A commenter at BJG blog:

From Comey’s novel:

“It is entirely possible that, because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president, my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation bore greater weight than it would have if the election were closer or if Donald Trump were ahead in all polls. But I don’t know.”

So the head of the FBI was making decisions based on the polls, and slanting investigations to match what he perceived the outcome to be.

Threadkiller

BTW why would I be on the run?

That was question for RG. I was wondering if he was going to assess you the same way he assessed me.

I know you are a player and I expect you to continue this dialog. I want to thank you for finaly going back and reviewing the comments.

A kakistocracy (/ˌkækɪsˈtɒkrəsi, -ˈstɒk-/) is a system of government which is run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the 17th century.

Tom R

TK,

First off a genuine thanks for your post at 9:27am. That saved me a lot of time. I am curious why you omitted the post of mine that should be #1 in the timeline. It was posted 8 hours before MM linked the tracybeanbz tweets

BTW one thing I’ve learned from following Trump for past 2 years is to always wait 24-48 hours after something major happens to let the dust settle. The initial narrative you read in the media always has some falsehood and falls apart after the full story comes out. This FBI raid on Cohen is beyond the pale. Hopefully within 24-48 hours we will discover that once again there is more to the story than we originally thought.
Posted by: Tom R | April 10, 2018 at 08:49 AM

My 8:49 provides the context for the point I made in your bullet #2.

If that person is correct, it just goes to show everyone should wait 24 hours and let the dust settle before jumping off the Ledge.

At this point you went into fullscale Snark mode that gave all appearances you were trying to obfuscate the point and derail the discussion. In bullet #7 I wrote the following:

Specifically, she (tracybeanz) documented some facts that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that it’s quite possible Mueller wasn’t going after Cohen at all.
It’s why I asked narciso if he thought tracybeanz is correct when she says Felix Sater is not an ally of Trump. If she is correct then that opens up all kind of possibilities as to why Mueller was investigating everyone Sater was in communication with.

Instead of addressing the valid point, you went into derail mode and starting asking if the 24 hour rule applied to tracybeans conjecture, which by the way included links to documented facts that you could have read for yourself had you wanted to get informed on the issue.

On to bullet #9. Narciso never answered my Felix Sater question. If he did answer it I don't own the secret decoder ring required to understand a lot of his posts so I missed it. No one else addressed the Felix Sater question either. You were the only poster who was actively trying to derail discussion away from the question. That came across as suspicious to me. Why would you do that? You gave me an opening and I seized the initiative. The Felix Sater question has been posed multiple times now and you continued to avoid answering it.

I don't know what TK's problem is but as Ignatz pointed out at 10:12 long arguments with TK can get distracting and disruptive. I think a scene from the end of Saving Private Ryan is appropriate. An American GI and a Nazi are fighting to the death in hand to hand combat. Another American GI (the actor was the adult Elliott of ET fame) was gripped in fear and did nothing to help his fellow GI kill the Nazi. The Nazi killed the GI, got up and saw the coward GI who did nothing to help, and then ignored him and walked by knowing that the coward GI was no threat to him. This will be the one and only time I compare myself to a Nazi.

If TK ever wants to respectfully discuss the Felix Sater issue I am all up for it.

Wasn't in my browser dictionary, but per Wikipedia

A kakistocracy (/ ˌ k æ k ɪ s ˈ t ɒ k r ə s i, - ˈ s t ɒ k-/) is a system of government which is run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the 17th century.
Brennan is that old, eh? I'm sure his tweet will get lots of traction, for all the wrong (but oh so right) reasons. Sometimes using a word of that ilk without contemplating how it actually sounds, can make you look like an idiot. Yet again.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Sue,

So Brennan thinks that these people are the worst or least qualified:

a former commandant of the Marine Corps
a former governor of Texas
a former governor of South Carolina
a former Congressman and US Navy Seal
a former Goldman Sachs bond trading expert
a former investment banker
a former governor of Indiana

etc. etc.

What he MEANS is that Trump didn't nominate anyone from the Marxist crony pool he swims in.

I put Brennan right up there with Hillary and Obama in my list of "people I would most like to see prosecuted."

Which brings me to this question: did the CIA have a backdoor to Facebook? If so, then the CIA was spying on American citizens, which is against the law.

You posted something last night I thought was fabulous. Of course at this point I can't recall what it was about, but I want to thank you.

narciso

So what is tom tillis good for exactly?

Tom R

Here is why I think the Felix Sater issue could be important. I welcome anyone to point out any holes in the theory.

