OK, I'm back! Although I had no trouble with other sites I have not been able to get on to Typepad for a few days. They did have some scheduled maintenance, so maybe it was a long 4/20 break. Or maybe I had some weird ISP issue from multiple home computers.

"The New York Times and a third rate reporter named Maggie Haberman, known as a Crooked H flunkie who I don’t speak to and have nothing to do with, are going out of their way to destroy Michael Cohen and his relationship with me in the hope that he will “flip.”'
Why would Michael Cohen........ "flip" if you're innocent, Mr.President?
We know that he's going to prison for a long, long time, but if you yourself are innocent then you've absolutely nothing to worry about.

CSPAN telecasting Barbara Bush's funeral at noon eastern time.
Had a rebroadcast of a fabulous interview she gave in 2013 from 10-10:45. What a gift from beyond to hear her today.
She said, when asked about her faith:
"I am not afraid of death. A good thing at my age! I know there is a great God...I know we'll see Robin again, one way or another."

Posted by: Old Lurker | April 21, 2018 at 11:11 AM
Old Lurker,
As near as I can tell, a bunch of them were hoping Cohen would spill some sort of dirt on Trump, so that has them outraged that someone would be loyal. (And Cohen is loyal - he once said he absolutely would take a bullet for DJT).
Secondly, they also think this is some sort of hint to Cohen and Trump shouldn't say anything.
ALso, in the original tweet he misspelled Maggie Haberman's name with 2 b's, and that generated a whole bunch of "look how stupid Drumpf is" posts, includingHaberman, who also retweeted his post, which demonstrates how clueless the press is.

Thx, Captain. Here’s a proposal from ‘sixwhitehorses’ on Roger Simons post:
COUNTERCLAIM
Count I
Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC conspired and colluded with Russia to prepare a fraudulent dossier on Donald Trump to influence American voters and sway the 2016 election.
Count II
Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC conspired and colluded with Russia to prepare a fraudulent dossier on Donald Trump which was used by agents of Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC to file fraudulent FISA warrant applications and obtain FISA warrants to spy on Donald Trump and the Trump Campaign.
Count III
During the 2016 election, DNC employee Seth Rich was murdered by Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC in retaliation for Seth Rich giving Wikileaks access to the DNC email servers and/or Seth Rich releasing DNC emails to Wikileaks.
Count IV
Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC conspired to rig the 2016 Democratic Party primary with a predetermined outcome assured from "Super Delegate" voters who promised to vote for Hillary Clinton, thereby effectively nullifying the votes of all Americans who voted for Bernie Sanders.
Count V
As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton approved the transfer of control of 20% of U.S. uranium to Russian interests in exchange for $150 million paid by Russian interests to the Clinton Foundation, illegal funds that were used by Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Campaign, and the DNC to fund the 2016 election.

Old Lurker,
I think that is a good benchmark.
One of the things that got me was reading Karl Rove's book. I was so eager to hear the inside story of the Bush 43 administration - and it was nothing but a padded resume for hiring Karl Rove. Remember, during the Florida recount, the daily demonstrations in front of the VP residence where Gore lived? Remember how upset people were with that recount and all of the protests and demonstrations?
That entire thing got ONE SENTENCE in his book, like it was an afterthought. (And the fact is, if Rove had been a better campaign manager he wouldn't have had a close race in Florida.)
After I read that book I had no illusions about the intelligence of campaign managers. I think Rove is a fraud and his time has passed.

That's more figurative I think.

"NPR says you can keep your Romaine if it is from somewhere other than YUMA AZ.
Can we believe them about that???"
National Public Relations----> give me robust "hell no!"
What a joke. Go to any commercial lettuce patch in Amerka and you'll see "potty houses" lined up by the access road. What you won't see, cuz they are likely not there, are washups for washing one's hands.
So, what National Public Relations is saying, "There is only e coli linked to a single farming region-- Yuma, AZ."
Right.
Then there are the "packing sheds." A little better sanitation standard... but not much. "Soap" is at a premium and even if it's there, the state health departments spend a mint on signs in Spanish reminding the little angelitos to wash their frickin hands.
And, where the rubber meets the road, most Amerkinz don't wash their lettuce, especially if it comes in a sealed bag (you know "romaine hearts") or a transparent "box".
Ick.

