As Dems prep for 2020 Joe Biden is optimistic about their opportunity as the Party of Pessimism:
MANCHESTER, N.H. — A vast array of Democratic leaders, divided by generations but uniformly emboldened by President Trump’s perceived vulnerability, have begun taking palpable steps toward seeking the White House in an election that is still three and a half years away.
A prominent member of that group, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., may have sounded a starting gun for the 2020 race on Sunday night as he delivered a tough-love manifesto for the party’s future to a crowd of Democrats here.
Mr. Biden called on Democrats to deliver an optimistic message aimed at the needs of struggling Americans and to emphasize issues like health care and education, which he described as largely sidelined in the last election. “I’m absolutely positive they want to be with us,” he said of people in economic distress. “We have to prove, again, we understand that hopelessness.”
Go, go Joe! When I think of hopeless I think of Biden, as do we all. I also notice that [Insert honorific here] Biden has even cleaned up his language a bit - could he be warming up for 2020 himself?
Mr. Biden said he was prepared to storm the country to help revive the party, and boasted of his comfort in wooing areas that voted for Mr. Trump. “Wherever you want, just let me know, because it’s important,” he said.
"It's important"?!? I would say it is a big effing deal.

I posted this at the end of the previous thread before I realized there was a new one:
Old Lurker,
These are 4 articles, all related, which relate to your concerns. It is why I am patient, because I understand who is wielding the influence and who is writing the legislation. It will take time to fix this.
I also think once you read this you will see that Rush got all of his show prep here and did not attribute it to Sundance. According to what I read on the Treehouse site, it was almost word for word from Part 2.

Jim Demint is apparently leaving Heritage. I also saw a director of a big medical clinic (Mayo or Cleveland, can't remember which) who has been consulting for the White House has also turned in his resignation. This sounds to me like they are bringing more people in to write legislation.
At any rate, I am optimistic that things will get done in unexpected ways.
I hope you take the time to read those articles.

Thanks, MM. This was near the end of #4:
"President Trump needed only three legislative items to fulfill his policy mission:
...Repeal of ObamaCare.
...Passage of Tax Reform. -OR- Just the targeted portions of the tax proposal.
...Passage of a budget.
Despite all the media protestations to the contrary, these are the only three essential ingredients in the President Trump domestic policy agenda."
MM, I would add a fourth:
...Build a wall along our Southern Border.
So I worry because:
...The only O'care repeal was anything but a repeal, institutionalized many super dangerous features of O'care, and never got the votes. The amended version looks even worse, but so far does not have the votes either.
...To soon to say on Tax Reform but if it is handled as the O'care Repeal and the CR and the Wall have been handled, his grand plans have zero chance.
...Pass a budget? This first half year budget looks like a Chuck Schumer Barak Obama bath house wet dream. Yes I know they say the next one will be all Trump.
...Build a Wall? Then why would he sign a CR that not of does not fund a wall, but prohibits one?
Your links make my points.

Hi all, was just returning to campus from jury selection (cancelled) when I saw the emergency vehicles coming in. Parked and called Mr Porch who checked Twitter and urged me to come home (we didn't know the suspect had been apprehended). The police said to stay away from the area, but I feel bad not being with my people at work. So sad. I may go back in later if they give the all clear. Can't seem to get in touch with anyone.
The stabbing was right near my building, at the gym which is kitty corner across the street. If it's true that a CC person stopped the spree, that might ease some liberal minds on campus....maybe.

More Madness: Pomona College Protests the Hiring of a White Professor
Not sure if this info was known at the time, but the story is 100x more schadenfreudlicious than previously realized.
The white professor who was hired (and whose hiring caused the fracas) is no ordinary white professor, but instead is a leading warrior in the "fabricate anti-white narratives in order to bring about the Black Revolution" cause, and it was for that very reason she was hired -- because although her skin tone may be white, she's so left-left-left-left-wing and so pro-black that she makes Rachel Dolezal look like Edgar Winter.
Her masterwork? Writing a book called "On the Run: Fugitive Life in an American City" in which she "goes rogue" and basically joins black gang members on their crime sprees, then wrote about it for a white intellectual audience -- showing the criminals' humanity and blaming the racist police for the criminals' misdeeds.
Wait for it -- yup turned out she TOTALLY FABRICATED MOST OF THE BOOK solely in order to increase her street cred amongst white academia.
But it gets better. Even though her book was factually debunked, LEFTIST ACADEMIA DIDN'T CARE THAT IT WAS DEBUNKED and lauded her to the skies and -- the point -- hired her as a professor.
Basically, she thought the she had blacked herself up enough and debased herself with gangsta culture enough that she would be essentially made an "honorary black person" -- she she has learned the hard way that THE ALLIGATOR WILL NOT EAT HER LAST. Instead, she is the first one eaten. Shock!

I know a lot about tractor logging and trees, native to my home area.
I know a lot about some old rifles.
I know quite a bit about the things of God, breast cancer and European and Mopar cars of the sixties.
That's about it.
I went to about two months of college and decided I wanted to spend my life outdoors instead of on a drafting stool.
Mrs Iggy regularly made fun of me because I liked to read the old Encyclopedia Britannica she owned.
As a kid I liked to read and mostly pretty weird stuff for a kid. My parents had the complete works of Shakespeare with footnotes, so I could tell what the heck the old wanker was saying, and I read most of those when I was in grade school along with the nice concise Funk and Wagnalls encyclopedia they had. They also had the Harvard Classics and I waded through The Odyssey early on and Two Years Before the Mast, Voyage of the Beagle, Don Quixote.
But my favorite reading was often the dictionary. I like words. At one point I started at A and was going to write down every cool word I came to. But by the time I made it to anthropophogite and was on my seventh or eighth page of cool words I realized I wasn't really slimming down the dictionary much and so just did the hunt and peck thing after that.
When I happen upon something that is interesting and I don't know much about I like to find out.But there are many people here and everywhere else who know vastly more than me.
Admittedly though there are very few who are as rakishly handsome and irresistible. :P
