“I mean this family, whatever else you think of the Bushes, were a family that was wall-to-wall decent… good to people… considerate of others,” Toobin said. “And I’m sorry, I just keep thinking of Donald Trump in the White House who has none of the qualities that the Bushes have. It’s just a sign of how different this country is now than it was not that many years ago.”
"Mr. President, let me ask you a little about the news because, of course, last week we saw President Trump pardon Scooter Libby," Bartiromo asked.
"Yeah good," Bush responded.
President Donald Trump has pardoned I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, former aide to former Vice President Dick Cheney, of convictions related to his 2007 trial.
"Your reaction?" Martiromo asked.
"I am happy for Scooter and his family," Bush answered.
Bartiromo then asked Bush if he saw the Wall Street Journal editorial board headline that described Libby as the solider "left behind on the battlefield."
"Did you see the the Wall Street Journal headline saying Scooter Libby was the soldier left on the battlefield?" Bartiromo asked.
"No, I didn't see that. I am sure he's got some friends in the editorial board there, and you know, as I said, I am happy for his family and for Scooter," Bush said.

BREAKING NEWS: Island-wide blackout hits Puerto Rico, which suffering unstable power grid following hurricane
henry,
It was an unstable power grid before the hurricane. The generating plants were huge sieves of corruption and pay-to-play procurements. The money for maintainability went into individuals pockests. The transmission and distribution systems were "ditto the above".
Now trying to restore it with better equipment, more stable transmission and distribution in a very mountainous, remote environment creates your own disruptions out of necessity to install everything and test it. My associates and I consulted for the current governor's father, Pedro, when he was elected Governor back in '93 and told him he needed to fix it then. Crickets!
BTW, Pedro is a graduate of Notre Dame and Yale Medical. I think Roberto is a golden domer also.
The WSJ, while slipping in some snark about Trump, rakes Comey, including this:
The former director recoils that Mr. Trump once asked for his “loyalty” but within the law that is perfectly legitimate. As the Supreme Court said about executive officials in Myers v. U.S. (1926), “The moment that” a President “loses confidence in the intelligence, ability, judgment or *loyalty* of any of them, he must have the power to remove him without delay.”

A new book argues Democrats should take on radical strategies to cement power.
In his new book, It’s Time to Fight Dirty, the Week’s David Faris argues that Democrats have no choice but to pursue strategies aimed at tilting the balance of power perhaps permanently in their favor. The ideas he advances go far beyond age-old proposals like eliminating the Electoral College. Faris would have the next Democratic Congress and president, for instance, create several new Democratic-leaning states and pack the Supreme Court with new seats for liberal justices.
“He should’ve been fired by Barack Obama…not by President Trump,” Davis asserted. (RELATED: John Podesta: Comey Is An ‘Idiot’)
“Everybody knows that an FBI investigator, an FBI director, is not allowed to talk about the evidence and disparage somebody without charging them,” Davis said. “You know why he gets to violate those rules? Because he is James Comey.”
“It’s about I, I, I, I [with Comey]” he said. “It’s only about James Comey…he should’ve been fired.”
$18 billion big ones, henry. Latest "Grant" which is loan you don't have to pay back, right?
BTW, I am dealing with a little 6 degrees of separation today. With Barbara Bush's passing, I am reminded that her husband #41's grandfather was George Herbert Walker, ex-President of the USGA and who they named the Walker Cup after. George Herbert Walker is one of the distinguished graduates of Stonyhurst College in England, where my great-grandfather was the Cricket and gymnastics coach. We are even investigating sending Frederick there since his school is closing.
Oliver Cromwell spent a night laying on a table in full armor in one of the early buildings:). It wasn't a Jesuit college there yet since they ran off to St. Omer (French Flanders) during the Elizabethan rule. Strange history of that school.

There were very few stories in the MSM about Robin when Bush was a candidate in 2000 and 2004, or during his presidency. Most Americans probably learned about her yesterday or today.

I guess being tracked down by the alumni committee has at least one advantage since I got a copy of the DeMatha Red & Blue Review magazine. Incredible the number of Stags in high exposure positions such as a picture of NBA reporter David Aldridge with Victor Oladipo. Was sad to read about the death of my classmate, Sid Catlett (named after the drummer), who battled against Lew Alcindor in the 1965 victory over Power Memorial that gave the school, and coach Morgan Wootten, national prominence.
The mere fact that none of us has been told in detail of the coming indictments and prosecutions or -- my goodness, guilty pleas! -- is not evidence of nothing happening.
To the contrary, it's evidence of learned professionals doing their job.

