Comey might think of hiding under that tent Bathtub Dive was wearing in India; although that might make more queasy than ever.

Frau Fastenzeit

Queasy sez: "Mr. President, the American people will hear my story..."

He's truthful about its being a story.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

daddy,

I hadn't noticed that! I think Sally Yates is a good guess.

matt - deplore me if you must

Strozk gone. Page gone. Comey gone. McCabe gone. You'd think there was a scandal or something.

As to Mueller I think we can rationally say that it has descended to Monty Python Spanish Inquisition level.

Not one of these jerks—you know who I’m referring to—must have the slightest acquaintance with the concept of what follows after hubris. I hope and pray it dumps on them like a ton of bricks.

McCabe was fired because 1) an IG investigation demanded by Democrats that was 2) directed by an Obama IG appointee resulted in 3) a recommendation from the FBI's ethics office that McCabe be terminated. Yet Democrats and NeverTrumpers believe this was a Trumpian conspiracy.

There is most definitely a group of addled political activists in this country who desperately cling to wild conspiracy theories with no evidentiary basis. Unfortunately for the American public, many of these unhinged kooks work for major media outlets or the federal government.

Not one of these jerks—you know who I’m referring to—must have the slightest acquaintance with the concept of what follows after hubris.

I'm with you Lyle. I recall the old slogan come's from I think Euripides (the ancient Greek tragediest not killed by a falling illegal turtle:)

Those whom the Gods would destroy they first make mad."

It's refreshing to see McCabe and Brennen so mad.

daddy

daddy--not sure about that. We are getting snippets of emails and I think it's unclear...

I'll buy that Clarice. It is nice though to know that they are discussing how to break the Law with a female. Pretty much at the FBI, besides Page, all the players I can think of are boys. If these 2 are sitting around running their conspiracy through a female it tells us ether that there's a female at the FBI involved which simply expands the circle of conspirators at that Agency, or it's somebody from the DOJ. It'd have to be somebody in one of those agencies if they're discussing such Top Secret stuff, and it's have to be somebody they trust. I focused on Yates of the DOJ because I still have that niggling reminder in my head that IIRC, Yates came out and said Strzok was amazingly valuable to America in fighting our enemies and it was terrible that he was being ousted from protecting us. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she was in on the plot. Et tu, Sally Yates?"

I'd love it if Strzok was also having an affair with Sally Yates. I mean, if you're going to stick your wick in the company inkwell one time, why not twice:)

From McCabe's statement:

“I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor,” McCabe stated. “As deputy director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter.”

And from Comey's testimony to the Grassley committee:

“Never,” Comey said when committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley asked him if he’d “ever been an anonymous source in news reports in matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation.”

Grassley then asked if Comey had ever authorized anyone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source on these topics, and he said “no.”

McCabe's statement claimed that Comey was "aware" of the leaking, yet the Grassley question wasn't about awareness, but whether Comey had ever "authorized" leaking. McCabe claims that he had his own authority to leak, so of course he wouldn't have needed to be "authorized" by Comey in any particular instance.

Mueller's or just gossip?

Vanessa Trump has hired a criminal defense attorney to represent her in her divorce from Donald Trump Jr. just as special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed the president’s family business.

White Plains, NY-based lawyer David Feureisen is representing Vanessa, according to paperwork filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Vanessa and Don Jr. had claimed in a joint statement that their split after 12 years of marriage was not acrimonious. “It’s a curious choice if it’s an amicable separation,” Manhattan family law expert Bonnie Rabin said of Vanessa’s attorney. “If it’s an amicable situation, you wouldn’t be highlighting the criminal aspect,” noted Rabin, who is not involved in the case.

Feureisen did not return calls requesting comment.

However, a spokeswoman for Vanessa insisted, “Vanessa’s attorney is someone whom she and her family have known for over 20 years. He practices in many areas of the law and … is not a criminal defense attorney. ”

“[T]his could easily spin further out of control. There was one line in McCabe’s statement last night that I immediately flagged. Because he said that he had authority to do this and he conferred with the director. The director at that time was James Comey. Now, the problem there is that James Comey said under oath that he never leaked information and never approved a leak. So, if the inspector general believes this was a leak to the media, it raises serious questions about Comey’s previous testimony and could get him into serious trouble.”

Calling America ‘Land of Opportunity’ Is a ‘Microaggression’ Says University of California

The Academic Affairs department of the University of California Santa Cruz provides the list of politically incorrect expressions and actions to students and faculty to equip them to recognize microaggressions and eliminate them.

Examples of allegedly “racist” microaggressions furnished by the university include statements such as: “When I look at you, I don’t see color,” “There is only one race, the human race,” and “America is a melting pot.”

It is also a microaggression to say that “the most qualified person should get the job” or to express doubts about the effectiveness of Affirmative Action programs, the website claims. Moreover, to say that “America is the land of opportunity” propagates the “myth of meritocracy,” as do statements such as “Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work hard enough.”

In a brilliant article in Forbes during the 2016 presidential campaign, the celebrated British historian Paul Johnson called political correctness “one of the most dangerous intellectual afflictions ever to attack mankind.”

PC has “enormous appeal to the semieducated,” Johnson observed, and it “appeals to pseudo-intellectuals everywhere, since it evokes the strong streak of cowardice notable among those wielding academic authority nowadays.”

“Any empty-headed student with a powerful voice can claim someone (never specified) will be ‘hurt’ by a hitherto harmless term, object or activity and be reasonably assured that the dons and professors in charge will show a white feather and do as the student demands,” he said.

“Thus, there isn’t a university campus on either side of the Atlantic that’s not in danger of censorship,” he concluded.

So does this from McCabe's new lawyer imply that they'll go after the Honorable Sanctimonious One?

“The announcement by the Justice Department’s inspector general that his office will look into FBI Director James B. Comey’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s emails reopens painful questions about the 2016 election, but it is also welcome news,” Bromwich wrote in the Washington Post on January 14, 2017. “The investigation will address allegations that Comey violated established Justice Department and FBI policies and procedures in his July 5, 2016, public announcement concerning the Hillary Clinton email investigation. And it will explore allegations that Comey’s Oct. 28 and Nov. 6 letters to Congress, which jolted the presidential election — and may have changed its outcome — were improper.”

RG,

Getting your legs measured is a good idea.

I had a problem with my left knee about 20 years ago. Turns out that one leg was a smidge longer than the other one. The right leg was shorter, maybe because I kept my wallet in my right back pocket, I don't know, can't think of any other reason.

And I was pronating. Long story short - I now wear New Balance sneaks designed to counter pronation, orthotic arch supports, and a 1/4 inch heel lift on the right.

Part of the tip-off was walking in suburbia with level sidewalks was fine. Walking NYC streets with the pitched sidewalks to funnel rain away from the buildings, was problematic. Walk one side of the street, everything is good, walk the other side of the street and the knee hurt.

In the interim, russian mercenaries attacked US soldiers, Putin kills on US allies soil with impugnity, and russia has hacked critical US infastructure with zero response.

Hi, all--Happy St. Patrick's Day! Went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art today (great) and on my way back stopped at an Irish pub where there were great revels and the wearing of the green. I was in academic black, so I plucked some evergreen fronds for my hair (I vividly remember being pinched in elementary school if I forgot to wear green). Nice room service lady just a bit ago was without green, so we transferred hair adornments (I am burrowing in till tomorrow and thus don't need them)--she looked nice.
