Matt Labash, writing in the Weekly Standard, spends time with a right-wing provocateur and meets the antifa.
Berkeley
As white supremacists go, Joey Gibson makes for a lousy one. For starters, he’s half Japanese. “I don’t feel like I’m Caucasian at all,” he says. Not to be a stickler for the rules, but this kind of talk could get you sent to Master Race remedial school.
And it gets worse. The founder of Patriot Prayer—a Vancouver, Wash.-based operation that sponsors rallies and marches promoting freedom and First Amendment rights along with all-purpose unity—also spews hippie-dippie rhetoric like “moderates have to come together” and “love and peace [are] the only way to heal this country.” Joey tends to sound less like an alt-right bully boy than a conflict-resolution facilitator or a Unitarian Sunday school teacher.
I should say we are not the target audience for Joey Gibson:
When Joey draws antifa out to show themselves, it’s not really conservatives he’s trying to reach. Conservatives already loathe antifa, he says. Rather, Joey’s interested in appealing to good, honest middle-of-the-road liberals. He likes them and believes there are plenty of them still out there. They’re just not terribly vocal at the moment when it comes to suppressing their own extremists, who seem hellbent on suppressing everyone else. As with some of the rancid elements of the right, when the moderates are quiet, extremist voices become amplified. “I’m also trying to help conservatives understand that they have a warped perception of liberals, because the good liberals are keeping quiet.” Joey says. “You go on YouTube and see thousands of videos of social justice warriors acting like crazy Batman because that’s what gets the views. You’re not going to see a video of a normal liberal making sense, you know?”
Good luck to him. And the tide may be running his way, now that earnest progressives like Pelosi feel obliged to denounce the antifa. I assume her new posture is a response to sincerely non-violent left-wing protestors are fed up with having their rallies hijacked by antifa thugs, rather than right-wing denunciations, but whatever it takes.
TM! How does one keep up?

When my wife was receiving chemo treatments for breast cancer, it wiped her out. She complained about not being able to think straight for long periods after that. Granted that was over twenty years ago and I'm sure that treatments have been improved to lessen the side effects. But for McCain to be receiving chemo for brain cancer, unless they're surreptitiously just giving him a placebo, compels me to believe that he would be out of it for a longer time than his statements indicate. Narciso, in an earlier thread I wrote Soros is connected to the Atlantic Council, IIRC.
Here's the link showing the Soros connection to the anti-Russia Atlantic Council, where Dmitri Alperovitch of Crowdstrike is a member (nonresident senior fellow with the Cyber Statecraft Initiative at the Atlantic Council's Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security).
Another member of the Atlantic Council is Sr Fellow Evelyn Farcas, who may be one of the 13 oeufs or connected to that deepstate group trying to oust Trump. MSNBC 3-28-17 clip where she brags about her role in urging her former colleagues and people on the Hill to "get as much intelligence as you can" on Trump.

Here Scott Ritter describes the origins of Crowdstrike.
Dumbstruck - How Crowdstrike Conned America on the Hack of the DNC
Aug 31, 2017
"Kurtz resigned from McAfee in October 2011, and within a month was brought on by Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm, as an Executive in Residence. Kurtz was slated to head up a new cyber security company, CrowdStrike, which Patrick Severson, a Managing Director at Warburg Pincus, was in the process of underwriting to the tune of $26 million in Series A funding.
Kurtz poached a number of senior executives from McAfee to join him at this new startup company, which he named CrowdStrike. But the jewel in CrowdStrike’s crown was the man around whom the company’s operating ethos would be constructed - Dmitri Alperovich. Alperovich left McAfee in mid-September, and by the end of that month was presenting his vision for cyber security at an event sponsored by Brookings. Alperovitch helped co-found CrowdStrike with Kurtz and another McAfee alumnus, Gregg Marston. While Kurtz, Marston and Severson’s names populated the SEC filings submitted by CrowdStrike in December 2011 in regard to its funding efforts, it was Alperovitch’s cache that made it all possible."
(The rest of the article demolishes Alperovitch's "cache" - Crowdstrike investors should take note.)
Posted by: BR | September 03, 2017 at 05:55 AM
Warburg Pincus, LLC, the company which started Crowdstrike in 2011 (as did Paul Walburg the Federal Reserve System in 1913), and a history of the Warburgs.
"Crowdstrike" - such an arrogant name.
Sounds like Antifa and ISIS.
Who the hell were they thinking of striking.

