Krugman's latest is 6 years ago?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

You know, reading that Sally Quinn story and knowing that all of those witches ee trying to hex Trump, I am very pleased know that not only is Mar-a-Lago unscathed, but so is his property on St. Martin's:

Richard Branson's mansion is rubble, but Trump's was untouched.

I choose to see this as a visible sign that the pastors who pray over him have put a shield of protection around him.

And on that...

I heard Krugman was donating all of his ENRON filthy lucre to HARVEY relief.

At my college graduation in 81 we had Carl Sagan whining about nuclear winter.

Must've been something in the water, we had Helen Caldicott shrieking about cognitive dissonance, which was essentially the idea that if you don't agree with her about the whole "eight minutes to midnight" claptrap it's because you have tricked yourself into denial.

And regarding daddy's trying to keep up like Lucy and the candy assembly line, there's this:

Man Tran

An old buddy long passed went to HS with Sagan. Said it was a miracle the pencil necked little shit didn't get beat to a pulp on a regular basis he was so obnoxious.

Back in the day I dubbed him the Establishment's Officially Designated Free Thinker. God I hated the insufferable little shit. I hope he's keeping a comfy place in Hell for Algore when he shows up.

Atta boy, Man Tran.

Now we have the equally insufferable Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Frau Mirabile dictu

Taranto follows the recommended JOM Style Book to write about the former Enron adviser Krugman. How wonderful even if the WSJ would not let me read past the first few sentences.

Ben Nye the Sinus Guy will join them, Porch, doncha think?

The Infamous Ignatz

Bill Nye, Frau.

its time for him to resign.

McCain's office announces that after his MRI at NIH Monday, his doctors are recommending more radiation/chemotherapy

Frau Mirabile dictu

Thanks Iggy, I was stuck on Ben-Gay after that YouTube video bit where Nye looked like an extra from the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

The Infamous Ignatz

--Now we have the equally insufferable Neil deGrasse Tyson.--

Yeah; funny how "diversity" always leads to the same greyscale drudgery.

Frau Mirabile dictu

How about asking Hillary! if she has any regrets about Mr. Nakoula's treatment following her purposely blaming him for the deaths in Benghazi?

Mr. Nakoula's treatment was despicable but fortunately was spared Arkancide. I believe he has legal standing to sue the hag for everything she still has of value.

Frau Mirabile dictu

The Infamous Ignatz

And he shouldn't be shot, why?

The Infamous Ignatz

Sorry MM but;
McMaster is a disaster.

The Infamous Ignatz

Signing off for the night with this thought;

If Kamala Harris runs for president just imagine how many Kamala Toe jokes there are going to be.

Since Hillary Clinton is such a great writer and such an iconic figure to this generation, and since her 33,000 removed E-Mails covered mundane things like Yoga and Wedding Plans, etc, and had absolutely nothing whatever to do with anything "Confidential," that makes it even more important that we demand that she find and publish those 33,000 missing E-mails as her next book. Seriously.

Obviously as a Nation we are both in love with Hillary and enthralled with Hillary. In so much of History the place where we truly learn about such great historical figures is not in their well known writings for the Public but is instead from the marvelous gems we find in their surviving mundane letters. Those day to day snapshots give invaluably rich insight into their marvelous characters, which then allows us to understand and love even more the person who did these great deeds, created these marvelous works of Art, or wrote such great words. Surely these 33,000 E-Mails have to be a trove of such diamonds in the rough, offering witty and endearing behind the scenes peeks at Hillary's marvelous heart.

Consider how sad would be our understanding of such great personages as Caesar, Cicero, Tolstoy, Gandhi, Voltaire, Franklin, Adams, Jefferson, Queen Victoria, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Churchill, Lincoln, FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Austen, Darwin, Dickens, Twain, Victor Hugo, Beethoven and Karl Marx, if all we had were their well known texts and not collections of their day to day correspondence, so crucial in revealing their subtle, their sweet, and their often difficult poignant feelings through thick and thin, good times and bad as revealed in letters to subordinates, foes, and friends.

For History's sake, we must encourage as strongly as possible that Hillary and all her former colleagues work as hard as humanly possible to salvage these 33,000 missing E-mails, and publish them unredacted. Posterity demands it of us, and dare I say it of one who has already given so much, of her as well. It would be selfish for Hillary or for anyone else to deny her adoring public and the generations to follow, the greatest possible opportunity to read Hillary at her most unguarded moments and to experience the full beauty of her magnificent and courageous heart. You owe it to the ages Hillary, you owe it to the Future.

So for that reason, in conjunction with your exciting New Book Tour, I am calling on you pledge to your fans during this marvelous Book Tour that you will make every effort to resurrect those 33,000 missing E-Mails and have them published as your next book for an adoring Public. And for the Ages.

