One might think that as a Yankee fan I would have some empathy for Alabama backers and not fall into the same "Anyone but the Tide" mindset similar to that which guides so many baseball fans jealous of the ongoing glory of the most successful franchise in professional sports.
One might think so, and if I were a better man it might be true. But for tonight, and even though it might delight Jimmy Peanut himself, it's Go, Bulldogs.

Listened to Joe DeGenova.
I have the same problem with him I have with Sundance.
He's correct on most if not all of the particulars, but the things he says are going to happen often don't.
Extraneous will be pleased to hear Joe says the dossier was used for FISA. :)

Alabama is playing SCARED Art. Taking their QB out after a subpar first half is fear. Their QB didn't create their deficit. Saban is a great coach, and he's an ass-hole too.
Very entertaining game though.

I know Lyle was kidding but who was he referring to when he said Ban her?

All this talk about footballs has me thinking about that poor dope whose right teste blew up to the size of a grapefruit and then exploded "like a volcano".
Even beside the fact it sounded horrifying, apparently he was in the hospital and the NHS decided to discharge with a catchers mitt as his prescribed therapy and it only blew up after he was sent home with what would seem to be a somewhat unresolved and delicate problem.
Between him and the guy in Taiwan whose crazy wife chewed his right giblet off it's been a berry bad couple weeks.

John Solomon on Hannity, on his Hill story today on the E-Mails:
Hannity: ...Are they not referencing that they are leaking to the Press? And what does that mean?
Solomon: I don't think we know entirely but Congressional Investigators certainly have a strong suspicion that these text messages point to an operation inside the FBI that was leaking information, spinning reporters, tracking down reporters, there's a whole effort where the 2 of them are trying to track down the great Reporter from the NYTImes, Matt Appuzo, and why else would they be trying to track down a reporter unless someone wanted to talk to him. I read through hundreds of these messages over the weekend. I walked away from them knowing one thing---I remember the moment in his Testimony when James Comey said "FBI Agents don't give a rip about politics, and they don't leak." After you read these messages you walk away thinking these 2 FBI Agents cared a lot about Politics, and they were monitoring the Media almost like they were a Press Office.

Big fun up here. !8F, dark, our cul-de-sac road surface is icy but has bits of previously dropped gravel in it for decent walking traction, and the snow on the lawns is maybe 6 to 12 inches deep. 2 street lights are on and Christmas decorations of the neighbors give off decent light on the overcast and thru the night fog.
All 3 pups have diarrhea like maniacs as the De-worming pills have kicked in, so I have to keep taking them outdoors whenever they demand it of me.
The problem is we have a large momma moose and her good size kid with her. Every time I go out with the pups she or he are standing about 30 feet away in my yard and the dogs start going banana's and the momma goes defensive. So far I had been able to go one dog at a time and cause no problems. Scout our female is wonderful, almost never barks and very sensible. But Nelson and Fry both just got the rapid call of nature so Leashed both up and went out all bundled up and man did they bark a storm, and then on the way back the momma stood in the middle of the street blocking our passage and the dogs about ripped my arms off on the leashes and made me deaf from their barking.
Anyhow, just a great exasperating but comic experience to have, regardless how much trouble it is. Wish someone had taken a video of the situation so I could share the comedy with you guys. Decided after about 15 minutes waiting for Momma Moose to move to take an upper road, then leashed both dogs tight on a very short leash, and dragged them both downhill behind my though a section of woods in very deep snow and slid around back behind Momma Moose and got back to the house, popped open the garage and snuck on in:)
Inside I unleashed the pups, went through the big undressing scene, and discovered after taking my long pants off hat there was a big steam of blood running down my leg from plowing into something on the deep snow detour...And I missed the first 15 minutes of Perry Mason:(
Oh well. To the Joe DeGenova tape!

This is a thread drawing some conclusions about the Hill article yesterday about Lisa Page leaking to the Post and throwing someone under the bus.
I would like people to read it because my main conclusion about this is that we need to get this FBI thing solved or we are all going to turn into paranoid lunatics. By the end of the thread, it seems to me that Sundance is suspicious of Sean Hannity.

No sweat Miss M---the blood froze:)
The DeGenova tape is better to just listen to than transcribe and it shows we are definitely getting much closer to our quarry. Great.
Since I missed so much earlier today I finally got to that link hundred's of comments back about the Cliven Bundy Case being throw out by the Judge with a ruling of Prejudice against the Fed's doing the prosecuting. I thought this bit worth pasting:
The judge also criticized the FBI for not providing evidence to prosecutors, saying it was not a coincidence that most of the withheld evidence came from the FBI.
She said the prosecution's reliance on the FBI and failure to look beyond the documents the FBI provided represented an "intentional abdication of its responsibility."
Essentially, she said the prosecution decided not to follow up because the evidence would have worked in the defendants' favor.
What is it with the FBI? What is going on with their Agents in the field? There is obviously some systemic problem rife through that Agency. I know a fish rots from the head down but I am not much impressed by what I'm seeing of FBI Field Agents either.
And I hope that this Federal Judge in Arizona throwing the case out "with Prejudice," stiffens Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan's spine to consider doing the same in DC when it's called for.

