One of the big reasons living in "the mistake" or Cincy never had any appeal.
When we lived in Maryland (which I am sure you know only too well), getting tags meant $500 to the "state approved" shop for some nonsense.

When I left the Old Line State for good in 1974, I'd never made enough money to realize the full gouge. Ahia was the first place I experienced a municipal income tax, so there was that.
Rush is discussing the kneeling business clobbering the NFL and Goddell's pathetic efforts. His comment that "this entire kneeling business has taken so many things out of the mix that are necessary to being a fan" is exactly correct.
I don't know when the next State Of The Union takes place but it wouldn't surprise me if the entire Dem Party in Congress or the Dem Black Causus orchestrates taking a knee during the speech by the President. Anyone know when that next SOTU is?
I was a Bush Jr supporter and defended his policies for the entire 8 years of his presidency. The only interpretation I have of his speech today is that it is a clear sign that the DC Uniparty Establishment Swamp is scared to death of what Trump is doing to them.
For the entire 8 years of the Obama regime Obama, the Democrats and leftwing media blamed Bush Jr for all kinds of things. Not once did Bush Jr defend himself against Obama's accusations and not once did Bush Jr ever criticize Obama.Supposedly it is Presidential etiquette for an ex-President to never criticize a sitting President. The fact that after 8 years of silence Bush Jr is now criticizing Trump to me is a sign of desperation by the DC Establishment.
Your interpretation is probably right but this is such a clueless Hail Mary pass that I can't take it seriously. Are we Trump supporters supposed to go "derp derp, we've been waiting for instructions, boss"?

