Beasts of England

Considering the ovation that Trump received at the Army-Navy game, I think you're right, Porch!!

clarice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7pQdqPzozc I can't get enough of this.

Love how he said Trump should read Bret Stephens every day and do the opposite of whatever Stephens says he should do.

Frau Doof bleibt doof

Who made this asshat rei di tutti?

"Ultimately, (Weaselly)Clark (Jr.) wound up at the Four Prairie Knights Casino & Resort on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation asking the tribe for forgiveness, on behalf of the U.S. military, for crimes against the tribe."

maryrose

Great VDH forum.
Made my day to hear it.
I love how he labeled Hillary a.criminal with a criminal enterprise at State.
Also interesting comments on a pardon for her.

maryrose

Trump interviewed at halftime.

Porchlight

I missed the ovation, Beasts! I'll look for the clip!

maryrose

Go Navy!Got a touchdown after halftime.

PD

Obama should do Celebrity Apprentice.
Oh wait, that requires you to work hard and raise money.

Actually, the show might be a perfect fit. There is always a member of the team who has big ideas, is incapable of realizing them, sits around while others do the work, and then tries to blame other people for the team's poor performance.

The show is also a showcase of the human infinite capacity for self-deception. It was a rare episode where I was not stunned to watch people talk themselves into believing how it couldn't be possible they had any responsibility for failure.

Beasts of England

Gateway Pundit has it, Porch!

maryrose

PD
So true.
Obama would probably not want to be project manager because he would get major blame if he failed.
Don't worry about Trump assuming power.
If nothing else Obama is already perceived as the other.
He said so himself in a recent interview.
To prevent a normal succession would only cast a bad light on him and that must be avoided at all costs.

PD

I should mention that the phrase "infinite capacity for self-deception" is now seared, seared into my son's memories, from hearing me say it so often while we watched the show.

PD

If nothing else Obama is already perceived as the other.

Isn't that the truth?

"Obama who?"

lyle

Someone please link Trump's ovation. Thanks.

Nice, BOE! Cadets jumping up and down. https://mobile.twitter.com/WScottSports/status/807688572027490304/video/1

Excellent article
David Reaboi – ‏@davereaboi

--> @ClaremontInst was kind enough to publish a new essay from @ShidelerK & me on suggestions for Trump admin http://www.claremont.org/crb/basicpage/combating-political-islam/

Submithroughout his presidential campaign, Donald Trump voiced beliefs about national security that many Americans have shared since, at least, the early days of the Obama administration. The inability to speak honestly and coherently about the enemy and its ideology, Trump argued, has repeatedly led to failure: terror attacks at home that were not stopped; wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria that were not won.

Millions of Americans agree with Trump’s assessment, believing the Obama White House had, for reasons of political correctness, mischaracterized the terrorist threat, treating Islam as a secondary feature instead of the defining one. Any such assessment, however, necessarily implies this corollary: an accurate representation of the enemy based on its ideology would indicate a far larger threat to U.S. interests, encompassing more of the Islamic world than previously admitted by either of the past two presidential administrations.

Porchlight

Here's Gateway's clip from the interview maryrose mentioned.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/12/awesome-trump-holds-interview-army-navy-game-crowd-chants-make-america-great-video/

I can't hear the crowd chanting but my tablet audio is terrible.

PD

I agree pretty much with lurkersusie's quote, except this:

treating Islam as a secondary feature instead of the defining one

More like: treating Islam as something to be admired

Beasts of England

Thanks, Porch!

That's not surprising, Frau. Sick, but not surprising. They have to keep thier fake news apparatus well-oiled.

RG: I was up until 5 PST... writing jags buzz me up when they strike at 11:15pm LOL

Thanks for the comments on Ollie Brown... it was definitely a "look forward to" kind of thing. My Dad and I love reminiscing still today about talkin' to "the Giants" from our dugout perch.

Captain Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepeda, Matty Alou, Jesus Alou, Tom Haller, and coach Alvin Dark. Good times. Hearing the ball "smack" in their gloves...just playing ketch they were tossin that apple.

Saw Juan Marichal club catcher Johnnie Roseboro of the Dodgers for sayin "somethin' bout my mama" with his bat. Most violent thing I'd seen in my young life until Jack Tatum knocked Darrell Stingley out of a game against the Patriots one year.