Ridicule and the fickle press in this country have a long and storied association.
History's proven them wrong on more than one occasion, no?
Two of my favs:
Newspapers ridiculed Stonewall Jackson for being an "awkward and clumsy" buffoon until his battlefield heroics proved he was anything but.
Lincoln was portrayed as an ape in many a "satirical" cartoon.

Thanks for that article. Had read about in 27East. Amazing coordination of fire departments, EMT's, 2 different ferry operators and fishermen. East End people at their best.
Well, our visit to Portsmouth Abbey was very impressive. Didn't know it but Christopher Buckley is a grad as is the weasel E. J. Dionne. Too further balance things out so is Sean Spicer:) What I and Mrs. JiB liked was the utility of a British "public" school education protocals. The learn less then being taught. No textbooks. Taking English, then through the year you read the classics, the great books and discuss them, write literary criticism and articulate both oral and verbal the rhetoric, logic and use of language, etc.
They even introduce Socratic Dialogue to the public speaking curriculum. Building a new state of the art Science building - STEM on steroids. Classic languages, Latin and Greek, are available and for Freshman Latin is mandatory. Top notch athletic facility including 8 Squash courts.
All in all, we will be thinking more seriously about this school than all the others.

extraneus,
Someone should really do an expose on how they are flat-out lying about Trump's reputation and how fraudulent so many of these anti-Trump people all are.
There are hundreds of pictures on the internet of Trump receiving awards from Jesse Jackson and AL Sharpton. He was a good friend of Michael Jackson's. Yet he is called a racist.
He was LOVED by Hollywood because his appearance on a TV show got them higher ratings. Guest appearances on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, cameo in Home Alone 2, etc. Yet Hollywood acts like he's some sort of pariah that would never darken their doors.
NBC made a fortune from "The Apprentice." Yet their news people act like none of that money ever wound up in their paychecks.
I am quite curious about this obvious attempt to destroy his reputation. Are you telling me that Alec Baldwin never met Trump? I don't think that is possible, since they were probably at some of the same events. Robert De Niro? Same. This is the same for all of these stars - they KNEW him and socialized with him, just like Sharpton and Jackson.
The wholesale panic and hatred has to be connected to something else, and I am beginning to think that whole Pizzagate thing might be true, what with the arrest of that Smallville actress for her participation in recruitment for that sex cult. She had a picture of that spirit-cooker creepy woman on her Twitter account.
I don't talk about that stuff here and I had pretty much decided it was all a bunch of parnoid nuttiness except for that arrest - and the fact that Roseanne Barr is adamant that there is shady stuff going on in Hollywood.
And that is all I have to say, but either something has spooked all of these people and they are deliberately ginning up Trump derangement in the masses, or we are witnessing some sort of mass psychosis which has yet to be explained.

Well, Miss M, I don't think the people in the entertainment business, Hollywood and New York, are any smarter than those poor souls who followed Jim Jones to Jonestown in Guyana. They chose libertine pursuits as their guide and chosen fields, they were attracted to the glitter and gloss of the quintessential philanderer who became a governor and then president, and didn't give a toss when he besmirched the White House and allowed and/or gifted his wife with trying to overhaul our healthcare system, as well as a lot of graft, in order to hide her foul personality from the public. The left's mass psychosis is nothing but hedonism -- they want their graft, their thievery, their coke-rotted noses, and don't want to be thwarted by people they despise. They were probably so drunk on their own power (those in politics) or besotted and drunk on their drugs and money (those in entertainment) that their foaming tantrums will not stop unless some of them are sent to prison and those in the democratic party whose ethics haven't withered and died step out and say 'enough.' Frankly, I don't see that particular day coming.

Having grown up Methodist, I've never seen this before. Most funerals I've attended had either an American flag for a veteran or a floral "blanket" on the casket.

"Taking English, then through the year you read the classics, the great books and discuss them, write literary criticism and articulate both oral and verbal the rhetoric, logic and use of language, etc."
That is the essence of a model advanced by Mort Adler and Company in the early 80s: "The Paideia Proposal."
Went through and graduated from that exact model in 77 from ND. A good basic education at any level.
i'm admittedly biased.

Momto2,
W and Laura are Methodists. Dad and Barbara were Episcopalians. The funeral was at an Episcopal Church, and it looked like a bishop was presiding from the photos I saw.

still catching up, doubtless someone already expressed this but
"Someone should really do an expose on how they are flat-out lying about Trump's reputation and how fraudulent so many of these anti-Trump people all are."
In the end, they don't hate Trump. They hate us.
They hate him for standing with us.
