Look forward to stadium photos!

When does Hillary get back in the country from the UK? Monday?

Not Manafort. Perhaps that other knucklehead that was on the edges of the campaign trying to be a bfd.

Jane (Stand against the Coup)

Obama paid Perkins Coie nearly a million buck last year.

The plot thickens.

“All of the work that Fusion GPS provided to the Free Beacon was based on public sources, and none of the work product that the Free Beacon received appears in the Steele dossier. The Free Beacon had no knowledge of or connection to the Steele dossier, did not pay for the dossier, and never had contact with, knowledge of, or provided payment for any work performed by Christopher Steele.”

Lawyers for Steele admitted in court filings last April that his work was not verified and was never meant to be made public.

Well then, what was the "work" supposed to be used for? Gossip? Blackmail?

The PL "investigate this" series gives a lot of the process details describing how the Trump campaign was wiretapped.

A bit of search fu turns up Carter Page as knucklehead #2. My pick for Monday indictment (assuming there is one, which I doubt).

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 6m6 minutes ago

Never seen such Republican ANGER & UNITY as I have concerning the lack of investigation on Clinton made Fake Dossier (now $12,000,000?),....

...the Uranium to Russia deal, the 33,000 plus deleted Emails, the Comey fix and so much more. Instead they look at phony Trump/Russia,....

..."collusion," which doesn't exist. The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for our country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the R's...

..are now fighting back like never before. There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!

Marlene

Okay, here's a thought...does anyone think that one of the Clinton cabal could be "turned" or "flipped"? One of the big names who loves the country more than Bill and Hillary? Someone who wouldn't need witness protection because if that person met an (ahem) untimely death,it would be obvious. I can't believe so many people fear the Clintons at this point. Hillary especially treats people like peons. Don't any of these people have any self-respect?
It is all so sad and sickening. It is also laughable that these people think they are "better" than Trump.

P.S. I'm not on drugs, but I only had one cup of coffee. :) My brain is churning with impossible scenarios.

The FISA application to spy on Trump.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Ever notice how at least semi-ethical democrats disappear? Look at this list:

Zell Miller
Evan Bayh
Joe Lieberman

Seen any of them quoted in the press? They seem to have dropped off the face of the earth.

You would have to get a really big gun to flip, and one that they couldn't attack as "in it for the money" or something like that.

Therefore, I vote for Donna Brazile, who has the protection of skin color.

Clarice Feldman

Marlene--it's altogether possible that Manafort did. Remember he only played a tangential, brief role in the Trump campaign--trying to keep the GOPe from stealing convention delegates. But he was working with the Podestas for far longer and in the Ukraine.

mockmook

"DO SOMETHING"

And here I thought DJT was El Presidente...

Stephanie Nene Not your normal Grandma

Zell announced last week that he is going into seclusion as he has advanced Parkinson's.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Stephaie,

I am so sorry to hear that. However, prior to this, has anyone really seen him quoted in the press after W was elected? I haven't.

I am not saying he didn't speak out. I am saying that he could have stood on a soap box in downtown Atlanta and the press would have ignored him. Same with Lieberman and Bayh.

If you aren't willing to be a crook and commie in the current democrat party, you might as well resign. No one will listen to you.

I am beginning to wonder if Menendez got in trouble because he wouldn't go along with something.

Thomas Collins

If there are indictments Monday, they are likely to be for Manafort, and they will be spun by oligarch media as reflecting badly on Trump. This is not a Clinton/Obama sting operation, as some of my friends have speculated here. Mueller comes from a milieu that is virulently anti-Trump, as reflected in the people he has hired. President Trump is just going to have to ride this out and depend on his supporters to leak damaging information about Obama/Clinton dealings with Russia, which oligarch media will strive to minimize. Appalled's argument that there is no evidence Clinton and DNC wouldn't have known where Perkins Coie was funneling the cash is an example of what we'll be treated to.

Hang on, Prez. Heavy turbulence is in the offing.

