On Thursday, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, called for the resignations of CEO Richard Smith and Equifax's entire board of directors unless the company offers consumers more comprehensive identity-theft protection for the next decade. So far, Equifax is merely offering free credit monitoring for a year. It's also temporarily waiving fees for people who freeze their credit records to prevent identity thieves from defrauding them.
Plus a verdict on a "hands up" shooting in St Louis this morning: not guilty. #BLM will test the former SEAL Gov of MO. (Bad idea, but #BLM gotta #BLM).
CFPB absolutely has to go. There can be no decent economic recovery with that pile of shit in place. Plus I'm pretty sure it's unconstitutional although our black robed tyrants are as mum on that as Zippy's DACA EO. Why do you think that is yet they start drooling like Pavlov's retarded dog when DJT does something?
On Shapiro , recall that he was on Michelle Fields side in the Lewandowski scuffle while he was separating from Breitbart to launch the Daily Wire. His former colleague Joel B. Pollak who is still at Breitbart lost to Schakowsky who is married to Creamer of Project Veritas fame. How Skokie still votes for that hag is beyond comprehension , But both Pollak and Shapiro are arrogant sobs.
Captain:
If you recall Ibama illegally placed some people on that CFPB bureau during what he thought was a congressional recess when the Senate was in pro format session.
He subsequently had to remove them and put approved people on it per court order and a vote by the Senate.
Agreed it has to go.
The leader is thinking of running for governor of Ohio.
Agree.
Also, I'm already beginning to look fwd to the 2nd Trump term, where he'll have more flexibility after the election. I'd like to see a couple of Departments shut down and funding withdrawn from various groups like PBS, NEA and other leftie groups.
Yes, maryrose, I don't think the state could survive a shyster like Cordray after the mailman's son turned us into Welfare Central with his daft Medicaid expansion
Not a fan of McMaster since Gorka resigned because of editing of violent islamic violent extremism from presidential rhetoric. McMaster has somewhat muzzled Trump in voicing this in statements like today's London bombing. However prefer going after Norks rather than Iran since do not want anti semites from claiming that Trump is Israel's poodle as evidenced by Kushner's friendship with Netanyahu.
I like Ben Shapiro. The one thing to remember about him is his #1 issue is Israel. That puts a lot of what he says in perspective. He's a very smart guy.
Oh and I also defended Michelle Fields - you sure that is the right basis for all that hate? If so, Klavin's got your number.
I wonder how much of the removal of that term comes from trying to help the Saudis, who are also working anti-terror.(Note new anti-terror center in Saudi Arabia and their efforts with Qatar).
Sometimes explanations are found in other areas than the simple "globalist, pro-Islam" thing that is ascribed to him.
Here's another thing: if it was edited out, do you not think President Trump would have asked "WHY?" And if he didn't agree, couldn't he put it right back in?
After September 11, a lot of people forgot that the Saudis were also the target of Osama bin Laden. He was upset that the Saudis had allowed "infidels" to stage in preparation for going into Kuwait. Bin Laden used this as a pretext for pushing for overthrowing the Saudi royal family.
I am well aware that the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis, but it seems to me they were of the group which believed what bin Laden said about keeping the Saudi kingdom "pure" and all that BS.
It seems to me that we should consider that there are ramifications to every single thing a president says, and sometimes we do not know the reason.
Yes, he was. All of those people in that video were surprised that Trump won, and they all have set about tying to prove that they were right and we should have listened to them.

