The Hill presents it as news but they cannot possibly think this will shock or surprise anyone:
Congressional investigators find irregularities in FBI's handling of Clinton email case
Republicans on key congressional committees say they have uncovered new irregularities and contradictions inside the FBI’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server.
For the first time, investigators say they have secured written evidence that the FBI believed there was evidence that some laws were broken when the former secretary of State and her top aides transmitted classified information through her insecure private email server, lawmakers and investigators told The Hill.
That evidence includes passages in FBI documents stating the “sheer volume” of classified information that flowed through Clinton’s insecure emails was proof of criminality as well as an admission of false statements by one key witness in the case, the investigators said.
False statements? Please. For a false statement to be lead to a criminal it needs to be both false and material to the investigation. Since nothing anyone said was ever going to lead to charges or an indictment, no false statement could be material. Duh.
Some bright lights have managed to pierce the fog:
Some Republicans on the committee say the findings and revelations have left them more convinced than ever that FBI leadership rigged the outcome to clear Clinton.
“This was an effort to pre-bake the cake, pre-bake the outcome,” said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), a House Judiciary Committee member who attended the McCabe briefing before the holidays. “Hillary Clinton obviously benefited from people taking actions to ensure she wasn’t held accountable.”
Say what? The Democratic-led DoJ couldn't even mount an objective investigation into the behavior of the former Secretary of State turned Democratic Party Presidential front-runner?

There is nothing Trump can do -- including destroying several major US cities that would cause the wing nuts here to change their mind.

I like Matt's suggestion at the end of the last thread. Hit them with RICO and take away everything they own, their homes, cars, boats, pensions and book deals. There's only one way the FBI can earn back any respect at all and that's to make those at the top responsible pay dearly for their crimes.

Way late, way behind, so apologies if already posted but this Daily Mail story on Mueller's Grand Jury reminds me of another Mark Twain quote on our Jury System:
Twain: The jury system puts a ban upon intelligence and honesty, and a premium upon ignorance, stupidity and perjury. It is a shame that we must continue to use a worthless system because it was good a thousand years ago...I desire to tamper with the jury law.
Here's the Daily Mail story: Mueller grand jury room 'looks like a Bernie Sanders rally' claims Russia probe witness who says two jurors wore 'peace t-shirts'
A witness who testified before a federal grand jury that handed down indictments of top Trump associates says the president can't get a fair shake and compared the jury room to a Bernie Sanders rally.
The witness claimed two of 20 jurors were wearing 'peace T-shirts,' and popped off on the jury pool to the New York Post's Page Six.
'The grand jury room looks like a Bernie Sanders rally,' the witness said. 'Maybe they found these jurors in central casting, or at a Black Lives Matter rally in Berkeley,' said the witness
.
'There was only one white male in the room, and he was a prosecutor,' said the source...
That room isn't a room where POTUS gets a fair shake,' said the source, using shorthand common in the White House for and D.C. insiders for the president.
More Twain: We have a criminal jury system which is superior to any in the world; and its efficiency is only marred by the difficulty of finding twelve men every day who don't know anything and can't read.

It amazes me how Republicans simply do not respect law and Order. They continually attack, belittle and demean the men and women who put their lives on the line daily to protect all Americans from harm.
Republicans have launched an endless assault on the F.B.I,THE C.I.A,the N.S.A............all in an effort to protect a man whose intent is to weaken the United States of America,Vladmir Putin.Republicans adore Vladmir Putin.
And here's how you know people like Tom Maguire are shitting their pants on a daily basis.....if Trump truly were innocent of any wrong doing there wouldn't need to be this barage of conspiracy theories and fake scandals thrown out with the express intent of derailing the investigation.
Republicans need to derail the investigation into collusion with Russia because THEY KNOW TRUMP IS HIDING SOMETHING.
Trump said he fired Comey to make the "Russher" investigation go away.....BECAUSE HE HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE.You don't fire the lead investigator investigating you because you have nothing to hide.
Are you scared yet? You should be.

Catsmeat,
Just caught up to your 07:42 and really enjoyed Chesterton's comments that I had never read before:
The only words that ever satisfied me as describing Nature are the terms used in the fairy books, "charm," "spell," "enchantment." They express the arbitrariness of the fact and its mystery. A tree grows fruit because it is a magic tree. Water runs downhill because it is bewitched. The sun shines because it is bewitched.
He sounds a bit like the young Darwin's effusive praise of Humboldt's marvelous descriptions of his travels in the jungles of South America, fueling young Charle's wanderlust, yet I'm certain GCK was also well aware of the Poet Keats taking offense at Isaac Newton for his optical experiments in "unweaving the rainbow." Dawkin's took that as the name and starting point for one of his books I enjoyed.
Have you by chance read Richard Holme's, The Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science
I thought it a great read as it showed how some of the great Brit poets and the Science boys played off and with each other to mutual benefit and discovery in that very exciting age.