How odd, Frau. That's exactly the sort of world this guy and his wife were creating for Romanians:

ZoBob said I'm spending too much time on line at JOM so she made me watch this video for 6 minutes: What Happens If We Throw an Elephant From a Skyscraper? Life & Size 1

So I did and I enjoyed it!

Without named sources that story is a little sketchy. Especially when I run across this paragraph:

As has been widely reported, Trump’s Chief of Staff General Kelly has instituted tight restrictions on information and contacts reaching the president. Additionally, Kelly has been said to be working closely with General McMaster on issues related to the flow of information within the administration.

The wide reporting on this has come from Mike Cernovich, Alex Jones, and those who give credence to them and quote them.

Does it seem to you that the President is unable to contact people? Is he prohibited from talking to his own family, including Jared, who has been tootling between the Middle East, Israel and Washington for months?

Whenever there are "unnamed sources" I ask why the story is being pushed. In this case, we might have underlings in the White House who are pushing a different agenda or who are out of favor with McMaster, Israeli factions who are more hawkish-or who are trying to force out Netenyahu, or the reporter himself, who could be magnifying an incident to get more attention to his story. It could also be a false story planted by the administration itself for disinformation.

The President has appointed a stellar cabinet of men and women who are performing admirably. McMaster can be replaced and would be if the President didn't think he was doing a good job. He has shown no reluctance to replace people who weren't working out.

I will trust the President's judgement until I see better evidence than this story.

Morning funny:

One of the commenters at Ace stole Ig's most reassuring line:

Just as I will never tire of reading, "Hillary Clinton will never be President of the United States," I will never tire of reading Hillary bashing threads.

His "review" of her book.

Love that funny, MM!
Entering day 3 of no internet so mostly lurking for me.

Thanks for that Ace thread. Those quotes have been showing up on my Twitter feed, and I am glad to see them collected.

Someone on Fox last night, after they played an excerpt from her audio book, said that as miserable as reading it would be, listening would be 1000 times worse!

This should have gotten more headlines:

I think the witness was Miss December:)

That Ace thread is splendid! Many thanks.

Video of the President and the Prime Minister of Malaysia at this link.

I find it interesting that they are starting to put background music in these videos. Gives it a "movie" feel which is appealing.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Local report on Donnelly at the dinner with the President last night:

Miss Marple,

That Awan story is as awful as we all suspected but at least there is some satisfaction at finally seeing it in print:

Awan had access to all emails and office computer files of 45 members of Congress...but they (Awan and wife Alvi) have not yet been charged with criminal cybersecurity violations partly because some of the 45 Democrats have been passive about helping build the case...

...Fear among members that Awan could release embarrassing information if they cooperated with prosecutors could explain why the Democrats have refused to acknowledge the cybersecurity breach publicly

And this:

Police grew suspicious and requested a copy of the server early this year, but they were provided with an elaborate falsified image designed to hide the massive violations.

I'd love to know who provided that falsified image to the Police; Awan, or former Dem Rep Bacerra who is currently California's Attorney General?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

My representative, the odious Andre Carson, Muslim and dim bulb democrat, was one of the reps who used these guys.

Andre Carson sits on the Intelligence Committee.
Regardless of which party is in charge, all members get the information from reports and testimony. For example, if the CIA comes in and reports they have evidence of Pakistani ISI working with the Taliban, all committee members get that report.

So Andre Carson could have had information like that on his computer. I would not be surprised if the Paki intel people actually conducted this operation and that China was in on it as well, since they are allies of the Pakis.

The wide scope of reps who had connections with these guys indicates to me that they systematically set out to ensnare as many as possible, not only for information gathering but possibly also to blackmail for cash and perhaps to control voting.

Carson won't answer questions to any of the reporters here in Indy. I am watching to see if he lawyers up or if he suddenly announces his retirement.

It's a safe democrat seat because his district contains almost all of the inner city, and because fraud is rampant within those precincts. (Past elections have included voting machines found in Fall Creek, more voters than registrants, voters going from precinct to precinct voting, etc.)

His retirement would mean that he was going to be a liability for the dems and that they would put up some other stooge for the seat instead.

that ace thread is great a-mom

Next time somebody you know bitches about women not being equal, show than that post about Hillary. What man would wine and pout and sulk in public about the fact that they Lost an election because they did a terrible job, and blame it on everyone else. Yes Hillary that's why we probably should never elect a woman at least if she has anything in common with you. You make me sick. As they say "man up"

Jane. Al Gore is allegedly a man.

what the hell is wrong with paul ryan?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I think he is influenced by his democrat wife, the Church, and an inflated sense of his own moral superiority and intelligence.

