The last time I was at the Derby was 1973 when Secretariat won. As a lowly college student, I was in the infield, and got to see his ears go by.

Momto2, I had a horse growing up that became blind in one eye. Great big 16 hand Irish hunter type. even with his handicap I still rode him in junior jumpers, 3 day event, equitation and hunter paces. he was also the best trail horse I ever rode.

General Jack Keane on FOX talking about the Nork's and the reports of them building off shore islands ala China:

Keane: ...It's not as significant as China's islands because China's Islands are near our Allies and quite removed from China itself, so they are militarizing those Islands to have influence obviously over the South China Sea, but even more to have influence over our Allies in the Philippines, and also Viet Nam. But this thing here, its almost contiguous to North Korea and its most likely, tho' I don't know for sure, but it's so close to their Ballistic Missile Testing Site that it's probably an extension of that is what they are doing here. Of course as you know they have accelerated this Ballistic Missile Program and that's whats got everybody's attention. The good news is a lot of those missiles, at least the recent ones, have failed, and I think with some accurate speculation on our part, we probably had something to do with that.

Hi Iggy. This is how we always "see" one another. LOL

More from Gen Keane:

Keane; ...We have a strategy to squeeze them, as Secretary Tillerson ws just talking about. It's Political, It's Diplomatic, and It's increasingly more Economic. We're putting sanctions on them, and the Chinese have cut off their import of their coal, which is going to hit them financially. We believe the Chinese are also shutting down their Oil, but because the Oil moves in a pipeline to North Korea, we have no physical evidence of that. We'll see the impact of it economically, and I think one of the things we have to understand with China, if China's doing everything they say they are doing, they could be gaming us a little bit...they are probably doing what they are saying, and China has to be careful. While they are going to hurt North Korea Economically, they don't want to force a collapse of the regime, because keeping the North Korean Regime is in China's National Interest...

Host: ...So how do you keep the regime, and Sec Tillerson has said "Regime change is not the official policy of the US." So how do you keep the regime and then maybe freeze the nuclear program, or prevent it or eliminate it, with this unbelievably militarized nation?

Kaine: Well that's what the objective is all about. Squeeze them Politically, and economically and diplomatically isolate them. China obviously has considerably more leverage than all the sanctions we can impose on them, and what the US objectives are, so our audience can understand, is it is not just to stop the Missile Testing. We truly want to de-nuclearize them. We want China to take those weapons out of North Korea. That's the end game...That's the objective...Here's why. Even tho there is no Ballistic Missile to deliver this thing, you can deliver a small Nuclear weapon using a shipping container, in an airplane, anyway...North Korea sells weapons to Iran and others as well. We know they will sell nuclear weapons...So that's the objective.

Bad link, clarice.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Clarice,

I maintain that he wanted to do all that stuff for Iran. The so-called deal was the mechanism (and the excuse) to do it.

I have long ago come to the conclusion that there will be no punishment for him, as it would open the door to prosecution of president Trump (or even President Bush) fo political reasons disguised as crimes.

What I do hope is everyone gets sick of him and his crowds dwindle to a few people. We haven't seen him on TV, have we? I wonder why that is, since one would normally think the networks would jump at the chance.

Maybe he is under some sort of restraining order. HA!

Go fish policy

This is only the Top Five illogicisms.

Replacing Obamacare with Trumpcare is one of the largest redistributions of wealth in history. Theoretically, conservative voters and their representatives should hate that.

2) The enormous amount of wealth being moved goes from the poor and middle class to the very wealthy, who in all likelihood, work a lot less hard than folks from the working class. Lazy poor people aren’t trying to muscle in on your hard earned money, Joe the Plumber. Lazy rich people are.

3) Conservatives don’t believe government has a role in providing health-care coverage for citizens. Trumpcare still has the structure of government stepping in to make sure everyone has health-care coverage. It’s just not called Obamacare so that makes it ok.

4) Trumpcare cuts the detested ‘freedom-destroying’ coverage mandate that required healthy people carry insurance and all people be charged a similar rate. This was how Obamacare kept premiums down. Now when Obamacare-haters get sick, they will not be able to afford the skyrocketing cost of their own coverage and will be forced to suffer or die. Wow. What freedom!

5) The problem is still the same: private insurance companies pocket millions of dollars in profit that could otherwise be used to care for the sick. They do nothing to keep the price of services and medication down as would, say, one enormous pool of people with a great deal of health issues isolated in a hopeless spiral of premium vs expenses

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Jane

Hey CC,

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Get rid of medical insurance? Good idea except for catastrophic.

Let everyone pay cash. This is how my parents managed to pay for the births of 5 children in a private hospital. (I have the bills to prove it, as my mom put them in a scrapbook. The bill for me in 1948 was $95.00 for a 10-day stay.)

Guarantee prices would come down.

Centralcal

Ha Henry. It is a "sipping" drink - slow and easy. I also cheat these days and do not pour it "up'," but rather "on the rocks." I have to monitor my alcohol intake fairly carefully, due to RA medication, so I have become a "pro" on how to drink them.

We had an "after tax season" party, serving wine (white and red) - 2 half filled glasses nearly knocked me on my butt! It is all what you are used to, I guess.

Just how did former usher Angela Reid make no secret of the fact that she was a die-hard Hillary supporter. I would have assumed it would have been difficult to assess the allegiances of such a consummate professional.

Great question, Davod. Johnny Carson spent 30 years on our nightly Televisions, yet nobody had clue 1 what his political leanings were, yet somehow Angela couldn't keep it secret to anyone showing up to meet the President that she was Hillary's biggest Cheerleader.

This is not behind the paywall.

I believe this is due to behind the scenes actions by the Trump Administration.

The guy I follow on Twitter, Thomas Wictor, has predicted this for a couple of months and he came to the conclusion by watching movements of officials in and out of Saudi Arabia and Israel, plus the movements of Saudi and allied troops.

I'm still trying to find the details on the "Going Away package" for the fired White House Usher, Angella Reid.

Here's a bit of the"Going Away package" Billy Dale got when he left the White House Travel Office:

In May 1993, Billy Dale, along with six other Travel Office staff members, was fired and locked out of his office. He was accused of embezzling $14,000 (logs accounting for the money were missing). The public was told that Dale and the staff were being fired for criminal misconduct. Hillary Clinton ordered the FBI to conduct a criminal investigation against Dale.

Dale’s legal bills for his defense were estimated to become in excess of $700,000. When Dale was told he could not proclaim his innocence, he considered a plea bargain for $69,000 and a short jail sentence. He decided not go against his morals and turned down the plea bargain. As a repercussion, Billy Dale was audited by the IRS for the next 30 months. His children were also subpoenaed by the IRS.

In 1995, Billy Dale’s case went to trial. Several key people in the press testified as character witnesses on behalf of Dale. The jury found Dale not guilt on all accounts. Kenneth Starr exonerated Bill Clinton of involvement. However, Hillary Clinton’s sworn testimony was found to be factually inaccurate. Hillary had made false statements to investigators. A memo by former Presidential aide David Watkins shows Hillary played the central role in the termination of Dale and other Travel Office staff: “Once this made it onto the First Lady’s agenda, Vince Foster became involved, and he and Harry Thomason regularly informed me of her attention to the travel office situation — as well as her insistence that the situation be resolved immediately by replacing the travel office staff… Foster regularly informed me that the First Lady was concerned and desired action — the action desired was the firing of the travel office staff. On Friday, when I was in Memphis, Foster told me that it was important that I speak directly with the First Lady that day.”

Although Hillary Clinton lied to investigators about her role in the firings, no charges were sought against her.