On Topic! Hannity has on John Solomon, the author of the Hill Piece TM linked and pasted from above. Sean quotes from Solomon's Hill piece then lets Solomon reply:
Hannity:...One Congressman saying the whole thing was rigged, rigged to exonerate her, and not having equal justice under the Law. Explain.
John Solomon: Yeah, you're exactly right. These members of Congress had got a briefing just before the Holidays and this sort of was a cannon load of new information to them... Let's just put it in the context of Russia. If Bob Mueller had exonerated Donald Trump before he had interviewed 17 Key Witnesses there'd be an outcry in Washington. If Bob Mueller had learned that a Key witness had destroyed evidence that was under Subpoena, then lied about it, to conceal that fact that he destroyed it, and instead of prosecuting that person they gave him immunity, we'd be in outrage in Washington. Thats what happened in this case. Lawmakers who got this briefing from Deputy Director McCabe on the 21st of December, were just floored by the level of criminality and concern the FBI had in the outcome. If you'd read the statement from Comey you'd swear they were exonerating her. These lawmakers felt like the FBI had plenty of evidence to prosecute her.
Posted by: daddy | January 03, 2018 at 01:45 AM
Then Sara Carter commented about a bit what she knows, and she must have contacts with field agents.
Hannity: ...(Rhetorically) No, we don't like if you're rigging the Justice system for political purposes to help one candidate over another. Isn't that what this is about?
Sara: Sean, it's not just the Congressional members that were surprised by this. Look, the FBI themselves, the FBI field Agents who were working on these cases, not the people on the 7th Floor, not McCabe, not Comey, not Gattis, all these guys on the 7th Floor that were in control of this investigation. But the people that were on the ground collecting the information, were just as angry, were just as angry as the Congressional members were at learning what John reported. We know that there is so much more out there. We know that there is concern that McCabe may have obstructed Justice...this is slowly trickling out...I'm sure we are going to hear more information from the Inspector General, but there was concern within the FBI , so this is not about badmouthing the FBI, this is about the FBI cleansing itself. This is what FBI Agents want to do, both retired and members who are still working there.

I am going to repost what matt wrote towards the end of the previous thread as it is very well said on a crucial issue.
The Hill is reporting that Congress now has hard evidence that FBI officials were exchanging e mails about the criminality of Clinton's e mails and the vast scope of her deception.
And then we have the coverup by Comey and numerous John Doe's so far.The coverup is becoming ever more apparent. Did they think they wouldn't get caught?
This is much worse than anything that has ever occurred in our history.
We have a Secretary of State who brazenly, recklessly, and criminally avoided the proper protocols and OPSEC laws and regulations governing her top secret communications. We then have her bitbeaching and smashing hard drives and cell phones that were under subpoena, for chrissake.
We then have what can only now be described as a conspiracy within the FBI and DoJ to subvert justice and protect an insider.
Between what is going on with the phony dossier and the 3 card monty the Times is trying to pull; the ever flimsier bases for the FISA warrants, Samantha Powers and Susan Rice's criminal violations of security firewalls, and what is now coming out about Uranium One and the pure greed of the Clintons, I don't know how several of them not do hard time.
And this goes all the way to the top. Only Obama and the Ferret could have allowed the backdoor communications networks, the wholesale violations of the 4th Amendment, and the wide scale violation of security.
A good attorney can now connect an awful lot of dots that I would say amount to both proof of criminal conspiracy and RICO crimes.
This is not protected by national security. It is a wholesale violation of national security for criminal purposes.
Tarring Trump with a crazy ass dossier didn't work. Gloria Allred and her millions of donated dirty Democrat dollars and her tramp camp didn't work. The dirty tricks didn't work. Clinton makes Nixon look like the kid who stole a Snickers bar from the corner store, and Obama is right behind her.

I will add to matt's point that abc network news last night accentuated its role in the deep state apparatus by making the lead story after the weather trump's tweet about the deep state and how the tweet implies delusions about dc and support for 'conspiracy theories.'
A knowledge of the facts makes the media itself clearly a vast coordination of desired memes and a coverup of unfortunate ones as matt laid out.
cecelia vega and david muir had on their most serious faces as they tut-tuted about any belief in a deep state while simultaneously verifying their roles in the apparatus. Neither seems capable of appreciating the irony of their narrative.

All this leaked House G2 Comm. stuff is the equivalent of “war drums”. Something is about to break.

Good assessment.

We are supposed toget more snow today. Fox said a stretch of interstate near Talahassee was closed due to ICE.
I am ready for spring!

trump's tweet about the deep state and how the tweet implies delusions about dc and support for 'conspiracy theories.'
That's a convenient fallacy for the left. The Deep State need not involve conspiracy, just a lot of people with vested interests in the status quo, and in covering up their crimes and abuses. It's like saying belief in the Mafia or MS-13 implies support for conspiracy theories.

I'm sitting at McDonald's watching Floridians do what I did this morning -- take a picture of the ice. This week is gonna freak us out.

jimmy-that's why the word collusion when it is demonstrable is a much more accurate term.
It's also why I usually retort to someone calling me a 'conspiracy theorist', that I never talk or write about a coordinated effort unless I can prove it. Then it is not a theory and since it is provable, we ought to be able to discuss it.
Like 'fake news',
conspiracy theory is an attempt to obfuscate bad facts from public view. It's also why the same story belittled the huma abedin tweet.

Such respect for the people of Iran as they try to take back their corrupt government. You will see great support from the United States at the appropriate time!

Looks like I got out of Florida just in time. Pretty darn cold in Texas, though.
Jor is just thumbsucking because 2018 is off to a great start. Farewell, Al Franken - your journey from stealing the election to resigning in disgrace was mostly forgettable. Enjoy your MSNBC gig.

I haven't been following things nearly closely enough, so I'm wondering - has Steve Bannon gone full retard or what? Shouldn't his wonderful Roy Moore pick move him towards some quiet contemplation of how helpful he's really being?

Good Morning! The daughter and son-in-law arrived home safely. Interstate 10 east of Tallahassee is closed because of ice. The northeast will be shut down tomorrow. A winter hurricane. I worry about Maine, because the late October wind storm was devastating, but at least it was warm. Central Maine Power said the restoration costs from the wind storm will top $15M.
