Good Grief.... does anyone else, other than Peter Strzok, even work in the FBI?

Catsmeat

In my most basic reading, Romanticists embraced a fully liberationist reading of the self. But that was silly of them, particularly Shelley and Byron (self-eaters). Wordsworth and Coleridge ended up as orthodox Christian thinkers as anyone could have wished. And what to do with Blake? A true original and fairly likely insane?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

If Rosie ever experienced a real meltdown all that would be rendered is a 55 gallon drum of spermaceti.

Realize there aren't many NFL watchers here. But if inclined might want to spare a thought for Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who was injured making a tackle, and looked to be very much paralyzed.

Good discussions tonight folks. Time to do some reading and listen to music.

It's a brutal game and careers of people luckier (and it's just dumb luck that what happened to this guy or Bo Jackson doesn't happen to the rest) than Shazier are still on average significantly shorter than the other major sports.

Buckeye

I saw that hit on Shazier.

I thought he was moving some while on the ground?

David, Internet Deplorable

Hahahahaha! This couldn't happen to a slimier asshole.

There has been a reported falling out between U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller and ex-FBI Chief James Comey in recent weeks which leaves Comey potentially vulnerable to possible criminal charges, according to Justice Department and FBI sources.

The stakes have changed in the sweeping Russia collusion investigation that has spread far beyond the 2016 presidential election timeline.

Any immunity agreement that was previously on the table protecting Comey is now off the table, according to multiple DOJ sources. For months since he was fired by President Donald Trump in June, Comey has been testifying and acting like a major D.C. player with little to worry about.

But at some point in recent weeks, that has changed based on new information about Comey’s tenure at FBI which has been uncovered during Mueller’s probe, sources said.

Be still, my beating heart. Truepundit, so take with a grain of salt.

Only on about page 30 of Game of Thorns by Doug Wead, historian. It's on the Clinton vs Trump campaign, btw Wead was predicting a Trump win very early.
There's an intro of Clinton troubles with the FBI and how Bill Clinton and Obama both put a lot of effort into molding and politicizing it.
Recommended. I find myself wanting to type vast sections into these comments.

Buckeye, after he went down, he reached back toward his mid-back. Was able to turn himself over onto his back, then test his arms. But at no point did his legs move - just kind of flopped over in exactly the way my wife's arm flopped around after she got a nerve block in the shoulder prior to wrist surgery. That's when I thought it was bad.

Buckeye

Unless the Special Counsel position includes blanket immunity, not buying the Trupundit story. Comey likely has as much on Mueller as Mueller has on him.

One thing you should know about those tennis stars; you'd better be 6'4"+ or they will tower over you.

They are like some of the best swimmers, very tall with wingspans like eagles.

I remember standing in the Seoul Olympic Village next to some of the East German swimmers and being somewhat dwarfed. And they were all wimmenz. Pretty obvious they were on the STASI miracle diet.

Even pitchers now, as well as QB's are very large people. Skinny, but large.

Well, friends, I caught a bad bug last week (should have cooked up rse's concoction in early November as planned but it has been so warm I put it off -- it's still 60 degrees outside right now at 11 p.m.) but my real problem is this and I've debated for days whether to say anything at all: I have bad news about my mother, my Georgia Peach.

About 10 days ago she was diagnosed with cancer (she had dealt with an endometrial cancer issue a few years ago). A mass was found on her liver and determined to be cancerous, and it has spread. Absolute source undetermined; all we know for sure is they say she has an "intra-abdominal malignancy." She turns 85 in February, oncology appointment on Wednesday.

I'm trying to hang in there, but I'm devastated and finding it very hard to focus. The idea of that Wednesday appointment is driving me crazy.

So sorry to hear that rattler, you were right to share that with us, we will keep her in our prayers.

On the NFL, in 1987 they had replacement players when the they had a lock out. Can not do the same thing in this day and age because fantasy football provides a big part of the revenue. Hadn't seen this posted, so note that according to Don Surber
CNN: "ABC News president James Goldston excoriated staff Monday over Brian Ross' major error on a report about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and announced that Ross, the network's chief investigative reporter, will no longer cover stories related to President Trump."
http://donsurber.blogspot.com/2017/12/credit-trump-for-ross-suspension.html

Surber:
That is a significant move. Not only is an ace reporter kicked off the network for four weeks, but he is banned from covering the most important story in the nation. ... Lazy reporting no longer cuts it. And the press should thank Donald Trump for doing this, because if the press is as vital to a democratic republic as journalists say it is, then forcing journalists to be truthful and honest is a great gift to this nation. I nominate Donald Trump for the 2018 Pulitzer for public service. Make Journalism Great Again.

