Make America great again

And first

America first

Make this thread great

make solipsism great again

Egg McMuffin jumped on board that nonsense.

I guess AP passes VERY Fake News CNN to take the pole position as EXTREMELY Fake News.

Another day, another leak by nameless unelected bureaucrats to be broadcast by the adversarial press...maybe some firings at the DHS?

Captain Hate

The only President to "round 'em up" was Saint Delano, and that was for legal citizens.

The Donald just declared fake news outlets "the enemy of the American People"

The society for the emergency provision of depends needs your donation now!

Was just advised by the PFD free money folks that my application for a PFD check in 2017 was denied because as a consequence of my job I was out of the State of Alaska for more than 180 days. I am still required to pull Jury Duty if called, since I am a State Resident in all other respects except for receiving a PFD check.

No biggie. Them's the rules, but just thought I'd pass that along.

Here in southern CA, even the heavens are leaking.

Obviously the EPA caused your drought. It's slaying plus the mass sacrifice of its clerks will bring water to the desert.

David, Infamous Deplorable

Actually, we are good. You can keep slaying EPA clerks, but we really don't need any more water here in Los Angeles. I am sick of getting wet.

Breaking news!

NEW: Secret Service investigating after vehicle in Pres. Trump’s motorcade in Florida was struck by an apparently thrown object (1/2)

Hey, if you click on over quick to channel 643, you'll be able to catch the 2nd Half of the Iona Gaels gals against the Quinnipiac Lady Bobcats.

43% of fans think Quinnipiac will win, 27% of Quinnipiac fans think Quinnipiac might win, 22% of Quinnipiac fans think Quinnipiac will lose and 18% of Quinnipiac fans have no opinion whether Quinnipiac will win or lose.

Quinnipiac gals may be the reason we walked up science hill and beyond to Albertus Magnus. Or it could have been the beer. At least 18% of us were to drunk to tell (or care).

Frau Regentropfen klopfen an meinem Fenster

For every one object thrown at Pres. Trump, we shall hurl 10 at former president Jive Ass.

Animus in Prague sounds like a psychological mystery, Jane. Just throw in Mozart to make lyle happy.

David, Infamous Deplorable

Captain Hate,

I noticed your complaints about endless email updates from FacePlantBook. There is a setting for that. I am not sure where it is, but it irritated me enough that I turned it off about three months ago. I found it using Bing and "Facebook email updates turn off" or something similar.

I should have known I'd be out of form and miss checking for a new thread before posting. Anyway. . .

* * *

Fortunately, I don't think Trump is looking for a ValJar and he will hopefully manage to keep Bannon sufficiently in check, but I really don't like seeing all this insider sniping play out in the press — and with Breitbart enthusiastically pushing the story, I don't think we can blame that on the unusal anti-Trump media suspects.

Posted by: JM Hanes | February 17, 2017 at 01:00 PM

Until proven otherwise, I'm rolling with Steve Bannon with gusto. And I'm not giving much credence, JMHanes, to media reports -- even if from conservative sites -- on inner fighting. Everybody is jockeying for position, even if informally. Totally expected and unsurprising.

I'm confident our President will make the necessary and proper decisions.

On the bright side, Momto2, I saw in the paper that you're getting two new live oaks...

Posted by: Beasts of England | February 17, 2017 at 03:15 PM

Hmmmm . . . live oaks from the Great State of Florida. #WDE, Momto2.

Frau, I loved Prague so much I retained Caro to make me a painting of it. I'd post it, but for some reason I can't remember how.

I loved Budapest even more. But I think Budapest would would be really hard to paint because it's all lights.

Frau Regentropfen klopfen an meinem Fenster

Don't be a wet blanket, David. Think of all the progs who ripped out their lawns, planted gravel and cacti and are watching it get washed away. Gov. Choo-Choo told us all again last summer that the drought is here to stay for our life times.

Sorry, art, that all the rain falling here at the base of the mountains will find its way down to your doorstep.

Rally time in FL, RG! Will you be there?

Newer new thread.

Read the links.

You will thank TM for them.

They're already countering the rope -a-dope. It's a subject for choaticians to ponder, but even the man on the street is restless. Too much smooth machinery suggests chicanery.

