I lost a day here, but... this article on Trump being Trumpy while drunk-dialing and butt-dialing foreign leaders is, well, Trumpalicious.
YEAH, YEAH: Trump doesn't drink; it's the rest of us. And for a brief What Does It Mean moment, our last three Administrations have had a President (Bush), and VP (Biden) and now a President who abstain.
At last!
Will be cracking a cold one soon.

Trump must have made that call either deliberately to upset the high priests at Foggy Bottom or out of ignorance that it would get their panties in a twist. Either way is fine with me.
Of course the high priests will say that they are worried about how the ChiComs will react. But I don't see the reason to worry about that. The worst that can happen-- not all that likely and not all that terrible-- is that Trump tells the ChiComs that he had no idea that they were so sensitive and no offense meant, etc.
Maybe offense was meant and he wants them to know it.
I seem to recall that GW Bush did something similar early in his first term and the Chnesians got over it and gave us our airplane and crew back.

Gillebrand is just grandstanding with an eye on 20/20.
A vote against the waiver is no better than a vote against confirmation UNLESS the Dems want to filibuster the waiver. That makes them look foolish after all the talk of Republican obstructionism over the last eight years.
And it does no good. Trump nominates him without the waiver and the Senate (no longer permitted to filibuster nominations under Harry's rules) confirms him. Sessions goes to court and argues that the waiver requirement is unconstitutional and wins easily.

I just got done re-watching last night's rally.
Besides it being hilarious when he mocked the press for the Blue Wall, no path to 270, Texas in play, etc. I noticed the following:
1. He is really making an effort to get the suburbs to buy into helping the inner cities. Not by robbing them of money, but getting them emotionally behind helping.
2. He is really trying to get the country united, as Americans, as "we're all in this together."
2. He is really firmly committed to bringing industrial production back to the US.
4. He frames the illegal immigration issue as one of sovereignty.
5. He wants everyone on board with the Make America Great Again program, and wants his voters to be ready to push back on people who oppose him.
These rallies are going to be a very effective weapon against recalcitrant democrats. I don't think they realize yet what he will be able to do.

Correct narciso. From what I read, this Judge Peterson (comes up a lot in political cases, and it's never good) said no injunction, but will have a hearing on the 9th. He could do anything, say require manual recounts in all counties and forbid any I'd confirmation on provisional ballots. I do not trust that SOB.

We are not in this together, commies and anarchists are not interested in uniting or doing anything close to anything Trump has proposed, and that is a huge chuck of the Democrat Party base. He needs to focus on the persuadables and deliver on his promises, as there are definitely a reservoir of voters who did not vote for him ( or Hillary ) but would with a legacy of success...

I am not worried about the recount.
HOWEVER I do note that shortly after Election Day the lead in Michigan was 12,882 and it is now 10,704 and in Pennsylvania it was 65, 690 and it is now 46,530 and in Wisconsin it was 24,081 and it is now 22,177. I detect a trend.
My understanding is that NONE of these changes relate to the recounts. They have something to do with provisional ballots and overseas military ballots (which I had expected to be for Trump mostly) and some such.
I am still not worried. The Hillary campaign and the press (but I repeat myself) has gone out of its way to say that they do not think that there is any chance of changing the outcome. If they had something up their sleeves they would want to get people prepared for the possibility -- to spring it on the voters is the surest way to bring about a violent uprising.
So I am not worried. No recount has ever overcome these kinds of margins. Not worried one bit I tell you.

When the primaries started, I really liked Cruz and thought he and Trump would make a dream team, with Cruz as Trump's apprentice who would mature and learn from Trump and be ready to be president in eight years. At that time, Cruz was saying he was going to envelop Trump with love and bear hugs.
Then something changed and Cruz got super nasty toward Trump and his "New York values". Trump didn't throw the first punch, Cruz did.I started loathing Cruz and what I hated most was when he said that Trump was no different than Hillary.
Would Hillary have chosen Mad Dog?

My summary of MMâs summary:
Blogger MM distills Trumpâs rally, downplayed, misinterpreted, and dismissed by mainstream media. After exposing corporate media as overinflated, Trump is trying to persuade us to get behind helping the inner cities help themselves, to convince the country that we are all in this together, that industrial production is an important part of America, that immigration is an issue of sovereignty, and that his is less a victory tour than galvanizing Americans to protect these goals from those who would undermine them.

They do not need the recount to push the racist, misogynst, homophobic theme.
I do like the fact that Van Jones of all people said that not ALL of Trump voters were racists or neo Nazis (how generous of him) and that there was a "small group" of snobby elitists in the Democratic Party who talked down to people and pissed them off. I think he is right about that except the "small group" part.
It looks mostly like the purpose of the recount is fund raising for the Greens. (And they also get a lot of email addresses of hard core liberals, which aids future fundraising.) There is a market for woof tickets and Stein has decided to sell some.

sbw, cheerleader,
Thanks for your comments. I was reminded today on some blog (can't remember who because I as dealing with the furnace) of these quotes from a book called The Fourth Turning, by Strauss and Howe:
"We may not wish the Gray Champion to come again - but come he must, and come he will." (Donald Trump)
"Whether we realize it or not, we will be ready for a dramatic event to shock the nation out of its complacency and decay."
"One large chapter of history ends, and another starts. In a very real sense, one society dies - and another is born."
âThe next Fourth Turning is due to begin shortly after the new millennium, midway through the Oh-Oh decade. Around the year 2005, a sudden spark will catalyze a Crisis mood. Remnants of the old social order will disintegrate. Political and economic trust will implode. Real hardship will beset the land, with severe distress that could involve questions of class, race, nation and empire. The very survival of the nation will feel at stake. Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War, and twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II.â
-------------------------
I read this book 15 years ago. I recommend it to all. I have kept Strauss and Howe's theories in my mind for all of that time. It i part of why I supported Trump.

When you consider our current culture revolving around social media, the internet of all things, digitial fulfillment and keyboard conflict, Trump is our first practitioner of such as POTUS. And the media is yet to adapt.
What does that tell you about their management and strategic direction.
I worked for a company where our strategy was "be prepared for every opportunity" whereas the major media operations really do think that they somehow direct and decide opportunity. Nope, doesn't work that way anymore.
How will they catch up when they hire the people who could never make it in a MBA program much less a STEM program but are relegated to shoddy english composition, structured and disciplined opinion journalism and all beret of fact?
He is bringing an anti-political thinking and a pro-hard ass business attitude to governance our snowflake reporters, their editors and even their corporate masters cannot understand or even comprehend.
Trump as a developer, builder and operator knows all about change and adjusting to it. If he didn't he be broke.
This is an experiment in Citizen governance and whether it works better.
