Old Lurker

I keep forgetting her, SBW.

Buckeye

Way OT.

This week I drove a rental RAV4 with dynamic cruise control. My first taste of this particular kind of driving nanny. Total fail, and what was worse, I would have needed the manual which wasn't in the vehicle to turn it off.

This is an example of the technology "self driving" vehicles are hanging their hat on.

No thanks.

Old Lurker

Buckeye, we have a new Rav4.

It is so complicated to decode the cryptic symbols, and the gazillion pages of manuals are so useless that I have had to google my questions. My wife actually had to take it to the dealer to figure out what some warning lights were saying and they were stumped too.

It is a nice small SUV for hauling the dogs around, but boy the technology "help" is a pain in the butt.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Here is how I feel about this whole Ivanka-Jared thing.

Trump has to have people he can 100% trust who have no agenda except his. There are very few of those, even within his inner staff. The Kushners fit that to a T. They know how he thinks, what to look for, and will tell him the truth.

I don't agree with everything Ivanka promotes BUT I am not the only person who voted for Trump. If you want to expand President Trump's support, it doesn't hurt to feature women's entrepreneurship and child care, which I know starts a lot of grumbling here, but it is a fact.

Trump's constituency includes a whole lot of democrats. As I said some months ago, we are in the middle of a party realignment. Trump is going to capture the center right and center left, based on pragmatism and results. He is more sympathetic to the Christian message than any president except perhaps W, but not in a preachy way. It pops out in statements like that he made after the Syria missile attack, where he voiced prayer for the souls of the dead and referenced that "no child of God" should suffer like that.

He's a man of his times, so is not one to moralize or even talk about this much, but he is a defender of the faith, which we haven't seen in a long time.

The country is going to look very different in a couple of years, and that is a good thing.

Well, that's what I think, anyway.

matt, deplore me if you must

So far this week we found:

1 - Susan Rice lied through her teeth and led the witch hunt against Trump.

2 - It went to the highest levels and implicates Comey and Clapper. (Spreading unmasked info around like Ed Sullivan feeding the pigeons makes this obvious)

3 - John Kairy and Barack Hussein Obama knew their chemical weapons sham was a sham from the outset.

4 - Trump has a conscience and huevos to go with it.

5 - Neil Gorsuch will soon be spanking leftist litigators bigly.

6 - The whole Russia/Trump meme was complete BS.

7 - Vladimir I was left stuttering and flustered.

All in all, not a bad week.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

matt,

But wait, there's more!

http://theblacksphere.linkis.com/60wBS

Wikileaks has apparently got an email in which Hillary admitted to Podesta that she gave the stand-down order in Benghazi.

I will need to find the original email to make sure this is right. I am headed to the Reddit site now to see if they have it.

Since we have a Toyota product, I immediately knew how to arm the cruise control.

I wasn't prepared for the "radar ready" message that popped up on the screen.

My first thought was "so where is the switch to release the 500 pound ordinance"?:)

Man Tran,

One of the brightest people I ever worked with was a guy whose desk top looked like ten people had dumped their waste baskets on top of it. He knew where every piece of paper was, and no one ever dared to think about tidying up his desk.

He also had the nicest personality. Always calm and with a ready smile for everyone. So easy to work with and smart as a whip.

Clarice Feldman

OL I think he can do what he said he would and will prove to be a very consequential president. Maybe this means the end of presidents who sat around in the Senate instead of, you know, doing something before hitting the Oval Office.

Clarice Feldman

Barbara, that's my experience, too. My desk is always a mess--in Sixth grade it was the bane of our teacher. former Congressman Ken Hechler (author of "Bridge at Remagen")never used file cabinets, He had a round table in his office which was piled high with papers. Whenever I needed to see high to discuss something he had a record of, he'd cast a glinty eye at the pile, poke his hand into it and come out with just what we were looking for.

Hmmmm.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

If anyone finds the list of guests for tomorrow's Sunday shows, please post it.

We had the visits of 3 foreign leaders to DC and Mar-a-Lago, a new Supreme Court Justice confirmed, and the missile strike on Syria in retaliation to the poison gas attack (which Obama, Kerry and Rice bragged about getting rid of, another lie).

If they start in with the Russia, Russia., Russia thing again, we will know to ignore them forevermore.

lurkersusie

National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster joins Chris Wallace to break down the attack and the crucial next steps.

The much-anticipated interview will be McMaster's first since he replaced Michael Flynn as Trump's national security advisor.

In addition to McMaster, Wallace will also sit down with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) on what's sure to be a big edition of "Fox News Sunday."

Buckeye

Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice's appearance in Rochester has been cancelled.