Ralph L

Why didn't the Free Beacon announce this earlier?
Why didn't they do the work themselves, if it's public, or are they a shell website without actual reporters?

Janet 🚬

I am beginning to wonder if Menendez got in trouble because he wouldn't go along with something.

He opposed the Iran deal & was outspoken about opposing it.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Janet,

Thank you. That makes complete sense.

Ralph L

Kristol is right, we are more infuriated at him than the LIV, who don't know who he is.

jimmyk

That's my view too, TC, though I think he could go after Tony Podesta in an effort to appear even-handed.

Why didn't the Free Beacon announce this earlier?

I think the FB announced it in response to the bogus headline story in yesterday's NYT. As to why they didn't do the work themselves, presumably this was driven by Singer, who--contra the NYT propaganda--is not all that conservative.

Old Lurker

IS THIS TRUE?

MM linked at 8:20 on the previous thread a piece about Tom Fitton which was on Gateway Pundit, I think.

In the middle was this:

"Nine shareholders in Uranium One just happened to provide more than $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation in the run-up to State Department approval."

If that is factual, then finally we know there was enough money involved to make it all make sense to me. The $500,000 speaking fee to Bill just never hacked it for me.

But $145M tax free is life changing money, even for the Clintons.

Ralph L

Kristol mentions the party of Reagan. What did he do:
Broaden the Party
Lower tax rates
Relax socialist regulations
Build defense, bolster allies, and intimidate enemies
What is Trump doing?
The same.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Momto2,

At NIGHT? One big owl, but I think more likely they hit a drone.

Captain Hate

Why didn't the Free Beacon announce this earlier?

Colon Bowel revisited. Keep quiet when you could keep a legal and Constitutionally questionable witch hunt from forming. Singer needs to face the music on this along with plenty of others.

Janet is right on Menendez which is why I'm not on the fry him now bandwagon.

Old Lurker

The last one of those was found in Ft. Marcy Park.

OL, I believe that's old news.

JimNorCal

Someone said Flynn in Monday because he's "already known to be guilty of a crime". Thus, low hanging fruit

Ralph L

Getting dark here. WTH?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Old Lurker,

Yes, that is true about the big donations to the Foundation.

It came out when the story first started getting traction, but for some reason most of the stories have concentrated on the speaking fee. (Probably because they know people like you would think it small potatoes.)

This is very similar to the Loral scandal back during Bubba's time, when donations from people with Chinese and Indonesian connections somehow helped encourage the transfer of Loral's missile technology to China.

Before that, the Chinese had a very primitive missile system. Now, they are talking about a space program.

Thomas Collins

I'm also hoping, jimmyk, that he'll look into some Clintonian and Obamaian dealings with Mother Russia. Rosenstein could help by explicitly directing Mueller to include in his Russkie investigation UraniumGate.

Old Lurker

I must have never heard the $145M figure. That would have stuck with me.

It deserves much more play than it gets - speaking fees are old news but that much tax free cash will pay for a lot of weddings and jets and bribes and white papers.

JimNorCal, I purchased my Pixel XL Plus through my workplace for under 200 dollars, and I thought I was getting hosed (but the less expensive phones don't meet my workplace's security requirements). The opening paragraph from today's Pieces:

The aftermath of the 2016 election has revealed the criminality of the Democrats, the perfidy of the Deep State, the corruption of the press, and the bought and paid for motives of the scribblers in the conservative pundit class. And Trump won despite all that.

Stunning. This syndicate managed to assemble itself sometime after the 2012 election because we all know that prior to that the Birthers were loons for suggesting such a conspiracy.

Old Lurker

Fox: "The government has reached a $2.3 million settlement with survivors of a Marine veteran who died of a drug overdose at the troubled Wisconsin Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Court papers filed Friday say about $1.65 million would go upfront to the widow and daughter of Jason Simcakoski, of Stevens Point, Wis., who was 35 when he died in 2014 at the Tomah VA facility. Another $659,000 would go into annuities for Simcakoski's widow, Heather, and their daughter, Anaya. The rest would go to attorney fees and expenses."