Toxic Femininity Hides Jealousy and Corruption
Clarice as usual covers a lot of ground here but she did not include the recent revelation from the WaPo's Religion expert Sally Quinn, that Quinn regularly goes to seances so that she can chat with her dead husband Ben Bradlee via a medium. That got me thinking---If the WaPo and Sally Quinn are such great fans and promoters of feminism, how come Sally needs to constantly dredge up a dead guy from Hell to chat?

Posted by: daddy | September 03, 2017 at 05:58 AM
Loved this logic by Scalia in Clarice's 11:36 PM link, of Scalia's thinking in regards to Arizona's (and by extension Joe Arpaio's) efforts in trying to control their borders:
Scalia: "Arizona has moved to protect its sovereignty—not in contradiction of federal law, but in complete compliance with it. The laws under challenge here do not extend or revise federal immigration restrictions, but merely enforce those restrictions more effectively. If securing its territory in this fashion is not within the power of Arizona, we should cease referring to it as a sovereign State."
(Emphasis added)
Scalia concluded with a question:
"Are the sovereign States at the mercy of the Federal Executive’s refusal to enforce the Nation’s immigration laws? A good way of answering that question is to ask: Would the States conceivably have entered into the Union if the Constitution itself contained the Court’s holding?"
Brilliant.

BR - I agree Crowdstrike is part of it, and maybe an essential part (as an expert is usually an essential part of litigation). My point was that I don't view Crowdstrike as driving, initiating or controlling the coup attempt. The more powerful government players are the likes of Comey, Brennan and Clapper, along with their inner circles; and the elected players in the NWO class, which is the vast majority of Congress and the press.

The problem with liberal ideology is the same one as the problem with islam; a moderate in either camp is simply a detuned version of an authentic one. There is a straight, intersectionless freeway from a moderate liberal to a Marcusian Marxist. The social liberal's (as opposed to the classic liberal) holy Koran, has been and remains at its heart Das Kapital.
Bleeds there a moderate heart that does not believe and seek to compel all of us to live in a society based on "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs"?
As cboldt noted awhile back James Burnham perfectly described the unbroken and inevitable road down which the Western "liberal" will always eventually wander which ends up in one of Marx's smoking ruins.

Chemo brain is a very common side effect and to my knowledge there is nothing they can do about it nor are chemo options notably different than they were 20 years ago for the vast majority of patients.
One problem with brain cancer is most chemos do not cross the blood brain barrier so they have to be introduced directly into the cerebro-spinal fluid.
Not sure how McCain would be galivanting around the world while doing that. Perhaps he has elected not to since it has very little effect on time to death.

Fatass knows that and he knows we know he is not insane and any actual use of his military will bring the fire and fury raining down, and so we have a stalemate.
Trump's sensible course is to abandon appeasement and hurt Fatass as much as possible and turn the tables on the Chinese by using their pet thorn in our side as an excuse to put the screws to them, turning their chubby asset into a liability.

"Loved this logic by Scalia"
Althouse has a thread on Posner's retirement, where she quotes him as saying how the only decent SCOTUS justices are Breyer and Ginsburg. Just shows how far gone he is from once being a "conservative." Some try to claim he's libertarian, but I see no evidence of that. A cynic might say he knew he couldn't get nominated to the SC as a conservative, because of his paper trail, so he made himself a liberal. Good riddance.

Ignatz - exactly. NK isn't truly isolated, any more than California is. It is approximately a state of China.
Westerners have little appreciation for the eastern mind and culture. Generally, they do not see or act as "individuals." Many things abhorrent to western thought (e.g., massive loss of life in service to the hive) are natural and normal to eastern thought.

The President tweeted this compilation of photos accompanied by Lee Greenwood's great song! Very sweet and touching...
