As further evidence that they have fully lost the plot, NY Times reporters make a clear case that Trump has no shot at being the next President of the European Union:
U.S. Tax Bill May Inspire Cuts Globally, While Fueling Trade Tensions
To President Trump and congressional Republicans, the overhaul of the tax code that became law on Friday will make the United States a better place to do business. To the rest of the world, it has the potential to challenge the global economic order, creating an uneven playing field and setting off a race among countries to cut corporate taxes.
The overhaul is already threatening economic relations, adding to concerns that Mr. Trump is advancing a nationalistic agenda at the expense of other countries.
Weird. On a normal day we are told the tax bill is a giveaway to the rich that will do nothing for the working class. But today we learn that world leaders are concerned it will lead to investments and business activity in the United States that would otherwise occur elsewhere and Trump is to blame. That's a heckuva message: Europe and China wouldn't have to worry about US competition if Hillary were in charge!
For the umpty-bumpth time I am reminded I will never have sufficient intellectual agility to be a progressive.
Un, s'il vous plait.

My husband volunteered one of his most memorable Christmas Eves just now--our first as a married couple, when we were at my parents home in Manistee, Michigan (the only year they lived there) which is on Lake Michigan and boomed during the lumbering era of the 1880s. We walked as a family of eight from the home they were renting along the snow piled sidewalks and streets(record snow that December) to the Catholic church built 100 years before, when lumber was king there. Rather European looking and ornate. It was lit only by candles. He'd been raised as a heathen, so the entire thing was rather new.

This is a video explaining Qanon. I do not go to 4chan so was unaware of some of this stuff.
Whoever this person or persons are, they have a lot of information, some seemingly bizarre.
What I want to know is if Trump's tweets really do coordinate with some of qanon's sayings, and what group has the resources to make a video like this, complete with theme music.
Has anyone here followed this? I am mystified and rather alarmed, as this seems to be a lot bigger and more sinister than the evil stuff I knew the Clinton and Obama group did.
I have no idea if this is real, a hoax, or psy-ops to frighten the Deep State.

I think one thing that should come of this is that Presidential libraries should be involved only with the preservation of papers and memorabilia, and there should be NO fondations attached for any purpose whatsoever.
If they want to be involved in charity work, they can raise funds for the Salvation Army or something.
For the life of me I do not understand why no one outside of conservative circles saw the Clinton Foundation as problematic, and as a huge vehicle for buying favors for donors and for the Clintons to wield influence.
I would put the Bush Foundation in that same category, although on a smaller scale. I wonder how much donations spiked during Jeb's run-up to declaring he would run, and how much they dropped after he quit the race.

As great as Reagan was and as great as his achievements, I'm forced to concede even he did not, at least domestically, govern as effectively or as boldly as Trump.
It is slowly emerging that Trump has not only declared war on the administrative state through his attacks on overregulation and winnowing out of the bureaucrats but he has decided he will choke the sick prog-state nexus that has funneled so many billions of taxpayer dollars and foreign interests' monies to the prog enemies of all taxpayers.
If he could count on a congress to statutorily help him throttle those scum, the pinko slime would be set back at least a half century in their drive to collectivize us.

Extraneus,
I agree. One thing I seriously wonder about is whether they were ever really on our side, or were simply trying to steer ui to defeat while standing on "principles".
I gave my explanation on Bill Kristol a few threads ago. He destroyed Dan Quayle with his advice. He sandbagged Bush 43 by instigating the Jeffords Jump.
All the while he was skulking around DC he was stirring up conflict and distrust. He starts a magazine which STILL trashed President Trump, and although Hadley is now the editor, it takes positions which are unreasonable.
And I haven't even gotten to David Frum, Max Boot, Evan McMullin (whom I believe to be a Deep State operative) and the rest.
No, I don't want them. If they couldn't come to our side after the appointment of the most stellar cabinet in history, successful foreign policy advances, and the defeat of ISIS (not to mention tax cuts and reform) I do not want them. They are unnecessary baggage we do not need.
Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | December 24, 2017 at 10:58 AM

