Thankfully both those morons have been fired.

Frau,
Your question to Janet is a good one. Obviously, legislative oversight hasn't worked, since partisan influences protect people one way or the other.
I wonder if the Inspector General law revision will help. Maybe we will get a better idea after the IG's findings are released on the 15th.
Otherwise, I favor citizen groups from both sides of the aisle, targeting anyone who abuses power. And there is no doubt both sides do it for political advancement. Maybe keeping these people from running for office, like someone suggested earlier today, is an additional prevention.

Just catching up and have a question - Was Fox the only channel that carried the impromptu press conference?
I figure if President Trump looked good and "sane" and in charge, the MSM will try to keep it hidden or edit it - perhaps showing his crossed arms and adding their own commentary.
They are absolutely the enemy! No doubt about it.

I don't blame Bannon for feeling that way. Politics is a tough business. However, he's a smart guy and will learn lessons and find his way.

The only way to get gov't employees to behave is to publicly string some of them up. Metaphorically, of course.
All the low-level perpetrators we know about should do jail time, as they watch the big shots skate. Then the drones will realize that they're the ones with actual risk.
That could have an effect.

My position on DACA is that they should be given green cards, no vote. Should they want citizenship they need to demonstrate proficiency in English, have a clean arrest record, take citizenship classes, and pass a test.
No blanket amnesty.
I think that is fair. It protects them from deportation as long as they don't get in trouble with the law, and many of them won't bother with the classes for citizenship. Those that do will have earned the right.
Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | January 09, 2018 at 06:48 PM
If that truly comes from Bannon, he is positioning himself as a martyr, and the next step will be to position himself as a critic or perhaps even an opponent.
Maybe he was playing multidimensional chess and the plan was to have Trump sound unhinged over a book written by a liar.

I read the Sharpe series start to finish. One wouldn't think that it would interest me, but I have a longtime interest in the Regency and the era of the Napoleonic Wars from reading Austin, Georgette Heyer, Patricia Veryan, and other novelists.
In their books they often have military men home on leave, sometimes shaken by what they have seen.
I thought it was time I learned about the military history as well as the social one. The Sharpe's series was simply riveting, and I learned a lot about warfare of that era and the hardships the men went through.
I highly recommend it!

Many of us showed up in DC in 2009 to show our concern. It is difficult for most to be moved to action or able to finance protest. Many are unable to travel to DC or a state capital to demonstrate. At present, our (my) CA senators seldom reflect the people of the entire state. Our elected officials strive to protect the Deep State. A small group of Hollywood misfits appear in the daily news and represent me. I feel letters to the editor cannot influence the public. This must be the way Austrians felt during the Biedermeier period. They remained quiet and sheltered in place because they had no power.

Ne: Same thing they did to Bobby Knight. They like to destroy stuff that makes people feel good.
Black guy: Bobby Knight? He's an extremist! An extremist!
Me: No he's not. Maybe a jerk. I won't argue with that.
Black guy: Yes he is an extremist!
Me: Has IU won a big championship since he left? He was a good coach.

Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch joins Lou Dobbs to discuss the news of the Day.No big revelations dammit, thanks to Lou turning into Sean Hannity:(
Lou: ...How incriminating do you believe these texts (Strzok-Page) to be, and how in the world did we ever get a hold of them?
Farrell: We got a hold of the texts because of Judicial watch litigation...the text messages today show that they (Strzok-Page) were first of all leaking and then synchronizing their story to both the WSJ and the NYTimes and perhaps others, and that is a level of Investigative misconduct and abuse of process that is off the charts.
Lou: And it is a crime?
Farrell:It is.
Lou: Do we expect there to be a prosecution?
Farrell: One would certainly hope so...When you have Federal Agents at this level, and one of whom is an Attorney who has an extra duty or obligation above and beyond even what an ordinary citizen would have, they know what they are doing. They are kind of teasing, joking, flirting back and forth about "Hey, the WSJ article is behind the paywall. Should we play dumb about that?"
Lou: Stunning...the Insurance Policy?
Farrell: That is, in my interpretation...to use the Dossier smear job to get FISA permission to spy on Trump Officials...
Lou: Glen Simpson...Dianne Feinstein obliged him today.
Farrell: She did. Part of me is almost relieved. In my opinion get all this stuff out in public. The cockroaches hate sunlight. The guy is going to play a double game where he does one thing in front of the Committee, and then he goes to the NYTimes and runs an OpEd "Oh, I want my story released." I think the most telling thing out of that transcript, and people have latched on to it, that claim that someone was killed. Realize this, that was not Testimony, That was Simpson's Attorney, a very sharp guy by the name of Joshua Levy, and he was jumping in to object to Simpson's saying ...(Lou interrupts damn it so Farrell's point is never finished, carp) segment ends.
--------------------
So the takeaway is that the comment about the dead guy did not come from Simpson's testimony, it came from one of his Lawyers doing some butt-covering, narrative crafting.