It's all "in here" (thumbin' mah chest). ;) Good day and good weekend to you, my Friend.

Boy I love, love, love that WattsUpWithThat link above from Miss Marple about the Trump Team memo of questions to the Dept of Energy.

I was at the coffee shop earlier, so I'm just now going through my recording of the Army/Navy game. I notice that no one seems to be kneeling or sitting during the anthem.

Also spotted a "Navy Trumps Army" sign in the stands. Heh.

That DOE memo indicates that the swamp really is scheduled for draining. EPA ought to be swamp quadrant #1 on the priority list.

Touchdown NAVY!

JM Hanes

Since I already wasted the entire day, I decided to enjoy a couple of minutes savoring Harry Reid's departure from the Senate. But good golly, the man is so boring that I upped my estimate of just how corrupt he had to be to stay in office so long. He claims that he and Mitch McConnell are friends, but I'm happy to say that McConnell's so-called tribute reads like Obama-strength mealy mouthedness, to me:

“It’s clear that Harry and I have two very different worldviews, two different ways of doing things, and two different sets of legislative priorities. But, through the years, we’ve come to understand some things about one another, and we’ve endeavored to keep our disagreements professional, rather than personal," McConnell said. "We’ve also found some common ground through baseball."
If the Democrats had ever managed to regain the Senate majority, I suspect Chuck Schumer would have figured out how to dump the doufus a lot sooner.

daddy

Love how he said Trump should read Bret Stephens every day and do the opposite of whatever Stephens says he should do.

Clarice,

I specifically remember some pundit (John Fund maybe?) saying after (I think)* the first Election of George W Bush, that he should read whatever "Democrat" Al Hunt writes in the Wall Street Journal and then do the opposite.

Now 16 years later we get the same advice, only the advice is to read whatever "Republican" Bret Stevens writes in that same rag, and do the opposite:)

Ha! Guess that's the difference between 2000 and 2016.

*Anyone remember the particulars of where and when I heard the first
quote?

JM Hanes

I'd like a landing team for my b-i-l, please.

henry

Porch, to paraphrase Mel Brooks... "It's great to be the CEO"

I do appreciate a good pre-close acquisition assessment landing team. Some times there's enough dead wood to pay for the acquisition year one. Trump will find that as he leads a citizen/taxpayer's takeover of the government.

lyle

I'm sorry, JMH, "doofus" is faaaaar too kind of a description for that vile, despicable POS, Reid.

Porchlight

Heh JMH.

To answer a snarky joke favored by the MSM during the election, it appears as if the dog really does know what he's going to do with the car now that he's caught it.

PD

I liked this part of the chaplain's prayer over the cadets and midshipment: "Grant that their enemies may fear them."

And +1 that for Trump. :-)

PD

I had to Google Bret Stephens. Is he someone important?

Porchlight

henry,

Imagine the weeping WaPo stories one year from now, as the starving bureaucrats are shaking their tin cups at Christmas shoppers on street corners all over DC.

And smile.

Beasts of England

Touchdown Army!!

"Grant that their enemies may fear them."

Yes, PD, Republicans seemed to have forgotten the old adage about it being better to be feared than loved. And as Daniel Greenfield said on Carlson's show, they will never love you anyway, so there's no point in even trying.

daddy

Wretchard: The president himself the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize Tweeted that "on January 20th I will become the first President of the United States to serve two full terms during a time of war", without ever once revealing the definite identity of just who America has been at war with.

My guess is that if you went on Campus and asked the student on the street the questions:

1) "Is the US at War today", and
2) if so, with who?"

not one in a hundred would come anywhere close to a correct answer.

henry

Porch, the proper way to view that I was told is: "I'm enhancing your lives by freeing you from wasting your energy here. You have 10 minutes to clear your desks / offices." I've been on both sides of it several times. The bureaucrats have no idea, and little transferable skill. I will bypass them for illegals in the Walmart parking lot if I need hired labor.

I kept the tube on after the game, and our local six o'clock news began with the Russian interference story. Those urban blue city types won't like this. Living in the suburbs reduces cancer and respiratory disease risk. The more green around you, mother longer you live. Not sure what effect snow has on that formula though.

