Pelosi Calls for Investigation of Giuliani and Comey Letter

lyle

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2016/11/the-hazards-of-the-trump-transition.php

Transitions are always chaotic. It’s the nature of the thing. The real hazard for the Trump transition is that in the necessary haste to put together a functioning government in a short period of time, they’ll simply default to a lot of establishment Republicans—essentially a re-run of the George W. Bush administration.

[snip]

Trump’s announcement that he wants to exclude lobbyists from the whole scene is a good one, even if no doubt unwise in some individual cases. The media braying about Trump’s transition is part of the hive-like mentality of DC that desperately hopes right now for what it regards as merely a normal GOP administration, meaning an accommodationist administration. As Nancy Reagan would say, “Just say No.”

Already seeing a lot of signs of the GOPe desperately wanting the song to remain the same, yes?

Considering one of if not the largest drag on the economy is the insane monetary policies we've been pursuing for the last 20 years and especially the last 8 I'm not sure normalizing interest rates right off the bat wouldn't be a gift to Trump the same way Paul Volcker helped Reagan by cleanly severing his policies from the past.

Which is why she won't do it. Volcker didn't break with his own policies, he came in with a mission to break with his predecessors' policies. Yellen has drunk the Kool-Aid that the Fed saved the world and is that low interest rates are the only thing keeping us from the Great Depression. She might nudge them up a bit, but there won't be a fundamental change.

We have survived, but the amount of damage to be repaired is enormous. Undoing 404Care is going to be a political minefield because the MSM will parade one 'victim' after another. As promised, the Prologue to the sequel: "Ernie's Denied The Truth":

"It had been two years since Ernie Souchak had been released from St. Elizabeth’s in Washington. He was last seen boarding a flight to Chicago at Reagan National airport. But Chicago is a very dangerous place to ply your trade of paranoia and compulsive conspiracy phobia. Just the week after America elected Donald Trump, as it’s 45th President, 9 people were shot and killed in Chicago, bringing the year to date total to 624 souls.

Ernie had to be careful whenever he left the confines of his Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood. Bucktown had been named after the goats or ‘Bucks’ that Polish immigrants brought with them in the great 1880 migration to America and specifically Chicago. It had also been two years since he had been hooked up to the “converter” in the old Boback Sausage factory and had his brain drained of all his obsessive compulsion in regard to Plamegate, Richard Perle, Clarice Feldman and others. But some how his memory was growing back and the dangers of OCD began to flourish in his mind.

Ernie felt safe and complete among the goats and patrons of his favorite drinking joint, the Web Pub on W. Webster Street, where he would occasionally play darts by himself. It was also at the Web where he would sometimes use its free Wi-Fi and search the Internet for those key words that provided instant nirvana: Richard Perle, Clarice Feldman, and Patrick Fitzgerald. But lately, those names were absent while the Wikileak releases of John Podesta’s emails seemed to dominate everything.

Ernie was getting more and more nervous and agitated. How could he cope with just taking his Clomipramine daily, which reduced his urge to perform repeated tasks and interfered with his daily living? He had nothing to annoy others with except his compulsion with the collapse of World Trade Center No. 7 tower and other people’s children. He would once and a while get so uncomfortable with his denial of truth that he couldn’t sleep and would stay up all night asking silly questions to know one in particular.

Summer had turned to autumn and an Australian living in hiding, from Swedish authorities, was ready to drop a bombshell on the US Presidential election. Julian Assange, founder of the international publisher of secrets, private information and damning documentation of “crimes and misdemeanors”, had been accused of rape in Sweden. Instead of agreeing to return there and face justice, he decided to claim refuge and sanctuary in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. But there he still had his control of the old Sunshine Press in Iceland and command of the Wikileak’s operations.

What had started in July of 2016, with the release of certain Hillary Clinton emails off her private server cascaded from there to the release of emails off the Democratic National Committee server and now in early October the release of private emails to and from John Podesta, the Chairman of the Hillary Clinton campaign committee.

It was November 3rd, 5 days before the election, that Wikileaks released a batch of Podesta emails that set the Internet on fire and provided new hope to Ernie’s compulsion.

