MM, on the other thread you had a link about Dems opposing tax cuts because they think taxes are like charity therefore cutting them implies lack of charity.
I call BS on that. 60% of government spending is a transfer of money from Peter to Paul. Dems just assume they are Paul or related to him or earn their salaries by standing between Peter & Paul and they want more of Peter's loot.
I would take (or modify) appalled's point to be a suggestion not to personalize comments people make here about politics or political commentary. Even when it sounds personal, like "____ is an a**hole."
Hmmm, guess jimmyk doesn't want me posting anymore:)
I think you're both right, OL. The Dems are Paul, and know they're Paul...but they are lying to voters to convince them that it's charity (and keep the money flowing so they can take their cut)
It was apparently Bernie Sanders and Ron Wyden who brought the change in 529 plans involving homeschoolers to the attention of the senate parliamentarian as a rule violation. So 529 plans can now be used for K-12 expenses if they are for a private or parochial school.
If anyone wants to know my thoughts on this, money following the child in any capacity binds the school to certain criteria that are out of sight of parents and usually imposed by the accreditors. Cruz's original amendment would have essentially taken out all ports in the storm. Does he know that? probably as heritage and nhsld had reps at the Rome conference set up by unesco a few years ago to bring home schooling under the broader learning standards template globally.
Cruz was also a listed speaker at the bipartisan leadership conference Convergence held that had plenty of speakers from soros entities too. I think that was december 2015.
Se why I write about the right and left pincers that are headed to the same place?
I call BS on that. 60% of government spending is a transfer of money from Peter to Paul. Dems just assume they are Paul or related to him or earn their salaries by standing between Peter & Paul and they want Peter's loot.
I know that. What they have done (and sorry if I wasn't clear) is make the public reluctant to support tax cuts publicly because they don't want to be portrayed as Scrooges. You and I know it's BS, but that is their very successful avenue of attack. It's worked for them since the 80's, you know.
MM, I know we agree. The older and crankier I get, the less I am willing to let a fantasy go unaddressed even when popping the bubble hurts their feelings...especially when they want to "feel good" by taking my money and giving it to people they think deserve it more than me.

Now I ask you guys, is this a President or what? Bwahahaha!
Those career employees at State probably passed out. Good!
Liberal tears taste so sweet today and will be an ongoing gift throughout this Christmas holiday!
Tax reform passed:
- Tax rate reductions! Higher paychecks for working Americans starting in February!
- AMT penalty on middle class eliminated through higher exemption levels!
- State and Local Tax deductions limited. High tax blue states hardest hit!! They are free to lower state taxes to offset.
Bonuses:
- ANWR Drilling!
- Obamacare mandate gone! Now Obamacare is effectively gone!!!
Dems vote against taxpayers keeping more of their hard earned money and vote against job growth. Good luck in 2018!!!!
It's going to be a joyous Christmas for all working Americans!!!!!
That Politico article is interesting for another reason besides the perfidy of the Obama Administration's actions.
By publishing it, it indicates to me that there is worse stuff, that Politico has caught word of it through their contacts, and they realize they don't want to be hitched to the losing and possibly treasonous side.
President Trump isn't going to be impeached. By spring he will be extremely popular due to people seeing the money back in their pockets, and jobs will be available almost everywhere.
Iirc "high speed rail" was a BOzo fave, one of his "shovel ready" boondoggles promising "high paying jobs" that never materialized but beggared the country. BOzo's economic speech, at this time in his disastrous reign, debunked.
"Liberal tears taste so sweet today and will be an ongoing gift throughout this Christmas holiday"
We'll undo it in 2020. It's the second most unpopular piece of legislation in recorded history and will calcify Republicans image as the party of the rich. The gains the Middle-class will make will be so small they'll hardly be felt. But the perception of this aiding the rich will endure.
We take the House and the Senate and the Presidency by 2020 and undo it all.Every single fucking thing. It's simpler than you think. The New exploding brown demographic coupled with the memory of a White Supremacist President ensures a permanent Democratic majority in which we do things to you that will not be pleasant.
Sometimes when you win....you lose.
But I would enjoy this Christmas. 3 Years from now you'll need fond memories to keep you going.
No Dems voted for it? That's a mirror image of the Obamacare vote iirc on Dec. 23, 2009, while the BOzos were in HI for their 10 day Christmas holiday.
"SYRIAN OPPOSITION WEBSITE: SYRIAN REGIME DECEIVED UN INSPECTORS,..."
I can understand the Syrians deceiving the UN Inspectors. Don't we have the CIA and various other intelligence services to make sure the Syrians are unable to get away with deceiving us?
Congrats, by extension, maryrose.
I'm sure the tax bill is full of unneeded and counter productive items.
Nonetheless, a big first step! As the rust flakes off (as the Flake rusts off?) we all hope to see forward looking governance by both conservative and GOPe congress critters. There is a LOT of improvement available
This vote imo is a clear indication of what Rs heard from constituents. Msm claims that 2018 will be a disaster for Rs is hooey, except for renegades like Flake/Corker imo.
We'll undo it in 2020. It's the second most unpopular piece of legislation in recorded history
Only to the idiots stupid enough to believe everything the Democrats tell them to believe.
It really does boggle my mind how stupid Democrat voters can be. Who in their right mind is opposed to getting more money in their paychecks due to lower taxes?
I'll admit I was wrong about the Congress - they passed something that (while far from perfect) is a definite improvement. So credit where credit is due.
They can enjoy their achievement this afternoon, then back to work on items #2 through about #10,000 on the agenda.
Nay: 201 Americans who hate that other Americans might not have to give as much money to the federal government as they do now. These haters can all be replaced in 2018.
There is no reason to reelect a single one of them,IMO.
I'd like to explain in advance of him showing up why I blasted daddy the way I did on the previous thread. I thought he was in a unique position to defuse a situation that was getting uglier by the minute and didn't do so. I like daddy and think he's a good person; otherwise I wouldn't bother to write this. People I like are welcome to call me out if I do something they think I shouldn't have and leave undone some action I should have taken. daddy has my email if he wants to discuss this further.

German investment in the US is expected to rise by €39 billion because of lower US corporate taxes.
While Americans are anxiously awaiting full details of the tax bill now being finalized in Congress, German economists are warning that the changes sought by President Donald Trump mean that significant amounts of new investment and jobs will shift from Europe to the United States.
“The tax competition will have a new dimension,” said Christoph Spengel, chairman of the corporate tax department at the University of Mannheim. Mr. Spengel, who is also a research associate at the Center for European Economic Research, and a group of tax experts at the university have done a detailed comparison of the two countries’ tax systems and published a report under the heading, “Germany loses out in US tax reform.”
Clemens Fuest, who heads the Ifo economic think tank, also said he believed German business would suffer. “Investments and jobs will migrate to the US,” he said.

I can understand the Syrians deceiving the UN Inspectors. Don't we have the CIA and various other intelligence services to make sure the Syrians are unable to get away with deceiving us?

I'm sure the tax bill is full of unneeded and counter productive items.
Nonetheless, a big first step! As the rust flakes off (as the Flake rusts off?) we all hope to see forward looking governance by both conservative and GOPe congress critters. There is a LOT of improvement available

James "I'll admit I was wrong about the Congress"
No you weren't.
They didn't do it for us, they did it to save their necks.
But I'm glad they did it and do think good will come from it.

Good Morning! Moments ago on FOX, the Host asks this to Presidential Historian Doug Wead:
Host: I've got 30 seconds, Doug. Do you think Donald Trump is getting better at the job? Is he learning from his mistakes?
Prof Wead: You know, I wonder about that Ashley. Maybe I'm figuring him out a little bit better than I had. He may have been a little more calculated than I gave him credit for. But yeah, he's got a lot to brag about this first year, no question about it.
Host: He certainly does.
Sure seems like a lot of that going around lately:)

I support you as well.
With so many posters feeling extra stress and difficult times I advise kindness.
Personal friends and family should be treated carefully.
Hillary can be verbally abused at will.
Cheap shots at Paul Ryan are easy and in most cases false.
President Trump is praising Ryan and McConnell as I post this!
Let us start fresh and remember compassion and understanding can rule
the day.
