TK, I’d run the free version of Malwarebytes and do a quickscan of the computer, and let it clean whatever it finds.

Always have some kind of updated anti-virus program. I have found Norton to be very good. But Malwarebytes is a great program and can often find some malware that others might miss, especially some tracking cookies and pop-up window malware.

Always be careful downloading and installing shareware and iffy 3rd party software.

TK, the Norton 360 or Norton Security Suite are great products, and usually include A/V, firewall, mail scanning, pop-up blockers, anti-phishing, and password mgmt tools. They’ll do a great job protecting you.

But I have found that the free version of Malwarebytes is a great secondary tool, especially when used to perform scans periodically or when you think you have a problem. You can buy their full product and use their real-time protection tools, but I personally have just preferred to use Norton.

McAfee used to be good, but have had problems with it lately. And they make it incredibly difficult to get off of their auto-renew.

Whenever I found a need for a root scan or boot sector virus scan, Kaspersky was the go-to tool for that. But now I worry about A/V software coming out of Russia! LOL

It's true. My father had 1 1/2 blue eyes, the bottom of the right eye was brown-pigmented. Very rare condition. He got it playing HS football. Somehow he managed to get kicked in the eye and the resulting damage caused the lower part of the iris to turn brown.