Already cracks in the EGG appear with greater and greater frequency

You can fool everyone some of the time.

Ahem. Prague-->Liszt. Salzburg or perhaps Vienna-->Mozart. 😀

Salzburg is one of my all time favorite cities.

Liszt was Hungarian by birth, not Czech. He was trained in Vienna, and then moved to Paris.

My pop's outfit liberated Salzburg in the last few days of WW2:

Most of the glory of the last two days of the war went to Col. Heintges' 7th Regt. Second Bn. rolled into Salzburg, while 1st and 3rd Bns., commanded by Lt. Col. Kenneth Wallace and Maj. Flynn, raced to capture Berchtesgaden. There they raised the American flag at Hitler's Eagle's Nest while in Salzburg, Lt. Col. Duncan waited with Brig. Gen. Robert N. Young, Asst. Division Commander, to accompany a German armistice commission to division headquarters.

My mom before she passed, back in the late 90's, went on one of those European canal cruises with my 2 sisters, and when they stopped at Salzburg it was announced that her husband, my late pop, had been integral in liberating Salzburg, so they took her with fanfare to some big plaque memorializing the liberation of the City. She was humbled and very grateful.

That's wonderful, daddy.

I know nothing about Salzburg except Mozart and The Sound of Music.

Robin, 10 Square Miles

Today I took my 10 year old daughter to the Flight 93 Memorial in southwestern PA. Unlike most memorials it's in the middle of nowhere - on Lincoln HWY in the Allegheny highlands. It sneaks up on you with its unobtrusive signage and wending approach road.

The view is spectacular. Everyone there has made a special point of going, making the tears, sniffles, and head shaking demonstrations of anger all the more poignant. It is a stark reminder of courage in the face of fear, of what we lost that day. My daughter was in tears and I realized that she had not seen the videos of the that day.

That part of PA is Trump country - lots of signs still up. As we drove back to the interstate I smiled at the thought of all those folks watching yesterday's press conference.

Frau Mozarteum

My husband and his younger brother were sent to Anif which is a village that at one time was at the end of the streetcar line from Salzburg. Children were sent to escape all the bombings on the lower Rhine. I've told before how the children in the village played in the garden of the local bishop's palace. This was the garden where guests would be surprised by hidden water fountains on walkways, tables and chairs. It was all shut down during the war and the children climbed over the walls to go in.
When we visited, we walked by the country estate of Herbert von Karajan. As the Donald would say "Very big. Big. Really big."

Jane, my State Dept bro, has told me Prague is the most beautiful place he's ever seen.
I've never been there.
Edinburgh is my favorite.
My bro was young, just finished college and about to start his USAF career as he back packed thru Europe. In Prague, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE was being filmed. My bro and some young ladies he was hanging with, were invited to a post film party. My brother saw Tom Cruise making out with a guy.
Great story over 20 years old.

From the Old Thread:

On this fine day for the future of the Republic, the day the EPA received its comeuppance in an astouding *fizzle* of the Schumerian resistance, I'm reminded of what's in store for the enviros' evil empire of supporting bad actors----- COMMON SENSE:

"The Sierra Club and the U. S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population.

It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution to this issue.

What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The males would then be castrated and let loose again.

This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U. S. Forest Service.

All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes.

Finally an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said,

"Son, I don't think you understand our problem here.

These coyotes ain't screwing our sheep; they're eatin' 'em!"

The meeting never really got back to order.

White House says AP report on National
Guard mobilization is false, NBC "

How do I access the JOM Archives?

From the article, even though it's a fake news story, militarizing the border was something I went on about last week:

"The Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up unauthorized immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border, according to a draft memo obtained by The Associated Press. However, a senior administration official told NBC News the report was "false." The 11-page document calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana. Four states that border on Mexico are included in the proposal -- California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas"

Lovin' this.

Ruh roh:

Also at the sight, it is being reported that Jeh Johnson's johnson has been caught in a wringer over misuse of email access to private accounts and lying to Congress.

"...and the winds begin to howl!"

We also went to Salzberg last m
May. It was beautiful but didn't hold a candle to Budapest or Prague IMO.

Gus your brother is a smart guy.
