Maybe new NSA Bolton will deliver a Nixon-to-China endorsement, or at least grumbled acceptance, of the Iran deal? Here's hopng! Or maybe we can be scuffling with North Korea, Iran and China without a Secretary of State.

porch-i made lamb shanks wednesday night for dinner. I just brown them all over after salting and then put in a chopped onion in a dutch oven with a liquid that is one part red wine vinegar to two parts chicken broth as needed to braise at 275 for about 3 hours.
The lamb comes right off the bone and does well with baked potato where the meat and sauce can go inside or oven roasted garlic potatoes where it can create a kind of hash.

When does Trump sign the multidimensional omnibus? It passed the Senate last night.
Part of Limbaugh's reasoning that this is an establishment trap is the silence of the nevertrumpers. As they say in the B movies, "quiet... too quiet."
If Trump does the right thing and vetoes this disaster, how quickly will 4D "he negotiated and got what he wanted" be replaced with 4D "he tricked the media and did what what we expected?"

To those interested, the bone marrow creates random antibodies to attack outside invaders. All of them run a gauntlet. Those that recognize your own body are not let into the bloodstream. In my wife’s case, one snuck out.
That IGg antibody attacks Aquaporin 4, the protein that lets water in and out of the myelin cells that sheath nerves. No sheath and the nerves stop working. NMO antibodies attack either the spinal cord (our case) or the optic nerve.
Our job is to tone down the immune response for the next 7-10 years until scientists figure out the key pattern (of 100,000?) for that version of IGg. (Each has two keys sites). When we do, we create a cover to neutralize one or both sites (without compromising other activities) or take it out.
This pass we are filtering it out with plasma pherisis (like dialysis).
Otherwise, we are healthy. As a friend once said when faced with medical adversity, we are blessed and we are happy.

The SoS is the president's representative. It is his, and other political appointees, job to make sure the president's policies are carried out.
The problem, in many cases, is the SoS accepts the State Department mandarins views and does not push ahead with the policies.

Good Morning and way behind but I like A'mom's take here:
So----putting this together this morning as I catch up---
at some leveql, women are all about alpha males. Not pajama boys.
The alphas have the dominant/good genes; can protect vulnerable women and infants and toddlers...
And alpha males are about strutting their stuff, at least now and then.
Showing a picture of Stormy back in the day---well, she certainly looks "healthy," like she could nurse a baby through a famine or two, and get your genes procreated.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Posted by Anonamom
There you go. I think Anonamom's comment on women having a positive take on Trump probably having sex with a young good looking Stormy Danials is probably true. The Left worshipped JFK and Bill Clinton because of their daliances, not in spite of them. Its hypocritical now to pretend they're "shocked, shocked, that gambling has been going on at RicK:'s Cafe in Casablanca."

4D chess is the new "epic."
Overused.
It is because a standard answer that replaces reality. Yesterday the 4D chess move was that Trump was getting what he wanted. Now it is the answer to him fighting out of a corner.
I suppose Mark Short and Mick Mulvanney are pleased with the pawn positions they took in yesterday 4D chess move. Remember? It went something like this "Trump has to show support so he can fund and not fund what he wants to after he gets the bill signed."
Today's Veto Talk 4D chess move costs Short and Mulvanney some credibility.
When I was a kid and my dad didn't want to invest any time explaining something to me he would say "it's magic!"
"Dad, how does the dishwasher work?"
"It's magic!"
This whole 4D for everything is boy crying wolf at its best. When he actually pulls a real 4D move, that isn't him just covering his ass, everyone's sides will be too numb to appreciate it.
Sometimes it isn't magic. Sometimes it is common sense. This bill pissed off more than 800,000 illegals and Trump needs to acknowledge that. So do his superfans.

I think this is hilarious--When Pence is super clean he's a trotten Christianist prude and that's bad for women. when Clinton and JFK are whoring about, it's just a s gin of their charismatice masculinity. when a prostitute accuses Trump of having had sexual relations with her about 10 years ago, it's Bad Bad Bad and women should rise up in indignant fury. Maybe women voters are just having shiplash

All this last minute rush to pass bills brings bad stuff with it.
Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) and Assembly Republicans offered a bill that Vos says would do in Wisconsin what Congress appears poised to do nationally: tap into a federal database to expand background checks to long guns. Information would be shared through the National Instant Criminal Background System Section (NICS) managed by the FBI.

