Is there a GoFundMe page for daddy's prison term?

henry

Did Mueller give Comey immunity in that first meeting before the testimony?

Dave (in MA)

I haven't been able to figure out where we are currently on the +good guy | -bad guy Comey sine wave, so I don't know what to say.

Scoop Johnson

Speaking of crimes....

" It appears that whoever the perp was he opened a Credit Card..."

You can put a security freeze on your credit report with the three main credit bureaus. No business can access your credit report until you remove the freeze. So no one can open a new credit card or take out a loan until the freeze is lifted. Depending on your state the freeze removal (temporary or permanent) may be free or cost a small amount ($5-$10). I believe it is free to place the freeze initially.

Yes, it can be a small hassle if you need a business to access your credit (e.g. new cell phone provider, auto loan, mortgage), but for most, those are infrequent enough it is not a big hassle. The freezes and be placed and removed relatively quickly online (< 1 hour most times). The freeze can be temporarily lifted for a set time period (e.g. 1 week, 1 day) or for a specific business (e.g. Citibank). If you know which credit bureau the business will use, you only need to lift the freeze for that one bureau.

Dave (in MA)

Trump should rename the IRS the Tax Department. Those f*#^$ers are certainly not anyone's definition of a Service.

note from our Chitown lurker:

Ghaaa! Bad ID theft info from Scoop Johnson. Go to FTC.gov. Also CFPB.

"Fraud Alert", which is what they call them at credit reporting agencies, can be placed for free, for 6 months, at any one of the agencies and it will be honored by all 3. They will call if an application has been made in your name and SSN. You can reload it, for free, after expiration, for another 6 months.

Lifelock will do the exact same free "thing" you can do, for a "small monthly fee".

That's right up their with Comey saying Hillary had no intent, CH.

Threadkiller

And wanted to mention that the Book, Starship Troopers, was nothing remotely like that pathetic Movie at all.

This reminds me. SBW, who won the book suggestion competition?

:-)

narciso

Rakoff seems to be the luck of a bad draw.

Tk, you know about crankcase and camshaft sensor on 2008 pt cruisers.

Tell me more.

narciso

I inquired about my camshaft and crankcase sensor, on the other thread

Beasts of England

'Are you a good witch or a bad witch?' You're a funny guy, TM - well played.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I only have one question for OL.
Why in the heck would he want to spend a fortune to live among, stuck on an island no less, a bunch of miserable, useless, fruity, stuck-up, prog puss butts?

You are going to jail, Daddy.

And they don't serve no Dumb PerryOwn in the slammer daddy:)

There was a young perp in Nantucket
His knife in a victim he stuck it.
But the stories the same,
Society is to blame,
In Trump's Amerika how did we fail this sad unfortunate?

exdemocrat

Trump should rename the IRS the Tax Department. Those f*#^$ers are certainly not anyone's definition of a Service.

Hah! SO true!

Beasts of England

I'm sure Mrs. OL didn't have any say about a house on Nantucket, Ig...

daddy

I could ex, but I didn't think it would convey the proper amount of societal handwringing and White Privilege that I am sure this incident is going to call for before it's all finished:0

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Well then I have another question; just exactly who wears the pants in that family, Mrs or Mr OL?
Makes me wonder about the security of that Ledge thing if da misses decides she doesn't want a bunch of scurvy dogs hangin round.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

That's funny TK.

BTW my pal didn't have the proper gear so I guess I'll be sweating a bit longer.

Beasts of England

I let you take it from here on out, Ig. :)

daddy

Speaking of wives, don't you hate it when Momma hollers at you for the umpteenth time to not set your coffee mug down on the couch cushion next to you because you're going to spill it and you say "yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever", and then the instant she steps out of the room you spill your coffee all over the couch cushion next to you and now you're scrambling like hell to clean it up and trying to figure out how to keep her ignorant and blame it on the dogs if it comes down to that.

Might be a good time for a Library run! later.

Jane

I had a few cases in Nantucket District Court - probably 15-20 years ago. Anyway I had some interesting observations.

About that long ago Nantucket decided to build some low income housing - and invite low income families from other places in MA to apply for it.

Sometime after it was occupied, I was in court one morning. It's a small court so they do the arraignments before they get to the civil stuff. I noticed that everyone in court was black. I didn't recall ever seeing a black person in Nantucket court before.

So I asked the clerk if Nantucket had suddenly become racist or something else was going on.

According to the clerk that trend began and continued since the low income housing was built.

Buckeye

Iggy

When you jumpered the low pressure switch, did you try putting the R134a in warm water?

It will raise the pressure in the can and make it easier to add.

Marlene

Ha,now I know we're not in Kansas anymore Toto!

So,I woke up from a nap and took a look at the Bangor paper. Susan Collins says Donald Trump,Jr. should appear in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Really? Honest to God,can't these people get actual work done?

Old Lurker

Ig, basically they are the same people we have in Potomac and DC. But the weather is nicer up here.

I know, I know. I am a sucker for traditions, especially family traditions.

As to who wears the pants...you have forgotten I'm sure a story I told JOM long long time ago about my wedding. Since it was out of town, when we got back to DC my in laws threw a party for us at Ft. McNair so we could meet all their friends, mostly from their lives since West Point '36. Lots and lots of stars there, including the guy who was my FIL's boss during the war. Everybody here is familiar with the nature of the wives of the big shots on a base, so when I found myself at the bar with this long retired general, I asked him the secret to his 50 years with Alice.

He said "it is easy, OL. As the Base Commander, Alice always allowed me to make the big decisions and she was then able to make all the small decisions. Oh. She was the sole judge on which decisions are big and which are small."