I would also like to know if certain GOP candidates received money from the Clintons in order to target Trump. That bit of information got dropped by Wikileaks a week or two ago but they offered no proof.
Yes, so one has to be careful. They have some sort of peripheral relationship to Daily Caller, because occasionally they reprint Daily Caller articles with attribution under their headline.
The one thing that caught my eye in that is that they have been taking to people in the FBI. Whether true or not, I don't know.
MM, I disagree somewhat on Saudi Arabia, and am not as willing to give them credit as you are.
Yeah, they are now having to defend themselves against the radical Islamists.
But more than any others, they created this monster by exporting their brand of extremist and violent Wahhabism around the world and creating countless madrassas where young Muslim boys are radicalized.
They are fair weather friends, at best .... and at worst, they are enemies intent on spreading jihad.
I don't trust the bastards at all, nor do I think we can rely on them.
As Erdogan said, there's no such thing as "moderate" Islam.
Am a bit late in my reply. Just got home Got a note that McMaster went off on jihadists at press briefing, but I didn't see it so will have to look for the replay before it comes up.
What I am seeing now with him and Haley seems very impressive.
Wahabbism, and 11 9/11 hijackers, Saudi is not our friend. Bin Laden was thrown out of Saudi as a threat.
What would make anyone even think that Saudi Arabia is a true ally?
So Trump the person sets Ben Shapiro off. I get it, but like Jane, I see Shapiro differently. I see *small government* as his number one focus. I listened to him on the radio occasionally and found him measured and informed, not full of himself. So, I cannot join in a group snark.
As far as having a blind spot--or button that can be pushed--I have mine ("dual or multiple" citizenship). If Shapiro came out in favor of it, I would not stop listening to him for his other views and recommendations. Isn't it just like Republicans to eat their own? Isn't that what Klavan was addressing?
The major problem with the Saudis, as I see it, is that they are the "Defenders of the Faith" of Islam, the "Keepers" of their holy sites of Mecca and Medina.
Islam, because it's not just a religion but a complete system that seeks to control all facets of society, and because of their Koranic mandate to spread jihad and the submission of all to Islam and Allah - Praise Be Unto Him - is totally and completely incompatible with the West and America.
There can never be "co-existence" - for long - with such a system, if we are to keep our freedom and retain our civil liberties.
We will probably first see a violent conflict between Shia Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia. Sure, in this conflict we hope to see the Saudis win.
But the bloodier and more violent conflict between the West and Islam will come, and there can only be ONE victor.
It truly will be US vs THEM.
The question is will Europe be on our side, or will their multi-culti Socialist Lite societies have already been demographically consumed by the Muslims already in their midst?
(NEWSER) – President Trump treated his own attorney general as harshly as any failed Apprentice contestant in a heated Oval Office meeting earlier this year, White House insiders say. The New York Times, citing multiple anonymous sources, reports that Trump, angered by the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to lead the Russia investigation, called Sessions an "idiot" and told him he should resign. During the May 17 meeting, Trump blamed Sessions for Mueller's appointment and accused him of disloyalty because he had recused himself from the investigation, the insiders say.
Elmer Fudd or J. Edgar Hoover redux? Well? Which end of the JOM Trumpean Bell Curve™ do you dwell?
My hot button gets pushed when, after winning an election against enormous odds, the President is subjected to snark and unreasonable predictions about his actions (mostly unfounded), not to mention baseless assignments of sinister motives to President Trump, by people who claim to be conservative.
It was on full display yesterday on Twitter and various blogs and talk radio.
I didn't give much thought to Shapiro until he started down his current path. Shapiro himself is an example of "conservatives eating their own" . However, when that group (seen on the video posted yesterday) set themselves against a sitting President whom I support, I think I am justified in a little snark, myself.
Some people may be conservatives but they aren't nice people.
I am probably too sensitive about this, so understand that maybe you think I am being hypercritical. I will say, however, calling the President "our Orange overlord" is not exactly something to make me think Klavan is a supporter. Shapiro isn't so blatant.
Lyle:
Yet Sessions remains.
He wouldn't be there if President Trump didn't want him to be.
In a true Apprentice episode he would have been gone like yesterday.
I noted eArlier that al owdah one of the sahwa teachers that inspired ubl and yet ended up in the detainee rehabilitation program had need detained this weekend.
