Michael Goodwin summarizes the "too big to believe" drama and trauma at the FBI and DoJ - did they really cover for Hillary and target Trump?
Gee, let's see - did anyone honestly ever think that the Democratic DoJ would mount a serious effort against their party's Presidential front-runner and establishment darling? The idea that Loretta Lynch knew, or said, or was told that 'the fix is in' is about as surprising as suggesting she knew the sun rose in the East. EVERYONE knew the fix was in - meetings and memos not needed.
As to the FBI abusing FISA or deleting texts, or anything else, well, that is outrageous but... Trump is an outlier in terms of being so outside the political establishment. A more conventional Republican would have found some institutional support among the lifers at the FBI. But Trump? There might have been plenty of Bush-era holdovers who had no use for the guy and were happy to stand back and watch their partisan counterparts do their evil thing.
Or maybe this is all just hype to distract us from Trump's collusion with Putin. Maybe! Unless and until Tom Brady has a twinge on some other body part this will be the story to watch.
PILING ON: Andrew McCarthy details Obama's urgency about hiding his own complicity in Hillary's private email system.
MOrning, all!

Willowed.
You're probably right Henry and it'll be infuriating. The people involved in this are the ones deserving the Plouffe prescription - "destroyed and never rise again".
Seriously, these people were working to overthrow the government - not the Trump administration, but the system itself. Doesn't that rate bullets as punishment?
Posted by: Another Bob | January 24, 2018 at 08:15 AM
James, my reference to Henry was his view that nobody gets charged with anything more than obstruction of justice (for things like missing texts and refusal to turn over materials). Nobody gets charged with anything related to the actual crimes.

Note: the fix is still in. Not one pension under threat so far. McCarthy at NR is the wind vane to measure by -- he gives "Conservative" permission to let it all slide. "Just words." Oh I forgot, Elmer is perp walking the universe in his dreams... Nonsense. Elmer is fully occupied with drug gangs and encryption back doors to all your private data -- then he knows which of your assets to snag through forfeiture. Efemall.

On thought for all you Fudd backers: the IG knew that texts were missing back in October (roughly). Elmer decided to investigate the gap this week. Asleep at his post at a minimum. Burying the crime under the "can't talk about active investigations" pillow until Trump is gone seems more likely.

Democratic Trump
"Senate Democrats are facing trouble in 2018 because so many of them happened to get elected during the 2012 Democratic wave when lots of Obama’s Coalition of the Fringes could be cajoled to show up for the glamour of the presidential election. In contrast, 2018 will be an off-year election, like 2010 and 2014, when solid-citizen Republicans normally make up a larger share of those who bother to vote."
Makes sense to me.

anonamom,
I will refrain from posting from iffy sources if someone can give me a list of sources I can count on. Other than the Daily Caller and the Washington Examiner, I am at a loss.
The thing is, some of these places HAVE discovered stuff and have been ignored unless the information is picked up by a more reputable place.
The article detailing why this went back to Obama due to him being involved in the emails is one example. This was not a surprise to me because I personally believe that this was actually a plot by OBAMA and Hillary just got wrapped up in it. He didn't give a damn where she had her emails or if foreign sources were involved (see Awan brothers and the Hezbollah drug ring).
This was an attempt to frame Trump for when he LOST the election, so that he could be "not only defeated but destroyed, so that his kind shall not rise again" as outlined ON TWITTER by David Plouffe.
Obama despised Trump and knew that with Hillary in charge, they could manufacture evidence to their heart's content and that the press wouldn't question one damn thing they did.
Given that these agents apparently had messages expressing hatred for Trump's family and a desire to destroy his businesses, I believe that this is what was going on. They had to change plans when Trump won and hope they could somehow either throw the electoral college or get him impeached.
It hasn't worked, and now that we are a year in and not only has Trump not failed, he has done spectacularly well. The longer this goes on with more stuff dripping out, the less virtuous Obama and Clinton will look.
When you have sitting representatives posting threads on Twitter to get the message out over the heads of the media, there is something big there.
I therefore am going to continue to post stuff that may or may not have a kernel of truth in it. What I WILL do is post in bold letters at the top IFFY SOURCE and people who are looking for stuff that is 100% accurate and guaranteed can scroll on by.

http://dailysignal.com/2017/08/15/obama-holdovers-still-in-key-national-security-council-jobs/
This is by The Heritage Foundation's publication.
Here is my problem: anyone who saw McMaster's passionate defense of Trump yesterday at the press briefing can have no doubt that he is 100% on board with Trump.
So the question is the following: 1. ARE all of these oldovers still there, or did Heritage get bad information. 2. If they are holdovers, are they peole whose first loyalty is to Obama or to national security? 3. I note in this article the effort to once again go after McMaster. Why?
This is a perfect example of how a publication which seems reputable can go off the mark (or maybe not). This is why it is hard to "filter" what I post, and why I will go ahead and post something even if I am not sure.

