I wonder if the IRS website being shut down has anything to do with the Russians. I’m not joking. Or Twitter shutting down earlier today mostly in the NE US, the UK and Japan-who Trump is meeting with today. If it is the Russians, just know, Trump will respond by doing nothing.
I think some of these MFM newspresenters like Dickerson get a lot of leaks and he may be putting his leaks together and realizing he needs to hedge his bets on Comey. The only leaks Colbert gets are in the little boys room.
If I understand the article correctly, Scalia, in 2015, ruled that vague BS laws shouldn't harm defendants. They used that case as a precedent for this case where Gorsuch agreed that vague BS laws shouldn't harm defendants.
I have no real time to dig into this Birther style. Does anyone know what the law is and which congress and President made it law?
Right now Trump will win if the House and Senate creates a fix and passes as quickly as possible.
So I just took a look at the Fox News article about the flight into NOLA that the reporterette contends was an attempt to kill the passengers.
With all due respect, sounds like the pilots followed SOP, and didn't likely do anything they shouldn't have.
Particularly, the photo she snapped from the window looks like low ceilings, but hardly too low to allow an approach. Furthermore, if the controllers allowed them to shoot an approach, they thought the ceilings were above minimums as well.
When the reporterette gets her instrument ticket, she can come back and tell us more.
Capn, in general, you can spot a FULL COMMIE because of how goofy they look. Wild eyes and so full of bullshit.
Colbert is Rodhams cock holster. For giggles, I watched Ralphie Maddow for 2 or 3 minutes last night. That loser would be great at TWISTER. The lengths Ralphie goes to to twist something into nonsense is epic.
As far as the job he did as FBI director, Rasmussen discovered that “just 14% of Likely U.S. Voters believe that Comey was a better FBI director than most of those who held the job before him. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say he did a worse job this his predecessors, while nearly as many (35%) rate his job performance as about the same as theirs.”
Even those who “strongly disapprove” of Trump are not big fans of Comey, with only 21 percent of that particular group giving him credit as a better FBI director than his predecessors.
"There are "off seasons" at the FBI? So, that explains all the missed domestic terror opportunities."
I think it's because everybody's eyes were glazed over from listening to Comey talking about LeBran "all over the FBI."
"The biggest reason reunificaiton of the Koreas is different than the Germany's is North Korea is a personality cult. That didn't exist in East Germany and the Germans were more homogenous culturally than these two Koreas. Perhaps Trump should urge Abe to take them over again."
You sure aren't looking for peace in our time, are you? In both China and the Koreas, if you want an evil bad guy in a drama, just make him Japanese. In the west he would be the evil Nazi.
Aside from the fact that the two Koreas are probably the most homogenous countries in the world racially, they are not as far apart culturally as it might look on the surface. In fact, there are some traditionally Korean elements, even in the "personality" cult model.
On one side you have the stratified hierarchical Neo-Confucian model gone wrong, and on the other gone right. It's a model in which every relationship, including the personal & familial relationship, is power based. If I am 2 months older than you, I am your senior and you are my junior. I am not just your brother/sister, I'm your older brother/sister. If I am your parent or your mother-in-law, you owe me absolute obedience and respect, if I am your boss, you never talk back, even to defend yourself if you are wrongly blamed for trouble you did not precipitate. That's part of why there are so many suicides in South Korea, and why they actually drink more per capita than any other country in the world, including Russia.
Embedded in the very language Koreans speak are 7 different modes of address (including respectful suffixes!) which indicate precisely what rung you occupy on the omni-present ladder. The ideal Neo-Confucian monarch is restrained by a refined, highly educated inner circle, but in North Korea, the monarch finally won that centuries long tug of war between them, which typified Korean hisotry.
South Korea has only been a working democracy since the late 1980s, and there is an identifiable socialist strain running through the national psyche. Corporate big wigs still command considerable power, and in almost any popular Korean drama, the good guy is always the one who revitalizes a dying company by giving workers an ownership interest.
All of the above is way over-simplified of course. There are very real cultural differences, but there remain some commonalities, not the least of which are the inumerable families who were split apart in the partition.
Geez, this got longer than I meant it too. And TM is probably introducing a new thread as I hit "Post,"

My dad sat next to Tom Cotton at the Claremont annual dinner on Saturday. Cotton says Senate rules are under discussion and McConnell is going to keep the Senate in session during the campaign so Dems in tight races will be in a bind.

