The NY Times has broken with their normal practice and decided to give their readers a dose of reality:

The victim appeared to be white, while others shown in the video appeared to be black.

Whatever. Ed Driscoll, posting at Instapundit, has more on the network "coverage" Wednesday night.

And just to state the obvious - Heaven help us if four awful whites did this to a black person. We would be having a national conversation about nothing else and there would be Serious People calling for a delay to the Trump inauguration.

I posted a month ago about going to a 60th wedding anniversary for a couple who were long term friends of Mrs. Buckeye's parents.

The gent is an ex-Army Colonel who worked for the gas company after retiring from the service. During his subsequent retirement from the gas company, he worked at the local Sears hardware store part-time when in Ahia for the summer. I think he mostly liked having something to do, but getting out of the house might explain 60 years:)

I ask him why I hadn't seen him at Sears in the last few years and he told me that Sears franchised all/most of the hardware stores and he quit because our store went to hell in a hand basket.

Sears has been disintegrating for quite awhile, and I bet lots of landlords are going to get stiffed before it is finished.

Man Tran, my wife has her Ph.D. in theater and runs the program at Florida A&M -- so I've seen the award-winning play multiple times. Haven't seen the flick yet but surely will soon. I love the story; August Wilson had a good ear for Black American dialogue. He may be too wordy for some.

Most black actors hold August Wilson in the highest regard and Denzel is no different. My concern was (is) he and the screenwriter might not mitigate some of that wordiness for which the playwright is famous and it might not translate well to the big screen.

You seem impressed, though, so maybe it worked *or* maybe they did pare it back properly. If you have further questions or thoughts, I'm all ears.

A whole lot of those stores are in shopping centers developed when it was common to rent to the anchors for extremely long leases at extremely low rents on the theory that they would pull in so much traffic that the developer could profit nicely from the other stores. Now that Sears is no longer getting any traffic at all, but their store still pays extremely low rent, most landlords would be very very grateful to have Sears leaves and give up the balance of their leases. Trouble is Sears knows that and those leases usually have substantial value because the rents are so low.

Will be fun to watch, but not many will be sorry to see them go.

That's why they support Black Lies Matter, anarchy, the withdrawal of police from 'communities of color'
(particularly the local BLM principals in Chicago) and
