I suppose that since I am a Yankee loyalist a brief explanation is in order. The last few baseball regular seasons have not ended with my guys in the payoffs so I made it a habit to jump on the bandwagon of some other American League team. This ploy carried the Royals to victory over the Mets in 2015 but only after their near-miss in 2014. Last year's adoptees were the Indians, mainly because a fellow Yankee fan is originally from Cleveland and he, too, needed a team to get behind.

Our combined power got Cleveland into extra innings in Game 7 last year, so this year? Sky's the limit! Unless the Yankees emerge from the wild-card to face them, in which case Cleveland will need to get it done without me. Which, I fear, they will, because they are that good, if not better. in which case I will resume rooting for them.

SINCE YOU ASK: The Yankees are putting a beating on the Orioles, currently leading 9-1. Judge has two homers, but he began thundering away after the Yanks were up 6-1 and the pressure was less. Still, if he heats up again like this spring, stand back.

Update on Will-- he's in his room now!

Will got up to his room around 5:30 tonight. Little more awake then we thought he might be....

Dr. Turek (our heart surgeon) couldn't believe how awake he was for everything that has happened today.

Being awake like this does show us that hopefully his brain wasn't affected by things that occurred today, but also doesn't help with him being so upset.

They can't sedate him too much because it is dropping his pressures. Hopefully they can just get him comfortable and we can all get some sleep.

All-in-all it was a good day. First day in 8 months we can say we are actually one day closer to home. First day since April Will isn't being kept alive by a mechanical heart. First day he can ask when he can go home and we can say hopefully soon. (Maybe hopefully by his birthday in November..)

Before we get there let's just get through the next couple days. His chest is still open and will need to be closed. His VAD site needs to heal along with everything else. His kidneys hopefully start to kick in and hopefully he can start breathing on his own.

I'm getting really depressed because nobody seems to think that the most important issue with DACA is that Congress didn't pass it. In fact, Congress explicitly voted it down. Whether or not the US gives the "dreamers" amnesty is not the point-- the point is that "the US gives..." always means Congress proposes, debates, and passes, and then the president signs. (Or if he vetoes, Congress overrides the veto.) When an executive MAKES the laws, not executing only laws made by the legislature and interpreted by the judiciary, then the executive is not a president, but rather an emperor. You see it in the bizzarre awkward language "Trump is repealing DACA." No, Trump can't repeal DACA because only laws can be repealed, and only lawmakers can make laws, and only lawmakers can repeal laws.

THAT is what Trump needs to be tweeting about. That Congress will pass a law, and he might veto it depending upon what it says, but if he signs it-- or if Congress overrides his veto-- then he will faithfully execute the law made by the lawmakers.

Because he is President Trump. His predecessor was Emperor Obama.