Thank you, for this. It summarizes quite well the reason for my 100% supportive approach to the President and all of the 4D chess, etc., claims.
For me, it has been more than a decade now existing in a very curious world filled with casual, demeaning presumptions of me . . . held by my friends!
Sometimes you just have to laugh, and continue to march.
The best "backfire" is for his book to fail big time, like already having those big red Barnes & Noble "40% Off" stickers on the front cover and stacked up on the Bargain table where you check out.
There you go again, RG "our friend OL has thrown up something of the white flag, resigned himself to the facts that circumstances are what they are, and properly stocked up on some popcorn."
White Flag of Surrender? Not a chance. As always I know I am right about this as with everything else, but am just tired of trying to convince my friends sipping doped up lemonade on the Verandah to realize that the Ledge has millenia of human history which validates their pessimism, and you happy folk really are counting on unicorns or at least black swans from another dimension to deliver your predictions.
Come on, OL. We all know it's really because once in awhile you remember your manners and realize that drinking companions are much more pleasant when they don't go on and on about their favorite gloomy hobby horse. ;)
James, RG knows of course that I too pray he is right. Before he came to JOM, too bad his "other" friends "it has been more than a decade now existing in a very curious world filled with casual, demeaning presumptions of me . . . " since you and I both know we would beat the crap out of anybody here who tried that with him.
Besides, there is nothing "casual" about how we (I) disagree with him when we feel like it, and he wouldn't want it any other way. Even if he lies about my White Flag and says other snarky things about our luxurious and secure Ledge.
I am reading an article by Sam Kass (Obama's WH Chef) in Men's Health and he presents a recipe for "Shallow Fried Catfish with Collards" by telling why he made it:
"As I mentioned, Barack initially didn't share his wife's enthusiasm for having a personal chef. So, when I got word one day during the campaign that he had the night off, I knew I had to make him a meal that would win a skeptic over". [NB: Do you feel a tinge of racial stereotyping in his kitchen?]
I wonder if he remembered the watermelon for desert?
Or, CH, he understands it quite well and -- as a firm Democrat and longtime member of the ruling establishment -- very much wants the administration to take a premature step.
I am fairly confident the Democrats and GOP Establishment would love nothing more than for 1) Sessions to unrecuse himself; 2) Mueller to get fired; 3) Rosenstein to get fired or any combination of the three. It would play right into their planned false narrative that its a sign Trump knows he is guilty of some wrongdoing and is going into coverup mode.
Kenyan Catfish and Honolulu collards. With a Pack o'Kools chaser, all washed down with COLT 45 in a 40oz bottle. What's for dessert??? A Pakistani on the couch.
As Misssshhhhhhelle would say, Jug Ears is down with the SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHTRUGGLE.
Why didn't Chef Boy R deeeeee, cook him up some of his favorite POOOOOODLE STOGANOFF.
so "can't do the right thing because it would be misperceived." Hell of a plan.
Wasn't the release of the McCabe section of the Horowitz IG report enough to temporarily satiate the Ledge dwellers that someone is "doing the right thing" and that when all the legal Ts are crossed and the Is are dotted then the Swamp draining can fully commence?
I submit that what you see as disdain for Trump followers probably comes from the heat of whatever controversy is generating the comment, and whether I am responding to a somewhat respectful, or somewhat condescending post, or whether somebody has decided to call me a liar or pervert today. Generally, I look at this group as being unusually well read, pretty darn articulate, and thinking the way they do for thought out reasons. But there are times when I think some viewpoint being put out there is a bit mad. Usually, I leave it alone, but, alas for us all, not always.
I choose to post in a place where I am a minority of 1. That suggests I am more wedded to conflict than I should be. But let me tell you, I would not hang out with a flock of idiots. Life is too short. I also try to add to the conversation, not create a lot of yelling. Sometimes, I do a decent job of it, and other times -- epic fail.
