Resistance Terror

This news about Vanessa Trump (wife of Donald Jr.) is appalling.

Vanessa Trump taken to hospital as precaution after white powder sent to her home

by TOM WINTER and JONATHAN DIENST

President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law was taken to a Manhattan hospital as a precaution on Monday after a suspicious letter containing an unidentified white powder was sent to her apartment, senior law enforcement and city officials told NBC News.

The letter was addressed to Vanessa Trump's husband, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest child of the president and his ex-wife Ivana.

After the letter was opened, three people at the residence were taken to New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center strictly as a precaution, the New York City Fire Department said.

There is no indication anyone suffered any injuries; the NYPD said the substance was deemed to be non-hazardous and was taken to a lab for further analysis.

"How disturbed must a person be to do what they did to a mother of five children?'' Michael Cohen, President Trump's personal attorney, said in a statement. "This dangerous and reckless act goes beyond political differences."

Well, it ought to go beyond political differences. We'll see.

CH: re your 11:something on NDN nation sovereignty... *only* recognized through treaties which usually meant some kind of military consequence. There were many treaties signed for land pre-conquest and then the tribe would be obliterated. Case closed.

The Wobanaki (Abenaki) up in Vermont were still fighting for sovereignty in the late 90s and to my knowledge haven't succeeded. Why? Sovereign lands would require "ownership" of the land "owned" by Hydro-Quebec....traditional fishing grounds.

The Monockan Nation was newly recognized just late last year.

But you basically have it right.

Vine Deloria estimated that at our zenith in 1492 the North American continental population was 500 million including the ill-fated Carribean tribes (Arawaks, Tainos, et al).

By the quincentennial of Columbus first landing (1992), the slogan was "Almost one million destroyed per year." You get the point.

Yes, their parents were in the wrong, but the last time I looked we didn't punish children for their parents' crimes.

In a sense we do. We don’t really consider what will happen to the children when we send a parent to jail for a crime. If that means the only income is gone and the kids end up homeless, that doesn’t enter into the calculation.

How is this different? Those kids didn’t ask for their situation any more than the kids of illegal aliens did.

I see Cruz is against offering a path to citizenship, but doesn't offer any alternative for those DACA people.

Cruz is still hasn't figured out his own path to citizenship.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

James D.,

In the case of children of criminals, there are relatives and foster care. Social services monitors those kids and here's the salient point: we do not send the children to prison with their parents.

In the case of DACA, we can either figure out some sort of accommodation, weeding out the bad apples for prison and deportation, or we can deport them all.

The latter is a PR nightmare and personally, I have sympathy for some of them. I understand that you do not, and that's fine, but I am telling you that it is a non-starter with both Congress and the President, who has a sense of fairness and a soft heart.

John H: "seems to me that the section 2 of the 14th amendment is pretty clear that non-citizens (and untaxed Indians) shouldn’t be counted towards determining representation levels in the house. Perfectly valid to ask re: citizenship if not in fact necessary."

And it's pretty clear that not counting "untaxed Indians" is a flipping joke. Reservations are some of the most heavily US government-regulated zones. Plus, there are urban NDNs who need representation in Washington DC to gain tribal recognition.

Native people are a different kettle of fish from Border jumpers. Period. Taxed or not. Going household to household and counting how many bodies without having legit i.d.'s to check is what the Dems are after.

Casinos really changed that representation game too when it comes to state governments counting NDNs for state redistricting concerns.

The benefits bestowed on Tribal Government from the Great White Father in Washington do not equate in the least with illegal Pico and Alvarado getting benefit checks and cash employment to support their wife and broods stateside, and the other wife and broods in Jalisco via international remittance transfers.

The distinction is worth making.

Respectfully,

Kev

You responded exactly I would have *except* if the dreamer's parent(s) is deported, every other family member can go with the parent to keep the family intact.

There are no easy and ethical answers to this since you can't excuse the parent from a sentence for a committed crime based on how many rugrats depend on him or her.