Thoughts on HoldMyNoser Hugh Hewitt by Deplorable Don.
http://donsurber.blogspot.com/2017/12/trump-is-checking-off-hugh-hewitts-list.html#more
"Hugh Hewitt is outside my ken. There are too many conservative voices out there for me to keep up with all of them. ... (A fan pointed out a 15 year old Hewitt T-shirt) On the back, it listed the five things he was calling for Bush to do, as a Conservative president. Things he never did.
Win the war.
Confirm the judges.
Cut the taxes.
Control the spending.
Secure the border.
... eventually Hewitt voted for Trump. In many ways that is a more admirable vote than mine was because Hewitt really had to put principle first. I had no trouble voting. He had to hold his nose and cross his fingers.
... remember Trump's campaign song:
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, yeah
You might find you get what you need!

A Lowry or a Goldberg or a Hewitt who has by now come around to or at least acknowledged the validity of the dark side due to the incontrovertible evidence that Trump, despite whatever style points they deduct, is the real deal I have no problem welcoming.
A Kristol, JPod, Hayes or Boot who remain obdurately opposed despite the obvious sincerity of Trump in cutting our enemies down to size could never be trusted.
Better they wallow in their growing irrelevancy and weird conceits.

sbw,
I think so. A lot of people do not realize that is an actual crime, apparently, including many in the FBI.
My personal opinion is that they are going to have to start with the crimes which are black and white, no political spin will work on them. This would include involvement in human trafficking and child porn, drug sales, selling weapons to terrorists, etc.
The stuff within the FBI would be spin as "defending the nation from the Russian= influenced administration."
That is why the Hezbollah drug ring is so important. It's a nexus between some of these people and drugs and terrorism.

"The stuff within the FBI would be spin as "defending the nation from the Russian= influenced administration."
i noted a very long time ago that if you read carefully what the leftists were saying back then, it revealed that they equated - and thus confused - 'the Hillary campaign' with 'the nation'. That is why they have never seen any reason to explain why revealing DNC emails is 'treasonous.'

Hewitt needs to drop the Cleveland references while obviously preferring to live in California. Few things irk me as much as that does.
Iowahawk is a bit the same. If your home state is so great, why haven't you lived there for the last 35 years?

The CTH link has a pic of a sad Comey sitting at the witness table and what appears to be a scowling ABC's Mark Halperin sitting in a close-friend chair behind him. I guess Halperin's close association was supposed to reflect well on Comey, but between Halperin's firing and Comey's new "Leaky" nic, it suggests skulduggery even then.

Ugh, quotation fail - sorry, Cap'n.
Trump is a Titan among men. The NeverTrumpers look so sorry and puny next to him. They know it, he knows it, everyone knows it.
By this time next year they will be pretending they all voted for him in the primary.

One of our old friends in the neighborhood just texted to ask if our son was available to play with his son today.
On Christmas Eve. Who does that????
Lefty atheists, I guess.

Porchlight,
Hillary's big mistake was staying in the limelight. People like muy daughter (who voted for her because she was scared of Trump) are continually reminded by her very presnce of how she cheated Bernie and how she is a money grubber. My daughter now hates her.
Other than those who are bound to her by criminal activities and accepting payoffs, she is going to find that she has few allies.
She would have been better off retreating into silence, where she could have assumed mythical proportions. Instead, she has remained as a continual reminder of her money-grubbing and cheating behavior.
I believe the Foundation will be targeted first, as it is the easiest chunk of corruption to understand. However, that Hezbollah drug ring will get more attentin in the new year, so Obama isn't out of the woods, either.
When Trump said "Because you'd be in jail" it wasn't a snappy comeback alone. He meant it.

I think this decision was illconsidered:

I agree, Miss M. Think of the evidence that is now out there that wasn't there in January when Hillary was still doing her wounded bird act.
He gave her the chance to slink away quietly, but being a foul, nasty Clinton, she couldn't do it. Her funeral.

There is no reasoning with or reaching the people who are quoted in that article. There’s no point trying. The only answer they deserve - filled with hatred and bigotry and contempt as they are - is: Eff you.