I think I will leave it today. I will not cure you of Trump love, and you will not cure me of Trump contempt.
Hi Clarice it's colder than heck, but the ice is gone. I got about a foot of snow over the weekend.
I thought of you yesterday. I was driving past JAKES on North Ave and I thought you'd like some of THAT!!! I reached for my phone to take a picture of the sign, but crap I left it on my desk at the office.
Noah took great issue with Comey’s sanctimonious behaviors, noting “you can’t take the high road” and still profit from a salacious book such as “A Higher Loyalty.”
He also joked that Comey spent his interview with Stephanopoulos telling Americans “how noble [Comey] is.”
“This dude is so loyal to America that when he dies, he’s just gonna turn into a bald eagle and fly majestically into an apple pie,” Noah laughed.
Noah went on to attack Comey’s motives behind the book and said that he finds it hard to believe that Comey is writing the book “for the benefit of the people” while also acting like he’s in grade school and mocking Trump’s physical appearance.
“You see, now that’s funny, but that doesn’t sound like an impartial lawman,” Noah observed. “That sounds like a guy who got fired from White Castle talking trash about his old boss.”
Ext.... The COMEY family is deluded and ideologically liberal. That isn't going to change.
Comey's wife said she REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted a WOMAN President. And she cried. Then she took her 2 daughters to a PROTEST MARCH.
Yeah, Comey's FBI was going to treat Rodham properly, sure they were. It's absurd.
TK. I wouldn't dignify what the FULL COMMIE is attempting. Hannity is entitled to talk to whomever he chooses. Hannity being friendly with Cohen means????? We are getting way way way too far into this witch hunt to keep track of all of the characters. Shorty SnuffaluffaGUS gave THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS to RODHAM and the FOUNDATION. That is bias.
My boss is smirking about IRS.gov having problems today.
I resisted asking him if they were problems on the level of the Obamacare website rollout crash, or the back end never even being built, or IRS going after conservative non-profits.
Will the illegal go to jail for the robbery?
Rattlegator you seem pretty sure this administration has a plan .
I hope you are right.
But you need to also consider the possibility that they don’t.There was no plan to stop the Plame kerfuffle.
Most of the time they were flying by the seat of their pants.
Also never saw the raids of Manafort and Cohen coming.
That is unsettling. Should have reviewed documents before they were seized from his office.
Hannity hasn’t done anything wrong.
He had the heads up on the collusion of the Deep State from the get/ go.
Never factored equivalence into his answers.
Saw his statement last night.
I can respond to posts in any manner I choose which in this means I do not directly address the poster who is my second least favorite person on this blog.
Gus "Why would Michael Cohen's office be raided, and Perkins Coie not."
For the same reason Williams & Connolly was not when it was discovered David Kendall and his staff had access to drives containing Hillary's secret state dept documents even thought none of them had proper clearances, and the drives were not secured as required by law.
Miss Marple, Slappy Von Jug ears had ZERO intention of doing a thing about Iran. He was stupid enough to believe in Iran, and Horse Face Kerry actually believed he was a STATESMAN. The previous admin was Neville Chamberlain feeble. I attribute it to Obama's Daddy issues.
Imagine being a soldier or police officer and being WEAK. That's what OBAMA showed the world.
All the people on the left going crazy about Hannity's "conflicts" and "biases" never think twice of all their MSM darlings with spouses working for Hillary or Obama, or similar conflicts. I can't even think of them all, but I bet Janet knows them by heart. That's in addition to all the ex-administration people like Snuffalopagus. I know Tapper's wife worked for Planned Parenthood, for example.
Gus "Slappy Von Jug ears had ZERO intention of doing a thing about Iran."
Actually, Gus, I think you are being way too kind in saying that or to compare him to Neville Chamberlain.
"Not doing a thing" is not the same as "actively working to empower Iran to get a bomb so that it can be used to destroy Israel and to gain a stranglehold over the US."
"Indeed, a peace treaty would simply be the start of the process."
Criminy. Before someone pedanticly criticizes this, let me clarify:
I know a peace treaty won't necessarily start reunification.

