http://cbs58.com/news/transgender-reveal-in-kindergarten-class-leaves-parents-feeling-betrayed

"My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy," another parent said.

Captain Hate

Roger Goodell is the absolutely worst person to deal with this, as last year's ratings declines illustrated.

JimNorCal

The person who fwd'ed that transgender article makes a thoughtful suggestion. "I wish they could invent a disease. One that only killed Democrats. And that killed them quickly."

henry

Time constraints TM. Do one at a time. Simple enough. You don't ban praying, you enforce standing for the anthem.

JimNorCal

From the prev thread, on college admissions: "Asian-Americans needed SAT scores that were about 140 points higher than white students".

They often frame it that way to make argument palatable to progressives. I've read, though, that whites get pretty much a straight shot. The slots taken away from Asians are essentially redirected to Black and Hispanic kids. It's not the case that Whites benefit from the discrimination.

Maybe I'm wrong though and would be happy to hear countervailing data.

The NFL is in the entertainment industry. The purpose of entertainment is to let us escape reality for a few hours, and forget about the issues that consume us the remainder of the day. The very last thing Joe Six Pack wants is to be preached at by twenty-somethings making five million per year.

I bought The Plant Paradox and am almost done.

I hesitate to ask you to rehash points you've covered before but if you wouldn't mind mentioning your key points I would be most grateful.

As maximums would say 'are you nit entertained' I don't know where John Logan got the notion that Marcus aurelius wanted to institute the republic?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I think this says something about me that is not all that flattering but I looked at Man Tran's lovely first eclipse picture and rather than thinking of a dazzling wedding ring my first thought looking at the black disc and the radiant white light on the edge was, diamonds on Uranus. :/

Catsmeat

Hi, Jack--a thread back you mentioned your great-grandfather's death of cholera in 1854--that wouldn't have been part of the Broad Street cholera epidemic that helped John Snow prove that infected water was the cause, to everyone's great benefit in later years?

Threadkiller

I'm glad RSBN has made an effort to live stream Trump events but I do not understand why it is so terrible so often.

Is there a live stream without hiccups?

maryrose

Dave:
Wow that one article is hopelessly pro McConnell but seems exaggerated to me.
McConnell blew the Healthcare repeal.
He got chewed out by his boss.
Doesn't this happen everyday in business?

Tom Maguire
You don't ban praying, you enforce standing for the anthem.

And fine the noncompliant? Still a bad look for the league, and keeps the controversy on the front page.

Janet the expert 🚬

Different livestream choices here - https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/08/22/president-trump-maga-rally-phoenix-arizona-900pm-edt-livestream/

glasater

I'm still reeling from learning on Tucker ESPN is banning an oriental announcer because his name is Robert Lee.

Beasts of England

'And fine the noncompliant?'

Whatever you do will find its way into the media. It would be better - per my previous comment - to remind the young lads that they are blessed beyond comprehension, and that their job entails a certain amount of conformity for the sake of the product. Spend their free time burning flags if they need to, but focus on pleasing the majority of their customers when they're at work.

Threadkiller

That is where I was, Janet. RSBN cuts out, the second choice says it was pulled, and the last choice, FOX10, isn't in real time.

I will probably wait for the replay.

henry

Tam, then ban your broadcast licensees from showing the noncompliance. They want exposure. Don't give them any.

Porchlight

Is there a live stream without hiccups?

Probably. But IMO RSBN put Trump over the top in November with constant rally coverage, so I don't care.

I love their coverage - I follow along on The_Donald just as in campaign days of yore. Great memories and high energy. Lots of interviews with real people. Better than any clinical high tech feed by far.

Beasts of England

Per the Horde: Lobert E. Ree.

I denounce them...

Threadkiller

so I don't care.

I do.

That is why I asked.

glasater

Heh, Beasts.

 narciso.

Yes maryeose like a politic piece which says if trump challenges flake its crossing the streams, Shirley.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

TK,

You might try reloading the feed. That sometimes works for me.

I stick with them unless they get overwhelmed by cell phones messing up their connection and they completely cut out. I am like Porch, am loyal because they stepped up when the networks were ignoring the rallies. They are just some regular guys from Alabama who do the best they can for the President.

maryrose

How about if you tell your players:
Hey if you don't place hand on heart and sing the anthem you don't play and if you miss 2 games you are off the squad.

mad jack

so since i was talking to myself on the last thread i thought I'd mention that i thought the senate intelligence committee was more likely to send mr simpson home with a cookie than to get any real info from him. your republican congress in action.