Clarice, the media has no desire to parse.
It sees no benefit to promoting understanding.
Evidence? If it did, it would.
Posted by: Sbw | March 23, 2018 at 09:43 AM
Otherwise some good stuff here:
Among other reforms, the bill takes on the escalating costs of discovery, or the pre-trial, evidence-gathering process. The legislation updates and brings Wisconsin in line with federal civil code on discovery, disclosure, and class actions.
The bill would make Wisconsin one of the first states in the nation to bring transparency to litigation financing. These big bets on big litigation payouts are done in the shadows by law firms and investors who provide plaintiffs upfront cash in return for pushing potentially hefty-settlement lawsuits.
On yet another party-line vote, the Assembly passed legislation aimed at bringing statewide uniformity to employment law.

OT,
Am just about to finish that book about the WW2 German Fight Pilot who in an unexpected act of humanity and herorism flew very close formation on the grievously wounded US B-17 Bomber, so that the German ground gunners along the north German coast wouldnt be able to shoot the plane down:
So in reading that and discussing passages in it with my copilot, he told me that his grandad was a glider pilot in WW2; did a number of flights into enemy territory, and then after basically crash landing his mission was to scurry as quick as possible back to friendly territory so he could do it again. Fascinating tales and he later showed me this Obituary of his granddad, a bit of which I'll paste here because I found this bit so interesting:
Albuquerque Journal - April 27, 2003
Lt. Col. Robert H. Price (USAF retired), 83, born October 20, 1919 in Lawrence, Kansas, died April 23, 2003 in Chandler, Arizona. A Funeral Service will be held at the Berardinelli Funeral Home in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2003 followed by an Interment Service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mr. Price graduated from the University of Kansas in 1941 and spent the next 27 years in the Army Air Corps/U. S. Air Force, starting as a Glider Pilot in World War II where he earned distinction as the only Glider Pilot to destroy a German anti-aircraft gun emplacement by landing his glider on top of the gunpit while it was attempting to shoot down other aircraft in his formation. He later transitioned to powered flight, piloting various Air Force aircraft to include a combat tour flying the B-26 aircraft in the Korean War. His military decorations include the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Air Medal...
Amazing.

And the image he has been presenting for the past 2 years is that of a sneering, snobbish jerk who absolutely despises the President, his supporters, and everyone whom he considers genera him, which based on
his columns is pretty much everyone.
If he doesn’t want me to think that, he has the power to change it by not presenting himself that way in his writings.

The better bet, TK, and the better take (in fact) is as it has been since the election: follow the lead of Donald Trump.
I highly doubt this is an OOPS, Y'ALL ARE MAD SO I'VE CHANGED MY MIND situation. We shall see how this ends up, and whether there is some strategery involved. Some faking of the funk thrown in with some magnificent bait.
Arguing for strategery is his consistent and constant focus on DACA, likely because he sees it as a bigtime weakness of the Democrats and their preferred midterm strategy. Much like Sessions' recusal denying a narrative the Democrats DESPERATELY WANTED TO FLOG . . . surely you can see the same thing in play here.
It's hard to see how this can be seen as anything but a brilliant political play that threatens his adversaries in both political parties.
Correct?

Mrs NorCal says she heard it was possible to retire early at, say, 62 and get 1/2 payment of spouse's SocSec (that would be a check for one half of my monthly) then at 65 switch over and get a full payment from her own SocSec earnings.
But now, she said, she's heard that was disallowed. The switchover part is no longer allowed.

Guess I'm going to have to quit Firefox. Every time I open a new window they have three bespoke, curated links at the top of the page that they seem to think, spuriously, I might enjoy reading. I don't recall offhand a single conservative or libertarian link.
I do however recall several like today's link to some joint pretentiously named Aeon.
Today's curation?
Communism really wasn't that bad once you separate the theft from the mountain of corpses. Just in case it isn't clear the theft was the not so bad part.
That link also led me to a celebration of A future just, green and free, under a tree named Karl Marx, which is just as romantically and nostalgically awful as it sounds and a celebration of;
Ottoman sexual practices in which we learn a system wherein men were viewed as superior to the other two genders, women and boys [yeah, you read that right], who were the objects of the men's demands was really pretty damned enlightened and can teach us much about how repressive our Western system is.
F Firefox.

The outfit that decided its founder was doubleunplusgood, the last straw was some nasty malware that popped up through their firewall.

Is there never a situation that can be acknowledged as Trump just changing his mind rather than a devastatingly brilliant plan conceived in a manner that would make Ernst Blofeld envious?

So don't read him Iggy, and don't accuse him of things you know nothing about - like being a liberal, or disdainful, because you don't have a clue. We've been thru this before. It's like me declaring your brother is the nicest guy in the world.

I like Chrome, Ig, except for the fact that it's Google and wants you to sign in, thereby tracking you. Vivaldi is based on the same software, and supports Chrome extensions (such as Killfile). Unfortunately, one of my favorite extensions doesn't work right in Vivaldi, but you might like it. Fast and customizable.
