sbw, from the last thread, your mock paragraph was great, can't think of anything to add, but can you juxtapose it with a similar actual piece about Trump?
I hear you guys in central NY are about to be blasted with 1-2' of lake effect pleasantness.
Momto2...yesterday I mentioned that for some reason hubby watched Kerry and he couldn't stop laughing. He didn't realize Kerry had the annoying habit of "lizard tongue." We both were howling, because our dog is obsessed with the little geckos that stick out their little tongues, just like Kerry. Ha!

Reminded this morning I used to call John Kerry the "Poodle". He acts French, and he's a rich woman's pet with a bad haircut.
I wish Trump would deliver a nice short inaugural address. Something along the lines of "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass; and I'm all out of bubblegum. "
Then he kicks Barry's ass and takes his nicorette bubble gum.
I appreciate the sentiment but I sincerely hope Trump gives an eloquent speech which inspires the country.
When I saw him yesterday I was impressed with his demeanor and his courtesy towards the press, even though we know so many are really not his friends. I noticed the questions were a bit less hostile. (Maybe it's because they are being fed by the chef at Mar-a-lago.)
I believe he has the capacity to be a great president. A good Inaugural speech will be a fine start.
Saw a photo yesterday of moving vans backed up to the White House and today a shot of fencing, bleachers, etc. in preparation for Trump's Inaugural. ::::smiling::::
SBW, great paragraph but I agree with Jimmy that it would be even better to start with an actual example (incl date, place, page) from either the AP, NYT or WaPo re Trump, then copy that in Obama version.
On the sidebar of our lizard SOS's speech was This, where Tomi Lahren from The Blaze roasts and dices Dem election apologists (without taking a breath, AFAICT). I've never seen her before, but the first two minutes is well worth watching.
LOL, narc.
I hate that movie but still find it fun at the same time.
Worst fight scene in movie history though I get Carpenter presumably meant it as satire as well.
For the first time in my life I used Pax Assist per my Ortho and PT orders. At JFK we were met at the check in by the curb with a wheel chair (no golf cart, yet:) and a pusher. All the way thru security and not TSA pre✅ Since Swiss doesn't use it. Dropped off at lounge then picked up for boarding, on first (natch). In Zurich same process.
In Brussels, got the golf cart treatment with a young moor driving at top speed usling the people walking down the concourse as slalom course. Had one of those little desk bells attached to the dash he was constantly dinging.
It's a wonder more people don't use and abuse it. They never once asked for MD letter I had. All arranged via our travel agent. Just like the service dog issue. Next time I'm not even buying a ticket but just wearing on of those safety vests that get you in anywhere :)
I have an 85 lb hound dog that I would like to take with me when I travel but he hates getting in the car. Last time I took him somewhere I walked him 6 times trying to get him to do his business and he still crapped in the motel room.
My dog Maggie loves to ride in the car but because she considers herself the pack leader, she insists on sitting in the front seat and looking through the windshield.
She has zero interest in hanging her head out a side window like I have seen many dogs do. Apparently she thinks it's her job to scan the horizon for dangers and assist me in driving.
Daughter's youngest dog gets scared in the car and insists on sitting in her lap. I have to go along and hold him when she takes him to the vet, and he shakes the entire time. Fortunately, we are a lot closer to the vet now than before.
Clarice at 10:17, it's funny that you posted that link.