I also see a guy who doesn't like confrontation. (Example A is the debate with Biden back in 2012.)

Also, I don't know who his donors are, but I am pretty sure they don't have my interests at heart.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I am so damn sick of these people I can't see straight.

Virtue-signaling and insulting the president inferring that he didn't do so or that he has to be coerced into not supporting these groups is just shameful.

That would be a Vienna and Geneva convention violation.

a keeper. the quote from the book though ... "These people were looking for absolution that I just couldn't give. We all have to live with the consequences of our decisions."

... wow. just imagine the type of person who could not only think this, but would put it into writing.

then imagine that alcoholic, twitchy, trigger finger on the nuclear buttons.

Reading that, it is unsurprising really that the FBI doesn't want to delve too deeply into it, and the same can be said of the Clinton server as well.

Captain Hate

Maybe go to work for one of those fake conservative think tanks where he can play with powerpoint and spreadsheets all day long.

If the dimwits in Janesville ever went Eric Cantor on him, which they won't, he'd be a good replacement for Steve LaTourette on that RINO stink tank he shilled for before croaking.

According to "The Judge" on the Money Honey show this morning, DOJ will not investigate previous DOJ's or FBI on the assumption that they would then be treated the same way by a successor administration.

Knowing DC, sounds about right.

MM & Porch et al will never convince me that immediately going after these obscene National Security breaches by Hillary and the House both would not have been a good message of a New Day Dawning on Jan 21. Instead, dead silence on the issue sends exactly the opposite message.

Ryan is a leftist Democrat/Globalist (and all that goes with this) who has infiltrated the GOPe. That is the size of it--his role could not be more obvious. Trying to parse his "influences" is rather beside the point.

Though one could reasonable posit that had the Dems not gone so far to the Left he would be a Democrat, but, while perhaps true, also misses the point.

This sort of "parsing" is actually a bit dangerous for this masks what is really going on--Ryan is not some "failed Republican" due to some sort of "character flaw" or "wayward influences". He is not "tone deaf"--far from it. He is performing his allotted task He is wolf in sheep's clothing out to destroy America and replace it with this hideous agenda the globalist would foist on us. Period.

There are a great many like him in the GOPe, though not all of these vipers are actually infiltrators. Mcturrtle, for example is a mainstream insider GOPe globalist, and in the pocket of patrons attendant to that "vision". He really does not care about "Left vs. Right"", and might even have a hard time explaining those notions in a modern context. One gathers that he thinks such things are irrelevant, that all the Leftist prattle of the Democrats is electioneering hogwash just proffered to fool their chumps, as his "conservative" glosses are meant to fool us. Perhaps he just assumes that the Democrats are as corrupt as he is. And so they are--but they have, as we know, an additional project beyond mere graft, beyond mere greed and power grubbing.

So, while Ryan is a plant, McTurtle is a corrupt fool who confuses his base instinct for Reality and The Way Things Really Work.

Both are deeply ruinous to the nation, as most hereabouts have come to comprehend.

Both types need to be cast out, and openly exposed--and it is important that they are not just kept out of office but that they and their agenda are publicly decried from places high and low with unremitting accuracy and unrelenting vigor.

Ryan is a great place to start. The real question here is whether or not his constituency can finally be brought around.

We shall see.

Old Lurker

SqD...districts for two hundred years have been willing to send even criminals back to Congress over and over, so Ryan does not have to worry too much about that.

Now, having him placed in the Driver's Seat by his caucus and allowing him to stay there after his flaws are revealed is an entirely different thing.

Which Congressional caucus is Paul Ryan in? I didn't see his name in any. He seems like a guy who'd strategically pass himself off as "amorphous" and acceptable to all of them.

Janet the expert 🚬

Here is ONE interesting bit from cboldt.

--"two Virginia state troopers who died when their helicopter crashed as they monitored the white nationalist rally, the Associated Press reported." --

"The "white nationalist rally" was declared an illegal gathering at about 11:50 am. The pedestrians strike that killed Heather Heyer was at 1:42 pm, almost two hours later. The helicopter crash was at about 5:00 pm.

I have not read ANY report that asserted the "white nationalist rally" refused or failed to disperse." - cboldt

The NYTimes article again repeats this crap - "Two Virginia State troopers died when their helicopter crashed while monitoring the violence that swept through the usually sedate college town."

The helicopter was on McAuliffe detail.

Also....These are the people that were surrounding cars 2 hours AFTER the event was dispersed. Heather Heyer (who died) was with this crew.
What was she doing in the road surrounding cars? 2 hours after the event was ended, Heather & others were surrounding & blocking cars that were trying to drive through an area. Why? What were they doing? Why was she even IN the road?