Would somebody please post the list of VA employees who were sanctioned from this.

Did the DoJ even apologize or did they only do that for IRS crimes?

Tc:

In fairness to me, I postulated that as an argument that would be used in a courtroom. A report was undoubtedly made, and the information made its way to the Clinton campaign.

The more important story is whether the Clinton campaign was the group shilling the dossier around town and whether they approved the handoff of the dossier to the FBI.

Clarice Feldman

Thomas Collins

OK, Appalled, if you were saying it in the context of evaluating whether the payment to a foreigner could serve as the basis for an orange jumpsuit fashion show, as opposed to a defense in the political arena, I stand corrected. However, I do think that we'll be treated to those types of arguments by oligarch media as more comes out on UraniumGate.

Man Tran

Re Perkins Coie, we've sampled a variety of FNC shows over the last week or so and in every single case the talking heads including Judge Jeanine explicitly said Perkins COLE. WTF?? Is the dude that types into the TelePrompTer mistyping? Or do all of the readers need glasses? At the least, the Judge should have reflexively read it correctly.

I would think that someone in that shop would react appropriately and help the readers by typing COOEY.

jimmyk

I give Menendez credit for the Iran vote because of how rare it is for any Dem to deviate from voting in lockstep, even if it may have been partly driven by the large Jewish vote in NJ. He seemed sincere, whereas Schmucky was just grandstanding when he knew it would pass anyway.

Not that he should be above the law, but if I had to choose between Menendez or Hillary/Obama/ValJar/LoLy/Power and the rest, I'll throw the book at the Obama criminals.

Boatbuilder on iphone

It would be interesting, Iggy. But if they donated even a relatively small amount Clinton should have recused herself from the approval process (As if!!!)

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Iggy,

Remember the Jeffords Jump? That is when I knew for sure that Kristol was up to no good.

If you remember, Jim Jeffords switched parties suddenly, which meant that W's slim majority became a tie, which led to the odious "power sharing" instituted by Trent Lott.

It came out later that Jeffords was convinced that the dairy subsidy, very important in Vermont, was going to get axed in W's budget. The only problem with that was that the Bush people were mystified, as they had NO intentions of doing that and couldn't figure out where he got the idea.

Right before it was announced, Bill Kristol was on Brit's show on Fox and Brit said he had a scoop. Kristol said that he knew there was going to be someone switching parties and had been talking to Schumer about it. (Schumer was directly under Reid at that point.)

Jeffords later said he got the dairy subsidy information from someone "familiar with the workings of the Bush White House."

I believe that Kristol TOLD Jeffords that so as to prod him into switching. If you remember, Kristol did NOT want W., first pushing for Colin Powell as the candidate and then supporting McCain.

How would Kristol have known Jeffords would switch UNLESS he had talked to either Jeffords or Schumer? And where did Jeffords get the idea from "someone familiar with the Bush White House" unless he got that information from Kristol.

I can still see Kristol sitting next to Brit Hume, SMILING, as he recounted his "scoop."

Kristol also caused trouble when he was Dan Quayle's chief of staff. He was not allowed into strategy meetings for the 1992 elections (which Bush/Quayle lost) because James Baker felt he leaked everything to the press. In his biography, Quayle said it was because Baker was "intimidated by Kristol's intellect."

Has anyone EVER heard of James Baker being intimidated? That line jumped out at me because it made me think that Kristol was pulling an Iago on Quayle, too.

jimmyk

If true I don’t understand why it isn’t and hasn’t been 2” high top of the page headlines.

This is a rhetorical question, right?

Boatbuilder on iphone

Sort of, Jimmyk. I’m dense enough to think that the blatant treason involved might give pause to a few editors out there. Alas.

OL, I'm sure Tammy Baldwin protected most of the VA types in Tomah. My memory is the doctor got canned a while back. Tammy's staff should get hit with civil suits: they ignored the widow's pleas for help, as well as a whistleblower (election going on, must ignore anything that makes Obama or Dems look bad). Something tells me lots of ads will remind us of this through next November.