Wasn't the release of the McCabe section of the Horowitz IG report enough to temporarily satiate the Ledge dwellers that someone is "doing the right thing" and that when all the legal Ts are crossed and the Is are dotted then the Swamp draining can fully commence?

JMH:

Hannity sounds like he is going to prosecute himself on-air in an attempt to exonerate and absolve himself from anything and everything thing.
INAL but my advice is that he might try shutting up.
Posted by: Threadkiller | April 17, 2018 at 03:32 PM
Hi Clarice it's colder than heck, but the ice is gone. I got about a foot of snow over the weekend.
I thought of you yesterday. I was driving past JAKES on North Ave and I thought you'd like some of THAT!!! I reached for my phone to take a picture of the sign, but crap I left it on my desk at the office.

What is it that Hannity has done wrong?
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:35 PM
That I know of, Gus, nothing. However he is defended his right to speak to lawyers through equivalence.
"Hey, they did it!!"
Posted by: Threadkiller | April 17, 2018 at 03:42 PM
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:44 PM
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:46 PM
Hannity committed the crime of knowing Michael Cohen personally and occasionally asking him for informal legal advice.
Posted by: Porchlight | April 17, 2018 at 03:48 PM
I agree, Gus. I think Hannity is his own worst enemy when he reacts like this.
Thankfully he has moved on to attacking Perkins Coie.
Posted by: Threadkiller | April 17, 2018 at 03:50 PM
My boss is smirking about IRS.gov having problems today.
I resisted asking him if they were problems on the level of the Obamacare website rollout crash, or the back end never even being built, or IRS going after conservative non-profits.
Posted by: Porchlight | April 17, 2018 at 03:50 PM
Here is bias in the media, and an attempt to explain it away.
https://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/05/15/george-stephanopoulos-apologizes-to-viewers-on-clinton-donations/
Hannity having conversations with the same attorney that TRUMP uses, is akin to going to the same restaurant. There is no connection to anything.
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:50 PM
Correct Porchlight.
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:51 PM
Will the illegal go to jail for the robbery?
Rattlegator you seem pretty sure this administration has a plan .
I hope you are right.
But you need to also consider the possibility that they don’t.There was no plan to stop the Plame kerfuffle.
Most of the time they were flying by the seat of their pants.
Also never saw the raids of Manafort and Cohen coming.
That is unsettling. Should have reviewed documents before they were seized from his office.
Posted by: maryrose | April 17, 2018 at 03:51 PM
Why would Michael Cohen's office be raided, and Perkins Coie not.
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:52 PM
Hannity committed the crime of knowing Michael Cohen personally and occasionally asking him for informal legal advice.
Bingo.
I wish Hannity would have had this simple and clear of a response.
Posted by: Threadkiller | April 17, 2018 at 03:53 PM
Hannity hasn’t done anything wrong.
He had the heads up on the collusion of the Deep State from the get/ go.
Never factored equivalence into his answers.
Saw his statement last night.
Posted by: maryrose | April 17, 2018 at 03:54 PM
Why would Michael Cohen's office be raided, and Perkins Coie not.
Exactly.
Posted by: Threadkiller | April 17, 2018 at 03:54 PM
ALL of this bias and corruption by the FBI is only going in one direction.
NO CRIME HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED in this WITCH HUNT.
Numerous crimes were committed by RODHAM and many of her PEEPS
WHAT IS THE PUBLIC HEARING????? IT'S SICKENING.
A WAR IS COMING.
Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 03:54 PM

Gus "Why would Michael Cohen's office be raided, and Perkins Coie not."
For the same reason Williams & Connolly was not when it was discovered David Kendall and his staff had access to drives containing Hillary's secret state dept documents even thought none of them had proper clearances, and the drives were not secured as required by law.
We could go on, of course.

Posted by: GUS | April 17, 2018 at 04:23 PM
Honestly, I thought you were talking about maryrose, OL. I will not hold you to that.
That was my diagnosis when she got everything wrong as she jumped into the Hannity discussion.
It does work for Hannity.

Yes, I said it.