I would like to offer a point to think about.
What if the legalization of illegal aliens isn't because they will vote democrat, but rather to provide a reason for fake vote counts?
We accept that inner-city blacks vote democrat like lemmings. What if not all of them do, but the dems fake the votes and excuse it by saying the blacks all vote dem?
So, as blacks get more vocal about wanting some help from dems, the black vote will be less useful as an excuse for the fraud. Legalizing illegal Mexicans would provide a new excuse.
This is why I favor green cards without automatic citizenship.

Yes, narciso, certainly, and Marx has Engels, the spoiled heir of a factory magnate, to support him. Just as the 50s were the most fortunate time, after the "hungry forties," they were also the incubator of many very bad and (to far too many) attractive ideas. I do think Eliot almost got religion by the end--the wickedness and selfishness of her partner (NOT husband) George Henry Lewes may have helped. See Daniel Deronda.

But being a white male or conservative is obviously beyond the pale. Why couldn't the fledgling dragon/ornate building just find a better therapist and not rule the universe at Google? Note to all: there are no plural beings, just mental cases.

The String Theory eggheads initially thought there were 10 or 11 Dimensions, but then settled on a nice round 26 Dimensions:
Wiki: One notable feature of string theories is that these theories require extra dimensions of spacetime for their mathematical consistency. In bosonic string theory, spacetime is 26-dimensional, while in superstring theory it is 10-dimensional, and in M-theory it is 11-dimensional.

On the job remains the one place that I still read books, so it is going to be challenging when I have to retire in 2 years to see if I figure out a way to keep my book reading habits alive.

narciso, Middlemarch gets rewarding at the end as all the chickens come home to roost and Dorothea gets a happy ending (Eliot always killed off the abusive husbands, because in real life she couldn't do the same to Lewes).

This dossier has more lives than rasputin, of course Ben Smith is vouching for it, the Russian he defamed will be glad to have his office.
It does seem to follow that the other dimension would be manjfestatiin of the original three.

I still can't get over the ending of Eliot's The Mill on the Floss. I was five pages from the end and thought "how can this possibly get wrapped up?" Then it started raining.

Back on the iPad. Couldn't stay away.
I remain convinced the Dems planned to destroy Trump after they won, and when their Doom came upon them, they concocted this whole dossier thing to excuse their plot against him.
If you ask me, divine intervention saved him and us. I believe my prayers were answered.

It is striking how they can't imagine any view outside their own

Does "Universe dimensions" have anything to do with the swimsuit competition?
TK,
Here's a quick lecture on String Bikini Theory.
"Hey, where'd that new ad on the side of JOM's homepage come from?"

Dems plan all black fashion statement at SOTU.
Appropriate since Trump will be there to bury, not praise them.
Doubly appropriate since it's about 90/10 progs doing the harassing.

Oops! daddy, I am totally stealing "bum gouge."
Careful Porch.
Over the years that expression has morphed into something pretty obscene.

Thank you, ..Clarice, for the info ...it's becoming obtuse--all the breaking of laws, oaths, moral conscience by political appointees or paid character assasins, ...people need to be isolated from free fair democratic society , when such abuses of power occur!!!
And I don't mean the adulterous Page/Strozk minions, even the caricature of a spook--Steele, et al ....I mean Comey, McCabe, Lynch, Ohr, Carlin, Obama ( no, he did not find out about this by reading a paper), Clinton's and Glenn Simpyson.
The huddled masses aren't going to sit and forgive their sins, when we all paid our tickets, even took our medicine in court...for teeny things compared to their perfidy! Praying tonight for Lady Justice, in pants, with a southern drawl, Truman spectacles to become THE LAW.. be the law, Jeff !,,

I must be Mr Naive.
First I find out mud wrestling, which I always took to be a perfeclty wholesome sport, is now racist and bum gouge, which my dainty Air Force ears never heard before today is apparently in the urban dictionary too.
