Miss Marple's 9:32 is a distillation of the type of oh so clever diversions that Slick polluted political discourse, with the willful complicity of the MFM, with nonsense like depending on the definition of "is". No, you lying pervert, we aren't impressed with your casuistry like dickholes like David Maraniss or Joe Conason. Just tell the truth about what you did or STFU.
MY Thanksgiving includes 2 sisters who voted as I did for President Trump, one sister who is a true Hillary fan (has ALL her books) a dem brother retired union electrical worker and his still-working dem attorney wife, my son who also voted Trump, my daughter who did not, my nephew and his HUSBAND who obviously vote for dems, another nephew who is an ironworker and voted for Trump, and 3 other nieces with 2 husbands who I have no idea how they voted.
Needless to say, politics are verboten. Fortunately, we have many other things to talk about such as travels, new babies, work, new houses and decorating, retirement plans, etc.
My standing rule to my kids is that if my dem sister brings up anything political, I am leaving. They can stay and find a ride home if they want. I will not be bullied for my opinion.
Beasts, I had to re-read your 10:48 -- at first I thought you said 'she let off gas' :) and was sure she exploded and was flying through the air propelled by her own flatulence, but my second read brought me back to earth and I realized she simply fizzled. :)
This is a good article, but the most interesting thing was buried deep in the lower third:
Especially since this week an anonymous complaint filed in California federal court alleged that Weinstein’s acts constitute actual RICO violations and dubbed his habits the “Weinstein Sexual Enterprise.”
I can remember during Slick's presidency MoDo was pretty harsh on him. But then the evil Bush and the sainted Obama pushed all that aside. Now of course it's all about going after Trump, so she can throw the aging and decrepit old cad under the bus.
I can tell you EXACTLY what happened. Dowd was anti-Clinton (and very pointed in her attacks) until SUDDENLY she got asked out by Hollywood idol Michael Douglas, who wined and dined her and dropped her like a hot potato for the luscious hot tomato, Catherine Zeta-Jones, AFTER the impeachment was over.
To this day I believe he was dispatched by slick to court her and get her to tamp down her attacks. Once he survived, she was no longer of interest to Douglas.
Sometimes it helps to not only read the political news but also the gossip columns.
This thread is from someone I follow on Twitter, who claims the sex abuse sluich fund scandal is about to get a whole lot bigger. Worth reading, I think.
To now consider Slick Willie's predilections and predations to be condemnable is worse than maintaining they were acceptable.
It's not like it has to be 2017 and a person "woke" to know what he did was execrable and should have driven him from office, not least for his lying brazenly to the entire world about it.
Nor in the intervening 20 years did it require any special gnosis to understand the guy is a masher, rapist and worst kind of caricature of a corrupt southern pol.
They all knew he and Mdm Ceausescu are criminal scum but they kept them around because they were handy politically.
And they cynically have decided they may now represent a political liability, and even worse, are no longer "progressive" enough for the modern Dem party, even though they're both far left fruitbats or at least will take up the cause to survive.
So Bill n Hill may finally be pushed onto the rail they'll be ridden out of town on, but it will be the worst and most cynical kind of operation that has nothing to do with some awakening of prog probity, but precisely the opposite. It is a political calculation to rid themselves of a couple of albatrosses who have been wandering on the scene for far too long while furthering the smearing of their enemies through innuendo, lies and hitjobs.
My brother was in the Congressional Research Service for over a decade covering the'90's to the mid '00's. Because he did work for all the congressional offices he got to know a lot senators/reps and their staffs very well with lots of invites to office parties and beer swilling at the local pubs, especially the Capitol Lounge.
He said everybody knew what was going on. Everybody. Women congresscritters and senators knew men were behaving badly but made deals to keep quiet to move up the leadership ladder of both sides of the aisle.
He said it was especially bad during 'intern season' when young and unsuspecting ladies from across the nation descended upon the capital during the summer to gain experience.
He said they got plenty of experience and were usually quite well seasoned by the time they returned to their university.
He said the whole place is nothing but a giant frat house with the addition of money and power.
