We are on tape delay, so just caught Rush's Hour 3 Rush's montage of all the naysaying talking heads over the last few months saying "There's no way Trump will ever be elected." Wonderful stuff.

lyle, I am currently enjoying the Kos thread you linked - thank you!

I'm making a folder of these to enjoy from time to time.

Also this:

Most of us took a while to jump on the bandwagon so it was just a matter of the light going on rather than when it happened.

There's no shame in not having had Trump as a first choice. I congratulate those who did, but in the primaries people should choose their preferred candidate, not the one they believe most likely to win. Hopefully if people do that, the primaries and caucuses will sort out who is most likely to win. It's when people start trying to game it by picking people they think can win that we end up with the likes of a McCain or Dole.

Once Trump clinched the nomination, that showed he was a (potential) winner, and those who kept saying he wasn't, that it should have been Jeb or Marco or whoever, were off track.

James D

I'm enjoying the wailing and moaning, too.

And the total willful blindness on the part of progs that led to yesterday's result in the first place.

"Hurry up and die, you obsolete, worthless, racist sh*tbags! But in the meantime, won't you please vote for us?"

...is not a winning message, but it is clear that the Democrats and the media have not grasped that yet.

I think we should be encouraging the Dems and pollsters to keep relying on their bogus and erroneous polls.

My fear is that if their numbers improve, they'll just have more opportunity to have enough bogus ballots ready to manipulate vote counts.

fdcol63 at 3:58, Bill Mitchell agrees:

Bill Mitchell ‏@mitchellvii

Ironically, the Democrats belief in their own fake polls prevented them from cheating enough to win.

11:05 AM - 9 Nov 2016

Pollsters are in a bind. First, the assumption that they could poll correctly if they wanted to is a big one. Polling is getting more and more difficult because of low response rate. Better methodology could help - the tracking polls are much higher quality in this regard.

But the tracking polls don't give them the influence that they need. So for that, they have to put out fake stuff. This is handled chiefly by media polls and friendlies like Monmouth.

Then they risk what may have happened in this election - low-motivation voters (plentiful with Hill as the candidate) figure their vote isn't needed.

I think a huge part of the fake "it's over" narrative, bolstered by polls, was to cover for her health problems.

daddy

Momma and I both agree that the best thing last night brought us, on a strictly personal level, is that we will not have to endure 4 years of Hillary Clinton's evil visage and shrill voice hectoring us incessantly.

That may sound like a small thing but it is "Huge," or as Neil Cavuto would say it, "YUGE!"

Dave (in MA)

Trending on Yahoo: "The Internet really wants Michelle Obama to run for president in 2020"

I have a schtrong urge to puke.

Tarhole,

If the navel gazers wanted to do an autopsy of her campaign, I heard one of her annoying fanboyz regret the deplorables comment plus I'd add in that hectoring "Why aren't I fifty points ahead, you might add". Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

On the minus side Trump inherits an economy at the end of the business cycle.
On the plus side if he enacts sensible free market policies the economy should be chugging along nicely by 2020.
I find it unlikely a guy who campaigned as energetically as he did will settle for one term, barring a serious health issue.

derwill, yet another adorable, irredeemable deplorable

One thing that occurred to me about the polls is that if you use them solely to create a perception that is different from reality, it ceases to be a tool you yourself can use to access reality.

I was polled by the GOP during the primary. The second question I got asked was my age, and when I answered the conversation was immediately terminated because the pollster already had responses from too many in my age group. So if you want to cook a poll and then you set out to deliberately under sample one portion of the electorate, while over sampling another--and with polls being time consuming and very expensive--you will terminate the call right away if the respondent falls outside your pre-conceived parameters. The trouble is while you might have successfully created the perception you wanted, you've denied yourself a snapshot of reality that you could have used as a tool to help your own campaign.

IOW, the MSM/Dems fell victims to their own propaganda.

Porchlight

With or without a bottle of tequila, Dave (in MA)?

