TM's link to his December 2016 column has this beauty from Clarice:
For NR fans:National Review in 1980: “Reagan’s image remains inchoate.… At the outset of his campaign, his image is largely that of the role-playing actor — pleasant on stage, but ill-equipped for the real world beyond the footlights. Reagan does not yet project the presidential image. He is not seen as a serious man.”
Democrats and liberal activists claimed victory, saying they stopped a threat to democracy by derailing the panel, known officially as the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity.
But Kris Kobach, who was vice chairman of the panel, said Democrats come out behind because the commission’s work will continue but will be completed without any input from Democrats, who had been part of the commission but won’t have a say in Homeland Security’s work.
“It will get done faster, but the Democrats no longer have a seat at the table,” Mr. Kobach said. “If they think this is a victory for the left, they are wrong.”
Ran into this amusing comment at AmSpec. For our engineer friends, MT especially;
My engineer boss had a favorite saying framed behind his desk that read, "There comes a time with every project when it is time to shoot the engineers and build the damn thing anyway." It is the time.
With the caveat that there may be some conclusions drawn that aren't justified, this article does have a good timeline, and I am pretty sure he is right that Admiral Rogers alerted Trump, since he moved everything from Trump Tower to Bedminster the very next day.
Comey gave four memos of his conversations with Trump to a friend, Columbia law professor Daniel Richman.
“If it’s true that Professor Richman had four of the seven memos, then in light of the fact that four of the seven memos the Committee reviewed are classified, it would appear that at least one memo the former FBI director gave Professor Richman contained classified information,” Grassley writes.

Many mostly Democrat States refused to hand over data from the 2016 Election to the Commission On Voter Fraud. They fought hard that the Commission not see their records or methods because they know that many people are voting illegally. System is rigged, must go to Voter I.D.
Today is one of the forecast big event days (1/4, 1/10, 1/20) from the chans. Plus Trump did a "MAGA" tweet. If qanon forecasts enough days, the stopped clock method will work for him.

With all of the failed “experts” weighing in, does anybody really believe that talks and dialogue would be going on between North and South Korea right now if I wasn’t firm, strong and willing to commit our total “might” against the North. Fools, but talks are a good thing!
Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch was just on with Maria Bartiromo discussing the "Deal" struck last night to get the Subpoenaed Documents released: He is a "Ledge" guy, meaning he is generally not optimistic and today was no exception for the following reason:
Chris Farrell: ...With respect to the show yesterday, and yes this was a show, this was really incredibly disrespectful to Mister Nunes. Look, he's the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee. He's the one who subpoenaed the Documents and the Testimony. The fact that he was excluded from the meeting, and the FBI Director and Mr Rosenstein go to talk to the Speaker. In my opinion that is not a good sign. They may have reached some sort of an agreement about production or testimony, but when they deliberately exclude the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee that is asking the questions, guess what, there's a real problem, and it speaks not only about the problem with the DOJ and the FBI, but frankly that the Speaker would do that to Mr Nunes very publicly, uhh, it's not a confidence builder.
So, reading chIIum's tweets it looks like people were interviewed in Lafayette Park as well as certain areas within the White House.
Here are my questions:
1. Why was Wolff allowed such access. (General Kelly wouldn't have allowed this, which is why Priebus is gone, if you ask me.)
2. At the time these interviews took lpace, Bannon was a member of the staff. This is extremely disloyal, and makes me wonder if he deliberately took the job so as to sabotage the President.
3. I would like to know if Cruz was aware of any of this.
Disgusting people that cannot be loyal to someone who risked all in order to get the GOP back in the White House. I am not on the Ledge; I am on the parapets, armed and dangerous.
Nunes will get the information however which was the original goal.
Of course Ralph , Cruz will not be challenging President Trump.
I feel like every month I have to assert that neither Ryan or Cruz will make a run at him.

