From the flailing NY Times:
Trump Says He Is Willing to Speak Under Oath to Mueller
OK, it makes for a snappy headline and Trump did say it but as we all should know by now - false material statements to a Federal investigator are a felony, with or without any "oaths".
If Trump's lawyers are OK with putting their, well, garrulous impulsive and undisciplined client in front of interviewers looking for a process crime, well, I can only hope they have an associate with quick reflexes standing by with a thorazine dart gun.
Or we may be on a road to some sort of Washington crisis when Mueller returns an indictment against Trump for lying and obstructing an investigation that turns up no actual collusion.
Maybe Mueller will get "disappeared" during that meeting:)

Lawyer David Bossie on Stewart Varney's Show says that Trump's Lawyer's should get in writing the exact and precise questions and wording that Mueller wants to ask Trump and examine them, before making any decision.
I can see Trump doing that as a strategy game, to get exactly what Mueller wants to ask him so he'll know Mueller's strategy, then having got that info, to tell Mueller to 'eff off.

1. I believe the couple he greets (man in the green tie) is Brian Mulroney of Canada, but I am not sure.
2. British reporter asks if he thinks he will be received well. The President waves his arm around indicating the size of the crowd and says "I think I already am. You tell me."

maybe Mueller has watched A Few Good Men too many times ... he knows he wants to say it ...
so Mueller's star witnesses have pled guilty to lieing to the FBI already, he's got 2 to others who were briefly on the campaign on seperate charges well before the campaign, and all this is the stuff of Russia collusion.
Maybe he can ask Trump about his favorite color.

If Trump is not guilty of colluding with the Russian government then what does he have to worry about testifying under oath?
Pretty much every single conservative criticized Comey and the FBI for not putting Hillary under oath during their investigation into her illegal private email server. If we are going to return to being a nation of laws IMO our political allies should be held to the same standard we hold our political enemies. Knowing how Trump operates combined with all the crazy things coming out about the criminal corruption of the Obama administration, IMO Trump sees this as an opportunity to prove to the nation he and his administration play by the rules, adhere to federal law, and won’t weaponIze the government against his enemies like Obama did.

anonamom,
When I lived in Marquette, I bought a 16' Hobie and sailed on Lake Superior every weekend in the summer. Used to trailer it over to St. Ignace, launch and sail around Mackinac Island. This is the 1977-78 time frame.
I never saw another on Superior or the Straits or on Lake Michigan. They guy I bought it and the trailer from had a sports shop in Marquette and had the Hobie in the store for 2 summers before I bought it. He took me and the boat up to Lake Independence in Big Bay (where they filmed Anatomy of a Murder:) to show me how to handle it.
He thought that is where I would sail it mostly. When I told him I was going to keep it a friends place on the shore of Superior he almost fainted. Told me Superior was too dangerous because of the storms that come out of nowhere and you don't want to be caught in them. He was right but I never sailed more than a 1/2 mile off shore, so I could get back in case of a storm.
Lot of fun. Sold it to the family I beached it with when I moved down to Midlland.

You can't attempt to ruin the reputation of an institution and then casually say "Gee, those folks are ruining their own reputation".
You see how that works?
The reason you're attempting to destroy the FBI is because they're investigating your boss for collusion and obstruction of justice.Anyone with half a brain knows that Mueller has the goods on Trump,so the only thing left to do is to discredit the men and women who put their lives on the line for this country so that you can provide ample cover to the Kremlin. Run it through your mind again...slowly......to protect Valdmir Putin and his buddies from the crime of attacking the United States of America you're attempting to destroy the institutions that protect the United States of America.

To me what is odd, is the fact that so many people who were duplicious in their actions at the DoJ and FBI still have their jobs.
Let's say this is a private company like Exxon or Cat or Apple, for that matter, and the respective boards passed over the executive VP with 30 years senority to bring in an outsider CEO but a cabal of senior managers decided to sabotage his placement and direction, do you think they would still be employed? Hell no.
And there are businesses and enterprises with that experience and outcome all over the country.

C'mon, Tom.
Undisciplined?
Why do people fall for this?
You tell me how someone gets to be a billionaire with multimillion dollar properties worldwide, signing thousands of contracts and other legal documents along the way, and also by the way the leader of the free world, being "undisciplined."
No really, tell me.

Hi Kim.
Wondering what you think of Larry Kummers' latest at WUWT.

I think it's pretty clear from the Libby persecution, the Flynn case, and the Papadopoulos case, in contrast with how Hillary was treated, is that "the goods" is so subjective that Mueller can and will come up with something.
Yeah, but Donald J. Trump is not Scooter Libby and most certainly is not George W. Bush.
Thank God.

Exactly, kim, and he said it outright in The Art of the Deal thirty years ago.

Perhaps Mr. McGuire could watch this video in front of the Senate oversight committee regarding costs of the renovation of the UN building:

Off topic, I'm pretty sure OL was at the Aussie Open semis yesterday, and if he saw the Halep-Kerber match I envy him. Halep was down 6-7, 15-40 in the third set (so two match points), won an unbelievable point, went on to win the game and the next two for the match. So now it's #1 vs #2, neither of whom has ever won a major.
Some highlights here:

Families in Green Bay and across the state will receive $100 for every child, under 18, living at home. I ask the legislature to pass the Child Tax Credit Rebate, so that by the time students go back to school, parents will have a check in the mailbox. #WISOTS

Ducky Socks Trudeau Talks, President Trump Wins...
MM 12:06pm- "Trudeau takes shot at Trump protectionism at Davos forum"
From Bloomberg:
"Campbell Soup Is Shifting Canadian Production to Its U.S. Factories
Campbell Soup Co. is closing its lone Canadian factory in Toronto and shifting production to three existing facilities in the U.S., a symbolic victory for efforts to bolster domestic manufacturing.
The move will result in 380 job cuts in Canada, with factories in North Carolina, Ohio and Texas picking up the slack, Campbell said Wednesday. But it won’t translate to many new U.S. jobs. Existing workers will handle the increased soup volume, meaning employment gains will be “minimal,” according to Thomas Hushen, a company spokesman."

And employment gains minimal means small gains with future layoffs adverted.
The 380 fired canucks can work at the local canadian gentlemans club, I believe that is canadas main industry. Well that and Mosque construction.

At the one-year anniversary of his inauguration, several crises seem to have quietly worsened under the cover of Trump’s insanity. A big one is the continuing collapse of the two major political parties – particularly the Republicans, whose dysfunction now seems beyond terminal. With characteristic myopia, the GOP establishment spent most of the past year trying to rid Washington of alt-right icon and former chief Trump strategist Steve Bannon, instead of worrying about the larger problem, i.e., the voter rage that put Trump in the White House..

Also, Kim, how about the EU plan to save the planet ... by burning North American wood?
https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/286879/
“Europe’s energy policies are worse than stupid. At the end of last year, Sir John Beddington, a former chief scientific adviser to the British government, lifted the lid on the scandal at the heart of the EU’s renewable policies. According to Sir John, since the EU’s first renewables directive in 2008, the growth of bioenergy — much of it sourced from North American woods and forests — has provided around half the expansion of renewable energy. To supply even one third of the additional renewable energy needed to meet Europe’s new 2030 target will require an amount of wood roughly equivalent to the combined harvest in the U.S. and Canada.”
“Burning wood releases four times as much carbon dioxide per MWh of electricity as natural gas does, and over 50 percent more than coal. At the same time, cutting down trees reduces carbon sinks. Even so-called sustainable forestry practices incur “carbon debt,” with carbon paybacks running into decades and even centuries.”