He was elated. Not only did these emails indicate a Clinton campaign organization with its own compulsions: Italian food, hot dogs and the occult, but it named names and locations to be investigated. Not only was Ernie elated, he was electrified with another addition to his compulsion. Clomipramine be damned, it is time to start connecting dots and building his case for a new conspiracy much like the theory spouted by Susie Madrak , the Suburban Guerilla and fellow unbalanced refugee from reality:

“Those who suffer from conspiracy phobia are fond of saying: “Do you actually think there’s a group of people sitting around in a room plotting things?” For some reason that image is assumed to be so patently absurd as to invite only disclaimers. But where else would people of power get together – on park benches or carousels? Indeed, they meet in rooms: corporate boardrooms, Pentagon command rooms, at the Bohemian Grove, in the choice dining rooms at the best restaurants, resorts, hotels, and estates, in the many conference rooms at the White House, the NSA, the CIA, or wherever. And, yes, they consciously plot – though they call it “planning” and “strategizing” – and they do so in great secrecy, often resisting all efforts at public disclosure. No one confabulates and plans more than political and corporate elites and their hired specialists. To make the world safe for those who own it, politically active elements of the owning class have created a national security state that expends billions of dollars and enlists the efforts of vast numbers of people.”

Now, it appears, that not only do they meet in the best restaurants but also in pizza parlors on Connecticut Avenue in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of DC. A place so innocuous, that it features table tennis, as a diversion, while awaiting your hot slice of Neapolitan comfort.

This would be his escape from reality for the near future, medications be damned.

James Alefantis, founded the Comet Ping Pong Pizza restaurant in 2006, with his partner at the time, Carole Greenwood, a prominent chef who moved on to other interests later that year. From time to time it has lived an acrimonious relationship with its neighbors and residents of that strip of Connecticut Avenue that includes the popular bookstore Politics and Prose where the progressive left wing of DC comes to enjoy book readings and authors of their own ilk.

But for Ernie, it was Comet and Alefantis who fascinated his insatiable compulsions. Alefantis was the ex-lover of David Brock, a former conservative apologist of Judge Clarence Thomas in the famous Anita Hill affair and congressional testimony, who had turned 180 degrees to a flaming left-wing progressive apologist and critic of the Republican Party and conservatives in general.

Brock was a close confidant and participant inside the Democratic Party and progressive causes. This was just what the mind of an OCD personality ordered.

In those emails of November 3rd were numerous references, to and from Podesta, of food that set the website 4chan.org afire with a conspiracy of pedophilia in and around the Clinton campaign and associates. Ernie was to discover the code within those emails that had been raked out by the 4Chan investigators:

“hotdog” = boy
“pizza” = girl
“cheese” = little girl
“pasta” = little boy
“ice cream” = male prostitute
“walnut” = person of color
“map” = semen
“sauce” = orgy

For Ernie, this seemed to indicate that when you coupled these code words with the 2010 detention in Haiti of Laura Silsby, of the New Life Children’s Refuge, a Baptist Missionary organization based in Idaho, you had the makings of a child sex trafficking ring. She and 9 others were arrested attempting to transport 33 young Haitian children, all except one with at least one parent, over the border to the Dominican Republic.

As Shani King of the Harvard Human Rights Journal would write:

“Along with the Haitian justice system, some observers excused the missionaries’ actions, even though they rose to the level of child trafficking. They did so essentially because we place such little value on the integrity of poor families; the idea that the missionaries were acting to ‘save’ these children justified the damage they would have caused to the children and their families. In this way, the Silsby case offers a window into international and domestic child placement schemes that disrupt poor families and disregard traditional forms of child placement.”

This was just too much for Ernie’s now unprotected compulsive mind to handle. Anxiety rose to Everestian heights and he now began to move at warp speed.

The people on a web-blog he visited frequently and, of course, compulsively, would soon have to deal with a new conspiracy, outside of birtherism: Pedophilia and child sex trafficking among the Ping-Pong balls of Connecticut Avenue."

I've come to despise the man, but he would make an excellent Secretary of State. He has a far clearer understanding of international dynamics than most, and he probably knows how to say "you're fired" almost as well as Trump. In fact, I've always thought he's one of the few people around in politics who could take on the federal organizational chart and win. Indeed, I mentioned his name back in the thread where we were discussing Bolton and Giuliani. I believe he'd be better than either one of them, as long as he could swallow sufficient pride to serve his President's policy objectives, as opposed to dictating them. That's admittedly a pretty big if.

This is the puzzle I am trying to figure out.

The only way I could see it moving forward is if Mitt offered a public apology and said that he didn't understand Trump's objectives as well as he should have, or that he was misled by the media.

To me, a guy who took Trump's money and endorsement publicly and then turned on him like that is very untrustworthy.