Rice was set to speak at the "Women Helping Girls Conference 2017" on Saturday at the Theatre on the Ridge. Officials cite a ticketing error.

Maybe they concluded "Women Helping Girls Lie" wouldn't look good on the marquee:)

Old Lurker

Cardin & Wallace?

Poor Cap'n Hate.

We need to pay him more.

ABC's "This Week" - Secretary of State Rex Tillerson; Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla; Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations; Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Tim Kaine, D-Va.

CBS' "Face the Nation" - Tillerson; Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

CNN's "State of the Union" - Haley; Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii.

"Fox News Sunday" - Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, national security adviser; Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Ben Cardin, D-Md.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Thanks, lurkersusie!

I assume they kept Tillerson from NBC and CNN due to the administration's displeasure.

Both networks get Haley instead, but if they think they are going to roll her, they haven't been watching her at the UN.

I hope Tillerson shuts John McCain down on Face the Nation. McCain must be there as "opposition" since there are no democrats. HA!

Since there is a white flag, we must not fight.

Great heavens, c; I just reread Hechler's B @ R, last week.

Clarice Feldman

Ken Hechler was a very decent man,kim/

All right. JOMbreros.... heading to the Great Central Valley with Mrs Kid for an overnight.

Sweat lodge ceremony.... will be an all-Nations tribute to the awakening of the Bears across our great land. Will keep you all in prayers for healing. Will pray for this Blessed Republic--- that we begin to cleanse her spirit and recover the essence of it in our everyday lives.

For me it is no longer about politics. That just makes me itch as my outburst on here are best characterized--- scratching what isn't going to be relieved.

I am of a confirmed Faith that we have been saved once again as a Nation from the darkness with human faces. As we look out on the Valley today traveling to ceremony I will remember that because of JOM I am not alone in these worldly concerns. But it is paramount for me to rejuvenate and restore an obviously beleaguered spirit.

The Divine is infinite and therefore indefatigable. We've been granted unlimited gifts--- all of us. May they bring us peace.

Okay. Having said that much and opened my back to the trolls and cynics... let me extend thanks to Brother Gator Man.

Seriously. Any words of confirmation from you RG I take to heart. Your esprit d' corps is something I admire. Your service. Your service.

And as one who is making his way this time around on Earth *not under arms* it is my fellow travelers who have served, like you, bring a sense of purpose and honor to these endeavors to take hill after hill in this Long War.

I am grateful to you and how you are living.

"Every man thinks meanly of himself for not having been a soldier, or not having been at sea." --- Samuel Johnson

That quote woke me to the physics of history and the dreams which bring *ALL* of it back from erstwhile times thought unknown.

And our present day warriors are like magnets of faith that our Long War is a noble, necessary quest.

Peace be with you. See you Sunday afternoon sometime.

Hmmm, Tim Kaine, we will know to ignore them forevermore.....

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I figure Schiff is on to try to get back to the Russia, Russia, Russia thing because Rice is married to an ABC exec.

Latest thing is some representative says that because the Administration warned the Russians that PROVES this was collusion with Russia and the whole missile strike was staged.

Seriously. They ignore we have an agreement with the Russians for just such an event as this.

I hope they go down that path, as they are looking more and more like lunatics.

Barbara

"Barbara, that's my experience, too. My desk is always a mess--in Sixth grade it was the bane of our teacher. former Congressman Ken Hechler (author of "Bridge at Remagen")never used file cabinets,.."

Clarice,

Why change what obviously works?

I like things to be organized, but I loathe file cabinets. Once something goes in a file cabinet no matter how organized it may be, it's as good as disappeared IMO. I use them for documents I won't have to see again for years.

I have a similar view about my kitchen. I know where everything is, but if someone moves an item or puts it in another place, I'll know it. My system may not suit all, but everyone knows not to mess with my ktchen!

Frau Reistafel

Some of you will remember seeing old movies from the 1930s where someone runs in smiling and shouts, "The depression is over!" On our walk this morning, I noticed the LATimes headline stated that Gov. Moonbeam had announced--grimly, no doubt--"The drought is over!" It must have pained him to admit that our drought was over in 5 years when the eco-nazis had assured us it was going to be forever. The believers tore out their lawns, killed city trees and covered their yards with gravel, yuccas, and a token citrus tree.

Frau Reistafel

Janet - I hear ya. How soon before all those able-bodied Syrian yutes in Europe and America start heading back to the ME?

This is noise, not news.

I recall launching a few times from Beirut International Airport shortly after it had absorbed various cluster bomb strikes and I recall my crusty and seasoned old Vietnam era copilot teaching me how to slowly advance our large debris inhaling engines so as to achieve takeoff speed without sucking up chunks of exploded concrete that could have torched our engines and grounded us. President Trump is correct.
