Who killed John Kennedy? Conspiracy theorists eagerly await a major (but incomplete!) file dump.
SIDEBAR: I am scoring this mystery phone call to a Brit paper as BS. What, "Call the US embassy for big news" 25 minutes before Kennedy is shot? Because otherwise the reporters might have not heard about the shooting?
OK, I get that there was no Twitter or CNN in 1963 but still, prior to the shooting this tip was meaningless and afterwards it was hardly necessary. No Sale.

I'd thought at least part of the Catalan independence movement was that they were justifiably tired of subsidizing the rest of Spain. That's been a sore point for years, but maybe Socialists and Muzzies are providing the extra push.

Intriguing to me. Hardly in the no sale category. Yes, the call doesn't make logical sense. However, if the caller had advance knowledge that there would be an assassination attempt, the caller probably wasn't thinking about the fact that the attempt would soon become big news. The caller simply got a thrill in suggesting to a journalist that the caller had advance knowledge.

Re MM's question about The Apocalypse a couple threads back.
It does mean unveiling or revealing which is why the name of the book itself in the original Greek, The Apocalypse of John or more accurately however you spell that in Greek, and is translated as The Revelation of John.
At some point the final battle at Armageddon, or the plain of Meggido, somehow became somewhat synonymous with the Apocalypse.

I think I've said this here before, but my dad's cousin in Amarillo was visiting Parkland Hospital when JFK was brought in (husband was a surgeon). They drove into the cemetery when Oswald was being buried.
She was also overheard saying that this would happen if Lyndon could ever get him to Texas, prompting a SS investigation. Or maybe she made it all up.

I remember being shocked a few years ago when our then 4th grader came home, having learned a new "game". Counting on fingers and knuckles she recited something like "I hate John F Kennedy, Why do I hate John F Kennedy? Because he did this to me."
And the counting ended at the middle finger.
Had never come across that one in all my years but presumably it has circulated in children's culture for decades now.

If Republicans can’t oppose Roy Moore, they’re headed for extinction
Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore serves as a convenient dividing line. If Republicans cannot oppose a former state supreme court justice ousted twice from the bench who espouses rabidly anti-Muslim views and believes homosexuality should be criminalized, the GOP is truly headed for the ash heap of history.

The word has really been twisted because big "reveal" in Revelation is the revealing of something beautiful, the Bride, (in those days brides were veiled), New Jerusalem. The last chapters of the book are stunning for beauty in their description of New Jerusalem:
Rev 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Anyway, if anyone hasn't seen it, it's a spoof on the videos shown at workplaces instructing people on the subject. During college, I had a part-time job working in produce and butcher shop. The guy who would stock the binds and sections with fruits and veggies had Down Syndrome. We all called him "Boss" and he took that to heart.
"Boss, we need more russets", "Boss, bring me out more nectarines". He would also help the customers with their bags to their cars or even across the square to their homes or apartments. I think they said he was in his early forties and every evening before closing his mother would come by to take him home.
Always courteous and never suffered fools. He forgot more about the produce business and its staples then most people would ever learn.
Damn hard worker and did it with dignity, a smile and honest labor.