Inside this NY Times article is an embedded graphic of an email Sater sent to Cohen in November 2015.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/28/us/politics/trump-tower-putin-felix-sater.html?mtrref=www.google.com

That email IMO is over the top. It is written in such a way with specific keywords that it is almost guaranteed to trigger NSA counterintel operations to flag the email for future analysis.

Combine that email with what we know to be a fact. Sater was a convicted felon who the Feds used as a confidential informant against the Mafia. Sater was under the control of Loretta Lynch when she was a US Attorney in NYC. I did not know those facts until I read a link that tracybeanz provided in one of her tweets.

Here is what I think is a reasonable assumption. Since Sater was a convicted felon and CI against the Mafia, I assume that allowed the FBI to acquire a permanent search warrant against him. I assume Sater's phone, email, texts, etc were all under constant surveillance by the Feds.

Whether Sater knew he was under constant surveillance or not, as soon as he sent that over the top email to Cohen there is a good chance the FBI got it without having to go to the NSA with a search warrant.

That also raises the question of why Sater sent the email in the first place. Was Sater truly an ally of Trump or did the FBI force him to send the email because the Obama administration had an intricate plan in place to destroy Trump (as revenge for him being a Birther) and they were going to use this over the top email as evidence of Russian collusion?

I have no idea one way or the other if Sater was truly an ally of Trump and wanted to help him become president. He could be a true ally but forced to send the over the top email anyways because the FBI had him by the balls. A refusal to do what he was instructed to do could void his plea deal with the DOJ and cause him to go to prison. Who knows what is really going on with Sater? Regardless, I sure hope either Horowitz or Mueller is digging down deep to discover all the facts.

narciso

The Scene:

The wagon bearing Morgan's Nazi TomR's pine coffin waits in the street, hitched and ready. Virgil is up front with the women, arm in a sling, pale. Doc and Kate wait on horses nearby. Finished loading, Wyatt looks around. People line the street, watching in silence. Clum and his wounded wife turn away from the window of their lodgings next door, unable to meet his gaze. The very air feels charged with paranoia and recrimination, as if the whole town has suddenly become morally radio-active. Bystanders gape as Josephine steps out of the hotel, regal and impervious as a queen, wearing a gawking scorn like a mink coat, her little white dog scampering after her. Passing Behan, he gives her nasty look and spits. She doesn't even break stride. Lounging in front of the Crystal Palace with the other Cowboys, Stillwell gives Curly Bill an enquiring look.

CURLY BILL
Naw, she's nobody. Wyatt junked her.

Passing Wyatt, she doesn't even glance at him. Doc sighs:

DOC
And so she walked out of our
Lives forever.

Without a word Wyatt climbs onto the wagon and shakes the reins, driving off. He pulls up in front of the Cowboys. They make a show of pretending to hide their guns. Wyatt looks straight ahead:

WYATT
I want you to know it's over.
We're leaving and we're not
Coming back.

CURLY BILL
Well... 'bye.

JM Hanes

Uh oh, Hillary scores a twofer:

Clinton said last year Comey "should have been disciplined" for his handling of her email probe, saying Trump fired him for the wrong reason.
Blaming Comey while simultaneously pulling the impeachable intention hat trick!

More from the Free Beacon:

"This president is unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values," Comey writes. "The silent circle of assent. The boss in complete control. The loyalty oaths. The us-versus-them worldview. The lying about all things, large and small, in service to some code of loyalty that put the organization above morality and above the truth."

"What is happening now is not normal," he writes. "It is not fake news. It is not okay."

Comey, according to the New York Times, devotes a large part of his 304-page book to concern over the country's direction under the Trump administration.

"I could see how easily everyone in the room could become a co-conspirator to his preferred set of facts, or delusions," he writes.

"We are experiencing a dangerous time in our country, with a political environment where basic facts are disputed, fundamental truth is questioned, lying is normalized and unethical behavior is ignored, excused or rewarded."

Man, the guy needs an irony intervention too! If the ostensible highlights represent the quality of his prose, Comey is not just utterly obtuse, he's also a terrible writer.

Looks to me like he's expanding the circle of blame into dangerous territory:

Comey is critical of then-Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, saying she had a "tortured half-out, half-in approach" to the Clinton investigation and that he considered calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor.
Is there any question that Comey has always had a hard-on for Special Prosecutions? Alas, always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Tom R, their damn near 20-year relationship with Sater is intriguing. But a November 3, 2015 eMail like that? After Trump announced in June 2015 his candidacy for President?