I think Michelle should totally run in 2020. She is definitely what the country wants.

Yep, he's only a year or so older than Reagan was. On the other hand, he may figure out that 2nd terms are usually not so successful, and opt for passing his presidency onto someone like Pence, or trying to.

Dave's 4:04 of Porch's link reminds me of pajama boy. LOL.

The single one thing Trump can do to revved up the economy and tax receipts is to reduce the corporate tax rate to 15%. Trillions will flow back and will be used as capital to grow business. The second most important thing he can do is repeal Dodd-Frank & CFPB just to watch Fauxchohontas' head explode.

Both of these coupled with a plan of creating "Opportunity Zones" in the inner cities can be accomplished fairly quickly and easy with a cooperative Congress.

Matt - deplore me if you must

Those wookies will be the new pajamaboy nation by then. Bean sprouts and turds for everybody!

"Trump's going to make us find real jobs and work with those awful Deplorables!" The grin factor is going to be enormous watching the precious flowers go nuts. Is this the largest colon cleanse you've ever seen or what?

Beasts of England

I wouldn't dismiss the threat of a Michelle campaign, nor would I underestimate it in any way. The Obamas control the party apparatus, will have access to Clinton-level cash, and will be just as protected and promoted by the media as any politico ever.

jimmyk

On Obamacare, if the Ds are smart they will see the writing on the wall, they way they did in 1980, and not stand in the way of the victorious Rs by filibustering repeal, if only for their own political survival. But no one ever accused the likes of Durbin, Leahy, etc. of being smart.

daddy

Tapper, hosting a CNN panel, asks a Republican Trump supporter what should be the first thing Trump should deal with?

The Repub replies with "Obamacare" and follows with sensible ideas of getting it away from a Federalized DC program and return it to a competition style program in individual states. He then mentions that in his state of Pennsylvania that ObamaCare premiums just 1 week before the Election went up 33%.

Tapper immediately jumps in to correct him, "No, it was 23 %, not 33%."
to which the Republican replies firmly and immediately, "No, it was 33% in Pennsylvania", at which point Tapper backtracks and says, "OK, I guess it was 33% in Pennsylvania, but it was only 23% nationally." something like that.

That was great to see how quick Tapper is to leap into anything a Repub says that opposes his prepared Talking points and then he had to immediately backtrack. He has a lot of deep seated anger today simmering just below the surface. Then he asks a DEM named something Solis and when she says "Trump's first act must be to apologize to Mexican's and Women and Blacks," Tapper jumps in enthusiastically to buttress her concern and says "And the Disabled", and she says, "Yes, and the Disabled", so the Repub woman sitting next to Tapper says, "and the Deplorables," which brings a smile from the 2 Republicans sitting on the panel, but is completely ignored by Tapper and the Solis gal and all the rest of the Dem's on the panel.

T'was a beautiful touche' moment. Tapper sucks.

jimmyk

the threat of a Michelle

I doubt it. Hillary at least had the phony resume of Senator and SoS. Michelle's got nuttin' except her skin color and XX chromosome. I don't think that's enough against any serious opposition from other Ds.

Hubby has a tense relationship with his brother,so he couldn't resist a text to his brother which said,"our eight year nightmare is over." His brother responded with a picture of the Statue of Liberty crying. Now his brother won't return his calls. They had yuge argument about their grandfather being an immigrant. Hubby said,"yes and Gramp came here and worked hard and achieved the American dream."
I said to hubby,"so,is this your yearly call to your brother?"

I considered that, too, jimmyk, but the left is now so driven to elect a female president that the press will parrot the 'Trump had no experience' line as fact; ignoring his corporate executive CV.

Hillary was running to be coronated. Lurker Susie and Clarice's vids show that, but for that nasty Comey and bumbling Obama her Royal Purple apparel would have announced the Reign of Hilligula I.

Hillary really wanted to win imo. She expected to face "They (illegals) come for love" Jeb and not Wallbuilder Trump.