With the out of the blue revelation that Pompeo met with Rocket Man inside NK, that tells me that everything of game breaking significance that the Trump administration is doing behind the scenes is leak proof until Trump wants the information made public. IMO this includes the current strategic plan for Syria as well as the Horowitz/Huber IG investigations.
"Security" is a principle of war and IMO what we are seeing with an administration full of generals and admirals is INFOSEC and OPSEC getting practiced at the highest levels.
The announcement follows Holder’s remark Tuesday night that he is “thinking about” running for President, adding, “I have not made any decisions on it.” Holder continued that he believes “our democracy is under attack. If you look at the question of gerrymandering, the question of voter suppression,” he noted, “a lot of these things are falling by the wayside.”
When I read her book she told the story of hearing W tell his friends he couldn't play because he had to stay with his sad mom.
My personal opinion of W, whom I supported fiercely during his 2 campaigns, is a bit different looking back on it. I think he was gullible and deferred too much to guys who had been friends of his dad's or who had been in DC a long time. I don't think he really understood the money that was swirling around, nor the creepiness of some of those people.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Gowdy just made formal request for FBI, IG, DOJ to look into coordination of Comey coordination in Clinton Email Investigation
==========================
This is separate from the letter sent by the 11 representatives I posted towards the end of the last thread.
Larry Schweikhart thinks that Congressional referrals are a way to get around Sessions being accused of politization. I am not sure about that, since you can be standing like a lump not doing anything and the democrats will attack you. (You guys convinced me about my press statement on raids.)
Treytor Gowdmouth probably knows of some lawyerly trick where the DoJ can cite "no comment on a pending investigation" to the Congressional 11 if they open his letter first.
Here is a twitter thread from Vachel Lindsay (Imperator Rex) that has some intertwined tweet threads from other people (TK’s favorite tracybeanz is one) trying to connect a lot of dots involving Michael Cohen He thinks Trump officially cut ties with Michael Cohen before he took office because he found out Cohen was dirty due to connections with Sater and Deripaska.
Those are wasted votes in New York unless they go to sbw territory and upset the balance or come out here and do what the Manhattanites have done, turn the South Fork from red to blue. I think Zeldin is still safe because the Dems will kill each other in the primary.
Which they wouldn't need if we're getting the blue wave they say we're getting (regular Americans who are appalled by Trump).
Meanwhile R candidates all over the place are advertising as the most MAGA guy/gal in the country. Even to the point of faking Trump/Pence endorsements.
All of the prosecution's picks are retired judges who served in the Southern District of New York with minimal political connections. Their names are James Francis, Frank Maas and Theodore Katz.
Last night, Cohen's legal team submitted four suggestions: Bart Schwartz, Joan McPhee, Tai Park and George Canellos - all of whom appear to be working defense attorneys.
Judge Wood will ultimately decide who will be appointed to the "special master" role after reviewing the nominees.
Can anyone read this article on Tony Podesta? Its behind the WSJ paywall. Just curious about the timing of it. Its been a while since I saw anything from the MSM about him.

Deplorable FOR TRUMP
@iowa_trump
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Gowdy just made formal request for FBI, IG, DOJ to look into coordination of Comey coordination in Clinton Email Investigation
==========================

Seems like anytime we express our values, they (and GOPe like Paul Ryan) say:
"That's not who we are."

This was my thought long ago with Manafort and as soon as Cohen got jammed I suggested the same.
I staked out the position that if Mueller's meeting with Trump was of a pro Trump variety it was so Trump could give Mueller a hit list.

Looks like the blue wave is felons & illegals.
Which they wouldn't need if we're getting the blue wave they say we're getting (regular Americans who are appalled by Trump).
Meanwhile R candidates all over the place are advertising as the most MAGA guy/gal in the country. Even to the point of faking Trump/Pence endorsements.

So you and tracybeanz have the same position on Cohen. Imagine that.
I staked out the position that if Mueller's meeting with Trump was of a pro Trump variety it was so Trump could give Mueller a hit list.
How long ago did you stake out this position? You might have been a 4D chess/Mueller is a White Hat proponent before RG was.

Can anyone read this article on Tony Podesta? Its behind the WSJ paywall. Just curious about the timing of it. Its been a while since I saw anything from the MSM about him.

Tom R, tortured art collector that illegally used his com, pany to buy his art, kept the art after his divorce, sold part of his company to employees to keep the art (2014), got clients without reporting them to his company, expected a Hillary win to pay off all his debts. Then Mueller happened. No clients, no money, "sell the art collection to pay rent" but no. Instead he gave hmself an advance and let the firm miss payroll then closed the business.
poorly written article with no real point except Tony liked art.

Months ago. I will check later. Doing brakes on my wife's car right now.

Yet he isn't facing an indictment, and he represented much larger fish like sberbank and uranium one.
If he isn't facing any indictments, does the article explain why Podesta resigned from his lobbying firm?
Posted by: Tom R | April 18, 2018 at 02:28 PM
See what o mean, it falls apart upon examination, it would fail as an episode of the blacklists.
Posted by: narciso | April 18, 2018 at 02:32 PM
Tom R, all his clients quit because he sold them on access to Hillary and she lost.
Posted by: henry | April 18, 2018 at 02:34 PM
Plus he basically embezzled all the firm funds for his art, and they ran out of cash for payroll, rent, etc.