Very suspicious. Especially given what we now know of the DOJ-NSD and the FBI-CID.

For 20 years they have been using him for their purposes. Did they make use of Cohen in the same way?

I know that Trump was kryptonite to most of Gope but how was a candle to the likes of Manafort, Page and Papadopoulos who from their resumes seemed to be Dem plants. It seems that Trump had a sixth sense that this was the case and that is why Manafort and Papadopoulos are in legal jeopardy. Tom R through Tracy beeans seems to insinuate that Sater was also a Dem Plant.

Seems that Trump knew he was being set up in all these situations but as Rg said Trump knows the Dem playbook (Rudy or his minions clued him in)and is unraveling it in his 4D chess style.

Tom R

A lot of wishful thinking 4D chess theory follows.

The timing of Trump announcing he will pardon Scooter Libby could be a mindForUnlawfulCarnalKnowledge of epic proportions, especially if the Horowitz IG report is released soon to counter the Comey book release.

How many heads would explode on the Left if it turns out Trump has evidence of Plame, Wilson et. al. members of the CIA Deep State intentionally providing fabricated intel to Bush Jr and that evidence is going to be made public soon? Wishful thinking on my part but imagine how much damage that would do to the Deep State?

Lets take it one step further down the rabbit hole. Joe Wilson and Marc Grossman were longtime friends going back to their college days. It was likely Marc Grossman who divulged Plame's identity to Richard Armitage. When Sibel Edmonds went public with her whistleblowing, IIRC she linked Marc Grossman and Dennis Hastert (now a convicted pedophile) with a lot of shady Deep State stuff going on in Turkey.

How awesome would it be if a lot of Sibel Edmonds accusations against the Deep State are about to be confirmed and that it ties into Trump's agenda cracking down on sex trafficking and the suspected DC pedophile ring conspiracy theory?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Why didn't the Russians accuse the US of staging that chemical attack? That is what one would have expected.

The UK seems to be strange, unless they really DID set it up. In which case there are going to be a whole host of new problems.

Getting Trump through Michael Cohen was in the plans from the get-go.

"Evidence of this laundry process is found in a significant “search query” result that was actually a mistake. The faulty intelligence mistake was the travel history of Michael Cohen, a long-time Trump lawyer. The FISA search turned up a Michael Cohen traveling to Prague. It was the wrong Michael Cohen. However, that mistaken result was passed on to Chris Steele and it made its way into the dossier. Absent of a FISA search, there’s no other way Christopher Steele could identify a random “Michael Cohen” traveling to Prague.

The Cohen mistake created a trail from Chris Steele to the FISA database. {Go Deep}"

It’s really depressing watching Mueller continue to do what he wants too. Mueller is the deep state. When all is said and done, Mueller will probably have a few more indictments associated with Manafort and Gates and will come out and say the fbi and doj had every right to do what they did because Trump did have Manafort in his campaign and Manafort is a really bad guy. Mueller was appointed for the special council to cover up everything and to protect the fbi. He will not get Trump, but he will save himself and all the black hats from indictments.

*Statement from the Press Secretary Regarding the Pardon of I. Scooter Lewis Libby*

Today, President Donald J. Trump issued an Executive Grant of Clemency (Full Pardon) to I. Scooter Lewis Libby, former Chief of Staff to Vice President Richard Cheney, for convictions stemming from a 2007 trial. President George W. Bush commuted Mr. Libbys sentence shortly after his conviction. Mr. Libby, nevertheless, paid a $250,000 fine, performed 400 hours of community service, and served two years of probation.

In 2015, one of the key witnesses against Mr. Libby recanted her testimony, stating publicly that she believes the prosecutor withheld relevant information from her during interviews that would have altered significantly what she said. The next year, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals unanimously reinstated Mr. Libby to the bar, reauthorizing him to practice law. The Court agreed with the District of Columbia Disciplinary Counsel, who stated that Mr. Libby had presented credible evidence in support of his innocence, including evidence that a key prosecution witness had changed her recollection of the events in question.

Before his conviction, Mr. Libby had rendered more than a decade of honorable service to the Nation as a public servant at the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and the White House. His record since his conviction is similarly unblemished, and he continues to be held in high regard by his colleagues and peers.

In light of these facts, the President believes Mr. Libby is fully worthy of this pardon. I dont know Mr. Libby, said President Trump, but for years I have heard that he has been treated unfairly. Hopefully, this full pardon will help rectify a very sad portion of his life.

I can't link it because I don't have a WaPo subscription and am out of free views. ChiTown Lurker alerted me to it.