LONDON -- The British government announced plans on Tuesday to crack down on voter fraud by requiring voters to show official identification at polling stations, tightening rules on absentee ballots and preventing political activists from handling absentee ballots. While some critics argued that fraud was not widespread and that the plans would hit hardest the opposition Labour Party and the poor, the government minister in charge, Chris Skidmore, said that the new measures would "protect anyone who is at risk of being bullied, undermined or tricked out of their vote, and their democratic right."
Giving The Bitch a pardon for the emails is one thing (since most likely Obama and his thugs all wanted it that way). Letting her off the hook and letting her keep the loot all for herself from all the Crime Family and Foundation activities seems a bridge too far to me.
Of course her lawyers are negotiating against their own interests if she walks because otherwise they will live large for the next decade keeping them out of jail.
I don't know how I come down on that. I would accept a plea bargain and her prohibited from taking part in any election (or Bill, for that matter).
I don't know what crimes have been committed through the foundation, so Idon't know what the best course of action is.
If she goes on trial, it will be on the news every night and if they get permission to televise it, it will monopolize coverage like OJ, which as you will remember, we thought was a slam dunk and he got off.
If she is tried in DC I don't think she would get convicted. That is a big problem. All that money spent and thenshe would go on every talk show proclaiming her innocence.
I hear you, MM. But we must not be afraid to hold anybody accountable for selling out the country and access to it and be allowed to become a gazillionaire by doing it.
If she skates it will be the worst of slippery slopes.
It really bothers me (NOT) that Bloombergs 20 million has been lost.
------------------------------
Miss Marple, IMO, the best deal would be a limited pardon on the email scandal with an acknowledgement that she completed a crime of mishandling classified material. Otherwise IMO everyone who has ever been convicted of mishandling classified should be pardoned.
The foundation stuff is completely separate and I believe it is completely criminal. IMO, there are dozens involved in the crimes in that mess.
'We have the proof, and like we said, we will present it to the incoming administration. It's sensitive information that we obviously would share with the U.S. administration. We can't share it with this administration because they're behind it to begin with,' said Dermer.
Zippy and Brennan will burn whoever is the source just like they have every other decent intel asset.
Yes, and I wonder if Rudy is waiting in the wings with RICO charges being assembled.
My preference is to see some resolution without a long, drawn-out trial. One of the dangers of this is the distraction on TV every day (with her defenders out accusing her of being persecuted).
Another is that a trial will open Trump up to imaginary charges which will be pushed by the leftist portion of the bar.
I just don't know. Maybe she will be hospitalized and it will be taken out of the limelight.
>>>White House sources tell MSNBC that the US will "announce covert action" against Russia for election hacking.<<<
Wonder how they will screw it up? Payment processing in the US pukes. OPM exposes millions of files. SSA releases everyone's SSN and Driver's License number (if they have it) ...
I also don't think the Obama Administration is going to pardon Hillary over the emails or the foundation. A pardon on his last day in office would be a sign of his own guilt in the matter-best to let the sleeping dogs lie. It is a lock he sent her email so it is a lock he knew. How many others had similar set ups? Did IT staff in the Executive Office (recall the major breach there) know or take steps to firewall outside access? Was either the Clinton email set up or another set up responsible for that White House breach?
I agree with Iggy on Hillary sleazing out of admitting guilt or being convicted of anything. Abedin, Mills, et al should practice their shiv making skills.
good one buc ... it could be he is one of the visitors?
so the out going administration is going all in on the jew hate and the dnc is going to install a Calypso Louise disciple as its chief ... good times, good times.
I'll be surprised if any of them get into trouble. Most of the cases going forward are just over access and production for FOIA requests. I suppose a judge could start sanctioning them for contempt but I'm not sure how much of an appetite for this the incoming administration if going to have. Of all the ones in the Clinton Coven Abedin would seem to be the easiest target though-her "employment" at Teneo, the Foundation, and State was as conflicted as could possibly be and probably easy to make a case she was a baglady for the Foundation.

For this visiting Belgiphile, whenever you post about any of the games, give me the score:) I am too lazy to switch over to ESPN and screw them anyway.
The tongue thing has been commented on before many times, by me and others. I never saw him use in DC when I was there and unfortunately I had to do all his fund raisers and meetings on the "project". So, it seems to be recent as his SoS gig.
My gut tells me Trump is more forward thinking than any POTUS since Reagan. He will not go after Hillary (old but despicable news) and let history tell the story. There are a number of State AG's who want to make their number on her and the Foundation.
He will restore Israel to our high ranks along with the UK. He will play cards with Putin and like all great poker players allow a few small pots to go his way, saving his cards for the end game. No one gets away with any inch of a strategy to screw America.
My wife got me the Art of The Deal for Christmas and I read it on the way over here. He has an unusual psyche and approach for someone in a political office that needs two other branches of government. But when you read his strategic thinking you will understand why even the press are discombubalated.
AM so glad you are reading that. It was written back in the 80's, so I am sure he's learned a lot since then, but his thinking is very unusual for someone in politics.
I think he was wise to pick Pence who will be able to assist him in navigating with Congress and the bureaucracy. He obviously is a quick study (notice how he mastered the teleprompter) and is willing to take advice.
He likes to keep people guessing, which he told us many times. "What ever happened to the element of surprise?"
I'm slowly changing over from an NFL guy to college, and really have no clue, but I'll play:
12/30
Liberty Bowl Georgia v TCU = Georgia
Sun Bowl Stanford v UNC = UNC
Music City Bowl Nebraska v Tennessee = Tennessee
Orange Bowl Michigan v FSU = Michigan
12/31
Citrus Bowl LSU v Louisville = L'ville
Gator Bowl GT v Kentucky = Ga. Tech
Peach Bowl Washington v Alabama = Alabama
Fiesta Bowl Ohio St v Clemson = Clemson
1/2/2017
Outback Bowl Florida v Iowa = Iowa
Cotton Bowl W Mich v Wisconsin = W Mich
Rose Bowl USC v Penn St = USC
Sugar Bowl Auburn v Oklahoma = Oklahoma
1/9
National Championship
Alabama v Clemson = Clemson 35-28
And for the record: I'd gladly trade that stupid trophy for two more wins in November.
saw something about Experimental Writing and Metamodern Studies whatever that is ...
I think called it graywashing before: Hillary dribbled out some lies which were eventually shown to be lies and came up with some new and improved lies which have been shown to be lies.
Why she is, after all this time, still protected for her conduct, is beyond me?
AP: McRINO and Gramnesty call for sanctioning Russia This is a good example of AP's suspect mo - inflammatory, unsubstantiated headline followed by claims about what people said without providing their actual quotes. An example: "The Obama administration has said the U.S. will respond at a time and with a means of its choosing." BOzo said the response would be "at a time and place of our choosing" - nothing at all iirc about "means". ... "U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Russia's goal was to help Trump win — an assessment Trump has dismissed as ridiculous." AP provides no Trump quote using the word "ridiculous" or showing in what context the word appears. I hope sbw finds a wide audience for the AP=exposing mission, and Trump takes away AP's front row-center WH briefing room seat and puts them in a corner chair against the back wall.
It is my understanding that the Comey letter was necessary because of the discovery of Anthony Weiner's laptop, and the NYPD people threatened to go public with stuff they found on it, much of it salacious and some damaging to Clinton.
Now, Rudy may have heard something from either the cops or FBI, but he didn't have to instigate anything. After Comey wrote that initial letter to Congress and reopened the investigation, the FBI claimed jurisdiction and took custody of the laptop (and Huma's, too). The result was that the NYPD lost the evidence and the FBI has it. (I am sure they thought Clinton was going to win.)
Then Comey wrote his second letter in which he said "nothing of importance."
12/30
Liberty Bowl Georgia v TCU = Georgia
Sun Bowl Stanford v UNC = Stanford
Music City Bowl Nebraska v Tennessee = Tennessee
Orange Bowl Michigan v FSU = Michigan
12/31
Citrus Bowl LSU v Louisville = Louisville
Gator Bowl GT v Kentucky = Ga. Tech
Peach Bowl Washington v Alabama = UW
Fiesta Bowl Ohio St v Clemson = Ohio St
1/2/2017
Outback Bowl Florida v Iowa = Florida
Cotton Bowl W Mich v Wisconsin = Wisconsin
Rose Bowl USC v Penn St = USC
Sugar Bowl Auburn v Oklahoma = Auburn
1/9
National Championship
UW v Ohio St = UW wins 34 - 28
Note: I may have let some homerism seep into my picks...
Now, Rudy may have heard something from either the cops or FBI, but he didn't have to instigate anything.
Yeah, but see, he was using a vulcan mind meld on him, which forced Comey to comply (or something like that . . . like Rich, I didn't manage to make it to the end).
Whoa! Newness!