Neo:
What a great observation.
Wrt Comey, I see him escaping via the Sandy Berger route.
He will be brought down a few pegs and maybe lose his law license if he has one and not jailed.
He can quote Scripture doncha know?
Bannon doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell, for exactly the same reason MM repeatedly told us Cruz couldn't win--her sisters will not vote for somebody who looks like Steve Bannon.
Yes, voters are that superficial.
And he's got a face for radio, as they say. At least til he clears up that rosacia, gets a hair cut, and drops twenty or thirty pounds.
Hawks almost got my daughter's small dog a couple of years ago. If you have a small dog, keep an eye on them if you live in an area with predatory birds, especially in this weather when food is scarce.
I agree, but I don't discount the "pain in the ass" factor. He's going to get air time on places like CNN and MSNBC since they suddenly have strange new respect for him.
I have an intense dislike for disloyalty. That is what this is .
Priebus was an ally of Katie Walsh who was fired for leaking. Later Priebus himself was fired for leaking. I never thought of Bannon as a leaker, but of course he was accused of it at the time.
I think Bannon is attractive in that kind of rumpled Irish way. It's discouraging that he would turn against Trump. There ought to be another way. It seemed like they were effectively playing good cop bad cop until Moore lost.
Seems to be that Vannon was the source for all of the hysteria about McMasters, Jared and Ivanka, etc.
Maybe. Some of that concern was/is justified.
If Bannon holds firm in Trump support I will be relieved. I like the guy when he is disciplined. I absolutely could see him working with Trump as part of a psyops going into the election.
Good Morning! The storm is supposed to intensify in wind strength like the October wind storm in northern New England. This time with snow and bitter cold. Power outages are expected.
I questioned Bannon's judgement when he asked Ann LePage to run for the Senate against Angus King. She's a great lady, but I don't think she has any interest in elective office. When she was asked by the media about it,she just laughed.
Nantucket expects winds gusting to 76 and temps at or below zero.

“Russian Collusion”? Dems First Used It Under Clinton
An excerpt:
On Oct. 16, 2006, the FBI raided the homes of Weldon’s daughter and a friend, allegedly for fear that documents would be destroyed if they did not do so sooner.
Here is how the Washington Post blithely justified the raid, “The search warrants were executed, in part, because of news reports over the weekend exposing the investigation, according to a senior Justice Department official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing inquiry. Typically, such searches are sped up to prevent any evidence from being destroyed.”
Here is another part of the pattern: the “on condition of anonymity” part. Although the raid happened under Bush’s watch, the DOJ official managing it was a Democratic contributor named Howard Sklamberg.
This was the same official who allowed Sandy Berger to plea his 11 admitted felonies down to one misdemeanor. Sklamberg recommended a $10,000 fine for Berger, no jail time and an agreed upon polygraph that was never administered.
Iggy, There comes a time with every project when it is time to shoot the engineers and build the damn thing anyway.
In our shop, that was stated on a regular basis by a certain Mrs MT who ran the front office. Actually a shorter version: "Just shoot the engineer and ship the product." :)
porch, Bannon was a good looking guy, and can be again, if he wanted to be.
I'm paying just about zilch attention to this, as my initial "wait, what???" yesterday morning turned in to: "they're probably staging this." Guess RG turned me in to an 11th dimension chess believer.
With a good dash of OL's: I.DON'T. CARE.
We'll see...
I had to read Grassley's statement a second time, I am embarrassed to say, to understand why he is correct in charging Comey with leaking a classified document.
I blame skimming on the internet.
No snow, but my pipes froze while I was in the big city watching the Sugar Bowl. I tried to thaw them using a variety of heat implements, but I decided to turn off the water at the street, shut off the water heater and take a staycation at our newly-refurbished lakeside Wyndham.
The water pressure is quite strong, unlimited hot water, and a fabulous shower head. Endless clean towels, someone makes my bed, and it has a Kuerig thingy for hot tea. Maybe it won't thaw out for a few more weeks... :)
In a sane and just world, Wolff would be eating out of MM's garbage cans, but our own rse would be a hugely best-selling author and a regular guest on the Sunday morning shows.
Oh, and an expert witness for the prosecution at the treason trials against the education bureaucrats who've been damaging our kids for the past 50+ years.
Oh, and there were almost a dozen Pelicans on the water outside my room this morning. Very, very cool. They've been coming here in the winter for five years or so, but don't make it down to my slice of the water...
Question. Why would Ryan or Nunes have to NEGOTIATE for SUBPOENA'D DOCUMENTS.
They're fuckin' subpoena'd, they don't belong to ROSENSTEIN or WRAY. How is it okay for the LAW ENFORCEMENT depts of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH to disobey the law when LIBTARDS AGREE??
Don't get too far out in front with the classified memos -- if Comey deleted the parts that were classified before sending them, then we are back to a less serious crime...
Why didn't Sessions get involved in Nunes request since he's the one ultimately responsible for delivering them? I understand that he's sitting on a nest of vipers but this is nothing more than adhering to the org chart's reporting chain.
Looking at the back of that paper makes it crystal clear how jeb's org entity, that betsy devos was on the board of, is working hand in hand on that prog vision with the various admitted entities on the Left.
I had already surmised that Portrait of a Graduate was just a rename of what the book described as Tranzi OBE and again that paper confirms that.
Notice that it is the state of Virginia, which boycotted the Common Core because they already had the needed 'learning standards' in place just like texas, whose Portrait of a Graduate is used to illustrate what 'evidence-based practices really mean. That would be in your neighborhood I believe.
Trump is the chief executive officer of the country. Nunes et al are trying to get to the bottom of the plot to overthrow him.
Why do they have to subpoena docs he should already have ordered his flunkies to release?
Especially since doing so is precisely the opposite of a cover up?
It's snowing and +15 in Jackson, New Hampshire. Between now and tomorrow we are expecting 6" to 11" of snow. In a few minutes we'll head out for some XC skiing. It's like living in a Christmas card when we're out on the Wildcat Meadow trails.
On another topic, I think my decision on ledge vs. terrace depends on whether or not there are any significant indictments in 2018. Trump has managed the drip-drip of information very well up to now, as American anxiety slowly builds that the swamp will win a final victory.
During Christmas Eve dinner my liberal nephew stunned me by expressing outrage at Obama for shutting down investigations into Hezbollah to preserve his Iran deal. Maybe we're getting closer to indictments than thought, but I don't believe the country is ready for them yet. When we are I believe Obama will remain untouchable. Meanwhile I'm mildly optimistic that indictments will come, but they better be big.