Otoh then prince salman had been in charge of the saudi high commission on Bosnia that supported the hijackers and he was tied to some other players,of the support network.
Maybe he learned something from the exercise.
It is not that conservatives aren't nice people.
Some are just misguided.
They don't understand what happened on November 8th .
After President Trump continues to overturn all of Obama's E O 's and gets Healthcare and Reduces taxes they will have lost their reason to mock him.
A grudging respect will replace the antipathy they feel right now and hopefully they will get on the Trump train in 2020.
The Sauds pursued this brand of Wahhabism after the seizure of the Grand Mosque which most probably in response to Khomeini returning to IRAn and since then the Shia and sunni were trying to out fundamental themselves and the Sauds most probably paid significant tribute to the Muslim Brotherhood. Now faced with the peril of their own survival they will do what ever Trump tells them to. Changed circumstances.
In 1913, Woodrow Wilson was the newly elected president. Wilson and his fellow progressives scorned the Constitution and the Declaration. They moved swiftly to replace the Founders’ republic with a new regime.
There is widespread agreement that Wilson did not always show good judgment – for example, in his blunders in international relations – but in the project of overturning the Founding, he and the movement he led selected their targets shrewdly. By the time he left office, the American republic was, as they say, history. The fundamentals of the new regime were in place, and the expansion of government under FDR, LBJ, and Obama was made easy, perhaps even inevitable.
Nineteen-thirteen gave us the 16th and 17th Amendments to the Constitution. That year also saw the creation of the Federal Reserve. This burst of changes marks the effective beginning of the Progressive Era in American politics, the era in which we now live. Wilson was to do much more that would once have been considered out of bounds, but these three changes were enough to change everything. In 1913, the fundamental agreement the Founders made with the American people about the relation of the states and the federal government was broken.
The last ten days have been characterized by a lot of wailing over things that haven't happened while under the radar progress has been made. The House has very orderly passed a number of spending bills which are probably as close as we're gonna get to having an actual budget and are certainly better than what we've recently had, so kudos to Ryan for that.
Lots of people, specifically JJ Sefton at AoS, have been howling like rabid hyenas over what DJT has or hasn't done on DACA and dealing with Nanzi and Schmucky. JJ, whom I like a great deal, imo gets overly influenced by Levin and has some of the more level headed members of the Horde bickering with him. Whether I'm one of them or not, I've chosen not to rattle his cage any more since accusing him of being the second coming of Michael Medved.
The President and First Lady have landed at Joint Base Andrew. He will speak shortly. (Fox says it's the 70th anniversary of the Air Force). They will also be viewing a preview of the air show.
Lyle, I posted that AT piece when it came out, adding my question about why the 19th Amendment was not grouped with 16 & 17 as (word deleted) things from that decade...
"This account is based on interviews with seven administration officials and others familiar with the interactions between Mr. Trump and Mr. Sessions in recent months who requested anonymity because they are not permitted to speak publicly about confidential conversations between the president and his aides."
Emperor Barack the Incompetent sent out *his* administration officials repeatedly to lie and spread distrust among the subjects in his new, under construction kingdom.
I like Ben Shapiro. The one thing to remember about him is his #1 issue is Israel. That puts a lot of what he says in perspective. He's a very smart guy.
Oh and I also defended Michelle Fields - you sure that is the right basis for all that hate?
Jane,
On Ben Shapiro, the part that made me distrust him was his discussions with his good friend Dennis Prager on Dennis's show as to why Shapiro was a #NeverTrumer and why he thought it more important to the country to allow Hillary to be President than to have Trump as President. Dennis, who really likes Shapiro, gave him every opportunity to answer that simple question at length---Hillary or Trump? Shapiro stated that he considered Trump in a sense some sort of NAZI type. Ben's rationalization seemed to me and to Dennis totally illogical and based simply on animus to Trump, not based in reality, and the elaborate constructed arguments he had to go through to somehow justify his opinion seemed like Rube Goldberg on steroids. They were disingenuous and I didn't buy them at all, especially because Ben is too smart to know that what he was saying was logical or true. He struck me as dishonest. Then when the Cory Lewendowski/Michele Fields thing came about, it struck me as a continuation of Ben's disingenuousness, and as an unwarranted emotional pile on to tar Trump again as some sort of NAZI thug, intentionally spouted to damage Trump and drive him from the field.