MM, I actually do have sympathy for some of them.

But absolutely not the ones who scream that they have any RIGHT to be here. From where I sit, if there is any allowance made for (some of) them, it has to be part of a package that increases security (which we are hopefully getting with President Trump) and, almost as important, an acknowledgement that whatever allowance is made is (1) a one-one-only deal, and (2) purely a matter of goodwill on the part of the citizenry and in no way anything that they are owed as any form of right or obligation.

Research by some scholars provides population estimates of the pre-contact Americas to be as high as 112 million in 1492, while others estimate the population to have been as low as eight million. In any case, the native population declined to less than six million by 1650.

This was far more agregious than slavery. In some cases it was slavery. 158 years over 100 million lives. Only thing that comes close in the AMERICA'S is abortion.

Yes, that raised my eyebrows as well. I believe the entire world population is thought to have been around 500 million in 1492. Obviously the population of North America at that point is more speculative, but 500 million seems high by an order of magnitude compared to most estimates.

http://www.scottmanning.com/content/year-by-year-world-population-estimates/

Per Wiki: While it is difficult to determine exactly how many Natives lived in North America before Columbus,[6] estimates range from a low of 2.1 million[7] to 7 million[8] people to a high of 18 million.[9]

"The sins of the father will be visited upon his children." Liberals like to modify the authenticity of my almost accurate quotation. They modify it to say:

"The sins of the father should not be visited upon his children."

How convenient.

Yes, the kiddies who were smuggled over by coyote and other means by knowledgeable and pre-meditating adults *WHO KNOW IT'S ILLEGAL TO JUMP THE US BORDER" are fruit of a poisonous tree.

When US citizens commit felonies they screw their families. The felon can't work, get credit, handle money in a business, go to law school----> NADA.

But for the grace of God go the children of felons/jailbirds onto living a better life. And as for the extended family support network it is often so that the felon's mate and kids are shunned out of fear that they'll invite investigation into their association with the felon.

Breaking the law: don't do it. Just like suicide, felonious conduct kills the spirit of a family no matter what the "turned his/her life around" story is.

The DACA caca is a PR STUNT. I will tell you this.

If Donald J. Trump deported every last border jumper, even if it cost 3 trillion dollars and replaced it with a conditional workers program (like the old Bracero programs of the 50s), the Mexican American communities of America would turn Republican Red pronto.

We're sick of this illegal sob story. Why? Because our forebearers came here the hard way and had to earn it; then we had to become *KNOWLEDGEABLE* English speaking citizens to get full citizenship.

On my Paw's side his parents had 7 children in Mexico that they brought to the US right after the first Mexican Revolution. They had 7 more kids in the US. Catlix ya know?

To cross over at the time, through Matamoros and settle in Las Cruces NM, they had to pay per person to be granted access by US border authorities. Then they had to enroll in school, learn English, and no child employment unless they could show proof of matriculation and progress in English proficiency which included reading.

But today it's liberal gibberish about people "losing their culture" to come here. That's the idea. This is a nation of laws and wealth through individual initiative and independence--- not a nation of people with some besotted "loyalty" (bravado really) code to the shit hole from whence they came.

Middle class Mexican Americans who are first and second generation voters like me are sick of this absolute bullshitake of Pelosi and the rest of these Chamber of Commerce stooges.

We lack a National Manpower Policy (we used to have those) and that drove what vo-tech education programs taught *IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS*. But oh no, not now. We can't track Muffy and Baldor into inhumane education: they need Latino studies and spanish because afterall, their birthday wish is emulate some shitehead's "GUATAMALAness.

Horse hockey.

We don't know how many kids we need in the construction trades. And we don't have to because the Ch of Comm lobbies for open borders--- so the plasterers, plumbers, steel workers, cement masons, bricklayers, and demolitionists come on over and take sub-prime wages from fat contractors who charge American schmoes (who feel good about getting to know Dagoberto and his bastard son--- you know the less fortunate).

