How great is it to watch Lena Dunham spend a few moments on the sexual harassment dunk tank? Here is a woman of no conviction and no evident ability to anticipate the most obvious of points and counterpoints and she is simply flailing.
The gist - in a moment of weakness Ms. Dunham gave in to antiquated notions of loyalty, justice and fair play, delivering a statement in support of a male colleague accused of rape.
Now, pause a moment and reflect on the current "believe the woman" environment. Can anyone anywhere imagine that ardent feminists will thank Ms. Dunham for her clarification and decide to back away from the accuser? Are feminists saying "Believe the woman unless Lena Dunham vouches for the man"? Of course not - the outrage was inevitable, although evidently a surprise to Ms. Dunham. Geez, forget about chess or checkers - can she even manage a game of CandyLand?
In any case, since Ms. Dunham is a woman of little character her belief in loyalty didn't last any longer than a bag of potato chips in her dressing room.
Here is her opening salvo and the frantic backpedaling:
Dunham and Konner had defended Miller in a statement to Variety on Friday, saying, "While our first instinct is to listen to every woman’s story, our insider knowledge of Murray’s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3% of assault cases that are misreported every year."
Miller, through his attorney, told the publication that he "categorically and vehemently denies Ms. Perrineau’s outrageous claims." Perrineau confirmed to the Wrap on Friday that she had filed a report with law enforcement alleging Miller had nonconsensual sex with her in 2012, when she was 17.
Dunham has since apologized for defending Miller.
"I naively believed it was important to share my perspective on my friend's situation as it has transpired behind the scenes over the last few months," she said in a statement Saturday on Twitter. "I now understand that it was absolutely the wrong time to come forward with such a statement."
Oh for heaven's sake - If this is the wrong time to stand up for a friend, when is the right time? After the accusations have taken hold and his career is ruined?
When Lena enters a room with one other person, the average IQ in the room drops by 50%. She never was, nor will she ever be, the sharpest crayon in the box.

Carry over from last thread:
Charlie Rose? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What a stud(ebaker)!
I was thinking what a propaganda machine today's media engines are.
All this "workin out", "power tools", "chix wearin' tool belts", "grrrlz kick ass" bumperstickers and the endless ads featuring chix sweating in a stinky gym then relaxing with a two calorie beer with their metrosexual man bun wearing dildologists....
I mean, all of that suggests wymynz are getting stronger, fitter, and have more heft than most of the man-bun wearing male population in America (the propaganda machine is saying "we" are all turning into queer bait)...
...and here these chix can't fight off a scarecrow like Charlie Rose. More crossfit, Ladies.

fitting lyrics of a song that's been relevant for a long long time in America (Wall of Denial, Stevie Ray Vaughan RIP)
A wall of denial is falling down
Whoa it's fallin' so hard, down to the ground
Never knew something so strong could be washed away by tears
But this wall of denial was just built on fear
We've all had our demons from the garden of white lies
Dressed them, amused them, pulling' wool over our eyes
Go so far as to love them to keep from letting them go
All the while they we're killin' us, but we couldn't let it show
No matter what the trouble we carry round inside
We're never safe from the truth but in the truth we can survive
When this wall of denial comes tumbling down
Down to the ground
Simple things in life bring the greatest pleasure
A smile, a kiss, a little baby's laughter
It makes no difference if we run away in fear
The little things in life hold us so near
No matter what the trouble we carry round inside
Never safe from the truth but in the truth we can survive
When this wall of denial comes tumblin' down
Yeah this wall of denial must tumble down
Down to the ground

Posted by: Jane - not "in" | November 20, 2017 at 06:38 PM
I think it's a case that for many years now there has been a whole class of people, otherwise known as the "elites" who haven't been abiding by the laws of society and of the justice system that us normals have to. And because of that, and the lack of repercussions for what they've been doing, they've become ever more bold in their sexual perviness and in their other law-breaking--like pay-to-play, money laundering, influence peddling, bribery, etc.
Maybe it was planned as a means to take out Trump, or to pave the way for Dem woman nominee in 2020, and maybe it just happened, but I think a dam broke with Ross McGowen accusing Weinstein and Rowan Farrow writing about it, and now it's become a torrent that the Left can't stop, and it's consuming them.
One of the Left's biggest failings has always been their blindness to the law of unintended consequences.

I've tried to subtly refer to this but I was for several years a target of groupies. I know what some of these nerds were feeling when they came upon hot willing women who wouldn't otherwise give them the time of day if not for their positions.
Most of the men being accused were just clumsy. I wasn't, and could never be accused of any of this stuff, and I'd bet a lot of money that Trump couldn't either.

Hard to believe. My first corporate "seminar" in sexual harrassment was back in 1979. Look how far we have come:
I had 3 exceptional women working for me on a Nuke in Michigan. All of them unqualified for the job they were hired to do. This is back in the day when we hire people out of Barber College to work as quality control engineers.
I came into the job from another job and was horrified at what I found. Decided to go the training route versus outright dismissal. Lots of reasons why but having to find qualified people was a problem and anyone else brought it would have to be trained also.
The end result was that because I decided to treat the unqualified women as that and put them into intensive training for their jobs I was brought up on sexual harrassment that went nowhere because the NRC stepped in, agreed with me and fined the operator for allowing unqualified engineering and technical personnel in the first place.
It can be extremely dangerous out there for any employer or male/female if the personnel structure of compliance is not in place when hiring.

I'm sure you're right, Ext. The groupie situation allows access. So this is where a guy like Glenn Thrush is able to take a young reporterette in the making to a bar and sit at his favorite booth in the back. And since Glenn Thrush is a douche, he's going to continue to press his luck even when he's not getting positive signals.
Sometimes it could be a genuine misreading of the situation, sometimes it's because they do what they know they can get away with.

Hell yeah, Christmas is more special this year than the last 8. We are going to our Florida hidey and enjoy every minute while decorating the Southampton house for those days leading up. Saturday after Thanksgiving we have our annual Christmas parade where we have all the fire trucks and ambulances lit up. My dad started the Christmas decoration effort on Job's Lane and Main Street. Hundreds of christmas trees and permanent trees lit up. Spectacular.
Plus we have a huge creche at our Basilica on Hill Street. Lots of Advent activities and events. Really special. Especially the carolers and musicians all through the season.
Thank you President Trump for bringing God back into Christmas.

I spent a day with Terry Glenn once upon a time. Nice enough guy, but I remember one thing above all others: He drove like a maniac

JiB, yes indeed. Florida Christmas for me as well. First time the whole family has been together in years.

Pirro was racing to her mother;s nursing home, where she was ill.
Just found that out.

Dave,
Was it a Tesla? If so, disappointed.
BTW, Barron Trump is destined to be over 6'3 or 4. Because both parents are tall. Frederick is already 5'10 at 14. I am buying for the Spring and Summer as if he is 6'0''. That is the way they grow.

Jack,
And they are HUNGRY when they are growing like that. I remember my son getting half of a roast out of the fridge and eating the whole thing, dipping it in A1! In one big hunk! Not even cut up!
LOL!

I love the way Mark Steyn reminds us today that one of Obama's besties was a big fan of the Manson gang, Bernadine Dohrn applauding how the murderers ate after the murders and stuck a fork in Sharon Tate's pregnant abdomen.