All the "Hollywood journalists" who didn't risk exposing HW, and all the DC/NY ones who do the same with the favored politicians.

Neo:
What a great observation.
Wrt Comey, I see him escaping via the Sandy Berger route.
He will be brought down a few pegs and maybe lose his law license if he has one and not jailed.
He can quote Scripture doncha know?

Neo,
That was a really good comment! HA!

Anonamom, at first glance, I read your comment as “he’s just a shit@ rather than “shill”.
Which I think applies equally well.

If you have a small dog, keep an eye on them if you live in an area with predatory birds, especially in this weather when food is scarce.

anonamom,
I agree, but I don't discount the "pain in the ass" factor.

Porchlight,
Seems to be that Vannon was the source for all of the hysteria about McMasters, Jared and Ivanka, etc.

Woke up to 30F on the First Coast. Mrs.JiB sent me photo of snow in Southampton. Just an inch or two so far but she says the wind is howling.

I think Bannon is attractive in that kind of rumpled Irish way. It's discouraging that he would turn against Trump. There ought to be another way. It seemed like they were effectively playing good cop bad cop until Moore lost.
However, Trump benefits from cutting him loose.

The quotes, as far as I have seen, portrayed Bannon turning against Trump's children.

The more I see of the candidates Bannon pushes, the less respect I have for him. He is a Rove wannabe.

Right. Maybe that's all it is or will be. I was reacting to the possibility of him going on the lefty circuit to bash Trump. That would be bad.
Bannon is no Rove in my opinion. He is a populist through and through and Rove is just about the opposite of that, politically anyway.

To repeat re Bannon: I DO NOT CARE.
Trump is our only hope, warts and all.

Nantucket expects winds gusting to 76 and temps at or below zero.
Harbors are iced in so no ferry service and with those winds the puddle jumpers won't fly either. I was going to visit for a few days but decided against it since I would have been stuck there, and then I would miss our trip to NZ & AU next weekend. And then Mrs. L would kill me.

Exactly, Janet.

8 below in Oconomowoc. It's called WINTER.

I don't know how it changes while we have the big MFM in cahoots with the Dems.

Suppose the FBI/DOJ wanted to deliver after release of the IG report that may go public next week.
Posted by: sbw | January 04, 2018 at 09:44 AM
Suppose they NEVER want to deliver.
They weren't ASKED to deliver. They were ordered to.
Posted by: GUS | January 04, 2018 at 09:49 AM
Don't get too far out in front with the classified memos -- if Comey deleted the parts that were classified before sending them, then we are back to a less serious crime...
Posted by: cathyf | January 04, 2018 at 09:59 AM
Why didn't Sessions get involved in Nunes request since he's the one ultimately responsible for delivering them? I understand that he's sitting on a nest of vipers but this is nothing more than adhering to the org chart's reporting chain.
Posted by: Captain Hate | January 04, 2018 at 10:00 AM
it might be becasue of an overly broad interpretation of his recusal by the DoJ?
don't know.

Thanks james. iNACOL this morning released a paper https://www.inacol.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/CompetencyWorks-FitForPurpose-TakingTheLongView.pdf that details just how correct I was in what I laid out in my book, which would be why I remain the person who must not be mentioned on many sites.

Trump is allowing a situation to exist in which his enemies posses the ammunition but his allies do not.
That is not winning.

This is also why I warn that school choice does not lead where people assume http://www.aei.org/events/education-savings-accounts-jeb-bush-on-the-future-of-educational-choice-2/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=malkus&utm_content=invitation and is actually a means of making sure there is no avenue where the change the student neurally template does not reign.
Lindsey burke from heritage was actually at a unesco home schooling conference in rome italy a few years ago to make sure that the desired template invaded homeschooling as well.
