The NY Times has the most tone-deaf headline imaginable in describing Obama's final press sendoff. Do sit down, swallow your coffee, and embrace the healing power of laughter:
In Farewell, Obama Sets Red Lines That Would Pull Him Back Into Fray
OMG! Surely the Loyal Timesman (and woman!) know that Obama's infamous "red line" in Syria will be a blot on his mis-Administration that future historians will spin desperately for decades. Why invoke it on his way out the door?
Since you ask, Obama was not daft enough to use the phrase himself, so this is just the Times having fun, or amnesia, or something.
And for a tiny bit of background - SecState John Kerry recently admitted that the perception of weakness following Barry Red Line's improvisations hurt US standing in the Middle East (and presumably the rest of the world).
Hillary Clinton ran away from her involvement, lying about her actual role during a televised debate with Trump, so we infer she is no longer defending that diplomatic debacle.
And Obama himself? Regrets, he may have a few, but then again, the red line is not one to mention. Publicly, anyway.
And I guess the Times has forgotten, or decided that only right-leaning troglodytes laugh about Barry Red Line.
Barry Red Line -- damn good tag that I think will stick.

After a shaky start imo with Spicer reading inauguration info in front of him is a somewhat disjointed manner, he redeemed himself by handling the questions-portion very well. He gave the first question to John Roberts, now at FOX News and iirc at CBS during Rathergate.

We have a new Wednesday night burgers and booze event at our podunk yacht club. Last night about five couples (all best pals) took the room over and started conjuring what we would do Saturday when our p*ssy hat ladies (a dozen?) show up to protest in our little town on our rock pile. That quickly devolved with drink until we now are planning an all day party tomorrow. Given that things start around 8:00 local time, bloody marys may be envolved.

While I'm online, I should give you guys my brief movie reviews for the annual Ivory SAG screening event hosted at the MT theater. I already mentioned a few days ago about Fences, which we thought would get a pile of statues. Since then Arrival was mostly meh. I enjoyed it for the play on the linearity of time. Jackie was just awful. What a pile of shitake. We gave up after about 30 min. while hoping it would start getting watchable. I suspect it was a Natalie wet dream that managed to con several money bags types to chip in. (You know the kind where five minutes is consumed in the beginning dribbling out all the no-name outfits claiming ownership.)
Hidden Figures was quite charming. They worked you over on the man/woman, black/white discrimination in a reasonable way and let it play out to a good end. I'm anxious to talk with my old NASA buddy who started at Langley in '61 when this was all framed.
Lastly, we watched Captain Fantastic. Reasonably done, but dripping in hippy commie nostalgia. After thinking about it, it reminds me of the old Mosquito Coast flick with Harrison Ford.

Numero uno is up, as predicted its Iran:
"The Iran Deal is the single worst thing Barack Obama accomplished over the past 8 years – which is why it claims the #1 spot on the Freedom Center's list of Obama's Worst Blunders.
After all, shortly after signing the so-called nuclear deal, Iran test-fired a missile with these words emblazoned on the side:
Israel should be wiped out of the face of the world.
Iran's intentions are clear and Obama played right into their hands...
The deal does not stop Iran, the #1 sponsor of terrorism, from enriching uranium or developing centrifuges or missile technology.
It rewarded this terrorist regime with $100 billion in sanctions relief, which you and I both know will be reinvested in groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
And it likely launched a nuclear arms race in the most volatile region in the world."
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow...

That was badly worded and it's bothering me, so ... Pence announced that 20% of the federal funds allocated for the Inauguration/transfer of power wasn't spent and will be returned to the Treasury.
Pence also said there's a Day 1 execution plan, a Day 100, and a Day 200. And there will be a newly formed ONE - Office of National Engagement. He noted that 1200 organizations from around the country had already been heard from.