The Richard Scarry books were staples when I was raising my children. (My son was born in 1968.) I went out and bought new copies when my grandson got old enough to look at them with me. I wasOUTRAGED they had changed so much (and it's much more than is illustrated in this story, although they are good exampels).
I was so mad I paid collector prices to get the original editions, which I still have on my bookshelf.
In reading most of the articles about powerful men and the sexual abuse of aspiring actresses and models, I'm struck over and over again at how the women 'feel frozen' or 'feel fear' or 'are afraid' and then 'submit.' Where in the world are their tempers?
Also, I'm amazed at how so many of the attacks are sodomy or cunnilingus or masturbating or, as in this latest article, humping someone's leg -- all sordid and outside of normal sexual intercourse or, laughingly, lovemaking. These men are such perverts, such desiccated, twisted, evil rapist monsters. Because that's what they are. They aren't real men. Not like any man I've ever known. Sick, sick, drooling souls. Hollywood and the entertainment industry attracts the worst kind of human being in those men. What was it Marilyn Monroe said, "“Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul.”
The trouble is, these perverts couldn't operate if most of the women had a spine and high regard for themselves and their own self-worth.
What I think has been created, perhaps unintentionally (although I have my doubts), is an industry which attracts both the worst form of predators and the most fragile and vulnerable of potential victims.
Other industries susceptible to this are the music industry, fashion modeling, and politics.
Also, I now think my grandmother, old-school Methodist and career grade-school teacher, was rightfully horrified when my sister considered trying to make a career of acting. "I still remember her saying to my mother, "Those are people of low reputation."
My sister did somoe acting in college but eventually went into art education, at which she was quite talented and retired a couple of years ago.
She would never have been able to withstand people like Weinstein. I will say, however, she probably would have just packed up and come home to Indiana. (And I wonder how many women have done so after eperiencing the sewer that is Hollywood.)
joan - thanks for that. fwiw, these douchebag 'men' are not like any man I've ever known either. And i'd be very surprised if any of the other male JOMers have a different experience.
One of the most irritating things about the feminazi 'all men are rapists' posture is that many of us are at least as disgusted and angered by all this as you are - not least (but certainly not only) because we have mothers, sisters and daughters.
Also, if I'm being too condemning of the young starlets or models, (my saying this must come from my earliest training -- judge not, let you be judged) :) -- I wonder why some of them didn't retaliate before now -- when they've gained power. Some of these women have become multi-millionaires and have either married another millionaire or co-habitated with other powerful men. Sherry Lansing was CEO of Paramount Pictures. Oprah --she's a billionaire. You can't tell me she didn't know Simmons was a sexual pervert.
If I tried to discuss this with my husband, I know he'd say 'they're all trash.' :)
Guess I should shut up about my disgust and outrage. It's not a very good subject.
People attracted to show biz and politics and, yes, even business and who have the ambition and drive to make it big, of course tend to a higher rate of insecurity issues, weird proclivities and dysfunction.
I'd be surprised if anyone thinks they don't, and given the gawdawful behavior of just regular folks, did anyone think the heights of power, money and "success" was not exponentially worse than the Peyton Place's we see around us?
I've certainly known men like this and worse. One guy I knew shook a baby he was watching until it had brain damage. Another one married to my daughter's friend abused theirs until it eventually died after several months of ill health.
I know creeps who are serial cheaters. A truck driver I used many years ago turned out to be a child molester. One of my friends comes from family in which there was incest. It's everywhere and it's even worse where the freaks congregate.
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. That was true when Jeremiah wrote it and is true today.
Imperator Rex on Twitter has an interesting theory.
Weinstein had armies of private detectives which seemed to keep everyone in line.
What if someone who has billions of dollars at his disposal and has used private security for years hired his own people to investigate what was going on?
I wonder who has anonymously filed that RICO complaint against the "Weinstein sexual enterprise."
Good Morning! I watched a few minutes of Bill and Hillary on the news this morning. She has to be the most obtuse person on the planet. Does she really think we care what she says?
They were "celebrating" the 25th anniversary of his election. They looked like two old people at the retirement home reminiscing about grudges and feuds that are long past and NOBODY CARES! Just shut up!
