https://hotair.com/archives/2018/01/02/the-return-of-the-mooch/

The former White House communications director has privately told friends and associates that the president and other members of the Trump family, including White House adviser and first daughter Ivanka Trump, miss him and want him back in the West Wing. Three sources close to Scaramucci have independently told The Daily Beast that the Mooch continues to brag that he and President Donald Trump talk on the phone, and that the Mooch believes his resurrection in Trump-world could be imminent. One of these sources said that the Mooch claimed he was flying out to either Washington, D.C. or Mar-a-Lago early this month to meet Trump to talk about it.

There are several major hurdles the Mooch must clear before all systems are a go. Most serious among them: Trump himself doesn’t appear to be on board. In fact, it’s not clear if President Trump, or Ivanka, is even in touch with the sacked comms director.

Extraneus
Scaramucci, for his part, denied that he’s been telling people at all about a Trump administration resuscitation.

“[T]his is absolute nonsense,” he said in text messages to The Daily Beast. “Happy new year [and] be well. I have said nothing like that at all…Don’t believe BS.”

Old Lurker

Jack, I maintain the Ledge stocked at 100% because of essentially two beliefs, both of which you have expressed in the last week or two:

1. It IS Trump's FBI, DoJ, CIA, NSA, DIA et al and has been for 51 weeks.

2. You and I both date our DC time, like Clarice, back to the early 70's. In all that time, I don't think I can recall a single IG Report which has done more than punish flunkies while protecting all founding members of the Club.

THAT SAID...

1. Trump knows that.

2. Sessions knows that.

3. Competing priorities could account for a 90-120 day delay, but hardly anything except a grand plan would seem to account for an entire year, more if you start counting back to the campaign when Trump discovered they were tapping his phones.

4. So. RG & MM might just be right in which case the Flash Bangs will be seen soon.

Or not.

But, like the liquid assets in Lyle's cellar, the inventory on the Ledge does not decline in value over time.

The Associated Press could not make it to noon on New Year's Day before posting the first Fake News of 2018. ... At 10:24 a.m., it tweeted: "Pence visit to Israel postponed again, no reason given."

The Associated Press did not wait for a comment from the White House -- or Pence's office. For some reason, AP felt it needed to urgently tell people at 8:15 a.m. on a holiday morning that OMG the vice president has inexplicably postponed his trip again.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Old Lurker,

I still think my theory (about finding something so indisputably bad that there can be no arguing about the need to prosecute) is the right one.

As you know, I frequent a lot of sites on the internet, some more conspiracy-oriented than others. I am still wondering about those sealed indictments, which DO exist, but we don't know what they are for. For example, some could be for MS-13 gang members, which we know Sessios was going after.

There are some wild cards in the mix. What has been discovered in the questioning of Prince Talwal, who was a big donor to the Clinton Foundation?

The Haitians are none too happy with Clinton either, and there are rumors about the money they diverted from Haiti after the earthquake. (How evil do you have to be to steal from the poorest people in this hemisphere?)

Other avenues of prosecution might be profiting from drug or arms dealing or child trafficking. Also, let's not forget North Korea and uranium.

Like I said, the prosecution will have to be for an easily understandable bad crime with evidence making it an open and shut case.

We will see.

By the way, there seems to be an undercurrent of panic about the Iranian protests in the Clinton/Obama camps. One wonders what communications they had with the mullahs. It would be such a shame if that came to light.

Your typepad cookie would include the stuff you've typed into the name, email and websute URL textboxes below the comment box. This is how the site remembers you the next time you visit. Commie sworn in to second term as NYC mayor.

“What’s been hardest is the way our legal system is structured to favor private property. I think people all over this city, of every background, would like to have the city government be able to determine which building goes where, how high it will be, who gets to live in it, what the rent will be,” de Blasio told New York Magazine in September 2017.

“I think there’s a socialistic impulse, which I hear every day, in every kind of community, that they would like things to be planned in accordance to their needs,” de Blasio said. “And I would, too.”

De Blasio went on to say that it is unfortunate the law stands in the way of “hundreds of years of history” of Americans having the right to private property.

“Unfortunately, what stands in the way of that is hundreds of years of history that have elevated property rights and wealth to the point that that’s the reality that calls the tune on a lot of development,” de Blasio said.

