Funny how the Fake News Media doesn’t want to say that the Russian group was formed in 2014, long before my run for President. Maybe they knew I was going to run even though I didn’t know!
Wray's only been FBI Dir. for 6 months. I see no reason to throw him out and bring in a new person at this point. Still waiting to see if Mueller changed the calling in tips process from local offices to DC during his 2001-2013 tenure or Comey during his 2013-2017.
Seems to me if we are requiring body cams on every podunk police department, they can darn well buy some video recorders for witness interviews at the FBI.
When I told my liberal daughter this she was dumbfounded. Surely the Justice Department should be required to do this!
Why not a cause of action that would provide preliminary and later permanent injunctive relief denying an individual the right to own or have access to guns when reasonable cause is shown. We used filings like this to limit strike activity to minimize violence in labor disputes.
It should not be that hard to define reasonable cause
The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the leading association for the construction industry. AGC represents more than 26,000 firms, including over 6,500 of America’s leading general contractors, and over 9,000 specialty-contracting firms. More than 10,500 service providers and suppliers are also associated with AGC, all through a nationwide network of chapters.
Why could not someone, public or private, seek a preliminary and later a permanent injunction denying someone like Cruz from owning or having access to guns. We used this type of relief to limit constitutionally protected strike activity to limit violence in labor strikes
No, Henry.
excel I had that in my notes--word crashed and lost my drafts at least 5 times, and in any event, I was really pushing the word limit so I had to leave it out.
2006 FBI Dir. Mueller announces "FBI restructuring" ...
"The Criminal Investigations Branch, headed as previously announced by Executive Assistant Director (EAD) Michael Mason, is composed of the Criminal Investigative Division, Cyber Division, Critical Incident Response Group, Office of International Operations, and the Office of Law Enforcement Coordination. Placing in one official the responsibility for criminal and cyber investigations, coordination with law enforcement, international operations, and crisis response, will ensure that the criminal programs receive strategic guidance and support, and that the FBI maintains its unparalleled level of excellence in criminal investigations." ... Easy to see how lowly local tip lines, answered by lowly local FBI agents got jettisoned in the new but not improved Land of Law Enforcement Coordination.
When my daughter showed me the tickets, they were on the floor, row 5 - which was fantastic! But, when we got there, there were no seats - it was just 'The Pit' - open floor. Thankfully it was limited to three hundred people and they did a great job of checking wrist bands, so it was not at all crowded. We stood at the very front - for almost four hours!!
It was her fiancé's first Widespread Panic show, her twentieth or so, and I've lost track of how many I've seen, but I've been following them for twenty-four years. We hadn't been in the pit for ten minutes when a Spreadhead offered us some 'free acid', saying that it was 'very clean'! I told him thanks, but I was trying to quit. lol
They opened with 'Pleas' - on of my all time favorite WP tunes - and performed other favorites including 'All Time Low', 'Space Wrangler', 'Diner', and 'Chilly Water'. They also covered 'Walk On' and 'No Sugar Tonight'. The first set was 68 minutes, the second 102 minutes, and 25 minutes of encores. That's a lot of performing for a band in which most are even older than me!!
I even got a free back massage from a very attractive spin hippie chick when I was grabbing us some more ($9) beers at halftime. We got back home at about 2:00 this morning and if I could get tickets, I'd be back down there this evening for their second show...

I am not sure that the announcement of the nothingburger Russian indictments on a Friday afternoon at the beginning of a long weekend and holiday week in the immediate wake of a horrific school shooting in which the FBI admittedly screwed the pooch was meant to distract from the FBI's screwing the pooch.

I certainly don't think it was done to distract us all from the REAL scandal in DC, which is that Rob Porter guy. (Anybody remember him?);-)
I've posted a couple of links about this same thing. From Aug. 2016 the "Mi Sueño, Tu Voto"—or "My Dream, Your Vote"— effort from the Hillary campaign.
"Astrid Silva, the 28-year-old illegal immigrant who railed against Donald Trump during a prime-time speaking slot at the Democratic National Convention, was featured in the Clinton campaign’s press release announcing the new "Dreamer" effort."...
"Silva is the organizing director of the Progressives Leadership Alliance of Nevada, a social and environmental justice group that is already involved in a massive campaign to register 400,000 Hispanic voters for the November election."....
Anyway, this article lists some of the organizations involved -
Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, Center for Community Change,