Court Rules That IRS Violated Constitution
True the Vote Now Seeks Legislative Action to End IRS Weaponization
HOUSTON, TX - January 24, 2018 - True the Vote’s lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service has resulted in a consent decree outlining egregious conduct by the agency. In the decree, United States District Judge Reggie Walton declared “discrimination on the basis of political viewpoint in administering the United States tax code violates fundamental First Amendment Rights.”
“Our consent decree is a stringent admonishment of the IRS’s admitted discrimination,” said True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht, “but much more is needed to ensure that IRS employees engaging in unconstitutional conduct will face real, actionable penalties. We are working together with Senator John Cornyn, who will introduce legislation to ensure the rights of Americans are protected from rogue government employees whose discrimination and abuse has now been well documented in our court case.
I applaud the tireless efforts of our lawyers, in particular, James Bopp, who led the charge in this groundbreaking effort.”

Deb, our "premier investigative agencies" have a pretty horrendous track record over, oh, the last several decades or so.
They missed "lone wolves" like the Orlando shooter and the Boston bombers. They missed major plots like 9/11. They missed finding myriad high-level, long-term moles. They missed the whole freaking collapse of the Soviet Union.

Conservatives have long accused the Democrats of engaging in voter registration fraud and voting fraud by way of absentee ballots. Assuming (key word is assume) the Democrats do indeed engage in widespread fraud using absentee ballots, the senior FBI/DOJ officials who were all part of this 'secret society" likely just believed there was no way Hillary could lose because they knew how widespread and successful their absentee ballot fraud was.

This is a pretty good essay about the media and how they will NOT walk back their coverage, but will double down on some other esplanation.
However, he does NOT go into something I believe to be lurking in the shadows, and that is that I believe reporters are being paid for a certain viewpoint.
I want to see Fusion GPS records. I want to know if they were not only paying reporters for information, but if they were feeding them information and paying them to write stories with their preferred viewpoint. (The Russia hoax being the most likely.)
If you think about it, until Trump looked to be the nominee he got a LOT of coverage. Before he declared as a candidate, he was the darling of every interview show. What made the change in the press's attitude?

They missed "lone wolves" like the Orlando shooter and the Boston bombers.
Don't forget the San Bernadino clusterfuck when they didn't secure the perp's apartment. There've been so many that they blend together with time but in one they completely lost track of the perp's girlfriend/wife who was a person of interest.
With assholes like Strzok and his gummy bear playing Samsung tag all fucking day, this lack of professionalism shouldn't be surprising.

well phil haney, who jeh eased out of his slot, noted that a whole series of plots were tied to one outfit, which doesn't just operate in the states, but in Europe and the middle east,
the information that glenn beck was sued about came from haney's shop, the national targeting center,

I wish the WH briefing room had a large front section labeled "reporters", a smaller middle section labeled "penalty box" that occasional fake newsers rotate in and out of, and a back row labeled "leper colony" for irredeemables like Jim Acosta.

Why is the official line from the FBI that Strzok was removed due to critical comments about Trump?
He was the Number Two Counterintelligence Officer. He completely compromised himself and the Office by engaging in an extramarital affair. Why didn't he face any discipline for THAT?
Why weren't any of his superiors removed for being unaware of the affair?

Louis Gohmert was just on Fox and he said one of their biggest mistakes was not enforcing the contempt charge on Eric Holder.
He also sounded highly concerned and said that the Department of Justice cannot be allowed to become the Department of Just Us.
He wants those text messages and he wants to know what in the heck is going on at the FBI.

However, he does NOT go into something I believe to be lurking in the shadows, and that is that I believe reporters are being paid for a certain viewpoint.
I think pretty much all members of the leftwing media are hardcore true believers in the progressive movement. Progressivism is just another Marxist-based ideology that their adherents do whatever it takes to avoid admitting.
The progressive movement in America has learned the fastest and easiest way to become wealthy is thru political corruption. The Clintons are the role model for that. With the millions and perhaps even billions of dollars getting exchanged to ensure the success of the political corruptness, its not a stretch to assume the media members who assist the corrupt politicians are getting their slice of the payola.