Porch, if it's a sanctuary city or county, that's the will of the voters.
Meaning if I vote for a guy and he breaks the law, he's not responsible for breaking the law because I voted for him?
People don't officially vote for sanctuary city or county status. At least we don't here in Austin. We (well not me) just vote for leadership who then decide not to enforce.
Appalled, he first talked about the procedure for notifying next of kin. Said some presidents call, some write letters.
He had recommended that the President not call, and then the President decided he should (which goes to my point that the President is trying to do the right thing and cares about the troops) Kelly told him what meant the most to him from one of his friends, that his son died doing what he loved, surrounded by his friends.
He said he was stunned to hear the news of what "that woman" said. He was so upset he went to walk through the headstones at Arlington for an hour and a half. He said that he thought that after all that we have lost as sacred in this country (religion, women, respect for life) he thought that these phone calls were still sacrosanct.
He talked about the most valuable calls he got were from his son's friends still in Afghanistan.
I cannot convey it completely. If I find the video I will post it. It should have shamed the press.
You can tell that General Kelly is damn close to having a tear start coming down his face. You can see the sides of his mouth involuntarily fall down when he is speaking about close friends dying. He is magnificent.
Kelly: ...I was stunned when I came to work yesterday, and brokenhearted, at what I saw a Member of Congress doing. A member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife. And in his way he tried to express that opinion, that he's a brave man, a fallen hero. He knew what he was getting himself into, because he enlisted. There's no reason to enlist, he enlisted. And he was where he wanted to be, exactly where he wanted to be, with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken. That was the message. The message that was transmitted. It stuns me, that a Member of Congress, would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me! And I thought at least that was Sacred. You know when I was a kid growing up a lot of things were Sacred in our country. Women were Sacred, and looked upon with great honor. That's obviously not the case anymore as we see from recent cases. Life, the dignity of Life was Sacred. That's gone. Religion. That seems to be gone as well. Gold Star Families. I think that left in the Convention over the summer. But I just thought the selfless devotion that brings a man or a woman to die on the battlefield, I just thought that that might be Sacred. And when I listened to this woman and what she was saying, and what she was doing on TV, the only thing I could do to collect my thoughts, was to go and walk among the finest men and women on this earth. (His face breaks down again) And you can always find them because they are in Arlington National Cemetery, And I went over there for an hour and a half, walked among their stones, some of whom I put there, because they were doing what I told them to do when they were killed. I'll end with this. In April of 2015, IU was still on Active Duty, I went to the dedication of the new FBI Field Office in Miami, and it was dedicated to 2 men who were killed in a firefight in Miami against drug traffickers in1986. Guy by the name of Grogan, and Duke. Grogan almost retired, 53 years old, Duke I think less than a year on the job. Anyways, they got in a gunfight and they were killed. 3 other FBI Agents were there and they were wounded, now retired. So we go down, Jim Comey did an absolutely brilliant memorial speech to those fallen men, and to all of the men and women of the FBI who serve our country so well, and Law Enforcement so well. There were family members there. Some of the children that were there were only 3 or 4 years old when their dads were killed on that street in Miami Dade. 3 of the men that survived the fight were there and gave a rendition of how brave those men were and how they gave their lives. And a Congress Woman stood up and in a long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise, stood up there and all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building. How she took care of her constituents because she got the the money and how she just called up president Obama and on that phone call he gave the money, the $20 Million to build the building. And she sat down. And we were stunned. Stunned, that she had done it. Even for someone that is that empty of a barrel, we were stunned. But you know, none of us went to the press and criticized. None of us stood up and were appalled. We just said OK, fine. So I still hope that as you write your stories, and I appeal to America, lets not let this last thing that's may be held Sacred in our society, a young man or young woman doing out and giving his or her life for our country, lets try to somehow keep that sacred. But it eroded a great deal yesterday by the selfish behavior of a member of Congress.
It's not pitch perfect, MM. It is directly from the heart.
Sometimes the only thing you can hold on to is that someone died doing the thing they love.
There is little of duty, honor, and country left in much of this country. West Point is embroiled in its own PC scandal. Our universities are hopelessly tainted. The left will say anything, anything, to fan the fires of rebellion. They own the culture of lies and are to a great extent projecting their own failures on the rest of us.
How did that clown get to the family so that she could listen in on a private call? Did she pick up the extension? Did the soldier's wife put the President on speaker? How friggin low can they go?
When Kelly answered questions, he only took calls from those who knew Gold Star families. He asked who knew a Gold Star family and called on them exclusively.
Porch, you know my area. Imagine WAUKESHA COUNTY voted UNANIMOUSLY, that it would not abide FEDERAL INCOMETAX LAWS because BABY KILLING R US, federal funding.
Why Freakarico Wilson would shit in her hat!!!!
Good afternoon! Howie Carr just played the audio of General Kelly's remarks. Those were very powerful words.
A grief stricken family in Maine who lost their son/brother in a military training accident a few months ago are telling the Maine media that Trump never called them. I think they are being used by the anti-Trump media. I don't know if they have a political agenda or are still grieving.
My understanding is that the call was on speakerphone, and that's how Congresswoman Hat listened in.
Politics is an art form, really -- it's supposed to be how we get the heart of the people into the governance of the people. (I know it doesn't usually work that way, but, with the Reagans and the Lincolns, it can.) If someone nails it, manages the right response to put the media in its place, "pitch perfect" is not an insult, or meant as a trivialization of what is said. Frankly, what I read is one of the most eloquent things I have seen since Reagan, and will probably go down (with that Flight 93 article) as one of the more important explanations about what this administration is supposed to be all about.
Chiefs of Staff are usually not meant to be heard. But Trump really needs this guy to talk more.
Isn't it wonderful how things worked out and now General Kelly is in the Oval Office with President Trump! What a blessing he is to Trump and us! The network anchors should all do the news tonight with brown bags over their heads.
Both Reporters on FOX Business are enormously respectful of and blown away by what Gen Kelly just did, and even the guy I loathe, Blake Burman, has slowed down his flippant speech pattern by 50% and is reporting General Kelly's comments and appearance with the honest to God gravitas that it deserves.
As far as Bush goes, he said not one word all during the 8 years of Obama and here Trump has been in office for less then a year and Bush has to go out and give his opinion. What little respect I had left for him is gone.
Appalled, I agree with you about General Kelly needing to be heard more. He was excellent the last time he appeared, too, but this was exceptional. Done without a script, too.
A close friend of mine died in a training accident a few years ago. He was a bird colonel and his chute didn't open. It was a dagger to the heart for all of us that knew him.But he was doing exactly what he loved to do. That was our only consolation. Otherwise it was a stupid *ing training mistake.
I just wanted to emphasize that LTG Kelly was speaking directly from the heart. That wasn't politics. It was a very angry, very controlled, very proper denunciation of a political shitbag by someone who's been there and has the scars.
The opposition has demonstrated that they will go to any length to destroy their opponents and we get GWB's mealy mouthed bullshit aimed at Trump.
Speakerphones are very inappropriate for most personal conversations. The first thing I tell my daughter from California when she calls is to take me off that damn speaker mode because some of what I might tell her is strictly between her and me. I don't know why she's so continually dense about that. If I want to say something to everyone I'll let her know.
General Kelly was heartbreaking, brilliant. Brilliant in the sense of of shining light on those who have attempted to desecrate everything that IS sacred. Thanks to you who shared the transcript and video.
Doesn't matter if The President was on the PA at Yankee Stadium. What he said was respectful and appropriate, I don't give a flying eff, what some DROOLING LIBTARD /MARXIST loser with a pile of Cowboy hats tells YOU. Consider the EFFING SOURCE.
Only a complete ass hole would play such a game for political gain. At least, that's MY UNDERSTANDING.
I think you misunderstood me. The family had Trump on speakerphone, and the Congresswoman was in the car riding to the funeral with them. This isn't like Trump was talking on the speakerphone in the middle of his hotel or something.
I despise speakerphone except when the whole family is saying hi to the grandparents or when I'm in the car (alone) and need to drive and talk at the same time.