Been down to Daytona with Frederick. Everyone getting ready for tomorrow's 500. But we did the Tanger Outlet mall and not that close to the speedway.
First, the National Constructors Association are the big boys like my ex-firm, Fluor, Brown and Root, Shaw, etc. They spend more in PAC money than all the AGC and ABC contractors combined. IOW's they have a listening audience at Congress. But it is the industry associations like the Association of Road and Transportatioin Builders (ARTBA) who will lead the way in corralling all the entities and doing the scheduling of visits to the Senate and House members.
If this bill ends up with a significant private finance initiative then the Goldman Sachs, MacQauire's, RBC, etc. get involved and you then have the perfect storm of engineers, contractors, bankers, consultants, lawyers and all the ancillary hanger on's. Swapping the Gucci loafer for a nice pair of Timberland work boots.
So, nevertrump hypocrites, Erickson & Jonah are freaking about Trump "sexing", maybe...with another beautiful woman chasing a billionaire/celeb.i.e.---they called it dating in past....but those two simps still don't get NO ONE voted for DJT because of "morals".
Heck, Bush I & Ii both womanized.. LBJ was nasty, Clinton & Kennedy treated women like pigs, assaulting--blackmailing--paid off, etc.
And Obama drugged, caroused with terrorists & communists while metro-sexing into an A-sexual emperor with no clothes....but, whaaa, 😂Trump.
Those two were especially misogynistic and cut-throat to Sarah Palin, while they drooled over banal duds like !Jeb and Romney ( sorry, maryrose)
Trump is brash, too concerned about popularity, unschooled in kissazz political speak..but it's why USA needed him to be President. He wants to win, prove you wrong for doubting him and independently wealthy enough to not weaken to choom gangs of political destruction, corruption.(Swamp )
The DNC announced that an illegal alien has been tapped as one of their super delegates!! Seriously, what the heck?! I recognize that it's a private entity, but isn't casting a vote as a delegate considered interference from a foreign country since she's a Mexican citizen?
Not that I don't support them doing this - I do - because it tells middle America once again that the dems love them some illegals...
This is what dangerously obese congressman Jerrold Nadler put out as a press release Today:
"Given the facts alleged in this indictment, not even President Trump should doubt that the Russian government’s effort to subvert our last election was real, that the conspiracy was aimed at helping the Trump campaign and damaging Hillary Clinton, and that Russian operatives were both present in the United States and aided by co-conspirators on the ground.
“That last point should be repeated: these thirteen defendants worked ‘with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury’ to defraud the United States. The indictment does not identify these co-conspirators. I suspect their names will be known to us soon.
“Today’s indictments should lay to rest any assertions by President Trump that the Special Counsel’s investigation is a ‘hoax’ or a ‘witch hunt.’ At this point, any step President Trump may take to interfere with the Special Counsel’s investigation—including removing Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, or threatening to remove Special Counsel Mueller directly—will have to be seen as a direct attempt to aid the Russian government in attacking American democracy.”
The Republicans should seize on this: "If there were ever any doubt that the Democrat Party's allegations of a vast Russian conspiracy to subvert the election with the "collusion" of the Trump Campaign was anything more than a fig leave to cover their own effort to subvert the will of the American electorate by harrassing the President of the United States with a fraudulently ginned-up Special Counsel and threats to charge anyone who dare challenge it with "obstruction," Congressman Nadler's statement should lay those doubts to rest."
"Clarice, is the rest of the McCarthy article this muddle headed?"
I was just about to post that except for McCarthy's requisite fawning in that line, it's actually a pretty good piece and worth reading. Just skip that sentence.:)
After all thse faux Americans (i.e. Russians) on "The Facebook", I'm not going to write another check until all "The Facebook" users are federally registered with background and citizenship checks.
Jimmyk, Clarice... I read on. The naive belief that all federal agents are above reproach fills every sentence. What they law says should happen did not. This was intended by some person, one of those angelic federal agents. All the procedures in the universe do not protect us from bad people— especially when bad people get cover from their job title. McCarthy is blinded by his pride in once having that title as his own. Yes he wrote a nice description of a tree. Completely misses the forest.