Threadkiller

I am like you, MM, and Porch. I am the longest running Trump supporter at JOM and I am very faithful to RSBN.

IT ISN'T WORKING FOR ME AT THE MOMENT.

I appreciate the suggestion to reload. That hasn't worked. I was hoping for an alternative that didn't equate to blasphemy.

maryrose

Mad Jack:
All Simpson has to give them are names of the people involved in this criminal behavior.
If Hillary's name surfaces, oh well.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Trey Gowdy got snippy with Mick Mulvaney today on Twitter.

Masks dropping everywhere!

Boatbuilder on iphone

Let them kneel. Let their agents tell them what effect that will have on endorsement deals. Problem solved.

Boatbuilder on iphone

Hey jack, how's it goin'?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

TK,

There are alternatives on Conservative Treehouse. I think Sundance chooses pretty good live feeds that aren't too liberal.

mad jack

Do you really think that will happen Maryrose? I'm guessing the only name he gives them, if any, is Jeb Bush. It then becomes a solely Republican scandal. That how the party of stupid works.

henry

Per CNBC, the Admiral of the 7th Fleet will be relieved over the collisions.

Threadkiller

They have problems, MM.

Thanks again.

I will skip the live blogging tonight and head back to JOM after I watch a replay.

mad jack

it's going good boat. just got back from OL's island. lots of pretty women on that island. couldnt afford any of them :-)

Beasts of England

Slightly off topic, but my brother finished mixing my nephew's third album yesterday - which was recorded at my brother's studio - and they gave me an advance copy of it today to 'review'. Not only is the songwriting mature and delightful, the resulting sonic quality from the new mixboard and a few additional Neumann mics is stunning. I'm in awe of his many talents, and just thrilled to be related to the young man.

The formal release is in November, but he may post it to iTunes before then, so I'll keep you updated. His first two albums are now free on Spotify, so you can hear those there. Just search by my last name - he's the only artist so named.

cboldt

For those who have teevee, C-SPAN is carrying the rally. No interruptions. Ben Carson speaking now.

Barbara

"Per CNBC, the Admiral of the 7th Fleet will be relieved over the collisions."

Thank you, cboldt. I was getting sick of watching Fox Business News trying to ramp up the protesters.

What a world, what a world ! Hark--the king of the North approaches---

I spent the last 4 days in Charlottesville, of all places. A very small town; (especially before school starts); very nice people. Nobody but the SJW's seemed to want to talk about the events of the previous weekend. Stores and restaurants all had purple signs saying "Heather" and most had small signs stating their commitment to "diversity", but we pretty much stumbled upon a makeshift memorial at the site of the car crash incident, which is right in the middle of a pedestrian mall (where for some idiotic reason they allow cars to cross through-i almost drove into a pedestrian myself without realizing it was a pedestrian area as well); nobody was openly agitating or protesting. The general feeling I got was a sort of embarrassment that the unpleasantness happened there, along with the sort of genuine effort to show good will that echoed what things were like for a while after 9/11 (OK I may be reading too much into it but that was my impression).
Two things that struck me- the college campus area where I believe the primary demonstrations were and the downtown/pedestrian mall area where the car ran into the protesters are a long way apart-well over a mile; and there aren't a whole lot of neo- or any other kind of Nazis in the greater Charlottesville area in ordinary circumstances.

sbw

MR: He got chewed out by his boss

Sorry, maryrose. That is not an accurate characterization of the relationship of the Legislative and Executive branches.

cboldt

Having been to a couple of these, I can tell you the crowd loves the president. Lots of energy in the room. Trump "thumbs up" at "God Bless the USA"

"Wow - what a crowd" "Trump Trump Trump Trump" comes the reply.

Porchlight

Trump!

Glad you're hanging with us, TK. :)

cboldt

Unity and agenda speech.

maryrose

President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party.
McConnell needs to focus on the agenda set by him and the other members of Congress need to honor the wishes of the voters.
Ryan got his bill passed.
McConnell blew it.
Now he has to figure out a way to get a decent Healthcare plan for the American people.
He didn't know how to corral the Republicans.
If this continues than perhaps another Majotity leader needs to be chosen.

cboldt

Black guy behind Trump has a tee shirt with "TRUMP & Republicans are Not Racist."

