Remember when the failing @nytimes apologized to its subscribers, right after the election, because their coverage was so wrong. Now worse!

Captain Hate

The libs have gone full retard: my wife told me on Zuckerberg people are boycotting Russian salad dressing. To her credit, I guess, she sees the stupidity in that.

Pete Seeger in Hell must be so sad. I always thought those clowns considered Tail Gunner Joe a moderate.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Captain Hate,

Seriously? Do they think Russian dressing is made in Russia?

That is Marie Harf level of stupid.

Captain Hate

Trump is the best troll ever. No wonder dumbassdave barely comes around. Bow to the Master, fools.

Mason wrote that the "WHCA board regrets this decision very much. We have worked hard to build a constructive relationship with the Trump White House and believe strongly that this goal is possible even with the natural tension between the press and administrations that is a hallmark of a healthy republic."

What a joke. THAT is the problem. There was NO tension between the press & the Obama administration. None. It was a 'Star' & his fan club.

James D

Janet, under Obama, it was worse than that.

It was a cult leader and his abused cultists who kept coming back for more abuse time and time again.

It was a 'Star' & his fan club.

Today's "natural tension":

Sadly, I spent a few minutes flipping through WaPo this morning. My overwhelming impression was that it looked like how I used to imagine Mad Magazine editors living on pizza and beer in all nighters "Dude! Let's say it this way!".

I dream that the ghosts of the Graham family would hire SBW to walk them through any random issue with a blue pencil to point out what the punk has done to their old paper.

Old Lurker

Oh. The big headline was how Trump had tried to prevent Yates from testifying. Guess they didn't hear Spicer...

They're being tortured eternally in Hell anyway for the fine job of lying they did with the Downtown Daily Worker. Giving Katie the Religion column was blasphemous enough to condemn their worthless souls.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I see Hillary resurfaced to accuse the Trump administration of hating women.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4358778/Clinton-jabs-Trump-major-post-election-speech.html

This includes an attack on Sean Spicer for telling April Ryan to quit shaking her head while he was answering.

April Ryan is consistently the most annoying person in the press briefing room. She asks mostly race-based questions except for the Russian conspiracy stuff. She is very rude, acts entitled, believes she should get tons of time compared to other reporters, and is just a terrible person.

I personally don't think she should even have press credentials; she's that bad.

I guess Hillary figures she should get attention while Obama is hiding out in Tahiti.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Do you think the Reps in congress understand yet that the Dems have declared total war?
That they obviously intend to make it impossible for a GOP president and congress to govern?
As long as their tactics continue to cause Republican infighting and Trump's poll numbers to decline they will continue to obstruct and lie.
And of course if they succeed they will never let any GOP government function in the future. But they can count on the Reps never returning the favor.
Open warfare grows closer.

henry

iggy, nuke option votes in Senate will answer part of that question.

Old Lurker

Iggy, I actually think many of them are "Enemies Within" who, if they think at all, think they will be allowed to hang on when the UniParty takes us into the One World in the Sky.

Old Lurker

Henry is right that blocking the nuclear option if that happens will tell the tale.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

One question is whether the FBI "Russia investigation" will ever end.
Seems to me it's more of a James Comey job security program than an investigation.
As long as he is investigating the Trump admin he figures Trump won't fire him no matter what kind of crap he's been up to.

PD

I guess Hillary figures she should get attention while Obama is hiding out in Tahiti.

Perhaps April Ryan could go interview her and spend less time at the WH.

narciso

No that Jeff zeleny, who subsequently was hired at Rupert pumpkin, CNN, yes i' m concerned about Plame 2 electric boogaloo.

They seem to be zeroing in on this Michael Ellis like Richard Burton at the end of ' the spy that came in from the cold'

Old Lurker

"he figures Trump won't fire him no matter what"

Pretty soon now, the Trump voters are going to need to see some Rule of Law scalps hanging on the fence around the WH. If there are none, that will not bode well for MAGA and DTS.

Old Lurker

And these are not the sorts of scalps I'm talking about:

"Two anti-abortion activists who made undercover videos of themselves trying to buy fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood were charged with 15 felonies, California prosecutors announced Tuesday.

State Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced the charges against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt. Becerra said the two used a fictitious bioresearch company to meet with women's health care providers and covertly record them.