Dave (in MA)

I like daddy's version of the THING THAT I HAD ALREADY POSTED better. A little.

Dave (in MA)

A concert venue I sometimes visit sent me a listing for https://democracythroughthelookingglass.com/synopsis/

Wow, such a balanced panel. Spanning the political spectrum from the far left all the way over to the slightly far left.

Dave (in MA)

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but Christie Kreme has been auditioning for being put in charge of falling asleep on the air while talking about the Yankees on the radio during the afternoon.

Beasts of England

lol, OL!!

lurkersusie

Who leaked the Donald Trump Jr meeting with
the Russian lawyer? Was it part of the unmasking
information that Nunes found?

Beasts of England

Just got back from the liquor and beer stores to replenish the damage from the weekend, and when I pulled in the beer store there was total babe of a little spinner pulling up in a white Mercedes with a custom tag of 'Abby RN'. Nice. I'm behind her in line (hoping for one of my buddies to come in and start talking about my boat, but I digress...) and she gets carded. For buying cigarettes. A nurse!! My kinda gal... :)

--peter

Sorry to be repeating myself as I posted from my phone and Typepad ate my post. However, I have a request for prayers from some of my JOM friends. My older son, the Boston College sophomore will be having surgery tomorrow for his scoliosis. I would appreciate it very much if some of you could send some prayers over toward Columbia Presbyterian hospital in northern Manhattan. Thanks so much.

cathyf
Why I save stuff as leftovers and then never use it is a mystery. I end up throwing the stuff away anyway, only it has grown mold in the interim.
DrF refers to the vegetable crisper as "the rotter". I tell him the whole fridge is the place we store leftovers until they are gross enough to be thrown away!
henry

Prayers en route Peter.

rse

peter-my middle child that I call red wore a scoliosis brace for 20 hours a day for years starting at age 8 and ultimately also had the surgery 6 years ago between her junior and sophomore years in high school.

I know lots about the subject and will be thinking of your son tomorrow. One thing I did that I would also recommend for you was to keep a legal pad in his room so that whomever gives him any medicine once he gets home writes down what, when, and how much.

It helps your family and the doctor see patterns and means that the spouses and siblings know what someone else has done. Red was thin but her big brother came home after the hospital and there is some lifting involved initially. Make sure you have someone available to help lift from the other side who will not end up hurting themselves.

You will also want him to take his xrays back to school with him. His surgery will likely give him some rights under ADA such as to dorms that are closer to campus as a reasonable accommodation.

red simply did not participate in the room draw each year and picked a room in a close in dorm. When the housing dean failed to get back to her after numerous requests I looked up the university's GC and sent her one of my nice letter's on reasonable accommodation. Copied the dean of students.

"The Times reported that the IRS is aware of 2.4 million people a year who file taxes using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. However, the IRS is not allowed to convey information to Homeland Security to assist DHS agents in identifying who and where those taxpayers are."

"The article noted that a whopping 87 percent of forms filed online using ITINs showed income credited to a Social Security number. And more than half of forms filed by paper also showed that same fraudulent behavior."

I had tried that before I jumped the switch but got the freon up to snuff with the switch jumped without the warm water, Buckeye.
Refrigerant isn't the problem since it's at 125psi now, not running.
Next step, gauges and a vacuum pump and an orifice tube.
Step after that probably a compressor.

OTOH the heat is almost over out here...only another three and a half months of it. :/

DrJ

Iggy,

only another three and a half months of it. :/

It still is a *lot* better than Phoenix! I made my peace with the weather there, but I never did like it much. Up here, at least it cools off at night.

Dr J...Samantha 🐝? I'd ask for a refund..why clutter your beautiful mind with a Kathy Griffin clone? Stay home and dance with your wife in the moonlight 😉

DrJ

Glenda,

It was a new performance added after we purchased our series. We can choose to purchase tickets or not. We won't, but I do find it interesting that these idiots appear on the speaking circuit after writing such piffle.

And of course the University denizens eat it up!

Didn't see the 125 static. I have a vacuum pump, but would probably cost more to ship it than just having someone pull it down and charge it locally.

Sucker weighs a ton.

Captain Hate

Speaking of academia:

http://minx.cc:1080/?post=370580

jimmyk

I do agree, DrJ, though I've been pretty lucky, plus my field tends to be less out there than the humanities or softer social sciences. In my first job a lot of my colleagues were Chicago-trained or Chicago-affinity. At my current institution my colleagues in the department are sane (of course I hired them), in most other departments they're pretty hard left, but the undergrads are actually less so. Early this year a student group invited Ben Shapiro out, and faculty complained and sent a whiny letter around lamenting that Shapiro was supposedly spoke disrespectfully about trannies (he said that gender dysphoria is a mental illness) and students applauded him.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Thanks Buckeye, but if I have to I can always find someone around here or bite my meager bullet and buy a set of gauges and pump for ~$130 at Amazon.

sbwaters

Do you have rotten vegetables to toss Dr J?

Check in the Crisper.

henry

In the maybe there are yoga pictures department, via Gateway through The_Donald, new batch of Hillary emails. 22,000 "private" emails dropped on the anniversary of Seth Rich's murder. No idea what, if anything, new is in there.

DrJ

jimmyk,

You've been luckier than I have been.

I've worked with academics in the hard sciences from around the country, and while they are not as "out there" as the humanities, no one would confuse them with being conservative. I run into one every now and again, but it is pretty rare.

My closest collaborator I usually describe politically as being left of Mao.

The non-tenure track administrators typically are pretty bad.

Buckeye

Iggy

Looks like a compressor is about $125-150.

TK probably knows which to avoid.