The police department in the town of Sand Point is nearly back to full size after all its officers quit last year.
The surprising part is that the new chief and three officers all live thousands of miles away. They fly into the fishing village on an island off the Alaska Peninsula in shifts — working two weeks straight and then taking two weeks off, like many oil workers on the North Slope...Henning then shook up how the department handled staffing.
He hired three people from Outside — two from Washington and one from Colorado. Combined, they have decades of law enforcement experience...
Daddy - I refuse to watch the Olympics again until they put an end to the sexist practice of separate so-called ‘mens’ and ‘womens’ events.
It’s high time all those identifying as female were allowed - may, compelled - to compete head-to-head with males, both at the Games themselves and of course in qualifying for it.
If some Neanderthals still wish to know who is, for example, the fastest female skater, they can then find out which female came closest to actually making it to the Games.
Sorted!
Daddy,
Funny you posted that. I was just texting to my Chief to do something about the new snow falling. I don’t think he’s going to fix the problem. :)
I hate my 12 hr day shifts. Don’t think I’d like a 2 week day shift.
When I was in Indonesia I used to to have to out to the rigs for our pipeline project. Most of the old time riggers and roustabouts were making anywhere's from $250K to $400K a year working 30days on and 30 days off plus free 1st class PanAm or JAL back home to Houston. A lot of them lived in the Woodlands, if you are Houstonian, you know what that means.
Not bad but on a rig, you are working and on alert 24/7. Still for those guys well worth it.
Heh. I like pairs skating, Henry. The women in particular are so graceful and beautiful, but it can't last after Bruce and Bruce take the gold next time around.
JiB,
The two weeks off would be nice. It’s an interesting solution to what seems to be a serious problem in the bush in AK. I hope it works for them. It’s definitely something to consider since I plan on retiring in 5 years.

Few people were questioning the Russian interference with and hacking of the election.
Er. Hacking? I guess I'm one of the few.
I used to think higher of Turley. How about this line?
If Mueller ultimately finds no collusion, it could not only clear Trump but could even lead him to consider the use of his pardon power for individuals like Flynn.
How can someone find "no collusion"? You either find something or you don't. You don't find that something doesn't exist.
I guess what Turley means is that Mueller might pack it in at some point - maybe years from now - but until then he hasn't "found no collusion."
Turley also implies, imo, that if even one lowly Trump sign-hander-outer knew that one of these Russians was Russian, we will have found collusion.
Yes. Per Turley (or McCarthy, etc) the onus is on Trump to prove the negative, else Mueller must keep looking. These so called elite lawyer types are mentally ill.
Another advantage to capturing the shooter alive is that the survivors can see justice done through the criminal justice system, when they see the murderer convicted and sentenced in court.
I wouldn’t be so quick to that assumption. We’ve all seen slam dunk cases go sideways. My PD has been fighting one for 5 years.
TIME Mag headline: "'He's the Winner of the Olympics.' Adam Rippon Stole Everyone's Hearts During the Olympics
I have to be honest. Adam Rippon did not steal my heart.

And since you guys are so untalkative today I guess I'lI have to go peddle like a hamster at the gym and watch CNN on the overhead to see what the hell is really going on.
"Yes he wrote a nice description of a tree. Completely misses the forest."
Despite all that he makes a strong case for why there never should have been a Special Counsel, and that this was all Obama's mission to weaken Trump.
In addition to the line you quoted earlier, I found it annoying that he blames Trump's handling of the Comey firing for the naming of the SC. Like it's his fault that there are all these snakes in the grass lying in wait for any opportunity to try to take him down.

How an Alaska fishing town rebuilt its police department after all its officers quit

Sorted!

But would you like the 2 week's off that follow?
When I was in Indonesia I used to to have to out to the rigs for our pipeline project. Most of the old time riggers and roustabouts were making anywhere's from $250K to $400K a year working 30days on and 30 days off plus free 1st class PanAm or JAL back home to Houston. A lot of them lived in the Woodlands, if you are Houstonian, you know what that means.
Not bad but on a rig, you are working and on alert 24/7. Still for those guys well worth it.

I'm not sure how to read Nadler's statement. Bluster in the face of certain defeat, or confidence that Mueller has their backs?
I'm fairly certain that Mueller is partisan anti-Trump, and I think the indictments support that thinking, so maybe Nadler's on to something.

Turley:
Er. Hacking? I guess I'm one of the few.
I used to think higher of Turley. How about this line?
How can someone find "no collusion"? You either find something or you don't. You don't find that something doesn't exist.
I guess what Turley means is that Mueller might pack it in at some point - maybe years from now - but until then he hasn't "found no collusion."
Turley also implies, imo, that if even one lowly Trump sign-hander-outer knew that one of these Russians was Russian, we will have found collusion.
Posted by: Extraneus | February 17, 2018 at 06:33 PM
Yes. Per Turley (or McCarthy, etc) the onus is on Trump to prove the negative, else Mueller must keep looking. These so called elite lawyer types are mentally ill.