This is a nice article about the ASPCA Dog of the Year, a companion dog for one of the victims of the Boston Bomber. The video referenced in the article is quite good.

Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!
This links to a Wall Street Journal story on the arrests, but it's behind the paywall. Maybe someone who has a subscription could check it out and see if there are any interesting details.
Extraneous I'm glad you pointed out that the reference to Moore's assistant's signature on the divorce papers didn't show up. Also the author doesn't explain what the hell he's talking about when he references it. I thought I was just being a little dense.
Also I don't think the two colors thing carries a lot of weight. It looks to me like the photo is of the page which is not flat and thus the apparent difference in the colors could simply be the light hitting the page differently.
Don't get me wrong--I am extremely skeptical on this and would like to see solid proof that this is in fact a forgery. I would also like the guy who says he's proving it to do a better job.
Odd that none of the commenters to the AT piece even noted the problem. Just goes to show that people who want to believe something don't really need to be convinced. Happens on both sides.
MM-since you mentioned the three ucla players, did you see what the most popular shirt was among the tailgating crowd outside the LA Coliseum yesterday?
Miss Marple - one of my buddies at the lake is a retired F-4 pilot from the Vietnam era and is Mel's first cousin. (Mel and his family are from this area, by the way) Tillis tried to hire him to be his personal pilot, but he was having too much fun in the service.
He told a story a few weeks ago about Mel being on the road with Waylon Jennings. The two were sharing a room at some rinky-dink hotel. In the early morning hours someone started to break in to their room through the window. Mel woke up and was trying to get Waylon out of bed, but he kept stuttering. He finally breaks down and starts singing 'Waylon, there's someone coming in through the window...'
I'm interested to learn more about
1) #resist by Federal employees (expect that it is HUGE problem right now)
2) government overreach by unelected bureaucrats
3) gov't programs which are not well overseen by Congress
And so on.
Ask you F-4 bud if he knows Bob Jones or Dick Rutan? Jonesy flew with Dick (wing leader) and they both went on to the U.K. after their tour. Bob eventually 'cleared the path' for daddy to enjoy Anchorage while driving for Fred's company.
I'll do that, Man Tran. He was also telling a story about flying Joey Bishop and a protocol officer from a base in Colorado out to Las Vegas. He said Joey was very interested in the plane - an early Lear - and he told him to watch the horizon. He then turned off his transponder and pulled a 1.0g aileron roll - never spilling a drop from Joey's Scotch!! He said when they landed Joey was telling the dignitaries on the ground about it, but my buddy said that Bishop was drunk. lol
I can support expulsion. Not only would it teach the three of them the appropriate lesson, it would catch the attention of a nation of college athletes.
Tribe faceplanted with that one. There's nothing "distinctively Jewish" about the misspelling "Stien," which doesn't exist. "Stein" is sometimes pronounced "Stine" and sometimes "Steen." "Stine" is more "correct," but again, Jewish has nothing to do with it.
As one of the commenters there pointed out, Weiner (ironically) mispronounces his own name, which should be "Winer."
Tribe is a blubbering fukwad, in love with himself.
Ask the stupid motherfucker, how KOCH is pronounced. Then ask how the fuck he became the authority on the matter.
Tribe’s probably worse just because he’s still breathing. And he did have a major hand in foisting Zero on us.
Both of them were frequently mentioned by the dimwits appearing on Meet the Depressed as "great choices for the Supreme Court" as the rest of us reached for the remote to find something less time wasting. You might be right about Zippy but I strongly believe that the pinheads who gave Tribe any credence were already in the tank.
In all this expedient faux applologizing from the Left for excusing Bill Clintons rapes, have any of the apologists appologized yet to you and me and the folks they damned for decade for knowing the obvious truth all along?
Juanita Broderick, Kathleen Willit, Linda Tripp and Paula Jones aint the only deplorables deserving apologies. About 250 million more of us deserve them as well.
I took a short nap and before I dozed off I heard Steve Mnuchin on Wallace's show. He gave a great answer to the ending of the individual mandate fine: "It's a tax on poor people who can't afford medical insurance."