Prosecutors said they invaded the privacy of medical providers by filming without consent."

narciso

It seems treasury moles are leaking details re deripasha, why didn't they fine the bank of Cyprus as is their want.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Well I asked the question a few days ago why anyone would think Susan Collins or the Bobsie Twins would nuke Chuck U.
If they don't they have essentially conceded the Dems get to set the Republican agenda and we are effectively a one party state.
In reality the Dems are on the canvas electorally and the GOP instead of going to a neutral corner, let alone standing over the criminals mocking them like Ali over Liston, are down there helping them up and putting the horseshoe back in their glove for them .

The red mist descends.

Old Lurker

That's how I see it too, Iggy.

The Ledge is clean and well stocked, just so you know.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I saw that Orrin Hatch said that Gorsuch would be confirmed one way or another.

That bodes well.

Also, McCain was on TV this morning and a friend of mine on another site said he was oozing guilt from every pore. I think he's more involved in shady dealings than even I credited him with.

I will say about him what I said about Jessie Jackson back in the day: I think all of these trips are covering up for him doing illegal arms sales.

Old Lurker

If so then McCain's scalp should be on the fence right with the others.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4359662/Amazon-s-physical-store-breaks-down.html

Am trying to figure out how this works. If you don't have an Amazon account, and there are no cashiers, what's to stop you from simply stealing the stuff?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Old Lurker,

McCain has been on my radar for a very long time. We know he has crooked tendencies (Keating 5) and that he has serious delusions about foreign policy and military operations. He also thinks he should have been president.

I wouldn't mind seeing him under arrest.

Captain Hate

Do the RINOs even get to vote on the nuke option. I thought the Searchlight Creep imposed it himself although I might be misremembering that. Keep in mind that we're talking about a gaggle of nitbrains which the founders, correctly until the meddling do gooders screwed the pooch, didn't have directly elected.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Reid made the rule change but it still had to be approved by a simple majority IIRC.

Wasn't the tension between Obama and the media really bad when they looked into POTUS eligibility and Obama changing his Fact Check from being born a 14th Ammendment citizen to being an eligible citizen?

That was front page stuff.

narciso

Becerra, was officially one of the rockst surgeons in Congress, so that means steadman is doing the heavy lifting.

Old Lurker

MM, I knew his mother and father back when he was captive, so the family starts out with a good bit of credit in my account (not to mention his dad's contribution in WWII). Fast forward to Keating Five and I say Femall. Nothing since then has changed my disgust with him one bit.

Scalp on the WH fence works for me.

Old Lurker

Iggy is correct at 9:52. But votes are easy in the Mafia.

Appalled

Iggy:

Though I haven't confessed this that much in these precincts, I always thought that the Dems in Congress needed to be broken by the next President. (It's why I supported Walker -- he's had some experience at that.) Russia is a good excuse for the Democrats to be entirely recalcitrant -- it's why anything Trump or his allies do to get the entire picture in front of everyone is smart, and stuff that they do that looks like they are suppressing things is unwise. This excuse for the Democrat's total war approach needs to be eliminated.

Comey needs to be in a position where he has to put up or shut up.

Captain Hate

McRINO's wife probably can't stand being around him, which I completely understand, otherwise she'd tell the old coot what a fool he constantly makes of himself in public.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Iggy,

One time a few years ago I came across a comment by someone in the government who referred to the general public as "civilians." This wasn't a military guy, but someone in one of the agencies, maybe IRS.

It upset me because it showed how government employees viewed themselves as a breed apart. Maybe it hinted to me about the Deep State but I didn't realize it at the time.

One of the major problems we have, and I hope President Trump has an effect on this, is that too many of our politicians are career politicians. Paul Ryan is an example of this. He went from college to being a congressional aide to running for Congress, and now he is speaker. Zero private sector experience except a summer driving the Wienermobile.

There's something wrong when someone like Donald Trum (successful in construction, resort management, book sales, and television) is viewed as unqualified while someone like Marco Rubio (Florida legislature then Senate) or Ted Cruz (Bush aide, then Senate) is viewed as highly qualified. They are one-dimensional people who only understand government and bureaucracy.

Of course you need some knowledge of it, but the problem is that these people only see solutions one way. I think it would be healthier if more of our elected officials came from the private sector.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

It occurs to me that NRO is falling into the same trap as the left, only on the other side of the spectrum.

"Socialism will work this time. The Russians didn't do it right."

"Free trade will work. NAFTA didn't do it right."

Both sides refuse to admit that their positions don't take into account human fallibility and the lust for power and wealth.

In the case of socialism, we find out that some animals are more equal than others, and in the case of free trade we find companies and entire countries using the rules to rob workers of their jobs.

That is why I agree with President Trump on bilateral trade deals rather than the complex multi-country ones. When you have a bunch of countries in the mix the others can gang up on the US and make demands not to our advantage.

No one ever talks about this when discussing something like TPP. Except Trump did talk about it, and it makes perfect sense to me.

Old Lurker

They also have the FWaPo too, Jim.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

While I have never subscribed to the "Teh Donald is playing 11D chess" bit I am heartened to consider his amazing ability to adjust and adapt and come back.
Progs love to skewer him over bankruptcies as though they signal some moral or business failure.
They show me a guy who plays a high risk game and who knows how to scramble back into a winning position when a risk goes belly up.
I'd say, contrary to the 100 day stuff, he has about 18 months to do some significant stuff.
The question is whether he can drag the losers in congress along by their pussies.

Captain Hate

I would like to see the DoJ do something about this.

Correct about Comey--he thinks Trump wouldn't dare fire him, but if he refuses to appear in a closed session of the Congressionall investigating committee, he's right at the edge of the cliff.

I find it difficult to believe that the filibuster won't be nuked for supreme court nominees. McCain may dissent, but I don't think the others will. The Dems have no incentive to vote for Trump's nominee, and every incentive to avoid a primary battle for supporting anything Trump.

I am coming around to simply nuking the filibuster period, though I don't think the Senate GOP is ready to do that yet. Mitch used the filibuster effectively while in the minority, and he knows that someday, the GOP will be in the minority again.

His greasy Deep State UniParty foe doesn't quite grasp that reality. Their penchant for attempting decapitation strikes says as much.

Advantage is to POTUS as the learning curve ever so slowly levels out while more and more skillful, not to mention useful, allies and staffers are brought to bear on specific problems.

This is a marathon no matter how badly the opposition wants to boil it down to a 40 yard dash, winner-take-all.

Time is of the essence and every round counts. And POTUS needs to load cannister shot at the earliest opportunity, have it at the ready and mow these clowns down in the runup to mid-terms.

At a risk of being padlocked, I feel it necessary to present this scenario.

Imagine it is 2008 and Trump is ths leading Republican.

It comes to light that Trump has eligibility questions that cannot be resolved due to ex post facto issues. IOW, the law that would make him a citizen did not exist until a few years after he was born and it provided no retroactive language.

Does anyone think that Senate Democrats(holding the majority), including two Democrat POTUS candidates, would author a bill that would ostensibly resolve the matter for the leading republican so the country can move on?

It is impossible for me to believe that McCain wasn't picked to lose. By both parties. It is tough to drain a swamp that has this much collusion in the trap.

KK, I think the most appropriate fate for Rodham would be for everyone around her to be prosecuted and jailed for the unspeakable corruption of the CLinton Foundation - including Chelsea and Bill, and Huma and all the other loyalists.

Leave her standing - give her a Presidential pardon, even - but confiscate all the money, and let her live out her remaining years as a pariah, only able to see her daughter on visiting days, her grandchildren shipped off to foster homes, having to beg for scraps from her former supporters in order to make ends meet, knowing that she will never have power or influence or wealth for the rest of her days.

That would truly be a fate worse than death for her.

"“When [the NSA] uses their authority to unmask them we have very stringent rules,” the official said, speaking only on condition of anonymity due to secret nature of the NSA’s work. “We have very strict oversight from all three branches of government -- the executive, judicial and legislative."

Great oversight when the Ch of the House Intel Comm has to hear about it from a leaker...when the Judicial oversight is from a secret court, and when the Executive Oversight is running the Rico scheme.

Is there some indication McCain is wobbly on Gorsuch (to the extent of nuking the filibuster on SCOTUS nominees)? I thought he'd just said a few days ago that he was open to it:

Arizona senator John McCain hinted Thursday afternoon that he's ready to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch with a simple majority if Senate Democrats take the unprecedented step of filibustering a Supreme Court nominee. Asked what Republicans should do if 41 or more Democrats try to block Gorsuch, McCain told THE WEEKLY STANDARD: "I think we'll address it when it happens. None of us want to do it, but we're going to confirm Gorsuch."
I don't see him voting to blow up the rule entirely, but a limited nuke on SCOTUS nominees appears to be in the cards, if necessary, and would be a proportionate response to the Dems' use of it to stuff the DC circuit.