The solution to fixing housing and other perceived ills in the city, according to de Blasio, is to rid itself of exclusionary private property rights.

“Look, if I had my druthers, the city government would determine every single plot of land, how development would proceed. And there would be very stringent requirements around income levels and rents. That’s a world I’d love to see, and I think what we have, in this city at least, are people who would love to have the New Deal back, on one level,” de Blasio told New York Magazine.

“They’d love to have a very, very powerful government, including a federal government, involved in directly addressing their day-to-day reality.”

De Blasio promised Monday at his second swearing in as New York City mayor to usher the city into a “new progressive era” that will spread beyond the city’s “borders.”

Private property?
Like the promise of which drained Italy of something like 70% of its population over 80 years to come here?
No hope of owning a thing there, as the Medicis et. al. had divided up the entire country centuries before.

Why live somewhere where the sun shines nearly every day, food grows year round, and olives and grapes and lemons are hanging off trees and vines everywhere, when you can move to Gloversville, NY, where it's subzero today, and work in a factory?

PRIVATE PROPERTY, that's why! The chance to own some for yourself.
Many of those factory workers became homeowners, had a kitchen garden where they grew their own tomatoes and grapes and zucchini and eggplant, sent their kids to high school and beyond, and lived very satisfied lives.

MSNBC Reporter Refers to Iran’s Support of Hezbollah, Assad as ‘Endeavors’

"There is truth that the Iranian people did not reap the benefits of what was supposed to be a windfall of money, and that has been a consistent argument made by American critics of the Iran nuclear deal, that the money that the Iran government was going to receive was probably going to be diverted and used in those endeavors in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen," Mohyeldin said.

Iran's "endeavors" in those countries include bolstering dictator Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian civil war, supporting the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah, and supplying missiles to Houthi rebels in Yemen.

"Ayman, does the president have a point here, that the sanctions relief that was given through the Iran nuclear deal doesn't seem to have filtered down to the people on the streets of Iran? Is that because it hasn't filtered down yet, and it will do, we just need to give it more time, or is it just that it's being diverted into military programs and Syria, for example?" Kay asked.

"Yeah, I think it's a blend of both," Mohyeldin said. "There's no doubt that Iran has been engaged in costly endeavors, both in Syria …in Yemen, it supports Hezbollah in Lebanon. All of that is a drain on the resources of the state."

Captain Hate

1. Using the massive powers of the Feds to obtain and keep control over all US citizens.

2. Selling our Uranium to Russia for cash in secret Clinton bank accounts.

3. Selling access to all of our secrets to our enemies for private gain.

4. Transferring billions to enemies like Iran so they can use it to kill Americans.

5. Conspiring with our global enemies to destroy the standing of the US in the eyes of the world, eliminate our borders and sovereignty, and otherwise erase our Constitution and Founding Documents.

Just off the top of my head.

Also this, which I hadn't heard about:

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is set to rule on Janus vs. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. Based on a similar case from a few years ago, it's likely the Court will rule that all government workers (state, local and federal) will have a choice to pay union dues, or not. We know from experience that, when given a choice, many workers stop supporting the political activities of unions. This would be another force significantly altering the balance of power.

Sailor cited by Trump as evidence of Hillary Clinton double standard now works as garbage man

Saucier, 31, was released from prison in September after receiving a one-year sentence for mishandling classified information. With a felony conviction, he now works up to 70 hours a week collecting garbage in Vermont.

“Obviously with his tweet today he still recognizes my case, so hopefully he will do something about it. I think my family and I have been punished enough," Saucier told the Washington Examiner. "I made an innocent mistake as a kid, it wasn’t planned like Hillary Clinton and them blatantly flouting the law."

The home where Saucier lives with his wife and two-year-old daughter is in foreclosure and credit card debt collectors call frequently. His cars were repossessed while he was in prison and the family has a payment plan for their electricity bill.

Because he has an other-than-honorable discharge, Saucier doesn’t get veteran benefits, including disability payments for service-related injuries. He wears an ankle monitor until April.

But most frustratingly to Saucier, a felony record makes finding a job difficult.

“We’re struggling,” he said. “No one will hire me because I’m a felon ... All the skills I worked so hard for in the military are useless.”