Describes what is going on as a movement. "The obstructionists are asking 'How do we get them to vote for us?'"

 narciso.

btw it looks like that bogus early conviction of a bundy defendant 56 yrs! Has been followed by four aquittals

cboldt

maryrose - the press is having a field day with reports that McConnell and Trump are not on speaking terms. I wonder how confident McConnell is feeling, with that powerhouse of a senate behind him.

Ralph L

Maryrose, when my s-i-l's older brother drowned in a similar accident in 69, someone called his mother and told her he got what he deserved.
Heard that 20 years ago and it still burns me up. She's 95 next month.

Ralph L

What's a bundy defendant?

maryrose

McConnell can be somewhat of a drama queen.
I bet this is the first time someone has challenged him to produce results.
He got Gorsuch through but that doesn't mean he can sit on his laurels.

cboldt

He is reaming the press for ginning up "Trump is a racist" He is going to read, and "I'm going to show you just how damned dishonest these people are."

Manuel Transmission

OK, the panorama of the eclipse I promised is LUN. It's a 10M file, but worth the effort.

very lovely, MT

Manuel - nice panorama. The link is a pretty small file though (I'm not complaining) at about 47K. Postimg must resize it.

Frau Steingehirn

Many people waiting to go in for the Phoenix event stood in 100+ degrees all day.

Smaller crowd of protesters outside? Can't stand the heat? The masked Soros thugs can roast in their black clothes and masks. A pox on them and their paymaster.

A reporter remarked about the relative peaceful protesters. Are they afraid *their* real violence will leak out?

cboldt

Trump is taunting the counterprotesters, not very many of them, names antifa ... back to the sequence of condemnation against those who perpetrate violence, in light of Charlottesville.

 narciso.

I had read four:

DrJ

Phoenix ... 100+ degrees all day.

That's a normal summer day in Phoenix. This time of the year the lows at night are over 90 degrees.

I made my peace with the Phoenix weather when I lived there, but I never liked it much.

MessNBC has Lawrence ODonnell pontificating and has No sound on the rally where President Trump is speaking.
This is so disrespectful after listening ad nauseum to Odummy for 8 years.
President Trump says reporters are dishonest bad people giving a platform to haters.

cboldt

The only people giving a platform to the hate groups is the media and fake news.

Dave (in MA)

Foxnews kept shutting off but CSPAN is working OK for me.

cboldt

Says the media is the source of division. Rather get ratings and clicks than tell the truth.

Bundy case defendant Burleson 68 years for:
"A jury convicted in April of eight counts, including assault, threats, extortion, obstruction of justice, and multiple gun charges."
He'd have gotten less if he'd raped and killed.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Whatever Trump's faults, it is truly sad the nevertrump chumps cannot just sit back and bask in his unremitting shredding of the vile media.
How can they not revel in someone finally just kickin em in the teeth?

Frau Steingehirn

Oh, oh ---Sheriff Joe!!

DrJ - my first SF World Con was in Phoenix on Labor Day weekend. It was 119 during the day in the time of Star Wars and Logan's Run fans who dressed in polyester.

 narciso.

I stains corrected he is 56. Its a travismickasham

maryrose

Bringing up Sheriff Joe.
Hope the pardon comes He says Sheriff Joe will be ok and he will not do it tonight.

Threadkiller

Glad you're hanging with us, TK. :)

Me too!!

Sheriff Joe can sleep well!!

maryrose

Iggy:
Yes, in their prideful ways they are missing all the fun.

cboldt

Sheriff Joe has an appeal - not sure it is pending, but the case hasn't been "finally" concluded yet. It is premature to issue a pardon.

Threadkiller

It isn't premature to issue a promise of pardon.

DrJ

Labor Day weekend [-- i]t was 119 during the day

That's a bit unusual, as that time of year more commonly it is 105 to 110.

I remember when I arrived in the Phoenix area there were news reports that people in Houston were dying because it was over 95 degrees. That day it was 122 in Phoenix.

Yes, the humidity is worse in Houston...

Frau Steingehirn

RalphL - Dan White used the "Twinky" defense and got only seven years for two murders.

Texas Liberty Gal

Trump made it pretty clear that Sheriff Joe will be pardoned if his appeal is unsuccessful.

cboldt

LOL - I won't name names. One vote away, one vote away. "And your other Senator is weak on borders ..."

Porchlight

Uh oh...McCain lol

Threadkiller

Holy cow! This is great!

maryrose

MessNBC still has no sound for the rally.
It looks ridiculous!

I'll sleep well too, TK. :)