That lets money flow right out of the US economy. And couple that with goofy trade agreements like NAFTA, HAFTA etc.... the US is getting sodomized.

The kids of border jumpers who never became citizens are not citizens have no rights as Americans. And granting them as complicit felons once they reach the age of 18 (which many of them are) some "path" to citizenship CORRUPTS our institutions---- as it corrupts the colleges and universities these complicit felons attend to study rebellion (look at who is taking over the admin buildings).

Bah. It's maddening. We are either a nation of laws all the way or we are a Nation of convenience. Principles work.

Gravity doesn't take a day off because I have to climb up a ladder to fix my roof. Do it right and accept the consequences of violating the law of gravity.

Tontos cabrones.

FTAFTA: When Judge Contreras pulled out, Flynn’s case was reassigned to Judge Emmet G. Sullivan. We now know that one of Judge Sullivan’s first actions on the case was to file an order directing Mueller to provide Flynn with any evidence in the special counsel’s possession that is favorable to Flynn, whether on the issue of guilt or of sentencing. Significantly, the order stresses that if Mueller has such evidence but believes it is not “material” and therefore that Flynn is not entitled to disclosure of it, Mueller must show the evidence to the court so that Judge Sullivan may decide whether to mandate its disclosure. Could this provide General Flynn with factual grounds of which he was previously unaware to seek to have his plea vacated? Now, it could be that this is just Judge Sullivan’s standard order on exculpatory information, filed in every case over which he presides. But it is noteworthy that Flynn had already pled guilty, and in the course of doing so had agreed to Mueller’s demand that he waive “the right to any further discovery or disclosures of information not already provided” — in addition to forfeiting many other trial and appellate rights. (See plea agreement, pages 6–7.) It certainly appears that Sullivan’s order supersedes the plea agreement and imposes on the special counsel the obligation to reveal any and all evidence suggesting that Flynn is innocent of the charge to which he has admitted guilt. Could this provide General Flynn with factual grounds of which he was previously unaware to seek to have his plea vacated? Would he have a viable legal basis to undo the plea agreement that he and his lawyer signed on November 30? We do not know at this point. All we can say is that Flynn’s sentencing has just been postponed until May.

As CH has stated in Ohio we rarely have good choices , so we must go with the Republican because they will do the least amount of damage.

I don't take any pleasure being right about that because we end up with the likes of Katshit as a result. Do you see what McCarthy had that I missed? Normally before sentencing the defendant gets to see the exculpatory material in the prosecution's possession, but the SC made Flynn waive that and Sullivan's order overturns that--that's why they postponed the sentencing. It underscores my AT article--the case against Flynn is all but dead. And Thanks to J Sullivan we knew he doesn't trust the prosecution one whit--he will not rely on their judgement as to what is relevant--he wants to see if himself to decide.

Okay guys. Check it out. Pre-Columbian population estimates *IS* a political discussion *BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE*.

For example: "Per Wiki: While it is difficult to determine exactly how many Natives lived in North America before Columbus,[6] estimates range from a low of 2.1 million[7] to 7 million[8] people to a high of 18 million.[9]"

There is the "wiki" estimates, the "scholars'" estimates---- and there is tribal knowledge that made numbers *SECRET*.

The US didn't start counting "county by county" native populations for the sake of sterilizing and euthanizing NDN women until after the 1861 federal legislation that appropriated into existence the US Cooperative Extension Service which measured as best it could every square foot of land in the states and territories, counted every settler, but most of all every living Skin in that zone.

All of it with justification for claims of "its open land."

The over reliance on the Land Bridge theory, that we all came over one way, which would have taken forever applies to mostly Athabascan dialect speakers like us Dineh, our cousins of the Apache nation, and western Canadian tribes. Dineh and Apaches migrated southward. That's why the Hopi hate us so much. But that LB Theory should be questioned.

Every continent had people living on it. The nonsensical theory that everything started in Africa and moved north where there was no ready supply of food is absurd on its face. The southern belt of the US and the Caribbean region were densely populated regions.