Eggleston should be disbarred if the ambulance chasers were capable of policing themselves, which they aren't.
Posted by: Captain Hate | December 29, 2016 at 11:06 AM
Old Lurker,
I don't know how I come down on that.
Just some stuff to consider.

The Foundation needs to be completely exposed, particularly the thievery in Haiti.

Posted by: the generallyistic deplorable rich | December 29, 2016 at 11:34 AM
I'm only slightly less certain about this and unlike my last proclamation would love to be proven wrong;
Hillary will never be convicted of nor plea to a felony.

henry-
I'll be surprised if any of them get into trouble.
Posted by: the generallyistic deplorable rich | December 29, 2016 at 11:50 AM
Didn't I read somewhere (here maybe?) that accepting a pardon is tantamount to admitting guilt?
Also, penalties like loss of clearance, prohibitions from government office, etc. aren't criminal, so would they be covered by a pardon?

CH,
For this visiting Belgiphile, whenever you post about any of the games, give me the score:) I am too lazy to switch over to ESPN and screw them anyway.

Jack,
AM so glad you are reading that. It was written back in the 80's, so I am sure he's learned a lot since then, but his thinking is very unusual for someone in politics.
I think he was wise to pick Pence who will be able to assist him in navigating with Congress and the bureaucracy. He obviously is a quick study (notice how he mastered the teleprompter) and is willing to take advice.
He likes to keep people guessing, which he told us many times. "What ever happened to the element of surprise?"

I'm slowly changing over from an NFL guy to college, and really have no clue, but I'll play:
12/30
Liberty Bowl Georgia v TCU = Georgia
Sun Bowl Stanford v UNC = UNC
Music City Bowl Nebraska v Tennessee = Tennessee
Orange Bowl Michigan v FSU = Michigan
12/31
Citrus Bowl LSU v Louisville = L'ville
Gator Bowl GT v Kentucky = Ga. Tech
Peach Bowl Washington v Alabama = Alabama
Fiesta Bowl Ohio St v Clemson = Clemson
1/2/2017
Outback Bowl Florida v Iowa = Iowa
Cotton Bowl W Mich v Wisconsin = W Mich
Rose Bowl USC v Penn St = USC
Sugar Bowl Auburn v Oklahoma = Oklahoma
1/9
National Championship
Alabama v Clemson = Clemson 35-28
And for the record: I'd gladly trade that stupid trophy for two more wins in November.
Posted by: Cecil Turner | December 29, 2016 at 12:41 PM
noticed that.
saw something about Experimental Writing and Metamodern Studies whatever that is ...

Cecil,
It is my understanding that the Comey letter was necessary because of the discovery of Anthony Weiner's laptop, and the NYPD people threatened to go public with stuff they found on it, much of it salacious and some damaging to Clinton.
This is my understanding of the time line.