So those are the reasons I don't trust Ben Shapiro. I do admire him for taking Piers Morgan apart in a CNN segment, and so angering Morgan that Morgan revealed himself by sneeringly dismissing our Constitution as "that little book" or something sarcastically close to that. I also give Ben Shapiro praise for his personal courage in standing up to Anti-Semitism at a UCLA Lefty forum, and I praise him for doing Berkeley last night.
So he is a warrior I welcome when he does good for the good side but I do not trust him and sadly I cannot respect his intellectual integrity. I view him like Jonah Goldberg, but at least unlike Jonah, when not trashing Trump Ben goes out there and publicly fights the Left which is positive, whereas Jonah sits on the couch wallowing in #NeverTrump-land and while slinging nasty columns to negative benefit.
Maryrose?? {{It is not that conservatives aren't nice people.
Some are just misguided.
They don't understand what happened on November 8th .}} I am a CONSERVATIVE and NOT a REPUBLICAN. Never have been. I am a strong backer of our President. I consider YOU to be a Conservative, along with many many JOMer's who are WONDERFUL PEOPLE....NICE PEOPLE.
It isn't the CONSERVATIVES who are the problem, it's the squishy pussies like McConnell and Ryan, along with the SELF APPOINTED, SELF ANOINTED chumps, a.k.a. NEVER TRUMPERS like Kristol.
I've always seen NEVER TRUMPERS as ex-husband/boyfriends who kill their EX, because they can't have what they want. Then they kill themselves.
CH - I've been wondering how much bondo was wasted on Curb Dive's face for the recent events. She looks like Lurch after one of his surgical treatments. It's even more unsettling than the pictures where she looks her age (plus 20).
Whatever Shapiro and Klavan get or what anyone gets about them doesn't matter because the one thing they need to get they don't.
Their damned theories are useless without action to implement them. Trump, vastly more than any president since Reagan is trying to implement far more of what pecksniffian conservatives claim they want to happen. And yet with this historic opportunity for actual action to begin to reverse some of the glacier of crap that has rolled over us the last hundred years, they want to keep on talking clean toga theory and snickering at Trump, looking for every sapling they can use to justify opposing him and denigrating those who seek to help him while ignoring the forest of opportunity sitting right before their blinkered, childish, giggling eyes.
They're useless demagogues holding back and opposing someone who is trying to do 90% of what they claim they want to happen.
A pox on em.
daddy - funny you should mention Jonah and a couch. That's how he started his writing career. He wrote about his conversations with his couch. It was funny back then when he was talented Lucianne's funny son.
OL:
Attention:
12 bills for congressional budget passed yesterday as CH has stated.
To me that looks like Ryan doing his job.
Gus:
Ryan is not the p word.
McConnell- maybe.
I like Trump a lot, but calling him a conservative is a pretty big stretch. My hope is that he is a swamp drainer, which is my biggest priority these dats.
Maryrose "12 bills for congressional budget passed yesterday"
12 budget bills cleared the House and were sent over to the Senate. They need to clear the Senate, clear the Conference Committee, and be agreeable to the President withing the next 15 days before one can brag about doing the work.
Pro-life
Pro-national security
Pro-military
Anti-terror
Pro tax cuts
Anti-government waste
It's conservative enough for me. He has a flamboyant personality which isn't what we are used to in government, and he is a lot more welcoming to the LBGT community that many social conservatives. He will spend money if he thinks that there is a cost-benefit to do it, which isn't as conservative as many fiscal conservatives would like.
However, he DOES things, which is pretty important to me.
meanwhile, equifarce knew about the security hole and had a fix in hand in March. But never put the patch on so we all got hosed in May.

As Erdogan said, there's no such thing as "moderate" Islam.

fdcol63,
Am a bit late in my reply.

I agree completely. Right now they are terrified by Iran, so they like us a lot.
I was just looking over my notes from the trip. One of my favorite quotes from Mukasey - said with a completely straight face and sober tone:
"Islamists and the left share a hate for this country".

Posted by: lyle | September 15, 2017 at 02:07 PM

Frau,
My hot button gets pushed when, after winning an election against enormous odds, the President is subjected to snark and unreasonable predictions about his actions (mostly unfounded), not to mention baseless assignments of sinister motives to President Trump, by people who claim to be conservative.

Some are just misguided.
They don't understand what happened on November 8th .
After President Trump continues to overturn all of Obama's E O 's and gets Healthcare and Reduces taxes they will have lost their reason to mock him.

12 budget bills cleared the House and were sent over to the Senate. They need to clear the Senate, clear the Conference Committee, and be agreeable to the President withing the next 15 days before one can brag about doing the work.