Why do European and Eurocentric American scholars fixate on how many were here first? We've seen with the "Settled Science" disease of the last 50 years around global warming and cooling that these people are capable of talking out of their asses to pick winners and losers.

Ancestral tribal lands in North America are some of the richest in the world. How much Uranium One deal ore is coming out of Navajoland? And will the tailings go to Russia? Nope. Our land will continue to eat it.

So for now, I withdraw from any further debate on the matter until my fellows can acknowledge the political nature of the debate, address those issues rather than fixate on "although it is difficult to tell for sure, John B. Huckleberry has published that it was no less than 6 and no more than 50 people living in North America when Columbus landed."

Vine DeLoria didn't pull his number out of his ass. He was a scholar in his own right, an industry where charlatans abound--- even Red ones. When I first studied the situation, I read that number and it challenged everything I'd been taught and taken as fact.

And what it changed most was what it explained about the *MOTIVES* of colonial and provincial governments----- how the use of the vaunted and most sacred rule of law was put to use to exterminate entire peoples that many here and elsewhere have never heard of.

This is not some misplaced grievance on my part or an invitation to "get over it" (what happened the last time we discussed native issues). It is a what if scenario because so much of the past is hidden from view, especially for descendants of "settlers."

I have made so many friends here. And I don't proffer these comments to insult or degrade or devalue family histories that are different from my own. My relations are not just distant ancestral tales--- we are still here. And the "burden of the headcount" is finally lifting---- we are never going to reveal to anybody how many of us are living in one place. It doesn't mean we don't trust you--- it means we learned how to survive the collision of the old ways with the new.

Just speaking up here because talking on the fringes of "numbers and head counts" means little to me. Something this way came and it was driven by motive. What has come afterward to explain away much of what happened to so many is also driven by motive *TODAY*.

Respectfully,

Kev

"
In school they are being taught in school that there is no such thing as an illegal person."

True dat. Then Umbligo lights Bryce on fire burning him alive. And since there is no such thing as an illegal person, it follows that there cannot be illegal acts by children perpetrated on each other.

Besides, if we want to understand that there is in fact such a thing as an illegal person we need look no further that Hillary Clinton. She may not be convicted--- but she is sure shittin' and illegal *BEHAVING* person.

Later, Gators.

PS: RG----> Many happy birthday wishes to the "Dean of your Heart." You are one lucky man. And I *KNOW* you know that. :>)

"Start dancing on the pin, Angels."

Hmmm. There are international borders dividing the waterways. Doesn't everybody know this?

"The Saint Lawrence Seaway (French: la Voie Maritime du Saint-Laurent) is a system of locks, canals and channels in Canada and the United States that permit ocean-going vessels to travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes of North America, as far inland as the western end of Lake Superior."

Come on, CH.

anonamom,

I saw that! You can imagine the vituperative comments I am getting from the democrats. HA! As if I care!

More important to me is that Rex agrees with me! Hot damn!

Lot of truth in that statement KK.

The stuff Mrs. Buckeye is unearthing about our "settler" ancestors not quite like the 4th grade 'Murican history Mrs. Gray used to pound in my head:)

You know what? If you come to the U.S. and stay here illegally, you should be deported. It's not a punishment, it's a banishment. You made the decision to IGNORE our SOVEREIGNTY so ADIOS MF'ER.
What you choose to do with your property, family and/or children, is YOUR BUSINESS, not ours.

It's not real difficult.

Romney has been a sanctimonious prig all year IRT telling POTUS how to behave.

Do Mormons not have that "judge not, lest ye shall not be judged" thing going for them?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Buckeye,

My mom did a lot of family history research.

One great great uncle disowned his daughter because she married a no-account named John Wrigley. He went on to form the chewing gun company.