How do Senate recesses work? Does it require unanimity to keep the Senate in "pro forma" session or not?
A commenter at BJG blog:
"If Moore gets in and wants a little payback… the next time “Recess” comes up Turtle is either gonna have to keep it extremely short, or else Moore could give everyone the finger and not be the 100th vote to keep pro-forma sessions going. Which would mean Trump could..could go wild with recess appointments. "

Why call him Agent Strzok, when Agent Zelig seems to work as well.

No. "Dirty Cop" Strzok, "Dirty Cop" Strzok, "Dirty Cop" Strzok.

"Dirty Cop" Strzok has a heft and a grab and a purchase on this miserable sunuvabitch that he has well earned and that ought to stick to him like stink on shit all the days of his ignominious life. Can I please encourage folks to start terming this rotten turd "Dirty Cop" Strzok?

Here in the Memphis Hotel lounge I just watched a replay of Lou Dobb's excellent Show hammering Strzok, (I changed the channel from CNN) but if he and his guests had used the moniker "Dirty Cop" Strzok in describing this cancerous enemy to our Republic instead of floundering around trying to figure out his name that apt description would have been cemented in people's minds and this sinister shithook would have had the label "Dirty Cop" adhere to him like the scent of a turd for the rest of his life.

"Dirty Cop" Strzok. "Dirty Cop" Strzok. "Dirty Cop" Strzok.

All about Hillary's server, the FBI investigation and so on. A few snips:

one side effect was the US Intelligence Community lost all its HUMINT networks in China. ... The @FBI released documents requested by @ChuckGrassley & judiciary oversight about this and found @comey gave them edited docs that reveal he perjured himself before committee lying to protect her. fbi.gov/news/pressrel/… We also found out that Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did *not* recuse himself from the Hillary email case @comey put him in charge of as he had testified he did, under oath: (JudicialWatch link) ... Comey, obama and lynch corrupted the entire FBI leadership w HRC protectors. His deputy, McCabe is under investigation right with him. I'm talking criminal charges. ... Dr Jill McCabe w help from Hillary and Terry amassed $1.6 mil in a race she lost ... Virginia has lax state laws allowing candidates to Essentially KEEP the $. Mcauliffe and Clinton gave the McCabes almost $700k while he was investigating her. ... Flynn essentially pleads guilty to a minor charge that wipes out his NDA associated w his clearance. He's now free to talk about all this. In court. ... It's curious the day after Flynn plead out we get word McCabe is under criminal investigation by OIG that'll likely charge him, that the agents that left mueller were fired for personal texts & emails derogatory to PDJT while investigating his campaign.

RG, so sorry for your sudden sad news about your momma.
We had very similar event with my 82 year old father, three years ago last September. He oh so wisely knew not to go through the hell that is treatment for his metastatic disease, and had the most wonderful seven weeks of his life. He chose to have palliative care only for a few of his lesions---some very limited radiation therapy for two at the spine, then hospice care the final week.
All of his grandchildren were able to come and stay with him and my mother for visits, despite being scattered across the country; his children were with him multiple days. Many friends were able to express their love and share their memories, and wish him well.

All five of children were under his roof at the same time the day he died; it was the most memorable day of my adult life. His final gift to us all.

I pray for the same for your mother and your family.

Hi Miss M!

Have not seen it and will look 1st thing tomorrow. Thanks again so much for posting such links.

Getting in to Memphis tonight was a bear. A huge front of really tough weather stretched from GUS's house, thru your house, and on down unbroken to Porchlight in Texas. Pounded the heck out of us, and we just slid in to Melvis Runway 27 after 20 minutes of holding, as the weather closed around us and shut the field down hard. So naturally we pounded two 6-packs in the Hotel lobby and now I am about to pass out. Mañana.

Today I'll pray the Divine Mercy for your Georgia Peach RG.

Jesus revealed to St. Faustina and insisted that she use often — even continuously: The Divine Mercy Chaplet. Jesus said: "My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet. ... Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior (Diary, 1541).

Earlier, Our Lord said to her, "At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the indulgence is the same" (Diary, 811).

It's a beautiful prayer in song
