3 lobbying (against the law no one enforces due to SJW propagandists entrenched in government) dries up.
Let's smarten up.

I used to work security for a major contractor with a lot of big companies products. One was a battery manufacturer. Everytime I make my rounds I would see different labels on pallets of batteries. Some looked a lot different. Some looked and apparently were the very same batteries with different labels.
Posted by: pagar, a bacon, ham and sausage supporter | November 29, 2016 at 07:38 PM
The plants that makes chips or cereal or cookies make them for everyone in that region and put various labels on. If your store gets a better deal from post for its Raisin Bran, the generic is post, else Kellogg. The big company still gets paid for it.

In Wilson, NC. Near Raleigh but not close enough. 8 hour drive straight up 95 and wouldn't you know it, comes to a half hour halt 25 miles from Wilson where I am staying the night.
Found a terrific little steak place, Jac's Grill, on Madison off of 264 in Wilson itself. Excellent Grey Goose martini and very nice 8 oz. filet. Recommend highly for those transiting back up 95 or down.
Tomorrow, its DC and pizza at Comet Ping Pong. Brought my own paddles that my family made in 1935. Still perfect shape and balance. Thinking about posing as a reporter from Al Jazeera and how we hear this is becoming a "must see" place for Afghan goat herders.

From the bit of the channel3000 stream I saw before it cut out, the Conspiracy Theorist witness had lots of tinfoil ideas, but nothing that tied to WI. He also had a working paper (we don't need no stinking peer review) from someone else about the anomalies, but half of those precincts went Trump, half Hilligula, so not even a pattern there. This clown needs to be dipped in cheese and deep fried before returning to Michigan with a "Go Bucky" hat.

Wouldn't put it past them.
BTW, what a dipshit Shep is and all of the Five. Listened to them on Sirius Xm today driving up. No one wants to call a spade a spade.