My grandmother's uncle, Louis Mossler, was involved in a lynching in Corydon. He got out of town on a fast horse ahead of the law enforcement people. He wound up in Oklahoma just in time to use that same horse to stake out a portion of what became downtown Tulsa. He came to visit us when I was about 4. I remember him in a white suit with a cane and a mustache. My mom was embarrassed because he insisted on poking people with the cane while saying, "Louis Mossler, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Who the hell are you?" (This was at the state fair in the livestock barns.)

Had a great uncle who ran a tavern and ended up knowing a lot of shady characters, including some of Al Capone's crowd.

I like learning this stuff, as people always tend to think that they come from saint-like stock. Au contraire.

At least in my family we come from a rowdy, raucous bunch who seem to have been just a half-step in front of the law.

Maybe this is why I sympathize with Trump. LOL!

anonamom,

I give you Jeff Flake, Glenn Beck, and Harry Reid.

I believe the "judge not" thing isn't in their scripture.

Court orders full restoration of DACA program

Ol' Yeller will go ballistic on this. Why is a black robed tyrant getting involved with one executive order replacing another? This was never established law passed by the House and Senate and signed by the President; it was Cock Curious doing something unilaterally which earlier he claimed, correctly, he couldn't do. Where was Judge Fuzznuts then?

People wonder why there's no respect for the law? This is Exhibit A. Fuck this shit.

MM----> I have no doubt.

Buckeye---> Enjoy the journey.

GUS----> BFAM! It was a joy to write that. Watched a Stevie Ray Vaughan "sound check" vid on YouTube... then an interview with Clapton about SRV right after his tragic death "he was the best in the world. We stood on stage that night watching him play. He was possessed."

Some Mormons have very strict behavioral guides.
Some are priggish.
Harry Reid doesn’t fit into either category and McMuffin doesn’t either.Drinking and cursing are off limits

maryrose,

I forgot about McMuffin!

Harry Reid weaponized his priggishness as a thuggish way to attack the GOP.

Man Tran---> if you pull in to ketchup here, I wanted to leave this report on Dr. Gundry--->

Have taken delivery of the Red and Green Apple flavored veggie supplements, and the prebiotics.

Two days stacking the supps, drinking 2 pints each and prebiotic twice (fiber)..... have lost 5 pounds in 2 days and lifted the front end of a transit bus to rescue a baby this morning.

Sweet Mother of Gawd.....i don't know if yer taking these supps, but they are damn good and pretty cheap. Made a cardiology appointment to see him in Palm Springs in June (Mrs. Kid said why wait til December?)

Anyways....happy trails. Give my regards to Dongola if you get called in :>)

It's as clear a day here as it was for our meet up.

Kev Out.

Come on, CH.

What did I say wrong by implying, without having looked up the particulars, that a territorial dispute between three nations would require the wisdom of Solomon to justly resolve once an appropriate venue can be agreed on by all three?

Alpine Valley, East Troy WI, very very close to me and to Henry. I also saw the STEVIE RAY sound check video QUITE COOL.
I'm sorry, but I going to admit that my fave SRV song is CROSSFIRE.
Then ending is spectacular.

Miss M, congrats on the Imp Rex retweet!

On known family rogues, my one grandfather (not the General) got expelled from Haverford and disowned. My grandmother got disowned for marrying him (family was generations of PA Supreme Court Judges plus owners of Pennsy Railroad). We all have them, few admit to it.

Yo, narciso. I haven't read the thread and won't until tomorrow (hopefully), but I'm gonna be in Miami and Key Biscayne this week. Are you still down there? If so, any coded email I could reach you at?

(I don't think I've seen any others claim that locale, but if so please advise.)

My grandmother got disowned for marrying him

My great-grandmother's family were prominent Christian Scientists and disowned her when she married a doctor.

As sad as it is, I sort of admire them for sticking to their principles. I believe they were sad about it, and they wrote letters, but they never saw her again.

She died young, of breast cancer. Her orphaned youngest son was the great-uncle I mentioned upthread.

Maybe you're right; if so that makes it even worse by stating you HAVE TO EXTEND something you didn't have anything to do with.