Morning Daddy!
Posted by: Janeprobably about 10 minutes after getting there | January 09, 2018 at 05:24 AM
daddy,
I wonder if the FBI has been corrupted for a longer time than just the Obama administration.
I vaguely remember back after 9/11 a review of security and the theory was that 9/11 was made easier because the agencies like the FBI didn't talk to the CIA, etc.
However, the Clintons had been in charge of the FBI for 8 years when W was inaugurated, and had plenty of time to replace quite a few people as they retired or quit. What if the FBI was simply not paying attention to things like Arabs on a plane acting weird (James Woods experience which was IGNORED) or other suspicious things because they were trained NOT to?
Now suppose when W won (which was a near thing, as we all remember the Florida recount) that rather than Clinton loyalists leaving the FBI they simply slow-walked anything which would have stopped infiltration by anti-American forces into the country and instead spent their time looking busy, all the while hiring MORE commies (shorthand for leftist types).
So then, by the time Obama made it in, there would have been a fair number of agents ready to do his bidding - and another 8 years to get rid of any straight-arrow agents.
Emboldened by their belief that Hillary was a shoe-in after Obama, they went about their work (or non-work) ignoring things like Hezbollah selling drugs in our country, and cooperated fully with spying on Trump.
And why did they do that?
"Trump must not only be defeated but destroyed, so that his kind shall not rise again."
Obama was furious about Trump and the birth certificate, and Hillary was angry because Trump had mentioned Haiti at the Al Smith dinner and was pretty sure he knew about the corruption there. (Remember, he had met with the Haitian community in Florida earlier in the campaign.)
I am thinking that MOST of the FBI is corrupt; how else to explain the fact that the Clinton Foundation, an obvious and huge example of bribery, was allowed to exist and raise funds and not even once be audited, let alone investigated?
It would be very easy to screen new hires and nix any potential troublemakers from being hired. How many new hires are ex-military, like retired agent James Kallstrom was? How many went to schools like Liberty University or Texas A & M, vs. how many went to one of the Ivies? How many had undergraduate activities of the left-wing type?
I think we may be looking at something more serious than a few political appointees.

Posted by: Miss Marple the Deplorable | January 09, 2018 at 06:20 AM
Please read Miss M's 05:02.
Excellent input. Sundance thinks that CF is "Clinton Foundation" and that Lisa Page is pissed that Comey reopened the Clinton E-Mail Investigation because of the discovery a week before the Election of Weiner's computer with the E-mails. If Comey is the guy those 2 want thrown under the bus for damaging Strzok and Page's political candidate, that makes sense to me. I also like this bit, tho' I step back from saying we definitively know it:
4. Lisa Page stating: ..."Makes me feel WAY less bad about throwing him under the bus to the forthcoming CF article."... Indicates that DOJ/FBI lawyer Lisa Page was one of the sources for the Washington Post article.
5. So now we know that FBI Attorney, and legal aide to Andrew "Andy" McCabe, Lisa Page was also a leaker.
6. Which makes sense for a few reasons. #1) Because the Washington Post is the primary outlet for IC leaks. The New York Times is their secondary outlet...
9. What that individual series of text messages from Lisa Page highlights is how far she was willing to go to shape DOJ/FBI investigative action to the benefit of her favorite political candidate.
10. Lisa Page and Peter Strzok were not only willing to manipulate their official investigative duty to the benefit of Hillary Clinton, but they were also willing to leak information to the media in an effort to shape the narrative around their investigative duties.
The great thing though is that very shortly we will KNOW all this stuff. I don't think they have any chance of keeping a lid on it now, so whether Sundance is right today in the exact particulars in this link is no biggie, because we are going to find out, and Mueller knows we are going to find out, and so does the entire Comey Cabal.

The FBI as an agency has always been corrupt, though it has had many honorable agents.
It's a government bureau, which are all corrupt to a greater or lesser extent, and a powerful one and it's leadership is appointed by and answerable to corrupt politicians.
What did anyone think was going to happen?
Posted by: Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki | January 09, 2018 at 06:38 AM
daddy,
I saw that quote when Plouffe posted it on Twitter. The hair stood up on my neck and that is when I knew that Trump and his family had great courage.
By the way, it occurs to me that while there are many acts of kindness on record for President Trump in his past, many done without publicity, has anyone EVER read of the Clintons doing anything kind for an average person or even a celebrity?
Character counts. So which is more likely, that Trump conspired with the Russians to undermine an election OR the Clintons and Obama conspired to frame him and destroy Trump?

Maria Bartiromo just had on a former Assistant Head of the Counter Intel Division of the FBI, and he went whole hog damning the top Leadership as completely out of whack with the ideals of how the FBI should act, or how it ever acted in his 30+ years service, and he painfully admitted that the current Leadership is totally corrupt and needs to be grilled until we know everything that went on. Maria is well up on the very latest news about Strzok-Page and the WSJ leak, and it is nice to see her simply cut thru the BS and straightforwardly say "lets just admit it, the Top Echelon of the FBI was without question biased toward Hillary and doing everything to exonerate her and to destroy her opponent DonaldTrump." Not verbatim but darn close.
I love when a New Yawker just calls it straight without weasel words.

jane, you asked about osteopaths v standard MDs yesterday.
Historically, osteopathic medical schools were easier to be admitted to, and I don't think too many people seek them out as their first choices even now. So you very likely would see some difference in the student body's SAT and MCAT scores, and you aren't going to find former Rhodes Scholars or Air Force academy valedictorians there.
(Yes, I have partners who fit those descriptions!)
Also, back in the day, osteopaths learned spinal manipulation as a mode of treatment of many maladies, which was looked on as total and complete voodoo by standard western med practioners, say in the 60s and 70s, by the same people who cause the obesity epidemic because they thought eating fat made fat in your arteries, and believed "academics" who were bought out by the sugar industry.
Oh, looks like they still learn spinal manipulation--

But like, who knows??? Maybe spinal manipulation--laying on of hands--is what most anxious people suffering the maladies of the modern world need to get better? Or there is something to chakras, or Qi or all those historical ways of healing.
AND--I also have partners wha ARE osteopaths! And I would not hesitate for a nanosecond to have them take care of me or my family.
They aren't doing ground breaking research in our field, but neither are the rest of us, if you catch my drift.
(i.e., just how "smart" do you have to be to be a good doc??)