Why do COMMIE LIBTARDS hate poor people who cannot afford health insurance.
Wasn't Obamacare called THE AFFORDABLE CARE act.
NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.
Jonesy flew with Dick (wing leader) and they both went on to the U.K. after their tour.
Man Tran, IIRC, I think Bob Jones, just a year or 2 prior to retirement, swapped homes for about 3 to 6 months with some family in southern France, so he and his kids had a great extended residence in somewhere like Lyon, and you on the island had Frog neighbors for a while. Does that ring a bell with you at all?
You know, the longer I use this new Firefox, the slower it operates. I just now shut everything down to try and see if maybe there were some things in the background hanging up my system. Nope.
It took almost a minute and a half to load JOM.
Places with lots of ads load even slower. It's very annoying.
One of Canada’s most eminent emeritus journalistic personalities approvingly just sent me a really insane piece from the droolingly Americophobic (U.K.) Guardian, fortunately on the verge of bankruptcy and reduced to a pitiful variation of crowd-funding, which asserts that Putin has manipulated the entire American political system for many years. This astounding surge of Russia to the status of a bogeyman greater than it ever enjoyed in the febrile ravings of Joseph R. McCarthy is piquant.
2 questions. Is the Guardian really going bankrupt? If so, yip, yip yippie!
And what is "piquant?" And should we all have to use it properly in a comment before the day is done?
Any of you who have relatives or friends in West Virginia might want to email them this column about how the media has covered up the West Virginia energy deal with China:
I can support expulsion. Not only would it teach the three of them the appropriate lesson, it would catch the attention of a nation of college athletes.
anonamom - Father Ball should learn a lesson, also. The family lives in a neighboring county and our paper is always full of a story about one of the sons and the father who arrogantly states that stealing is no big deal. Where's the mother?
Speaking of mothers, why is the report that Roy Moore asked the *mothers* if he could date their young daughters? No fathers?
Just curious.
"Lawrence Tribe Calls Trump's Misspelling Of Frankenstein "At Least Subconsciously Anti-Semitic."
Reading "An Army At Dawn" last night, Rick Atkinsons's excellent account of the US Army fighting in North Africa in their early days of WW2, I saw that to foment revolt and distrust among the native Arab populations, the NAZI's pushed the meme that Conmanding General Eisenhower was a Jew. As a consequence, to quell that falsehood, word went out from the high command powers that from then on Eisenhower was never to be referred to by his nickname "Ike," thereby guaranteeing that for the last 80 years he is never referred to by anything than "Ike." 😀
So just thought it appropriate to mention that if Trump is "subconsciously Anti-Semitic," then Lawrence Tribe is "a NAZI collaborationist," consciously or subconsciously, you be the judge.
"Lawrence Tribe Calls Trump's Misspelling Of Frankenstein "At Least Subconsciously Anti-Semitic."
Can a COMMIE LIBFUK become any more irrelevant than TRIBE??
A war is coming my friends. I've said it for several years. The COMMIES keep lying cheating stealing, bribing etc etc etc etc, then they use race, gender, class, job status, and even TRANSEXUALS to try and dishonestly destroy America. We will not put up with it for ever. TRIBE is a fucking clown.
Oh, Sunday morning sleaze! Somehow more appropriate for the afternoon or evening..

Just wondering, you know.

How funny is that!! :)

He said when they landed Joey was telling the dignitaries on the ground about it, but my buddy said that Bishop was drunk. lol

Both. Neither is intelligent neither is honest.
Who gives a fuck what either says??
Posted by: GUS | November 19, 2017 at 03:20 PM
Tribe faceplanted with that one. There's nothing "distinctively Jewish" about the misspelling "Stien," which doesn't exist. "Stein" is sometimes pronounced "Stine" and sometimes "Steen." "Stine" is more "correct," but again, Jewish has nothing to do with it.
As one of the commenters there pointed out, Weiner (ironically) mispronounces his own name, which should be "Winer."

From ExDems Conrd Black link:
