An interesting 'coulda shoulda woulda' on bitcoin from Brian Doherty of Reason:
In Search of the Elusive Bitcoin Billionaire
Bitcoin is booming. Libertarians were there first. So where are all the cryptocurrency tycoons?
I am not a bitcoin multimillionaire.
I could have been: I was aware of the cryptocurrency's existence in July 2010.
I should have been: Dozens of smart people with sympatico worldviews to my own eagerly explained to me how the creation of an online "blockchain"—a reliable yet anonymous ledger of transactions—had the potential to change the world.
And I would have been: Had I shelled out, say, $2,000 on this innovative, anti-inflationary currency even a lazy six weeks after I was introduced to it, today I would be sitting on 28,571 bitcoins, the equivalent at press time of over $212 million in cash.
But I didn't.
But his quest for those who did is entertaining. I should add, this is somewhat dated since Bitcoin was a mere $7,500 when published and is currently bounding about above $15,000.
I could have bought tulips, but was born too late.

I read Erik Prince's testimony where Schiff tells him "You don't determine when this hearing ends" after Prince says he's getting tired of their fishing expedition and he's leaving. Prince reminds Schiff he's there voluntarily says "Yeah, I do" It's pretty entertaining if you've got some time.
And Schiff and CNN bitching about Jr's claiming privilege with his father about the set-up meeting in Trump tower - he's answering voluntarily. Schiff can't do a fu*kin thing. Leadership just said they are satisfied with his answers. Maybe Schiff can go to kinko's and get a "Mr Schiffs Subpoena" printed up. How fu*king stupid is this guy?
And Manafort's going to walk - in a $10,000 suit - just like the Teflon Don. # Russia Joke

The concept of bitcoin is its absolute security via the blockchain scheme.
However, when a company can have tens of millions of mined bitcoins hacked right out from under them, the security seems less than absolute. And unlike theft of regular currency, the blockchain seems to make solving and resolving the theft possibly problematic.

A dozen "faith leaders" who held a sit-in at the Portland office of Susan Collins were arrested after ten hours. The perps included a Rabbi,Quaker,Buddhist leader and a UU minister. They sang "this little light of mine" as the police led them out of the office. They are upset about her vote for the tax bill. Several of the clergy are retired, but are well known liberal activists.

Clarice - did you forget dismembered?
Just think how how much would have been discovered about the Amran family scandal if a similar coven of expert lawyers been assigned.

Killing time before Midsomer Murder at 9, I flip over to Laura Ingraham's new show which I had not heretofore watched. So who's her guest? Wesley Effing Clark. With an embarrassingly bad combover. Sound was muted but I still felt the urge to vomit up my pizza and Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino.
In other news, my wife's mother's little Pomeranian, Buddy, died this morning. I love my MIL, but she was at our house for dinner the night we lost Biscuit, waxing philosophical about humans outliving pets (with a 'tini under her belt) and generally saying things we all knew but didn't necessarily need to hear that night. Neither of us mentioned she might be facing the same situation at some point, because what the hell.