Brilliant.

Now you know why Semper Fi(delis) is their call sign.
Our fucking ignorant, snowflake Press still doesn’t get nor the shit eating Dems.

...get it...

Posted by: Stephanie Nene Not your normal Grandma | October 19, 2017 at 03:50 PM
Who knew that General Kelly apparently has another son back in Iraq on a 5th Tour.
I believe he is only taking questions from reporters who know Gold Star Families.
That was magnificently impressive.

Don't exhale unless the casket is adorned with garlic and a silver cross.
P.S. We all know she will announce she is being cremated, fooling no one. The good news is she won't be vexing us in the Afterlife.

I don't know if they have a political agenda or are still grieving.

matt:
Posted by: Appalled | October 19, 2017 at 04:00 PM
Isn't it wonderful how things worked out and now General Kelly is in the Oval Office with President Trump! What a blessing he is to Trump and us! The network anchors should all do the news tonight with brown bags over their heads.

Both Reporters on FOX Business are enormously respectful of and blown away by what Gen Kelly just did, and even the guy I loathe, Blake Burman, has slowed down his flippant speech pattern by 50% and is reporting General Kelly's comments and appearance with the honest to God gravitas that it deserves.
OooRah, General Kelly.
Posted by: daddy | October 19, 2017 at 04:05 PM
As far as Bush goes, he said not one word all during the 8 years of Obama and here Trump has been in office for less then a year and Bush has to go out and give his opinion. What little respect I had left for him is gone.
Posted by: Texas Liberty Gal | October 19, 2017 at 04:05 PM
Stephanie,
Thank you for finding the video.
Dow went up while Kelly was talking, by the way.
Appalled, I agree with you about General Kelly needing to be heard more. He was excellent the last time he appeared, too, but this was exceptional. Done without a script, too.

Your understanding??? What an ass hole.

Texas Liberty Gal,
Don't get me started on Bush's speech. I already ranted about it once.
Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | October 19, 2017 at 04:08 PM
Appalled (and all),
Don't just read the transcript, watch the video too. To say it's "worth your time" is almost an insult to the General.

Lord help us.

Posted by: Captain Hate | October 19, 2017 at 04:15 PM
Captain Hate,
I use speaker on my cell phone when I am by myself, as it allows hands free and also (hate to admit it) I am a little hard of hearing.
I would NEVER use it when anyone is around! Lord knows what might be said!
Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | October 19, 2017 at 04:18 PM
General Kelly was heartbreaking, brilliant. Brilliant in the sense of of shining light on those who have attempted to desecrate everything that IS sacred. Thanks to you who shared the transcript and video.

Steve Scalise to be on Cavuto momentarily.
Posted by: maryrose | October 19, 2017 at 04:21 PM
Doesn't matter if The President was on the PA at Yankee Stadium. What he said was respectful and appropriate, I don't give a flying eff, what some DROOLING LIBTARD /MARXIST loser with a pile of Cowboy hats tells YOU. Consider the EFFING SOURCE.
Only a complete ass hole would play such a game for political gain. At least, that's MY UNDERSTANDING.

Rosenstein and Mueller aren't whitewashing Clinton/ Obama to keep Hillary out of jail. They are protecting their own sorry asses.

I think you misunderstood me. The family had Trump on speakerphone, and the Congresswoman was in the car riding to the funeral with them. This isn't like Trump was talking on the speakerphone in the middle of his hotel or something.
Posted by: Appalled | October 19, 2017 at 04:25 PM
I despise speakerphone except when the whole family is saying hi to the grandparents or when I'm in the car (alone) and need to drive and talk at the same time.

\"Can massive lawsuits be mounted against California law enforcement for not deporting the arsonist?"
Most likely, no. Definitely no if they were obeying the law. Any suit against the state will have a limited liability.
All you can do is shame them.
The times are surely changing, and that might just work.

I guess it remains to be seen whether they were obeying the law.
Sanctuary cities don't have special laws that they have passed. They have a policy of ignoring existing law.

Hope so. Surely there is plenty of outrage over these fires. Policies about letting transients do wtf they want will also be under scrutiny.
The whole thing is so incredibly sad and unnecessary.