It was more of a 'date' than a date, narciso. We talked - or tried to talk - politics for about thirty minutes, and then gave up and hit a few live music venues.

It's a (fake) new day in America ;) (I'm lovin' this. It's all going into the public record as "his" leg-ass-ee.)

"But, it’s yet another level of absurdity entirely when the actual U.S. intelligence apparatus assigns the official position office of the president to the same global conspiracy.

These people don’t need to be refuted, they need to be laughed at. Period.

Without any delivered evidence what-so-ever, the Times and Post are selling the deflective White House/Democrat “blame Russia” narrative by pointing to intelligence agencies including the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper – and the Director of the CIA John Brennan.

Pause yourself for a moment and absorb that."

No wonder they lost and have been losing big since 2010.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. I do not play one on tv. I have taken control of my health and healing. The following rant is not intended to alarm anybody or scare anybody.

My intention is to speak up about how the US is a sitting duck for superbugs with open borders and a CDC that's been hollowed out by political correctness, junk science, and HIV/AIDS hysteria.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/12/10/superbugs-killing-people-breast-cancer-trust-warns/

Not sure I have the stats for US deaths. But this trend hit close to home here with us last year.

MRSA or Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus was devouring the tissues of my lower legs. Nasty stuff. Had 4 recurring infections from Jan 2015 to Jan 2016 due to compromised immune system from chronic Type 2 diabetic degenerative syndrome.

The skin ruptures which wouldn't heal and then became infected were triggered, we were finally able to deduce, from two different pain medications prescribed for nerve pain: "Lyrica" and a generic "Gabapentin." I was taking about 2000 mg at the peak of that course, as recommended.

After the fourth infection was when we tossed all the pain meds (vicodin, lyrica and gabapentin) plus the heart and diabetes meds to begin on this current course of treatment I've been sharing with you here from time to time (thank you for your respectful allowances on this subject--- I mean that!).

The skin ruptures were triggered as *stated* side effects of lyrica and gabapentin--- are used here in California to treat "fybromyalgia" and in some locales "lyme disease." Prescribing them as part of a pain cocktail is part of a trend to reduce dependence on buffered opioids like the vicodin/acetominephin compound I was eating daily.

The consulting physicians didn't certify that the blisters and ulcerations were due to the mass dosing of Gaba/Lyr. An outside opinion got me cultured after the second recurrence and identified it as MRSA. The first recurrence took 6 months to "clear up" but it nearly took me out.

The outside opinion documented the super bug and got me on the right course. But subsequent trips to the emergency room didn't result in proper treatment, as if the attending physicians are in denial about superbugs. Had to go back to the outside opinion source again to get the bug treated the third and fourth time it recurred.

Alternative nutrition has rid me of the bug. My legs bear the scars but the tissue is coming back. It took the right anti-bios to kick-start the healing but the food has jacked my immune system into high gear.

Takeaway: Don't mess around if an infection doesn't go away on anti-bios within a few days...get a second opinion and make them culture you. And don't assume that resorts and high-end hotels are sanitary. Two infections came on *after* showering in 5 star hotels, like wildfire.

Life is too short. And the higher end of the food chain is under attack. Word to the wise.

Account Deleted

"If climate change denial is going to the default position of the Trump White House, then relentless resistance will be the default position of the American people. "

Sweetie--- it's not going to be *MY* default position, nor the position of 99.9999% of people who didn't vote for the EmoCrat/Bernie machine.

Kev, hospitals are ground zero for MRSA. That is nasty stuff. My dad got it on a knee replacement, as did an uncle.

Trump is going on the list of billionaire morons who hired operations officers and dont even know the nsme of their boss - director of operations...as soon as he reads the intelligence brief daily without something else in his jand...in bed...maybe he likes male models too or whatever.

The daily intelligence brief is an assignment. Usually an attorney that isnt running the intelligence community. Bush was smart at this. Rather than recusing himself from business, he recused from insider inteligence; the daily intel brief. 'Call me if its urgent.' Just give directives, order audits of programs. 'That is why you read that.' 🔍 OIG should have already handled it......🏧
